Actually, I would rate him as one of the greatest song writers of the 2nd half of the 20th century, not the 21st. I would also put Hank Williams in that category, but maybe more in the middle of the 20th century.

Not the least of things that is remarkable about watching these performances is that Boy George, as a judge, is clearly very familar with Bob Dylan's Great American Songbook

The last guys is the closest I've seen anyone, famous or not, capture Bob Dylan's raw melodic energy. It's really baffling to me that no one turned for him. What were they saying to each other? The woman didn't seem impressed and I'm puzzled as to why.
Because it *didn't* have any energy (Dylanesque or otherwise), nor did it bring any originality. It was pretty lifeless, no surprise at all.
I don't know how that Springsteen song got into the mix, but that performer was astonishing. Wonderful voice and a masterful performance!
I think maybe his performance of "Dancing in the Dark" was so damn good they just had to put it in. Or more likely, someone just thought Dylan wrote it. For me, this guy's version is better than Bruce's. And maybe they got confused because Bob Dylan has covered the song.

While "Dancing in the Dark" is not a Dylan song (Bruce Springsteen), the young man singing it (Jørgen Dahl Moe) on Norway's Got Talent 2022 delivers one of the best and most emotional vocals I've ever heard. I believe he is still a contestant on the show. STUNNING!!
Judges don't know what and how they can help some of these artists advance /progress.
Bob Dylan songs are so stylishly too specific therefore if the singers are molded so much
in his style of delivery and vocalism it would be difficult to un-mold them and appeal to
general audience.
But these singers will have people who love them specifically for the same reasons.

@@Daytime_Frank Don't think so. Dylan has covered this song, but it was written/composed by Bruce Springsteen and Arthur Baker.
@@Daytime_Frank Definitely not Dylan. Springsteen tried to emulate Dylan's style in the early albums, eventually finding his own voice. But that song is nothing even remotely Dylanesque.

So much of the time these auditions are hard to watch because the judges are so annoyingly clueless!
