I´m totally with you on that. The only way they could make this game work for me is if multiplayer is optional, like in Elite:Dangerous, where you can choose for each session if you play private, with friends or open. But a forced MMO aspect is a huge "nope" for me. I don´t want to come online to see that someone raided my base and much more important - I don´t want to have to be constantly online to avoid something like this. A good game is one that I can toss aside for a month or two and then come back like nothing happened.
I am with you on this. Belonging to a guild, to be able to participate is a no-go. Loosing my base? A no-go. PVP only areas? I don't need a second life to work in, I just want to have fun. I'll take a look after launch how this is implemented, but the video got me sceptical.
I see it the opposite way, mmos are one of the few games that i’m glad don’t respect my time. Why should a continuous live server game with endless grinds just let me max stuff in a week of playing. Let’s you enjoy the game for years
If you played Conan Exiles you know exactly how this game is going to play out I really don't see any Innovative tech it will most likely be cookie-cutter pasting of skins and design from Conan exiles. Everything in their trailer they've shown off looks exactly like the same textures and environments and engine they use in Conan exile also. So don't hold your breath on anything groundbreaking.
I was wondering about how they will teach players not to use LasGuns vs shields because its deadly for both sides and I realy hope they will implement that way. Make the Lasgun the most effective one but with the drawback that it could terribly backfire to use it. I would like the mind game of "do I use it and have an easy game or will it explode in my face like a nuke, a literal one and better leave it at home?" BUT my guess will be that players will just stop either of these because of the meta. Second thought was. What stops you from using a shield to lure a worm into the enemys, well except lots of enemy weaponfire of course ^_^ I mean, wait in ambush, sneak in behind them and activate your shield. Sure you might loose your stuff but sacrificing one person to get ride of an entire enemy guild. Sounds like a trade players would use alt-accounts for. Thinking about alt-accounts. That would be such an nasty exploid for this game. Create suicide bombers left and right with the use of shields and Lasguns.
Yes if they make the Lasgun 1, super high risk/high reward to use, and 2, expensive to make so you don't want to risk it blowing up, it could make for a really cool late game weapon that can still be countered with a bit of strategy
Hopefully it's good. I can't imagine spending half a day in a water tent to be very thrilling. Would be cool if you could dig in the sand. If a worm eats you is your character gone? Can you play as a big fat guy in a levitation suit? Lots of questions.
You must go!... yes, You must go and collect the spice of the desert. You and your buddies all must go and collect the spice. When you go to collect the spice, you will see other people with their buddies who are also collecting the spice of the desert. Obviously there isn't enough room in the desert for more than one group of buddies who're collecting spice, so you must fight to assert your dominance. But wait?... Is that a Giant sand worm? Oh noes!..... That's what combat is gonna be like, bro.
I love almost everything about this video. The game looks to be derivative of both the films and the books. The open MMORPG feel is going to be great, with a whole Arrakis to run around on and harvest spice and avoid sandworms. I’ve been waiting my whole life for a proper Dune game. I will be there on Day 1, training alongside the faithful, facing fear, the mindkiller. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past, I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain. The only bit of the video I don’t like is all these people with copies of Dune sitting on their desks and shelves that have clearly never been opened. I would much rather see a copy on that desk that is dog-eared, the binding just completely run through, pages crinkled here and there, because they read bits of it and draw upon it for inspiration every day. Just having a shiny, brand new copy thar probably still smells of binding glue is just cheesy.
I hope you guys slow it down and take your time with this game, it’s 2023 I should not see the character model disappearing and ploping mysteriously in the vehicle when I hit a button, take the time and add an animation that shows them walking in. It’s not that hard and it’s worth adding such details to entertain the notion of immersion. Immersion being the factor of the game being seemingly close to reality with a slight edge on top.
Cro solo players are smaller clan people cuz a lot of us don't actually have people to play with can we please get some type of companion system to help us out. Cuz like I play Conan Exiles and I love that game but half the time it's usually either I'm by myself or maybe there's two or three other people that are with me half the time and if you're so it's harder for small Man groups to get stuff done so I can Wintergreen fully by all the bigger Clans. It just makes it a lot easier to have the ai's to back us up in like combat situations would help carry stuff but it would just make it a lot easier. PS I'm really hoping that there is a storyline quest in other stuff we can do I like survival games but a lot of times people get bored cuz there's nothing really do besides the same old same old so having some storylines and Quest some other stuff to do within the world would make it that much more interesting like I played small survival games xqf storylines and I actually played them a lot more due to the fact that there was things to do besides just arrived and build. Interesting ideas for example would be adding Quest shootings them can do four different factions that are more powerful to get unique items clothes armor weapons skins for vehicles cute ideas here. If you have read all of this you are awesome and sorry for any autocorrect
this game alone could be what gets more people into Dune, the movies did a good job, but nothing beats a videogame's storytelling and environmental lore to set the stage for what the world is like
my biggest issue and its one I cant seem to find an answer for is, is this going to be a rust clone? because rust is for kids on summer break or just too much time on their hands. I am interested in the game, but im 100% not interested if its just another rust/ark/ conan clone

"Most dangerous planet in the universe" , did you guys forget about Salusa secundus? Thats the reason the Sardaucar are the most threatening Fighters in the timeline until the first DUNE book.
Also riding bikes and rovers on Arrakis is a certain death call, as this would call a Shai-Hulud in no time.
Was hyped when I saw the first trailer, but most of the programmers probably havent even read the dune books. Looks like a typical MMORPG with the dune license
Dune is just as dangerous, probably more, which is why Fremen are superior to sardaukar
@@mostdumbestbitch Wouldnt say that Fremen are superior to Sardaukar in terms of fighting. Fedaykin probably are, but were teached my Paul himself. Would be important to know whether is before Jihad or after
@reddsoligarch Fremen are superior, which is why Hawat is so intent on getting some and there are constant pre-Feydakin moments where the Atredies are like "dude you just killed 20 Sardaukar" with the fremen replying "yeah, they put up a good fight" casually
Anarchy Online you say? Now I'm very intrigued.
As a dune fan for most of my life i couldn't be more pumped for this
As a dune fan for most of my life, I learnt patience. Hype is the mindkiller.
@@targard.quantumfrack6854 fear is the mind killer... leave your fears behind, and preorder lol
It looks like you filmed all the live action stuff in HDR but didn't process the footage in HDR, so it looks dim and desaturated
I have very high hopes for this. Initially i did not but after watching the interviews the dev team seems to be passionate about making this the best game they cab
I'm getting Planetside 2 in the Dune universe with RPG / Survival slapped on top vibes - Rather interesting I must say :)
Yeees 💚
someone chose a really grey filter when interviewing the developers, I thought something was off with my monitor lol.
I think I'm too old to enjoy MMOs anymore. MMOS do not respect my time, I just can't play them anymore. Good for teens and young adults though I guess, people who still feel they can afford to waste time with faffing about with wasting time doing mundane tasks.
Dude I feel you. The older I get the more I appreciate quality over quantity. I want short condensed experiences that leave me wanting more, not task lists and a million waypoints. I’m hoping we get some Dune games that fit that description because it’s a great story and world.
@@gerharddamm5933 I'm partially disabled and 61, boys. You may find that video games find a new, increased living space in your live some day. I have 470 hours registered on Steam in Cyberpunk 2077. I'll likely double that in the months after the Phantom Liberty expansion comes out. Lol... I also have a loving wife... still. Of course it helps that she is ten years younger than I and still in the midst of her career.😁
Beats hell out of crappy cable TV.
Let’s you enjoy the game for years
As someone who recently started the books but has always been a fan of dune i am very excited for this
But can you be nude? The most important setting on our Conan Exiles servers are the nude one. My friends refuse to play if they can't be pantsless
Yes, all nude
I would like the mind game of "do I use it and have an easy game or will it explode in my face like a nuke, a literal one and better leave it at home?"
BUT my guess will be that players will just stop either of these because of the meta.
Second thought was. What stops you from using a shield to lure a worm into the enemys, well except lots of enemy weaponfire of course ^_^
I mean, wait in ambush, sneak in behind them and activate your shield.
1:29 When I bought the "Earplugs for Shai-Hulud" donation
Finally a good dune game again , and yes , not counting spice wars...
I cannot wait to play this game!! Looks amazing and I love the books so I surely will love this game.
Hopefully it's good. I can't imagine spending half a day in a water tent to be very thrilling. Would be cool if you could dig in the sand. If a worm eats you is your character gone? Can you play as a big fat guy in a levitation suit? Lots of questions.
Sandstorms change the map weekly, this is great for longlivity, always wanted something like this for games like Rust or Conan Exiles
Really curious how the close combat will look. Cause in the books they're using fast and slow attacks
I really hope this is playable solo or with a few friends and that you aren't forced to join guilds.
Just having a shiny, brand new copy thar probably still smells of binding glue is just cheesy.
its not RPG, but MMO
@@SendisHere it definitely has RPG elements. MMORPG.
Oke
is this an actual mmo or similar to Conan with multiple small servers ?
Also will there be full loot ?
Started more like Conan Exiles, but upped to be like Age of Conan and now marketed as a true MMO. No mention about loot.
I'm super excited about this game. Praying for it to be good
June Awakening looks very exciting! I can’t wait to play
Fine. now i love the desert
Can't wait for this one!
Looks like too many rifles for a Dune setting. Kinda makes it look like battlefield with worms.
Can't wait to use the Sandworm to blow up players bases
Looks promising, nice to see a few new glimpses, e.g. of the character creation screen.
i can’t wait to run around as a solo in an ornithopter planting a worm thumper near someones base and then raiding them clean
no video game will ever replace the ttRPG experience
Sand bike? On Dune?! That sounds suicidal.
Hope there gonna be possible to setup private dedicated servers like what is possible in Conan Exiles. Anyway, I'm hyped for this game!
Immersion being the factor of the game being seemingly close to reality with a slight edge on top.
so you have shields and lasguns? but talk about the great convention,
you have sandbike that would attract the sandworms?
I love Nukklear. Very happy for them and love this new game. I'm in
Wish the team development the best, make a great game pls, at least a game worth playing in 2023/2024 PLEASE
this game alone could be what gets more people into Dune, the movies did a good job, but nothing beats a videogame's storytelling and environmental lore to set the stage for what the world is like
I’m a bit sceptical about those “sand bikes” riding in an open desert. I think this would immediately attract sand worm🤔
what makes you think they dont
I want that scarf wearing penguin.
Cannot wait for it on the PS5. THE SPICE MUST FLOW!!! HE WHO CONTROLS THE SPICE, CONTROLS THE UNIVERSE!!!

my biggest issue and its one I cant seem to find an answer for is, is this going to be a rust clone?
because rust is for kids on summer break or just too much time on their hands. I am interested in the game, but im 100% not interested if its just another rust/ark/ conan clone
Ben playing dune games since the battle for arakes
Okay. I am definitely hyped!
I cant wait for a shield to meet a lasgun and have someone blow up
I will be roleplaying with this game
Who is this guy talking at 12:36 ? - And, is it correct what he said we should call the game "June Awakening"?
Motorcycles on Dune, really? Just make the game's title "Desert Planet" or something like that and it will be good to play. But this isn't Dune
There are motorcycles in dune universe, you should read the 6 books
@@OneTomato which one are you talking about?
@@OneTomato i was reading the books , couldnt find any motorcycles that are looking like this for the desert and there 25 novels not only 6
@@WBK_KL Only 6 novels written by Frank Herbert. The rest don't really count.
Why is my heart making that sound? My heart should not be making that sound.
If it runs like Conan exiles we're in trouble.
Bring back Dune2 (SEGA)
I hope there is a decent character customization and first person camera option for me. I don't like third person at all.
Mentat and Bene geserit abilities exist. I guess its time to basically build our own Kwisatz Haderach. of course they will not include prescience.
I prefer when survival is more focused on a single player like 7 days to die with an options to play against other players
so whole game will be on only 1 map i mean only desert or there will be possible travel to other planets?!
How the developers balance between melee and ranged weapon? Because guns are too superior.. The players who love to use melee weapons are suffering against ranged weapon players..
Personal blue shields.
@@Sparkk0 what is that?
@@smarteditor8812 Lorewise sheilds basically made ranged weapons useless, though there's a funny interaction that if a laser that hits the shield basically creates a nuclear explosion, so most forces in the Dune universe reverted back to using melee weapons, I don't know how lore accurate the game will be though.
the likelihood that this game will flop is pretty high. I was excited until i realized that it would be an mmo. I thought this would be a single-player open-world experience similar to horizon zero dawn, which would've been a lot more promising to me. The scale of this reminds me of star citizen, and we all know how that game turned out.
This will probably be more like Conan Exiles tbh.
There is pvp areas and pve also. You can stay safe if you want to. I’m really exited for Dune Awakening. Beta 2023 and release next year will be perfect.
Being an MMO, they already set themselves for a failure. And it looks like it had more range combat, Dune should have limited range combat because of energy shields.
Dune Awakening takes place on 1 planet. Star Citizen has around 5 systems of planets. Also, tell me more about this crystal ball you have.
The game needs more Dynamic lighting. Way too much baked on lighting going on in the environment and characters
What engine are they using to build this?
If this is pretty much just an advanced futuristic version of Conan Exiles, then I'll be very happy.
I hope the "MMO" label is simply incorrect, the same way people label games like Conan Exiles and Ark as "MMOs", which they aren't, thankfully.
My definition of an MMO: 1000+ players on a server, and the shittiest most low-quality boring game ever made. So, I really hope this is not an actual MMO.
Looks pretty sick!
It’s not a prophecy. It’s a story.
ill try this, even if iits not done well
Footage looks very promising 💪 Hope that I will be picked for Beta tests and will be able to check the gameplay myself 🔥
Why is there like 2 or 3 songs playing in the background at all times?
Cannot wait
Seems still pretty early to be able to tell which way it will go, but I'm crossing my fingers here.
mas n entendi, vai ter veiculos ou n?
Can't wait to see people shooting at others wearing shields lmao. So many explosions. I can't wait.
Greatly looking forward to this game!
Umm.... did you all forget to colour correct your interview footage?
Soo awesome!
I dont think its a game for me but I think its cool they try to make Dune feel as hostile as it is in the book.
