Recently went up to Carrizo Plain National Monument in search of a wildflower superbloom with my good friend and exceptional bassist (seen here on guitar), Andy Mark. I thought it'd be really fun to camp there for the night and have a nice l'il song session around a fire, but as it turns out, plains can get insanely cold and windy once the sun goes down, so instead we just sat in the van and played 90s songs all night. I wanted to do one of those 90s songs in the morning on camera to capture the moment and the massive views, but it ended up being even colder, and windier, and rainier then. So instead, here's a little spin through "Into the Great Wide Open," from the small, cozy interior of the van.

About Toni Lindgren:
Toni Lindgren is a guitar player based in Los Angeles, CA. Combining Tony Rice inspired flatpicking with a love for the smooth, flowing melodies of greats Jeff Beck and Roy Buchanan, Toni Lindgren blends rootsy and emotive blues styles. Hailing from Fond du Lac, WI, Lindgren started performing regularly with projects around her home state at the age of 14 and has been active in the Midwest music scene ever since. She relocated to Minneapolis in 2007 to study at the University of Minnesota where she teamed up with folk rock band Reina del Cid. In 2018, Toni toured with internationally acclaimed artist Lissie in support of her record, Castles. When she is not on the road, Toni enjoys sitting in with groups of wide-ranging genres and working on her own original guitar compositions.

You're one of the very few dual-dexterous guitarists who is equally convincing in both formats. And here, you use your subtle singing and acoustic skills to re-tell this quietly different story. Tom Petty would have been thrilled. Your high-end playing is amazing. We know you can veer all over the fretboard when you feel like it, but you have a minimalist style that is equally sharp. As with Carrizo National Monument--ten out of ten and I'lll be back.
Great job , you can actually see Toni listening intently as she sings and plays . She effortlessly dissects the timing of her pieces. A true talent .

I second that, or 29th it. Lot of character in that voice. Or bring the guitars down a bit. But then, the studio there looks a bit small.

The music is great, the pictures are also amazing. Playing together in close quarters, vastness of the plains, raspberry beret juxtopesd on puffy clouds and blue skies and green-yellow grass all together tell a story.
