Hello good people of the Internet,
One of my good friends decided that I didn't have enough model railway stuff to show you guys on the channel, and so made me a supply package to keep me amused during Lockdown earlier in the year. But just what had he sent?
A video featuring and edited by Lawrie

Very glad you enjoyed box No.1 Lawrie. More boxes on their way. To all the folks out there, I Modelled OO for about 8 years, before moving on to larger Scales such as 7.25 and 16mm. This is my way of making use of the accumulation of model railway stock that no longer has a home in my collection. Plenty of quirkinesses to come! Edward
Looking forward to them arriving
Wish I had space all I currently have is a straight on my windowsil. About a metres worth but Thomas and City of Hereford are quite happy shunting back and forth.
Me too Lmsfan08
Great video! I alway enjoy playing with trains, and when I can't, I enjoy watching you.
Thank you, glad to hear you're enjoying what we do!
Seems those locomotives just need a bit of oil and track could use a little maintenance. But hey, love these kinds of videos. Your joy running your engines really gives me the nostalgia of first starting in model railroading, makes my day.
A video on servicing will be coming in the not too distant future. The early days of model trains are the best 😂
I have that model of the Great Western 101, it's a beautiful slow and quiet runner when kept clean and lubricated.
Personally, I think the performance capabilities on the older style of 0-4-0, with the open frame can motor, are better than Hornby's new 0-4-0's!
I think I agree

I do words good me
@@lmm on the topic of words, Me cringing when he calls Bachmann "back-man" instead of "bock-man" *hiss*
@@dean_was_here_2005 is it??
Everyone over here - shops too, call it Bach - man
@@lmm Over here you'll get mobbed by the HobbyTownUSA guys for calling it back-man without having an English accent 😄
@@dean_was_here_2005 oh really?
One more thing to go into the shed !!! Maybe next to the Jupiter !!! LOL
Sadly we don't have space there at the moment
I see this model railway growing a lot in the future!😉
There's the potential!
Well lawrie if you are not tripping the breaker you’re not having fun 😁
Pretty much 😂
Afternoon Lawrie. You may or may not know that Hornby changed something like the gearing or the motor in its 0-4-0 'Pocket Rockets' round about 2014(ish) - I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. The newer ones (despite the same chassis and bodyshells) do run much better. I'm addicted to them ;@) Excellent content as ever, Sir! Toodle pip.
Ah yes! I vaguely remember that now!
First thing, double head tank engines
After that, you have enough switches to build a small yard
That's what I was thinking!
some plank wagons and the cows to make a cattle train. MOOOOVE
That's a terrible joke 😂
Ha, ha, ha..... I'm dying
Now is a good time to get some boards to extend the layout
I just need a bigger room!
Lawrie, you are making me want to dig into the model railway stuff that I have had stored for about twenty years or so....
Pleased to hear it! It's like having new stuff all over again!
Lawries gonna have to build him a whole Model Railway now.
I think he will require a large room or shed to build one in or join a model railway club to build one
I don't have the space currently :(
Lawrie's Mechanical Marvels I don't either, but I've been thinking about going to N scale, tiny stuff that does not need much space at all
Fantastic video as always keep up the great work can’t wait to see what’s next!
From Erika
Thank you very much!
I love model trains and trains in general.
Ditto
@@lmm what's your favorite gauge for model trains? I really like n gauge
All this looks amazing can’t wait to see what comes in the other boxes and all the layout possibilities
Me neither!
Like # 444 Cool Cool Cool... Keep'em coming!
Wheel set + Cows = Rollingstock and they stay on track, (hee hee). You gotta lotta track and... more coming? You lucky chap!
Exceptionally lucky!
I think the pug just needs a good service and clean... those 0-4-0s are very sensitive to dirty wheels and pickups! :)
It's in dire need of a service
Was the motor giving out what I call the garlic bread smell? 🤣🤣
I've never heard it called that, but I'm amused 😂
I think that the smell is Ozone which is often given off by electric motors and has a very distinct pong.
Also they do another industrial shunter on that chassis. I did recently repair one of my saddle tank 0-4-0s and the funnel was missing so I drilled a nail into the area and then rapped some black tape around it. Very easy but make sure you take the body off first.
Did they? Oh yes! The 4 wheeled Thomas!
Brilliant video, I have a small 00 scale layout and run steam & diesel , have worked for BR in in the past and work at a heritage railway, were in the past I've been lucky to drive our class 10 ( the one in my u tube avitar ) and I had small goods trains that would make a ideal one for small model railways , like a lowmack wagon with ex LMS brake and once a queen Mary brake and flat wagon on the front , great fun , keep up the good work 😊
I think small model railways are often the most fun!
Indeed lawrie you can have great fun with modern day locomotives and modern wagons like class 66s and hia wagons or network rail engineering trains or vintage railtour with br mrk 1 and 2 coaches
I just like the older stuff more 😂
@@lmm see alot of the older locos and that are harder to maintain and try to get parts for and can be expensive at shows
@@lmm I prefer the slower precision control with Dcc and the sound option too
I like your content very much..I like trains very much continue what you are doing
Your content is just so good 😊 you should have a bigger follower count every video is a nice surprise when it pops up at the top of the screen please continue what your doing 😄 👍
Thank you very much! Glad you're enjoying what we do!
cant wait to see what box 2 beholds
You and me both
you lucky person you. very good video thanks. tom
I am indeed, and thank you very much!
The Hornby platforms are great as a base to use making more realistic ones.
The scaledale ones look really nice!
With that bus you could do the Titfield thunder bolt 🤣🤣🤣
I totally could!
A suggestion as you are servicing your cars you should service your locomotives check the pickups from the wheels to the motors and you might get a better running. Those little engines are as delicate motors as in you fire engine or your digger. Keep up the good work and thank you for the entertainment. P.s. please run them as careful as you run your Ruston in real life.
There will be a video on servicing in the not too distant future!
Christmas came early for Lawrie.
It was a good day
Great video!
Thank you!
i loved the video lawrie i think you could make a larger scale of the railway if you put anougher table with the first one you can make a larger scale
I just don't have the space sadly
Whose going to send lawrie a huge garden shed or the deeds to a large house in the post to create his layouts?
By the way watching this is very strange after watching Lawrie doing live Lawrie goes loco at the Apedale narrow gauge railway.
for some reason I thought you meant a scale model of The Shed itself...which tbh I'm totally down with. then we can fill it with scale models of his vehicles.
@@sawyerawr5783 if Lawrie does create a layout this has definitely got to be one of the buildings he puts on it. I am sure someone does a model of the Dennis fire engine like Jupiter.
I'd like a nice big house 😂
Brilliant!
Thank you!
You need to get a 2.4-1.2 flat broad to build the layout on we want to see your big layout that's in storage
I need more space to get that out!
I wonder when you are going to do something with jeb you international 275. Great vid 👍
When we've fixed some other bits
You can quite easily rectify the issues with how Triang stuff rolls by dropping some newer wheels inside em.
Obviously metal wheels are best, but the newer plastic ones also fix this issue.
or just go crazy and machine the existing wheels to modern dimensions
It's just time effort and money of replacing them.
Cool 😎 videos
Thank you!
Shunting Puzzles!
They're my favourite kind of layout!
I run old triang stuff on modern track regularly, including my princess. It does actually manage modern points quite well though seeing it's wheels jump up slightly does maybe take away from the realism. But then I remember I am running a triang princess.
And you may need to take a run up at the point 😂
@@lmm it's not as bad as you might think, it will cross them at slow speeds. So long as one wheel stays in contact it keeps chugging on. It's not particularly modified but I have done a lot of work to get it to run so well including replacement gears and new wiring. Blame lockdown!
Oh good show, that will help!
That's a lot of model railway items
Isn't it just!
I am sooo jealous. 🚂
I'm very lucky
I believe 101 was Swindon Works shunter, so we shall pretend the mainline coaches are going to be repaired.
that is what I was considering, tank engine might shunt passenger coaches around the yard.
That's correct! Good cover story
That coach looks like a Bedford SBG Duple Super Vega
Thanks for the info!
15:15 rule of cool always wins
Yep!
Wish I would get sent stuff like this lol
I was pretty excited by the concept!
Are modern tracks by the various model train companies compatible with one another?
As above
Cool :)
I agree
Wow
A lot of triang stuff was built with wheels different to hornbys wheels not for locomotives but everything else you charge the wheels. You can find appropriate wheels on the Internet or/& good model shows/exhibitions, good model fairs and some model shops. Your pug loco that seems to be playing up may need a clean and you may need to open it up and remove fluff that can build up. Your pugs wheels may be dirty so a good clean will help the wheels pick up power from your track. The motors brushes maybe worn so you may need to replace them and you can get the brushes from the same places as the replacement wheels. A warning to you most model locomotives that are not small tanks will derail on short hornby points mainly because the points have to much of a curve for them. The way to stop your locomotives derailing on the points is to only run locos that don't derail on them or change your points to peco points but if you go for peco points don't go the short point in pecos settrack rang as they are near enough the same as the short hornby points. Go for the short pecos points in the Streamline range.
Yeah, triang stuff is a courser scale. I could change the wheels, but it's a lot of effort and cost!
Loco will get a service soon enough!
You should get an Irish railways loco, they run on 00 track
Could do I suppose
quickly! somebody send him a OO-scale Massey 35! and a OO-scale version of Jupiter for that matter! (I wonder if Faller makes one that drives?)
EDIT: I enjoyed that start on the pug with the coaches btw: I call that "the passengers are now all against the back wall of the coach" start. before I finally got good engines, several of my older N scale steamers were prone to doing that. though, nowadays a lot of my engines do that at first because I don't get to run as much as I'd really like to. I have a layout slowly in the works but not much has happened to it since...good lord, april?
I'd really like a oo scale Jupiter.
The pug is not a happy thing 😂
It's amazing where the time disappears to isn't it
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but there appears to be two episodes of LGAL numbered 11.
Not anymore!
I Think the other remote is from the older bachmann in the US I think. I daw test remote in a older ad in bachmann E-z Track. Some OF the older bachmann Locomotives have Plastic gears. Sadly nine OF them last long tho cause the gears and axels crack over Times and there noise level is tao loud for a loco. I Dont think the bachmann branch Line series dont have them. Iam not Realty an expert ON bachmann branch Line.
There was a problem with the plastic axles splitting too.
Doe's this mean your going to build a full layout now? ☺
If only I had the space...
Dear Lord thats a lot OF stuff. You might as well build a table for the Locomotive and the layout.
If only I had the space!
Cool
Thanks!
@@lmm np
Read the paper that's a bunus
Use graphite powder to clean tracks
I'll give it a go!
@@lmm it's a really good track cleaner. Lasts about 6 months and you only need to place a little bit then run a loco over it
This guy is like a model train bob ross
I'll take that 😂
NOW BUILD A HUGE LAYOUT !!!!!
I would love to if I had the space!
i have never heard anyone call points or switches turnouts , do lots of people who live near you say turnouts insted of points ?
We don't really say switch.
Point or turnout is common, generally points though
The Bachmann controller is NOT better than the Hornby one the Hornby is a basic starter unit the bachmann is the same a starter controller but has NO internal thermal cut out so it will happily keep pumping electric to you train until it over heats and there a fire . But great video love model railways
I much prefer the feel and control of the Bachmann one. The thermal cutout of the Hornby has always been far too sensitive.
What is producent and number this platform?
Just say thats enough out of 4 boxes
Hopefully have enough by then
oooooh 101 my first train
It's a lovely little tank
I think you should make yourself into a model person, a driver perhaps.
I've thought about it a few times - it might be something that happens in the future!
By the the Looks of you got Train Tarded By the Amount of Track My Advise Work it Slow Don’t Rush it little By Little that’s How to Approach it. Good luck on it.
I've never heard that expression before

Good box of stuff

Are you ever not enthusiastic about anything? You're videos are more infective than Corona. Please keep them coming. I'd still give the wheels and track a rub down. The Pug looks a bit dirty wheely.
Modern cars? If it appears on the channel its pretty much because I like it 😂
