I bought this album when I was 12 years old in 1967 and was hooked on the Blues for life. Been singing the Blues with my Bands for over 50 years. Jack Bruce was my hero and still is. Check out the live Spoonful on Wheels of Fire. Of course the Black Blues Artists of the 50's were the Architects and Foundation for the Rock in the 60's and on. And of course Hendrix evolved the Blues to its natural resting place, Outer Space.
This might be my favorite song from a bands whose time together was over in a flash. Clapton's tone and vibrato were inspirational. Bruce's passionate, operatic voice was put to great effect here.
"We're Going Wrong" a track off the psychedelic 'Disraeli Gears' album recorded and released back in 1967 by 'Cream' is blazin' hot. ' Cream's' live version of "I'm So Glad ' and "We're Going Wrong" at the Royal Albert Hall in London from 1968 at their 'Farewell Concert' was absolutely FIRE. Eric Clapton's guitar solo and Ginger Baker thumping the drums sink deep down in your soul. Vocalist and bassist Jack Bruce pours out his soul in this song as well. It is no surprise that the power rock trio 'Cream' reached the status as a 'Supergroup'💫🎤🎸🥁🔊⚡🔥☮🎧
'We're Going Wrong', Jack solo at the piano is special. 'Disraeli Gears' Classic Albums DVD I borrowed from a local library. Found it on YT too. Should be heard. ✌🏼😊🎹🎶❤️🍁❤️✨️🕊
It took Cream and other 'British Invasion' bands to bring these black blues artists to the attention of us myopic Americans. It surely worked on me. I became a huge Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Howling Wolf, Albert KIng etc fan and immersed myself in the source material. Great stuff!
Absolutely accurate. I'm a lifelong Mississippi resident. This, the British, is how I first heard the music that was made a few miles from my doorstep.
How great is that. One of the best cover versions of all time. Cream were a fucking phenomenal band. And you said it right Biz, Jack Bruce just made the track his own, and that's despite Clapton and Baker playing their asses off. Have you checked out "World Of Pain" or "We're Going Wrong"?
Jack goes down deep for his vocals for sure. From the first I sometimes found myself looking at Jack's EBO bass and lamenting what I thought was a muffled tone. Not a problem always, nor here. My late buddy Robbie, the Blues Butcher, a blues-harp(harmonica) player, loved to do this one. Last one we jammed together. Rest In Peace, Robbie, Jack and Ginger. Messrs. Bellmore, Bruce and Baker. 😢💔🎶🌈🌉❤️✨️🕊

Can't wait til you hear the live version on Wheels if Fire
Cool. "Spoonful" is a cover of Howlin' Wolf, souped-up and cranked to eleven.

Great reaction!
You would LOVE the Derek/Dominos Jam Sessions. Five incredible instrumentals, one or two with Duane Allman.

The best thing that ever happened to Led Zeppelin was when Cream broke up. Cream was the first heavy band of virtuoso’s .

Grateful Dead covered it as well: 52 times between 1981 and 1994. Bob Weir vocal.
Yeah, I saw one of those.
Ten Years After the first album 1967, awesome. RIP . ALVIN LEE.
Check out the original version by Blues legend Howlin' Wolf...it's even better.
