YES yes yes! I'm 67. 3 or so years ago I decided to get out of a bad marriage that left me riddled with anxiety. I was 'getting old', felt trapped, my world was getting smaller and smaller. i pulled up stakes and downsized, moved across the whole country to live in CT to be with my 95 year old mom (who is definitely NOT old and often says 'when i get old'!). post divorce i am shedding my old self. i got a new driver's license and the dmv guy candidly said after handing me my new photo id, 'looks like you're 20 years younger'. the change is remarkable. i never wore much besides gray and black, but now i'm wearing hot pink! i'm liking all kinds of new things! i do attribute this all to drawing near to my beloved Jesus, without a doubt! and i am allowing myself to play, to buy myself things, to wear makeup, to spend time with my hair... like i did when i was 20. i do allow myself to say no to most night driving, but who knows, that might be shed in time too! i received the great gift of being given a second chance on life. it was very hard to leave my old life. but i grew an endurance from it all. Praise God! I'm getting my life back!
Oh God bless you! What an inspiring story you just told here. Thank you for sharing an being an inspitation to me and many others here on this forum. I think you are amazing!
Hahaha, I’m turning 80 in 16 days and I don’t feel old. My mind is very young but my body is telling me something different. At least I’m pretty active with Zumba dancing and walking one mile at home. I’m as good as it gets!!!!!
What great content - in this country we do become invisible at a certain age - but I’m going to make damn sure people continue to see me - stay vibrant ladies!!!
Hi Kimberly, I am 73 years young and I agree with you 100%. I have never felt old or my age for that matter. I do take care of myself and just want to be the best version of me that I can be. Not trying to look younger, just healthy. Thank you for all your content always; it seems to be relevant to what I'm thinking many times. I love that you are helping many people, especially me. Love ya!
I could have written this exact same thing! Life is good, my health is good and I am grateful. I still want to take care of myself physically and outwardly to present the best version of myself that I can. I believe I owe that to ME! Noe, sometimes the mirror reflects a different view, but I’m ok with that. Truly a realization that your health is you most precious asset. Thanks for a timely reminder and Happy Birthday…70’s are wonderful 🎺🎂❤
Absolutely, Kimberly-thank you for sparking this conversation! I've always pictured my life as a vibrant, active journey, no matter the years. I recently chatted with a friend who shared she’s worn out from the daily grind. I get it. Since starting work at 15 (and babysitting before that!), I know that feeling all too well. I'll be 52 next month, and while I've enjoyed my career, I'm ready for a life beyond the work-eat-sleep cycle. For the past three years, I’ve been tuning in to discover what’s next-because this next chapter is about finding joy and a meaningful way to contribute. There’s so much life out there waiting for us. Here’s to embracing every moment! 🌟
This was a great chat Kimberly!!! interestingly, I came to the same conclusion about my life earlier this year! Since childhood I’ve always felt I would live around 100 years. Now 69, I was going oh geez I’ve got 30 more years to go!!! That’s a lot of time to grow, evolve, have fun and make the world better!!!YAY!!! And I was speculating on how fun it would be to see my grandsons in their 30’s & 40’s!!! 🤣 I love the stuff you think about and share with us, thank you so much!!!❤❤❤ PS. Your observations on homemade sourdough bread were totally cracking me up!!!
My daughter makes sourdough bread and I admire her for it. People that are “older” should be treated with love and respect, if only for what they KNOW. They are a wealth of information that we could all learn from!
Hi Kimberley - I think this is a really important discussion, and I really believe that ageism is the only acceptable 'ism' left. Like you, I'm 67, and I've noticed lately that although I work tirelessly to keep up with changes to technology and social mores, there doesn't appear to be any efforts made in the public space to make sure that 'seniors' are considered when governments and companies introduce new processes. In Australia, for example, our banks have encouraged (read-forced) us to embrace online transactions. I don't find this particularly difficult. However, I know some people, especially those without any office or admin-type experience, find this very stressful, and it seems to provide the perfect opportunity for these same people to fall victim to online scams and hacks when this happens, they are often further victimised by the very systems that are supposed to help them. I know that self-service checkouts, online shopping, ATMs, and apps to interface with everything is the 'modern' way, but it's not for everyone. I think people who struggle with these changes must feel very old!
ACTUALLY, the gel is a fabulous sale on their site. It really does feel better than any other gel I’ve tried. Thank you. Happy Birthday to you Pretty Lady. You are an incredible inspiration to me and so many others.
This is perfect timing for me. I turned 60 today. The number sounds so old but i dont think of myself as old. Thank you for reminding me age is a state of mind. Blessings.
I am 73 years old and aging gracefully. I don't feel "old" at all. I think everyone needs a purpose in their life. Without purpose, one can spiral into feeling old. My purpose is simple .. family and my dog. My dog makes me laugh from morning to night. She keeps me very active and I have so much love in my heart. Thank you for your refections of life. Made me think about myself and where I am at age 73.
It's not always a decsion, but I used to think it was.. At 69 being active, healthy and never even thinking about getting ""old", I got up one am to brush my teeth before work. and I hit the floor. I had a stroke. It was bad, I was in the hospital & rehab for months.Won't go into it, but genetic, something in my brain and nothing I could have done to stop it. In my head, my life changed in seconds, and now I am old. I don't know how long I'll be around. So if there's something you really want to do, do it while u can. Things don't always turn out like we think. I hope yours does though. xo
What an uplifting, inspiring and thoughtful video today!! I am 63 and so is my husband and we literally are told all the time that we live like we’re in our 40s. We never really thought about it. We just “DO”… we decided we are going to eat as best as we can (not forsaking the occasional French bakery). 😋 I love listening to your advice, and we move our bodies every day (strength training at least 3 x a week) My husband hits the gym and plays racquetball for 1 1/2 hours, 3 times a week and sometimes our kids worry about us. The differences is we don’t think about it…we-just “DO IT”!! Now we do know our limits and we would not head out this weekend rock climbing 😬 but we definitely wouldn’t be afraid to climb a mountain. I think you’re right , it’s all our mental attitude. We decide how we’re going to live !! Thank you for this thought-provoking and fun video today.
This is so timely. I just turned 64 and while I work hard at having a healthy lifestyle and am told often that I look much younger than I am, in some ways I feel myself slipping into an “old” lifestyle. I’m an introvert and homebody and need to get out more. My husband and I are also considering moving away from the town I grew up in to a new state, but it’s rather terrifying. You are so inspiring.
Hi Kimberly, I am 57 and i have never felt old. This is a great video to remind us all that we are all capable and can do anything we set our mind to and not to allow society to define us based on a number.
I was widowed at 47 and at 51 find myself struggling to get out the door. Thank you for your video. I have chosen to be young because I know I am. I put on my sparkly eyeshadow, deadhead my flowers, and hop back into bed thinking about how much I want to be out in the world again. I can literally feel my social skills atrophying but I'll get there. Baby steps. You are a breath of life, darling Kimberley.
100% agree. I'm 68 and continue to lift heavy, work out and stay healthy. I also still feel in my 30's and happily don't feel invisible. There is a mentality out there that says things like "wow, so you are killing it at the gym at this stage in your life?? " . Like I should just give it up??? People want to put others in a box. What is that about??? Makes me mad because I've stayed current and youthful in every single aspect of my life. Thanks for this video because I feel it constantly, and will continue to be my best and push back.
I made sourdough bread once but now just buy it. Same with homemade croissants which were as good as any bakery version. Time is money so I appreciate the bakers spending their time while I spend my money.
I turned 60 this year and work with people who are younger than me. I don’t feel like I’m any different than my 50 year old colleague. But, I do remember thinking my mom was old at 60, and she lived to 90. Your point is very valid. I appreciate you sharing tips for staying young. I found a wonderful organic produce farm in my area thanks to some of your previous videos. Doing all I can to stay young, fit and healthy. Keep up the great advice. You are inspiring. ❤
Hello! Kimberly, I have been thinking about this very same thing! In April, I turn 68 also. 😊 While I am working on changes to feel and look better, be stronger, I really don't feel old. Your video has encouraged me to go forward with more of an open view of who I am, and can be. Love you, love your channel ❤️
Such great timing for this video! I'm 67 and it just dawned on me this year that I should think about retirement 😂 I don't feel old enough to retire. So, like you, I'm thinking about all the possibilities for the next chapters. I really enjoyed this video. Thank you for saying what I've been thinking!
Hi Kimberly, About being/feeling old. We travel quite a bit, tours, cruises, and on our own. You can't feel old when you are active and travel. Everything is new and forces the brain to constantly adapt. That can be so rewarding. For those who cannot travel, I would suggest a daily outing, just doing something you don't normally do. Go to a different store, for example. Mix it up and make your life interesting. My motto is do it while you can and live without regrets. Love you!
I’m really hearing what you are saying. My husband and I spent 119 days in a small RV this summer - traveling and hiking every single day. I turned 59 in August and my husband is almost 67. We hiked so much on this trip that midway through we were hiking 14 mile hikes with 3,000 plus elevation gain - blowing our own minds. We met so many other hikers - our age - doing the same. We live outside Clearwater Florida. There are a lot of active seniors. The difference is, the majority of them are wearing knee and elbow braces, partying and eating and drinking like I never even did in my twenties. They don’t necessarily think they are old - because they are not acting like it, but their bodies are so inflamed and feeling old and they think this is just an inevitable part of aging. It’s not! They don’t have a tribe of people to show them that old doesn’t have to mean pain. It’s a choice. I love that you are giving so many women an example of healthy aging and grateful happiness and sharing with them the not so obvious choices that are available. The world needs this! Bless you.
My partner took on this task and has been learning how to make organic sourdough bread. We had his first baked loaf a few nights ago. So good. But yes a lot of work
I think it’s a matter of health and you should consider yourself blessed!! I am 63 and have been diabetic for 30 years, had cancer, and now in what should be my golden years I am dealing with spinal stenosis amongst other back issues, and I am on a long list of meds. Trust me Kimberly, I am old!!!
I turned 70 last month and don't feel old. However in the last two years since my husband passed I have had many physical issues, thus making me feel old. I am on the mend some now and hope to become more mobile as time goes on. I don't feel old in my head, my body is telling me something different. Blessings to you from Texas..
I love you so much, Kimberly! At 64, I am excited that I am in a season of my life where I am free of the obligations of childrearing and timeclocks, and it is an awesome adventure! All the gals my age that I know seem to have settled into a "Grandma" mindset and I feel like I am alone not having that rocking chair mentality. I feel as if I have to push back against being forced to feel invisible and past my expiration date. I do believe that our health status has a lot to do with how we view our age, but the flip side is that I believe our mindset has a tremendous impact on our health status, both psychologically AND physically. You can literally "think yourself old". My intention is to set the example, as you do, of what a mature woman can experience and achieve. It is truly challenging the agest agenda 😉
Hi Kimberly, I'm 65 and am not old yet! I have at least another 10 years to raise my grandson and watch him become an upstanding man who treats women and others with respect and empathy. By the way, our local Farmers market has vendors who sell homemade sour dough bread for $5! What a deal. Hope you have a great week!
I’ll be 71 in May and don’t feel old at all. Still working as a consultant and my grown children and grandchildren are my priority. Not interested in a lot of traveling and spending money exploring. I’m so happy single and very content which I’m so thankful for.
Hi Kimberly, I am 64 years young! I have decided that I am going to stay young, fit, and healthy for the rest of my life!!! Thank you for all that you give to this wonderful community. ❤ Blessings to all! 🙏
I will be 86 this month and I don’t feel old. I can still do what I want to do - the only things I can’t do are because of things beside age and health. I will admit, though, that my lower back feels old sometimes.
Happy Bday Scorps! You and me share the month of November. I have never felt and will never feel old and dated. Not into sitting still and want to be more involved than ever before. Turning 58 in a week and I want to keep moving. Eat clean, supplement with vitamins and keep your attitude upbeat and live life. Love you and the channel
Love you and your channel. 71 yrs old, just retired in June and there are days that I feel old. I needed to hear your words today, now inspired to get up and move and continue with the young mindset. Thank you.
Such a great message and food for thought. I recognize that we are not all the same. I ditched the dye and went 100% natural with my hair color and received “input” that I was going to “look” old. Well the complete opposite happened- it gave me so much more confidence because I feel free and “young”! Cheers to us and mindset. 🌻🌻🌻
It is a choice. I'm going to be 72 and next week I'm starting a weight lifting class and I'm excited about it.. also trying intermittent fasting. My girlfriends that think they are old, I find myself distancing from them. Kinda sad but yet to hear about aches and pains gets depressing.
Thank you for this video, I’m 63 and although I have some health issues I don’t consider myself old. I still do things and I dress nice but not like a teenager. No plaid here, no gray hair, still wear make-up but accordingly. .. I’ll never dress or look old. My health might be that of an old person but it will never be visible to the naked eye not as long as I can help it.
I want to be the first in my family history to not fall into the old mindset. I'm 61 and I can honestly say each decade is better than last! Great discussion ❤🎉🎉🎉
Not old but older and wiser. A new season of life, spending time with family and investing in our grands lives. Praying for Gods direction for this new season. ❤❤❤
Good video! I find myself sometimes saying "can I really wear that" "should I really be doing that" thinking that now that I am over 60 I should dress and act a certain way. Sometimes I give in and sometimes I throw caution to the wind. I will say that doing things you consider "old" doesn't mean that you have to fully commit to "old". I starting crocheting again but I love doing different, odd, creative items. At first I thought I had to give this up because crocheting is what old ladies do. But then my daughter asked me for one of my scarves and said it was cool! I can be a cool old broad! thanks for bringing up this topic.
66 here. I think back to my mom and she seemed much older at 66. I don’t feel old. My body does remind me sometimes that I am no longer 30 but I am determined to stay “young “ as long as possible!
I’ll be 57 this week. I feel like I’m 32. I might not look 32 but I certainly don’t look like what I always thought being “old” would look like back when I thought 57 was old. As a kid in the late 70’s I remember my mom had 2 aunts we were close with. We definitely considered them old and they looked the part! Neither drove, they would get their short hair “set” weekly. My dad would pick them up once a week to take them to do their banking and grocery shopping. Just last night I was talking about this with my dad and sister. I asked dad how old these 2 aunts were back then as I now know they couldn’t have been that old. He told us they were “in their 50’s”! My how times have changed! Back then 50’s were considered old and most people looked AND played the part! Kimberly, I’m with you on always having an end age in my head. God willing I’ll see if I’m right or close to it. If I am, I’ve still got a lot of living to do and I won’t be doing it as an “old person”! Side note on the sour dough bread…. I’m with you! I considered doing it myself until I found out the commitment involved. I have chickens, a dog, and a husband to feed every day. I am not about to add a starter to that list! No thank you! 😊
I love this Kimberly! I am 59 and definitely do not feel old! I have friends that think they are old and talk old but I do not subscribe to that! A problem that is present, however is our culture, especially in the US that may decide who is old, but specially in the work force. Also my ex decide I was old. 🙄 But he’s alone and miserable now so that’s on him. Like you, I stay very active and eat well. I’m still working as a teacher but am creating my own business so I don’t have to worry about the workforce stigma of youth anymore. I am looking forward to a new chapter, a new 30+ years and more! 🎉🎉🎉
Oh, wow, you read my mind! Turned 75 last week, mistaken for much younger and feel much younger. Sometimes, I actually have to stop and do the math because I simply don't feel like what I thought 75 would feel like. Fortunately, my husband is active and young-thinking, too. I often look around me at women in particular who are my age and am stunned at how "old" they look and act. It's hard to find like-minded people as we age which has inspired a lifestyle visit to the Villages in February. Thanks for this video and making me realize I'm not alone in my thinking.
I decided to go back into acting and changed from stage to film when I was 60. Not an ideal age that one would think to start such a life. I got cast after my first audition. It’s been hard with a pandemic, an actors strike and then low production this year, but it doesn’t stop me. Maybe there are less roles. But I’m not going to focus on that. What else am I going to do with my time? I still work full time. And then pursue where I am challenged and feel the most alive. If you had told me ten years ago that I would be doing this I would have laughed. Even though it’s the thing I love the most. Got out of the marriage that diminished me and decided to live the life I was meant to live.
What?! I make organic sourdough every week and it's easy, though there is a learning curve. The loaves may not always turn out perfect but they're still really good. 😅
Yep, I'm O L D! I'm 70 and I think it's easier, less stressful to accept I'm old. Now Old is different for everyone. I am working on accepting I'm not as strong as I once was. (I no longer lift furniture). I decided to go gray. I am more excepting that I don't have to meet society's defination of beauty. I stopped driving this year. I had 2 situations to happen while driving and it scared me. My and others safety is more important than my EGO. Asking for help has been one of my biggest hurdles. I was ashamed to use my cane for a while. Using that cane ment I was a failure. I have gotten past that finally! One of the doctor's I use to work for said" Old age is not for sissies" So true!
I believe your health is all important as we age. Some of us may be in the throes of declining health we have no control over. I’m 78 & my health situation can change from day to day. Some days I feel great & I can do a lot!! Other days… not so much. If I were able to actually choose, I would choose differently for my life. Unfortunately, we don’t always get to choose. But, inside; I’m young & happy!!
I just turned 68 too! And, I don't feel or act old! My BF, who is a year older than me, constantly says things like "I don't have very many years left" even though she is healthier and more fit than I am. She walks 3-4 miles a day, rides her e-bike 20-40 miles a wk.etc. But, she has adopted an old attitude despite those things. I would never say "oh, I'm getting old". It's just not in my vocabulary! I also have a very specific reason for wanting to live a healthy, long life and that is because I am the only caretaker for my 40 yr.old disabled daughter. I want to be able to care for her for 30 more years!! I always tell her she will need to help me out someday but she's the one who will need me to be there for her as long as I possibly can! I told my Dr., I have to live to at least 100, for the reasons I mentioned, and she just laughed! I don't go to her anymore! My philosophy, age is just a number and ageing is living!!
I don't know about the " old" label. The fact is, no one knows how long they have. I believe in the present moment, living to your full capacity, living life and being grateful for it. Being old has enabled me to retire. Being old has given me 2 beautiful grandchildren, made me realize my 36 year old marriage has been a success, and given me wisdom not to sweat the small stuff anymore. My best friend has been my best friend for 55 years!!! How cool is that! There is beauty in all stages, but some stuff can only happen to you because you have become "old" So, so grateful for what my 68 years has given me.
Great video Kimberly. I started my you tube channel at 70 only 7 months ago. I have been taking care of myself my whole life. I feel the same as you. It’s funny since I have been announcing my age in my videos I am more aware of my age. But before. Never even thought about it. I am super heathy and don’t feel old at all. Unless I start to think of what other people think of age. ❤
Oh wow!! I'm nearly 64 and have my ups and downs about age in my head ... I still LOVE going to LIVE music concerts and shows and often wonder what the 'younger' people are thinking about this 'old' lady around here jiving away to the beat ... From now on, I'm just going to enjoy every minute - this is MY life! Thank you for the inspiration!!
I just turned 64. I am stronger now than I was 20 years ago. Increased my strength training. I am working on a goal to do a pullup by the end of the year. I have been thinking about retirement, co-workers my age are retiring but I would like to have a second career in health and wellness. I am ready to not work 12-hour night shifts! Our population is very unhealthy. As a bedside nurse for 40 years, I have seen the increase of chronic disease, 40-year-olds can be less healthy than an 80-year-old. Exercising to keep your muscles strong is a must and improve your balance to help prevent falling and breaking a hip!
Excellent subject. I am in disbelief that I am 70 now. I keep asking how in the world I am 70. When I was younger, old to me was indeed 70, but I don't feel that way now. Thank you for these points today. By the way, your skin looks amazing. Not that it doesn't always look great, but did you do something different in makeup or skincare today? Oh, please share.
Hello Kimberly. You look radiant today! Your skin is fantastic! I hope to look like you in 9 years :) I loved the reflection you made: whether we are old or not. I always feel like I'm around 30, but my body keeps reminding me that's not the case anymore. In reality, my life is much better than it was 30 years ago. I used to worry more about how others perceived me, for example. Now that I am 59, I feel I am better. Time and life experiences have taught me a lot, and that’s wonderful. I don't feel old; I feel wiser. More aware of what I want and what I don't want in my life. That’s amazing. The French have a fantastic word for it: 'sagesse.' It says it all. I have almost no regrets when I look back and think about everything I've done or haven’t done. I feel like I've lived a full life, and for that reason, I think I can keep living this same life, perhaps just at a little slower :)) When I was 20 and my grandmother was 64, I thought she was a bit old, but even so, I never saw her falter because of her age. She was always a force of nature. Maybe that’s why I have this outlook on life. Many of my friends are like me: they care about their physical well-being and lead active lives. Others, not so much; they already tell me they’re too old for certain things, which is a shame
Hey Kimberley sometimes people start to feel older they way they lead their lives I agree with you some of my friends tend to to say I can’t do that I’m to old & my answer is you’re never too old if you’re well enough to do whatever See you soon take care ❤
Hi Kimberly, thank you for the thought provoking video! I think I’ll always be a youngster just by my nature of always being curious and interested in things and excited to learn new things. I have never thought about my friends though and seeing where they are in life as far as this whole aging thing goes. I’m excited to have a think about it and maybe learn something new in the process.
Completely agree on the experience dismissal. I don’t think of myself as old. I look at younger people by 10 years and think they are older. I attribute it to people use “I’m old” as an excuse for not taking care of themselves…then they feel old and begin to act old. I’m envision myself as active and thinking the same if graced by God to be 90. I have a neighbor who is fit, fashionable, active, smart…she recently told me she’ll be 90 next year. She is my idol. You just said, adopted an old lifestyle, we’re saying the same thing…so I’m in agreement in with you 100%.
No way am I old! 63. I never thought I would see 60😅. Great topic Kimberly as always. Have an amazing Birthday! Have you been on any Adventures yet? Have a great week
Im 65, 66 soon, and mentally I don’t feel old at all, I kind of feel like I’m still about 22; physically, I have my moments and feel frustrated with my body-I have a few health challenges that I’m battling that can sometimes limit me more than I would like. Yet, I continue to press forward and am trying to turn those things around. I will go just about anywhere by myself without giving it a thought, I hike, kayak, garden, workout, swim (in the summer), and more. Sometimes I forget my age and then get amused when I remember or get reminded of it. A younger family member said to me a few months ago that they thought it was important that we stay connected through the friend finder app since I’m getting older and you never know! Haha, I laughed at that
I make all kineds of baked goods including sourdough everything....I don't follow all the procedures....I just put sourdough in any bread recipe till the dough looks nice and bake it.....
I’ll be 61 in January and I don’t feel old. I do feel a little slower than when I was younger but mentally I think I’m still 40 lol. I’m looking forward to retirement so I can do all of the fun things that I don’t have time for while I’m working. A rocking chair for relaxing and reading a book or drinking a cup of coffee on the porch but not for sitting because I’m “old”.
Hi Kimberly. I'm so afraid of using these face devices as most of my teeth are implants. My main problem are wrinkles around the mouth. I think Amazon has opened in South Africa. I'm 71 but still feel very young. Love your videos.
I think you do have to be careful of certain devices if you have certain types of dental work. That is a good question for PennSmith Skincare (wonderful channel) here on UA-cam.
The "old" saying is very true...... You're as young as you feel!! Some people are feeling old at 60 and beyond because they have made bad choices but the people who take care of their health and stay fit do not "feel" old and are able to continue to do things that young people do. However no matter how well we take care of our selves or not, God Almighty can take us at anytime. But as for me, I want Him to take me home feeling young no matter how old I get!!
I turned 59 a few days ago and realized that I am almost 60!!! I don't feel like that is old anymore. I do have to say though that I think about how many more years I will be blessed with. Interesting thoughts/discussions.
I think its all about your attitude in ageing! I turned 68 in September, I dont feel old, except...and here comes the big but......I have had two hip replacements and now I am looking at a knee replacement in February, I would never ever had believed that this would have happened to me, apparently it is genetics.....at first I was mortified and felt ancient....but hey its a few cards I have been dealt with, but, I still feel ok inside, I dress uptodate without over doing it!!!..mobility has been a bit tricky but I still walk , I love makeup, I have grandchildren who make me laugh!!! so even after some health challenges I wont let it dictate my demise...I look at it like this new hips, new knee yeah raring to go....will maybe not full speed but certainly, wont let it stop me!!!! so 68 may feel old to some, but its definitely how you look at things!!!! thanks for a great conversation....my dear mum used to say its never too late to change things and dont think old!!!!!!......cheers, from Margaret in South Australia....
I love this! and it certainly hit home with me. I also have friends who have decided that they are old and other friends who don't let age rule their lives. Thanks for reminding me it's all about mindset and attitude.
My Dad always said old was 10 years older than you are now. I'm in my seventies now and think he may have been right. My doctor told me when I turned 65 I was now considered elderly! I think she was wrong.
I never really felt old but after my husband passed away in December of 2019 I knew I needed to start taking care of ME after taking care of him for several years. I’ve usually done the milestones stuff later than most as I married my dear hubby at 36, had my first child at 37 and twins at 41. My twins took after their dad and didn’t get married until they were 33 and 34. I finally got my first grandchild this year in January and my second is due next May. What helped me “take care of ME” was finding an experimental exercise class developed by two doctors of physical therapy and based on CrossFit training BUT designed for us over 55. These guys specialize in the older adult and didn’t limit what we tried because we might get hurt. I started lifting weights at 72 and my best is over my body weight. I can still deadlift 120 lbs at nearly 77. I’m known as “Super Sue” at the gym. I have to take care of me in order to be around for my grandkids! Oh by the way I have had both knees replaced and a hip replaced and I’m still lifting so don’t think you “can’t “ do it. Just try. Find a group like my StrongerLife and get going!
I’m stunned that I heard this video today, Kimberly! I have a girlfriend who has done exactly that. She has decided she’s old and she makes comments about. I can’t do this anymore. I’m too old for that or I can’t wear this anymore, etc. etc. I am just a couple of months younger than you and I feel the best I’ve ever felt in my life and I’m definitely in the best shape of my life. Thanks to good exercise and feeding my body properly most of the time! Lol. Reach out when you head to the Orlando area so we can jump on that boat ride in Winter Park! I know you will love it. Keep up the good work, girl! 🌻
I am 61 years old. I decided I was old about 3 years ago. THEN, I found Beverly’s channel a few months ago. I have made many changes already. I have started taking care of my skin. I started walking and eating much healthier foods. I have lost almost 30 pounds and feel better than I have in over a decade. I even booked my first cruise for February!! Thank you Beverly you have helped me get my youth back. I will always be grateful to you for that.
Oh that just made my day 😘
@@karenpiehl491 I'm glad to hear that 💚
Hahaha, I’m turning 80 in 16 days and I don’t feel old. My mind is very young but my body is telling me something different. At least I’m pretty active with Zumba dancing and walking one mile at home. I’m as good as it gets!!!!!
Brilliant to hear
May God continue blessing you
What great content - in this country we do become invisible at a certain age - but I’m going to make damn sure people continue to see me - stay vibrant ladies!!!
Not just the US, think people are invisible already in their 50s and 60s in most of the western world
You are glowing today. Your skin looks fabulous!
She looks sweaty and shiny
🤣 I love the stuff you think about and share with us, thank you so much!!!❤❤❤
PS.
I hope yours does though. xo
This was a wonderful discussion! I turn 67 in Jan. Lost my husband of 37 years 2 years ago and figuring out what the future looks like!
Your skin looks beautiful today! ❤
I’m 75, but I’m definitely NOT old. I’ve never been happier!
Love it! 🙌
What an uplifting, inspiring and thoughtful video today!! I am 63 and so is my husband and we literally are told all the time that we live like we’re in our 40s. We never really thought about it. We just “DO”… we decided we are going to eat as best as we can (not forsaking the occasional French bakery). 😋
I love listening to your advice, and we move our bodies every day (strength training at least 3 x a week) My husband hits the gym and plays racquetball for 1 1/2 hours, 3 times a week and sometimes our kids worry about us.
I think I needed to watch this right now - your age you can’t change, but you can choose to ignore the number and just be how you feel in yourself.
🌻🌻🌻
I'll be 72 on 11/22 and, knee pain aside, I feel honestly about half that! 😂
I’m 60, my young coworkers think I’m old and should start thinking about retirement. I thought the same when I was 35, 60 was ancient!
I’ll 66 and feel young! Just retired and ready to start an active life.
Congrats and cheers! 🌻🌻🌻
This is a great reminder about mindset. Thank you! ❤
Yes! I am 58 years young! All in attitude and I LOVE yours!
@@salsarmemimi7292I do understand!
Blessings to all!
Yes agree you have to keep away from negative people
They zap your energy
I am 63 yrs young, and on my next birthday, I’ll be turning 30! 😊
I am with you - I have turned 39 for 15 years 😜
Thank you for this video, I’m 63 and although I have some health issues I don’t consider myself old. I still do things and I dress nice but not like a teenager. No plaid here, no gray hair, still wear make-up but accordingly. ..
I’ll never dress or look old. My health might be that of an old person but it will never be visible to the naked eye not as long as I can help it.
I love the wisdom you share with this 52yr old -going through things .💕
I have some girlfriends my age (64) that are slipping into that "old" mindset. I keep telling them we may be older, but not OLD!
I want to be the first in my family history to not fall into the old mindset. I'm 61 and I can honestly say each decade is better than last! Great discussion ❤🎉🎉🎉
I don’t know what’s going on with YT but I’m not getting notifications about your videos anymore!!!
Neither drove, they would get their short
hair “set” weekly.
Good point! Thanks for expressing this so eloquently!!
There is beauty in all stages, but some stuff can only happen to you because you have become "old"
So, so grateful for what my 68 years has given me.
I love making my homemade bread ones in the oven baking. Smells amazing 😊
The part about seasons and how many we have seen really resonated with me - thank you
Hello Kimberly.
Please tell us what you used on your skin today…you look fabulously young.
Hey Kimberley sometimes people start to feel older they way they lead their lives
I agree with you some of my friends tend to to say I can’t do that I’m to old & my answer is you’re never too old if you’re well enough to do whatever
See you soon take care ❤
This was lovely and encouraging and I agree 🎉
ohhhh Kimberly! You took the wrong class! I hold monthly workshops and I make it easy! if you ever in the Charlotte let me know! I’ll show you!
💕💕💕 57 yrs old
Thankyou 🍃
Is the Nebulyft the same as NuFace??
Hi Kimberly, l am 65 years old, some days I feel order, especially if l do to much exercise the day before, hugsssss ❤❤❤
Thank you for this post and reinforcement of my own thought process. Let go do the things!
I turn 68 next year and I enjoyed hearing what you said. I have so much going on and don’t intend to slow down if I can help it
Completely agree on the experience dismissal.
Your skin is looking amazing in this video!
Good points, Kimberley!
Do you need to use Nebulifts gel? It is kind of pricey.
Thanks for reminding me it's all about mindset and attitude.
love your optimism
My Dad always said old was 10 years older than you are now. I'm in my seventies now and think he may have been right. My doctor told me when I turned 65 I was now considered elderly! I think she was wrong.
I like his thinking!! 😊
Wow your skin looks luminous!
Just turned 68 in September and I am not old.😅
I am 61 years old.
