Watch Toni's guitar lesson for this song: • Buckets of Rain - Bob ...
Toni singing and playing "Buckets of Rain" from the back of a van! We spent a couple weeks hiking around the beautiful mountains and trees of Alaska in September and playing some music in good old mother Nature. This was one of the on-the-go sort of videos we shot. I heard Toni working out this Bob Dylan finger-picking pattern in the van while I was reading my book up in front, and it sounded so amazing, so I asked her if she would play it again once through with the camera rolling. I hope you enjoy this performance by Toni as much as I enjoyed filming it!
Toni put an in-depth "Buckets of Rain" fingerpicking guitar tutorial on her UA-cam channel, so make sure to check that out if you want to learn to play this beautiful tune: @ToniLindgren
LOS ANGELES! We have a full band show at Hotel Cafe on Dec 12.

Great ideas get great rewards.
When Toni woodsheds keep that camera ready.👍🤘
For myself that is my favorite Dylan song.
Very glad you did . . . lovely version.
Let's hear more of Toni's singing please. This video is pure joy.
Yes, please!
@funkyalfonso: Pure Joy? I wonder why you say that?
Reaching Satori, or sudden enlightenment, usually after years of patient, dicisplined meditation and devotion to Buddha, experiencing your own Buddhahood with a spiritual clarity that is beyond words, understanding the interconnectedness of all things, feeling an infinite compassion towards all sentient beings, freed from all desire and fear.
That is Pure Joy.
@@Mr.Monta77 They are just making a comment on how much they enjoyed the song- no need to pick it to death...
C. Leigh: Death? Why do you speak of death? We cling to life although there is nothing to be called life. In fear, we cling to death although there is nothing to be called death. In reality, there is nothing to be born and nothing to perish.
Do not worry.
@@Mr.Monta77 you must be a ton of fun to hang out with....
I can’t stop watching this. She is mesmerizing. That voice!
Her guitar playing is more impressive.
@@JeffRebornNow both are awesome
I think this is the third time I’ve watched this! Voice matches song beautifully, no comment on playing required 😘
I love that Toni is singing more and more. She's a great singer and great guitarist.
The acoustic inside Van Morrison isn't bad either.
Oh my thanks hon béautiful thank u Bob Dylan the only show my son was able 2 c before his passing this yr. AT the beacon ,we cáme from NFLD MN. He did not tell me he was I'll he passed 3 after c ing u forever young Bob Dylan drew was 33 yrs old I miss him so much a lonely mom
Lol I named my sienna Van Halen.
Something I will never understand about audio engineering is how irrelevant a NASA Mission Control of technology is to the finished article. These guys (Toni, Reina, Carson, Josh and friends) put a 10 year old Zoom H2 recording mic in the middle of a forest clearing, or indeed on a railroad track, and let the magic happen.
Of course it helps to be insanely talented.
I could spend the rest of my life sitting on the porch listening to her pick and sing, very cool !!! And good looking too !!
I was sad when the song ended…..I could listen to her non stop for hours. Absolutely no words for that performance. ♥️♥️♥️
I've been on UA-cam for more than 10 years, and never commented on a single video until now. An absolute masterpiece, thank you for the joy this brought me, Toni!
They say no performance is perfect - gotta tell ya, this IS flawless 😊
I always admired Toni and her virtuosity on guitar. (And other instruments!). But THIS piece is really a bullseye hit! Her voice fits so well to Dylans *talking* songs that my jaw dropped!
So good, so beautiful Toni! Love you!
Must complete my comment, 'cause I listened 4 more times: she is so good, so bloody good, so incredibly good, that I just can't find the words. Go Toni, carry on, we love you!!!!!!!!!
Warmest hug from an old fart whos frozen heart you warmed again. Wish there were more people like you on this world.
Great..I love this album .I've tried so many times to play this song...with your tutorial now Ill'make it..Thanks ..You're a brilliant guitarist !
Toni Lindgren incredible guitarist!!!
This is by far, the best cover of this song I’ve ever heard. Great job Toni.
d'accord
When Toni stopped playing I felt like clapping and then surprised that my eyes were tearing up. So lovely and precise. OK, listening for the whatever time. Listening to Toni’s voice and Dylan’s poetry. “Everything about you is bringing me misery.” Again with the tears of joy and appreciation. Thank you Toni. Thank you Bob.
And thank you to Elle (aka Reina) for capturing this performance and sharing it. Can you imagine if she had not done that?
As a 50 plus year fan of Bob Dylan I want you to know this is an absolutely beautiful cover version. Your guitar finger picking is impeccable.......a great talent......
This performance is a perfect example of how you get to Carnegie Hall. Years of practice and tons of talent. Thank you Toni.
By now, I've watched this 20-30 times [no exaggeration], remaining enchanted by Toni's playing, singing, and pronunciation of "honey-baby." This video gives me "a peaceful, easy feeling" EVERY time.
I have a lump in my throat & tears in my eyes.!!
70 years old. Listened to Dylan all my life, never heard this one. Toni you are gifted.
Cheers from this 46 yr old from Kentucky…God bless & be well ✊🏽✌🏽
It's on Blood On The Tracks
One of my fav. albums.
@@michaelhawkins3624
It’s hell being old but age is softened by you and your guitar. Much love and may you be blessed with your life. Thank you for what you do .
Well said, my peer. I'll clear 80 this coming year, and it does make life easier.
That song's been hanging around for decades, waiting for Toni to show up and do it right. Thanks so much. Lovely.
Nailed it
Yes, this comment exactly!
Straight down the middle, just right.
Loved it. 😎
this lady is a rare talent, I've been watching her in the background mastering her way through songs, incredible
I listened to all the buckets of rain I coud find on you tube, included the version of Bob himself.
But after all… your version is really the best. You played that guitar as I can only played in my dreams. And your voice and personality give this song exactly the warmth that it needs.
Did I say that I’m a fan?
Toni is a treasure. Always love her renditions.
So, so good! Thank you Toni! Thank you Reina for thinking to record it!
Toni, you have a strong, soulful voice; let it loose, don't hold it back, don't keep it under wraps.
The only thing better than hearing Toni play is hearing her sing. Well done!
My heart fills with joy whenever I see you play Toni! So proud of you!
Buckets of tears running down my face, as she plays like an angel and brings me such joy. I could listen to this all day. Thank you Toni for sharing your gift and hard work with us.
The naturalness and ease of Toni's playing and singing is remarkable.
I have never come back and replayed a song as much as this one. The song is perfect. What a joy.
I heard it 2 yrs ago and listen to it at least 50 times. The best of Bob done as good as Bob.
This is one of the best performances I’ve seen on UA-cam. Toni’s singing and guitar playing are both incredible!!!! Please give us more like this with Toni!
Thank you Reina and Toni!
I can't tell you how many times I come back to this video. Toni, you've got some of the most calming energy, thank you for sharing this moment with us.
I come back for a listen. Calms me down..some. Got a smile creepin on.
Thanks Toni and Reina. There is always so much emotion and feeling in your covers. You don't just copy the originals, but turn them into something so new and improved.
They love the songs. They enter and inhabit them. Beautiful.
Like what often happens with RDC' s covers of other iconic songs , the amazing Toni Lindgren has made this wonderful Bob Dylan song completely new for me on this drizzly , grey Sunday afternoon in NYC. Notwithstanding the weather Toni's great finger- picking and beautiful singing has brought warm thoughts and joy to me from thousands of miles away.
Thank you both as always 😎❤🎶🎵🎶 back here mid March 2022. Concentrating on toni's guitar playing . Beyond awesome! The coda at the conclusion left me breathless. I can't even imagine how much work /practice it took to play it so perfectly. That's virtuouso level playing and that's what we get from ms. toni lindgren
The road trip vibe, the views, the feeling of discovery, the music, love it
This is seriously impressive. So beautifully delivered. I hope Bob Dylan has seen it.
Oh, you went to Alaska in a van? You are true outlaws. Beautiful tune, great performance. Best wishes.
Toni is so incredibly talented. So glad y'all make music together.
Very very cool! Your song is used as a lullaby for my 1 year old baby...he has been listening to it since birth...he loves it, thank you!
This is great ❤️
I don't know who or what I love more...the talented lady or the delivery of that great Dylan song....but that's easy, Toni the best rendition of that song, ever, for me!!!!!❤
Dennis
That is certainly welcomed ray of sunshine on this rainy and dreary West Coast day... THANK YOU! ❤️
Never heard it, now I have to hear it, but I don't think It can be better so I'll just forget it and listen to it again and again and again. Masterpiece. Toni's beauty always shines even through buckets of rain.
This is so intimate and reflective….. this felt like the performance of the writer rather than a cover. Toni ….. sublime in every way. Beautifully captured RdC. Thank you🙏🏼
Love listening to this woman pick and sing.
Toni, you have some insane guitar playing skills!
Everyone is right, Toni us an amazing guitarist, but she's also coming into her own as a singer. Just lovely. I've never heard this song and I have no desire to hear the original.
You should, though. It's amazing.
U should hear the original…
original is 10,000 times better cause of the Dylan's raspy cracked voice that drills deep through your mind and Soul . this is ok, nice but forgettable
@@optionmaster221 This cover is a lot of things. And forgettable it’s not one of those things.
@@agustinfunesemma I already forgot it.
Wow, first time I heard Toni singing solo. She's got it big time!
Best thing I've seen on the internet for long long while... don't stop.
Toni's talent has always been apparent. It seemed to me in the collabs with the Other Favorites that she was always holding back. In this one she shines, as she ought.
Never been a big Dylan fan but..
Dang girl...you got me hooked now.
I was tearing up. Toni and her guitar on a Sunday. What more could one want.
The more I listen to this, the more I get the feeling that Toni knows EXACTLY what the lyrics is about. She sings it as her own words. That gives a huge extra quality to the performance.
That was tremendous. Your voice and style fit for this song perfectly. Thank you for sharing
She plays and sings so effortlessly, so in the flow, so beautiful!
The more you hear Toni the more you realize how special she is. She and Reina compliment each other perfectly. Thank you as always ladies.
@2:59.....that down beat choice.....brilliant interpretation...one note illuminates soul!!!
I don’t know how many times I’ve come back to Toni’s rendition of this particular Bob Dylan song but, I really like her guitar playing and her vocals. Great job Toni. Great catchy tune Bob Dylan.
This was an honest, respectful, and competent performance. Too many singers these days tart up songs for some reason. This was a great rendition of one of my favorite songs.
Competent? Boo.....
It's a favourite of mine too and her voice is perfect for it.
I agree that too many singers oversing. It's annoying.
@@stinkypinky8795 Pink pink, you stink unless you can explain Boo. I've never been a big fan of Dylan. I never got half of what he was trying to get across. This I like and I'm still not sure what it's about. Yeah, it's live and beautiful. Where am I wrong here? No question it's Alaska. I'd know it anywhere.
Yes. A lovely and honest version! I love it!
I would love to hear Toni do a cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “ Never going back again’.
Son . That was great . Been Dylan fan from the 60’s . She is so good . I’ll watch it a bunch
Beautiful performance of a beautiful song by a beautiful musician! Real joy.
I'm running out of ways to say "Wow," to Toni's playing, without sounding silly. But, Wow! What a light touch she has.
There you have it: a grown ass man crying on the train :-) This is such a beautiful, barebone rendition of on my favorite Dylan’s songs. Thank you Toni you made my day much brighter…
Wasn't on the train, but add me to the grown-assed and misty-eyed list! ;-)
Yah... Me as well tears rolling down my face what an incredible voice....
This is why we loved Dylan songs.
They are paints any artist can work with.
I was singing that in the shower today - looked it up and found this version. I liked it very much. Nice playing, nice voice.
This is low-key my favorite Dylan song being covered by an incredibly talented and great person. Life is good
Her voice has a very lived-in quality that really suits this song. Very nicely done.
Toni is just an amazing artist. Playing prefection...and beautiful voice.
Blown away by her rendition. I love love LOVE it!!! You are quite awesome, beautiful girl
So amazing! Both the guitar playing & the singing are superb. I love this so much.
Toni has a really good voice we need to hear more often.
@@Scottlp2 I completely agree!
I definitely would like to hear more of Toni. That was a piece of art! I watch every video you put out: Very inspiring.
Flippen awesome to hear Tonis voice, we all know she can play guitar but lovely to hear the voice behind the guitar. Love and blessings from the Kruger Park in South Africa. Awesome stuff sister.
🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
the subtle vibrato throughtout is just so perfect
Nice hear you singing Dylan. Your voice is wonderful!!! 💚💚
WOw! Deeply moved by this one. Thank you both for sharing this moment!
Tony you are so talented. I love your guitar skills. God bless you all
This is so lovely! Keep coming back to hear and watch again. Makes me feel good, thanks!
Beautiful performance! Shooting in (I assume) Van Morrison gave the performance a really intimate feel--like I was there with you. Really lovely video.
Phenomenal!! Warm, husky voice --- and, of course, the fingerpicking... nice capture Reina! (GO, GO, GO TONI!!!)
Great description of her voice.
Wow. I've turned so many I know on to Toni and Reina, as well as Josh and Carson. The 4 together are incredible. But each is worth a listen. When I describe Toni, I say gifted musically, in about every instrument she touches. She started singing, allowing to be recorded and disseminated, which was great to see, and she's always been good, but she has also improved greatly, at singing. So much more confidence now singing. It's a good thing thing
I’ve never been able to stand Dylan’s voice. This makes me appreciate his writing when sung by a much more pleasant voice 😊. Thanks. Wonderful video ❤️
This is a great performance by Toni. Another great interpreter is Joan Osborne who put out an LP :"Songs of Bob Dylan". (many tracks here on UA-cam).In fact I like almost everything that Joan Osborne does.
Been a Dylan fan for over 50 years. Never payed much attention to this one, until now. Toni makes this a whole new song. So very soulful and guitar work well beyond Dylan’s capacity. Not disrespecting my favorite Nobel Prize winner but appreciating the prize that Toni is.
Its on Blood on the Tracks. A great album. Poetry in song, is what makes Bob the best living song writer IMHO.
bobs recording is masterful
I think this is the first time I heard Toni sing solo. What a pleasant surprise. Judging by the comments here we all want more :)
i play this video about every other day lol
I've already commented on this video once. I did so before I saw the whole thing. When I commented at first, I said this was absolutely incredible. Then I saw the last 30 seconds. What absolutely masterful guitar playing. Hat is completely off. That was so, so, so good. Just such a pleasure to watch and listen to.
Phew. I'm getting emotional. Very nice piece of music, Toni. The setting giving a cosy sense of intimacy in addition to the way you perform it, it reminds me of "Ballads" by John Coltrane: pure joyful melancholy. I wish you do more. Thanks a lot.
I said to myself “wow” after hearing the first verse. Well done, Toni.
Can't find a better cover, trust me I looked. Great job!
God! Toni is really something when it comes to play the guitar! But her voice is something megical. Keep doing it! 🤎
This is such an incredible rendition, I really don't know anymore how many listens I have given it
Well done, my day is better, having seen this performance.
Thank you, Toni, for your beautiful rendition of Dylan's timeless song. It transformed a sad Saturday afternoon in São Paulo (Brazil) into a moment of emotion and communion with beauty and sensitivity.
That song played and sung by Toni is a masterpiece. I instantly loved it and felt that it was the best version of this song. I'm sure Dylan would agree, like he said Jimi Hendrix's version of his tune All Along The Watchtower is the definitive version. After reading Reina's comment I understand why it's so good, it would not have been the same if Reina didn't record it. Beautiful friendship, true love.
Huge fan of Dylan. Love the heartache she brings to this song.
Toni is a real gem. Always makes everything she does seem effortless - even though it’s really not!
Thank you Reina for sharing Toni's Awesomeness with us.
Missed you in London UK this month ,hope you tour next year in the UK.
Your pals are all great artists (Josh Turner etc etc )
Toni is my fave babe but i love you too .
You have a huge following here in London England from my pals and beyond .
Please don't ever stop sharing your wholesome beautiful music.
This Tony girl is amazing... you nail it on the guitar big time. So many musics i see you playing and you are a revelation. And your smoth voice. Whaw!!!
Wow. Stunning cover! The finger picking finish was AWESOME! Toni's vocals just keep blossoming...
One of my favorite Dylan songs. Toni you did a great job interpreting Dylan's song. Great job Toni, loved it.
Pretty much nailed it.
Love that little picking twiddle at the beginning of the finale. Also love all the great music available on UA-cam now but sometimes you run into a kind of hidden gem.
Sounds very smooth.... Toni, I had loved hearing you play and now I really love hearing you sing. You have a very natural/honest vocal.
