    Thanks for the video! You're absolutely right! I'm really confused and don't know what to buy... so many different devices with so many options. I just want a device where I can connect my speakers, my XLR microphone, my headphones, my PS5 and the PC... and then just control everything, where and how loud the sound comes out. Finding something suitable here isn't that easy XD

    23:20 I was watching you from my tv, so i picked up my phone to tell you that you've said exactly what I'm thinking when I'm watching some reviews.. Thank you. I think we need logic more than some "experts." 😅

    So what do you feel like the Rodecaster Duo is missing for a gaming creator

    I use the Wave DX with the Wave XLR, Absolutely love it and I love the Elgato Software. Also the Streamdeck is honestly the best piece of equipment I have bought, not only for streaming but for other usage aswell. Editing, Quick launching websites or applications. Honestly so good.

    I’ve had the mainstream for a month now and it was definitely rushed, I’m thinking about returning it…it has potential as far as capture card and mic pre amp plus additional webcam support all in one device, but I get static/distortion in audio and mackie told me it sounded like audio sample rate mismatch but you can’t change it…using the software doesn’t bother me if it would work the way they said it would…praying for firmware update soon…but great video man…very helpful

    Since I run to monitors I would not mind having the sliders on a piece of software, if I were only running one monitor then that would be a giant pain in the butt but it would be much much nicer to have a knob or physical slider for every sound source and then like a monitor mix knob so you can just how much of the PC audio versus monitoring your voice you hear in the headphones. But honestly having the physical controls and the piece of software would be great, that would be perfect honestly if they had both. For example my current audio interface let you control every function on the interface or with the software and I really really like that but it's just a basic interface, but all I need is one knob to adjust how much of the PC audio I'm hearing through the headphones and then a slider for each sound source that the viewer hear. I have two gaming channels and then I have the audio channel but I completely understand what you're saying here, now Harris does stream on twitch, I believe he is a gaming twitch streamer and I think he's just sharing what he likes or what works for him but everybody's different and everybody likes her wants different things

    I like this video you make some valid criticism over some of the products I have had issues with with products content creators have covered. I myself bought the rodecaster pro 2 and use it for streaming its helpful in controlling audio from my mic and what I have set on obs. allot of the products arn't great for gaming streams especially if like you said you need to alt tab out of a game.

      I don't know what you're trying to say here. That sentence doesn't make sense. If possible, can you add some context to the statement?

    Roland Bridge Cast checks all the boxes except it only has one XLR mic input. Still might be worth checking out, i have one and it trumps every other streaming audio mixer on the market.

    I've been looking for an audio controller for months now. Even started an Excel sheet lol. Got my eyes on the Roland Bridge Cast atm..... Was really looking into the Rodecaster Duo and the Mackie DLZ XS but not sure if they can handle sub mixes/ dual bus channels well. With the Roland Bridge Cast you can swith between 2 with one button apparently. But not sure if 2 sub mixes is enough for me....

    you need the razer audio device its got 4-channel Interface with Mute Buttons, XLR Input with Preamp, Plug and Play) and great software. i wouldnt go without now

    • @SquidHeadJoe
      @SquidHeadJoe  Місяць тому

      yea i looked into that already and talked about in 2 other videos before this one, to my knowledge it doesn't let you control sub mixes just the over all volume of an audio source and you can only eq that 1 mic. that's why most people get the stream deck plus because every audio source can have eq's with the wave link software but in my opinion the stream deck plus is over priced. not to mention at that price the razor is too and has 1 audio input which makes it useless to me & a lot of other content creators and streamers who have more then one mic. i use 3 mic's & 2 wireless mics. however, I'm glad it works for you

    as someone who day one bought the beacn mic and mix create , they deff have there issues, right now im looking for a replacement for the mix create due to its issues ( usb-c , and no vst's and delays , WHICH they are doing a major overhall.. but its still in the works )
    do you have any recommendations for streamers who want audio submixing , bonus if they use usb mics?

    • @SquidHeadJoe
      @SquidHeadJoe  26 днів тому +1

      As of right now the only one I of for usb microphones is the stream deck plus if it's non usb then the Roland bridgecaster(I believe it's called) I have been told it's good. Now the you could get the PC panel pro which is a volume controller but it's only for overall volume not sub mixes volume. But yea kinda of what I was saying options are limited and costly

      @@SquidHeadJoe honestly iv been looking into the stream deck plus, it helps that, yes i do have a normal stream deck i some what use both for work and stream use, but i DO with it came with a larger screen and less buttons/ they made a XL version.
      and the roland bridge caster seems to have great opinions about it, tho i do with it had a screen, cave man brain aside, i do like the visual aspect of knowing im doing something/ look and see a clear visual ( yes i could have a mini lcd that captures volume changes but i already have 3-4 screens up already lol )

    @squidheadjoe so what would you buy instead of those mentioned in your video, let’s say something that sub $200 to make it more affordable for majority of peeps getting into the live streaming, podcasting, UA-cam production game? Thanks

    • @SquidHeadJoe
      @SquidHeadJoe  Місяць тому

      I would say honestly below $200 there isn't 1 device that would do all those things maybe 1 or 2 but not all. Example the wave xlr has only 1 xlr port so 1 mic, has software with sub mixes which is great for streaming/youtube content but anything else it's not good plus no physical control for those sub mixes. I could go on but I think you get the point and that's kinda the point of the video no device does it all but companies try to charge over 200 for their devices which doesn't make sense. The only one close is the avermedia nexus but the software is good but not the best and only 1 mic port and is $300

    • @darran1621
      @darran1621 Місяць тому

      @@SquidHeadJoe I agree the options aren’t great, but I think there are a couple of contenders and would love to hear your thoughts on them. So the Mackie mainstream with the matrix software, yes mainstream only has 1 xlr input but it also supports 2 usb inputs so that’s could be used for 2 usb mics and it has the ability to plus in a phone so you could take one caller. Now I think it’s a bit pricey at $299 price but I have seen it few times on sale around $230 which I think with the software and hardware features combined is a good contender. Then there is the Zoom Podtrak P4, sure it’s old but it’s a workhorse that supports 4 xlrs, 4 headphone outs, phantom power for all xlrs along with gain and mute for all 4. Has 4 trigger sound effects, 11 preset sounds, TRRS connections, separate recording tracks for all 4 inputs plus its battery powered and $150 so I also think this is another good contender, sure it’s an older unit but honestly it’s probably unmatched for its features and price point. Thoughts??

      @@darran1621 Not to be mean but, i don't think you fully understand the point of these 3 videos i did. The point of them was to say that a CC now a days that does talking head's, streams(more then just playing games), podcast/having more then one person needs: 3.5mm jack for wireless mics, more then 1 xlr input(USB audio for a CC who is serious is not good enough), software that has physical control for sub mixes, not just over all mixes, capture card is a plus but not needed so the Mackie mainstream is out because it can't control the matrix software so its out. now the Zoom Podtrak P4 you mentioned sounds good but you didn't mention software so am going to guess there is no sub mixes only overall mixes so its out. so again the only products that come close is the AVerMedia Live Streamer Nexus but it only has 1 input and software is not as smooth as elgato software. elgato has the stream deck plus that does it all but no input and even if you get the wave xlr that only has 1 input. so now you should see the problem and i didn't even mention the cost of everything
