My biggest problem with After is that 13 years old girls will watch it and view their toxic relationship as romantic and think that this is how true love looks like and how they should be treated. It makes me SICK
Most movies for teens are about romanticizing bad relationships and behaviours unfortunately. Then we wonder why so many people are stuck in toxic partnerships 😔😔
@@ana_bananass hey name twin, you’re exactly right the shit i see ppl put up with.. can’t help but wonder if all these movies n tv shows rly got in their heads
n what’s crazy is that both characters are self aware, they state multiple times that they should leave each other, they’re done, they need help, but they always come back to each other. that can also fuck with impressionable heads, bc it sends the message that you can fix people and that “true love” perseveres. true love should be easy. like tessa said herself, she doesn’t want to survive the relationship, she wants to live. you shouldn’t have to fight so hard for someone. if you love someone, you recognize what’s good for them and you leave if necessary. if you love someone, you show it through honesty and communication. none of which happens in these movies. i watch them for comedic purposes, but there may be younger ppl who are actually trying to make sense of these movies and use them as the blueprints for their relationships.

The “I’m sorry I couldn’t fix you” boils my blood. It’s not a woman’s job to fix a broken man and I hate that young girls might see that and think it is their job.
Well, it actually is if the woman is a therapist 😂
I think what you mean is "It's not your job to fix your broken ass partner"
@@Kalypsoo even as a therapist it isn't a therapists job to fix someone, but to give them the tools to help themselves. This is my nightmare as a psychiatrist, having to work on a Hardin. It's inevitable but I'm still absolutely dreading it. I have no idea why anyone would willingly come into contact with the radioactive waste that is a Hardin
@@Kalypsoo dont therapists give people self reflection and tools to fix themselves though?

24:52 Dylan hysterically laughing whilst Hardin is screaming in anger will forever be the funniest bit LMAOOO
So nice of Dylan to upload a horror movie commentary right before halloween 😊
Its a perfect blend of horror and comedy
Because there’s nothing scarier than a toxic relationship.
@@TJ0564 to quote the king himself haha
omg I-
true though
The guy who played Noah was in Halloween 2018 and Halloween Kills but his character's death in Kills would be the death Hardin deserved.
After watching Ross and Rachel in Friends, I realized my investment in a couple ends after their second breakup. So I’ve been mentally checked out in this series since like, the middle of the second movie. This couple’s relationship is like a punishment from Greek mythology - it’s just an endless cycle of misery.
Same for me with real life couples, sometimes couples split once and get back together and it just works but twice and I'm like 😬
Honestly I've been completely checked out of this movie long ago. I don't care. I'm just here for dylan and dylan alone
I don’t understand how people were invested after the FIRST breakup.
This guy is a toxic power plant who is NEVER going to change or evolve.
I think you summed up my feelings on both After 3 & 4. The first two were only fun to watch as something to rag on, but After 3 & 4, they make you more bored and angry if anything because we know at this point those idiots will fight, break-up, and get back together. It's just rehashing the same "plot" device every movie.
Yeah, but at least relationships in Greek mythology are interesting
10:13 i mean if hardin was filming a commercial for constipation relief, i’d say his performance was enthralling, riveting even, i’ve never seen such power and raw emotion go into a squeeze on television before but its just so real.
If the actor for Hardin was acting straight face throughout the entire scene, and then suddenly while filming a snake came up and bit him right in the ass and that expression was the reaction to said pain, I'd say fair play you did the best of your ability
Hardin sounds like a British person impersonating a non-British person doing a British impression
"I dunno how people sit through this without me" Truer words were never spoken dylan😭
i watched it with my friend in a cinema...I actually enjoyed how awffuly bad it was😄
I went white my sister, it's been a tradition since the first movie, it's a very funny comedy 😂

When you said "how do people sit through this without me" is TRUTH. I honestly would never watch some of these cringe movies if you weren't making fun of them 🤣
To say I didn’t laugh hysterically when Hardin told her mom “your opinion means fuck all to me” is an understatement
So you… REALLY didn’t laugh hysterically? 😂
@Hiba i dont think you're reading the sentence correctly. In the sentence structure the OP is saying she did NOT laugh hysterically
Fanfic writer here 👋🏾: it’s so important to recognize how horrible these characters are. Like seriously how do they think anyone can root for them ever? This film series gives us a bad rep 😭
I have seen some amazing work on fan fiction.
Why can’t we put those in the movies instead?
fellow fanfic writer, 100% agree!!
I don't write fanfic but I read it a lot and I was genuenly surprised how good fanfics actually can be bc most movies that are made out of them just seem so cringe/bad (can't find the right word for it but I think you get what I mean)
Of all the fanfics to get recognition, this shitty thing got the attention it didn't deserve
Omg I know you from Wattpad! Lol love your books ☺️💜
For the last few years, I haven’t watched a single After movie but discovered them all through Dylan’s videos. Thanks Dylan for your sacrifice.
“Do you guys even know each other … do you even know her last name 😂”
Dylan was more interested in the mustache guy who was in the movie for 10 seconds than he was with the movie itself 😂
That whole Moustache Guy segment was hilarious! 🤣😂🤣😂 I kept cackling and rewinding that part.

At this point I think the only reason the After franchise keeps making movies is for us to have Dylan reacting to them. I'm not bothered.
This is OFFICIALLY my favorite commentary yet. Your faces when Hardin screams is EVERYTHING. 😂😂😂
Dylan said there are no happy moments in this movie but so many bad things are happening to these awful characters, and it brings Dylan tons of happiness.
"That was before I knew After existed... I was so happy back then. Life was nice."
- in trouble, Dylan.
That's some poetry, I see.
“Nice is just another word for boring.” - Hardin 😂
My biggest problem with After is that 13 years old girls will watch it and view their toxic relationship as romantic and think that this is how true love looks like and how they should be treated. It makes me SICK
Most movies for teens are about romanticizing bad relationships and behaviours unfortunately. Then we wonder why so many people are stuck in toxic partnerships 😔😔
@@ana_bananass hey name twin, you’re exactly right
the shit i see ppl put up with.. can’t help but wonder if all these movies n tv shows rly got in their heads
n what’s crazy is that both characters are self aware, they state multiple times that they should leave each other, they’re done, they need help, but they always come back to each other. that can also fuck with impressionable heads, bc it sends the message that you can fix people and that “true love” perseveres. true love should be easy. like tessa said herself, she doesn’t want to survive the relationship, she wants to live. you shouldn’t have to fight so hard for someone. if you love someone, you recognize what’s good for them and you leave if necessary. if you love someone, you show it through honesty and communication. none of which happens in these movies.
i watch them for comedic purposes, but there may be younger ppl who are actually trying to make sense of these movies and use them as the blueprints for their relationships.
Yeah these kinds of movies make teens (and adults, let's be real) mistake drama for passion.
Not really lol if a 13 year old watches this movie then its on the parents to monitor what sort of media their kid consumes bc the movie has age restriction. This has the same energy as saying video games cause violence or smth lol And im saying this as someone who hates this series.

How does someone "accidentally" write a book? Hardin is just an insult to actual writers.
A small but big criticism I have for these movies is Tessa dosen't have a female friend! she doesn't have someone just looking out for her. Landon is biased andhardins brothers it doesn't count and she needs someone who can tell her to take care of herself, get out of unhealthy relationships and Have fun! I hate when movies give a girl a boyfriend and no one else!
Him calling Landon "Takeoff" is the funniest thing ever
Dylan being a loyal audible sponsor is iconic!!!! Dylan and audible will forever be associated with each other!!
A modern love story if you will…
Damm seeing the actor in the beginning is so bad, he looks actually nice, and now his whole life he's gonna be tied to this character, poor him
Hardin is like when a middle schooler learns what cursing is. Why does he say fuck every 5 seconds?
Probably to make him sound more “British”
The joyful cackle when Hardin runs out of the house and throws a tantrum was amazing.
The amount of hype for Dylan's book is the craftiest thing he's stretched over the years. Can't wait for it to be available on audible in 2050 🙃
