    Here's the real question, is the Omni Deck a trick deck? Let us know what you think!

      The Phantom Deck is for sure, and I'd call the Omni Deck a trick deck too.

    Tricks get better exposure this way.

    • @studlyhungwell
      @studlyhungwell 5 місяців тому +1

      @@beef623 My guess is that Svengali is a classic and Mirage is a variation. Mirage deck for me is the epitome of self working. I've been super cocky before but super successful in allowing the spectator to riffle shuffle and cut the deck for a pseudo Ambitious routine. It went over really well.
      Can't do that with a Sven. 😂

    The most amazing reactions I've had have been with the Invisible Deck.

  • @skakdosmer
    @skakdosmer Рік тому

    Learning the secret of the svengali deck did not blow my mind. But seeing it used for the first time most certainly did! It was a different version than the one you describe, but working on the same principle. And when the entire deck turned blank on both sides, it fooled me so badly that I was almost surprised my head didn't explode. I've never seen any trick that got me even half as much! It was in a shopping centre with lots of indoor shops, streets and squares, where a magician was showing tricks for passers-by's and also selling tricks, and he was very good.

  • @chrisdoesscience1542
    @chrisdoesscience1542 2 роки тому +2

    My Favorite is the Invisible Deck. It's so simple to use and although it only has one effect, you can twist that effect into a lot of presentations. I do a mentalism act where I use the Invisible deck to predict the spectator's choice of card.

    • @stewedfishproductions7959
      @stewedfishproductions7959 8 місяців тому +2

      Exactly ! As soon as you change the whole deck to the force card, people KNOW you are using a 'trick' deck ! Much better to appear to be manipulating the cards through 'skill'... Also, use a Sven deck for a 'one-off', powerful trick _(the specs just thinking you are showing a trick with an ordinary deck);_ Such as a 'card stab' location - Chosen card appears at any number position in deck or a mechanical 'toy' locates a chosen card etc.

    I go completely the other way in ranking. For me, the stripper, svengali, marked, and invisible are the best. I tend to stay away from the single-trick decks. For single tricks I will opt for double backers and double facers in a regular deck, before I buy a specific single-trick deck. 😎

    If making your own Svengali, is there a sweet spot for how much shorter you make the force, rather like there are sweet spots for strippers?
    I find purchased Svengalis also chop all the length off one side, so it’s painfully obvious that the printing is off-centre.

    • @penguinmagicshop
      @penguinmagicshop  24 дні тому +1

      It's going to be different for everybody but you want to take off as little as possible. At the same time you want to make it usable so that you aren't flipping to the wrong cards.
      Many bicycle decks are printed off center. Some of these decks make it very easy to create a Svengali. If the border is wider on one side then that's the side that you cut.

    PLEASE ANSWER IF YOU CAN.......EVERY single deck of marked cards I have ever used are printed UPSIDE DOWN from MY view. It would be SUCH a pleasure if I could read the cards CORRECTLY printed the other way. The marks farthest from me are printed right. But the marks on MY end are always upside down and it just really makes me FUME....WHY??? I bought that 30$ deck of cards and the marks are INGENIOUSLY put in the design but they are SO VERY TINY I cannot even see them... I'm using Ted Leslies transfers right now but it takes SO MUCH TIME to create them but better than reading upside down. WHY DO THEY NOT FIX THIS????

    A GREAT effect to do with a stripper that you wouldn't think of is a TRUMPH routine. Truly mixed FU and FD and after a cut they all face the same way....There is a fantastic "trick" deck is you bring out a small card size envelope and a deck is shuffled cut and shown in random order. You give them the deck and they deal down cards until they want to stop. THE CARD THEY STOPPED AT MATCHES YOUR PREDICTION.....I forgot the name Does anyone know the name??? Every other card is ONE OF FOUR DUPLICATES....say AC, 4H, KS, 9D.....every other card is one of these four cards so no matter where they stop either the dealt card or the top card of the deck is ONE of these 4 cards. They are spaced so far apart it isn't noticed,,,,,,I would not use an ACE or QUEEN or KING.bc they aremore noticed even though they are every 10 cards apart.your prediction are double faced so you dump it out so the right side shows.
