A few of my favorite things Episode 1: Gerber Processor Fishing Shearers Review

I do a lot of cut bait fishing in my kayak, mostly for catfish but also for bowfin, gar, and some saltwater species, too. Originally, I would pack a knife and a small cutting board, but i found it too cumbersome and dangerous (after accidentally slicing my finger open at lease twice while trying to cut slippery bait). That led me to look into getting some fishing shearers.
I tried 1-2 cheap pairs and they just didn't have the cutting power or enough features to really be adequate for my needs. When I heard that Gerber was coming out with shearers specifically for fishing, I decided to get a pair and have been very pleased with their performance.

Hey Chris, are these also coated with Gerber’s Salt Rx coatings like many of Gerber’s other saltwater gear? Thanks!

I didn't see that specifically mentioned on their website, so I'm not really sure. I have used these in freshwater many times and have taken them in saltwater several times. They've been cleaned in the dishwasher and I haven't experienced any issues with them rusting.
