Fun fact, the reason Tessa's not in this movie is because her actress, Josephine Langford, didn't want to continue the series lmao, she didn't think there was any more story to tell. All of her appearances in this movie are from footage cut from the fourth movie. I can't blame the woman, I would want to quit this movie too, but it definitely makes it a weird finale when the female lead isn't even in it lmfaoooo.

I think this film series exists to describe what dating a narcissist is like. Someone who only talks about themselves and expects everyone to talk about them only too. Unable to acknowledge anyone else's struggles for more than 5 seconds. Also the girls' responses, both by Tessa and Natalie, are unhealthy "fawn" responses. They ignore their own trama to try and comfort Harden which will not work. Because he needs to fix his trauma on his own. Nobody owes that to him. Unfortuently this is a common dynamic in many relationships.

I guess she didn't think this made sense. Everything of her in this film is either flashbacks or it was filmed during the 4th movie. I believe, to be a sort of epilogue but they instead stretched that into an entire movie.

What really doesn’t sit right with me is the fact that the movie has to have Natalie tell Hardin that it wasn't his fault for ruining her life after he slept with her while recorded with her consent (in the book, it wasn't) then sent it to his friends WITHOUT her consent. Yeah. I was actually happy he didn't end up with Natalie because that would have been awful if he did. That would be praising a dude selling a girls nudes and thinking any girl would want that. Not only was it incredibly disgusting how he violated her in that way, but then the fact that she forgives him when he’s done nothing to earn it because the plot can’t SHOW that Hardin deserves it (because he doesn’t), it has to TELL us. And while yes, this is a fanfic, the message is absolutely HORRENDOUS!!! He bet his friends he could sleep with Natalie, forced her into making a sex tape, sent it to his friend, it got out and fucked up her life, and then a few years later bet another friend he couldn’t sleep with this other girl, never really apologized to that other girl, and now five years later, he’s still not sorry for how he treated Natalie.

Hardin ending up with Natalie after ruining her life and doing basically nothing to earn her forgiviness or to grow would have been a terrible ending tbh. Like I don't even understand why she leaned in to kiss him, it was so gross after all he put her through, and the fact that she had to comfort him when she was the victim and he was the abuser is so disgusting. Not that the actual ending is any better, but at least everyone was expecting Tessa and Hardin to be together I guess.

And the fact that after it got leaked and she went to Hardin for help because she lost everything even her parents kicked her out, all Hardin did was slam the door into her face because "it wasn't his problem, why would he care"

The audacity for the writers to still make her have a thing for him too and try to kiss him in this movie is beyond me, especially with more context from the books. She also said 'it wasn't his fault' like the writers forgot he chose to take a bet and record her without consent.
He literally committed a crime and she should have pressed charges against him. Fairly certain it would be considered s3xual a$$ault and if Natalie was underage, him circulating it would be considered circulating child p**n.
