    I have to say that I still do the Sven deck day in and day out and it still rocks people! It has all the elements of a great card trick. Impossible prediction, ambitious card, deck change and impossible location. It has everything! When performed correctly it is a wonderful routine.

    The Svengali deck with the card that we had that had swapped with 6 of clubs had me messed up...Good Work, keep it up!

    I just turned 71. When I was about 8, my father showed me a card trick. He riffled the deck and asked me to say stop. I did. The card I had him stop at was the 8 of clubs.
    Then he told me to think of that card. While I did, he riffled through the deck again, showing me that every card had turned to an 8 of clubs. At that point in my life, 2 things happened: 1: I was convinced my father was a strange visitor from another planet, who came to Earth with powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal men. And 2: it began my life-long love of magic.
    That deck, which I assume was the Svengali deck, is still relevant today, as is the stripper deck.

    I only use it for the 51 to 1 trick, whatever number the person wants me to stop at is always the svengali number put aside in a card box, works every time effortlessly, u can riffle through the pack at the start to show all different 🤗🤗

    I personally don't find card magic to be my favorite but I'm trying to learn it because I think it provides a good foundation on the techniques of magic am I off base ? What says you Mr.Doug.? Can the fundamentals of magic be learned without cards or is a magician that doesn't know card sleights an incomplete magician?

    • @DougConn
      @DougConn  3 роки тому +1

      The wonderful thing about Magic is: you can do it 1000 different ways and everyone of those can be right….
      Playing cards have an advantage in that,their identities lend them selves to so many plots... and I would say, yes, basic card magic should be part of your studies
      That said, ya don’t have to do any card tricks!
      You do you.
