Amish Restoring Old Barn in Ohio Part 2
Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 вер 2024
- This barn built in early 1900's is being restored to be livable. The whole barn and the loft above the garage are living quarters. It's still a work in progress but has come a long way.
It has the height of a 4 story house and was built on a natural stone foundation. Meaning the foundation was dug until they hit rocks and couldn't dig any further. Its been standing for a 100 years and with some care should last a few hundred years longer.

Save the barns!!! 👍👍👍
It would have been great to see the finish
I would love to know the costs involved. I have an old barn and would love to have it restored.
I bet he wishes he had that drone, even like a 20$ indoor helicopter
Great job!! Where is this barn? We have an Amish crew working on our barn now as well. Had to tear off a slate roof that looked to be similar vintage to the one on yours. Did you replace the cupola? :D
The barn is in Ohio. The cupola was actually loostened in 3 corners then leveled and fastened again. Some of the studs were replaced too. Then we put vinyl windows in the vent openings and put metal on the roof. It looked really sharp when it was done. I have a few video clips of it that I'm waiting to do the final video. Inside is being completely redone to living quarters so it's a couple year project.
Is it insulated on the inside?
Yes, we insulated the first floor but the main part wasn't done last I was there. But plans are to insulate entire barn. The floor between two stories is also insulated so they can live in the bottom while the top is being finished. Above the garage is office space.
How does one find an Amish crew for barn restoration? I have a barn in need of help just north of Pittsburgh
@@dezignstyler I found mine framing houses nearby. Just went up and talked to them. Takes them awhile to warm up to you
Getting ready to restore an old barn by Sunbury. What contractor did you use?
Google Norman Miller Auctioneer and call him. He can get you connected to the right people.
