The devs said it’d be impressive if he played the game normally, little did they know xamide is one of the top glitchless ultra nightmare runners as well. If you liked this you’d love his other runs even more, he puts his runs on UA-cam as well
The devs asked "Why don't you beat the game fast playing it the right way" to which the response can only be "Why don't you complete the game fast programming it the right way?" These bugs and exploits got into the game somehow and hint... it wasn't the speed runner who did it.
If the devs did leave messages for speedrunners and made some sort of AI that can identify if someone is moving through a level quickly that would be fantastic. It would help embrace more speed runners and by tightening up glitchs for speedrunners to break it would be a great move by id.

I like how one of them starts out a bit salty but ends up really respecting the runner. I know it kinda hurts to see all the beautiful stuff you made skipped, but the runners played through it, you can be sure of it. They played the game SO much to get to this point.
If they knew about speed running in general, they would know that: - These guys play the game A LOT. Hundred times more than the average player. They've seen it all. In fact, because of these crazy skips, they've probably seen more than they should. - Not all categories of speedrunning involve skipping absolutely everything. Glitchless% is a big thing in many games. - Speedrunners generally don't like it if you DO patch things. It really depends on how bad the glitch is to the average player. Most of the glitches in this specific run, a normal player will probably never encounter (who binds jump to mousewheel?). It's a gray area, but the general consensus is asking the question: does this improve the normal playthrough of the game or not?
@@tristen9736 They know this doesn't even slightly reflect upon the game or any players experience with it. Infact I'd be pumped if people devoted so much time and effort to my creation

these devs r so freakin lovable 😆💜
If the devs did leave messages for speedrunners and made some sort of AI that can identify if someone is moving through a level quickly that would be fantastic. It would help embrace more speed runners and by tightening up glitchs for speedrunners to break it would be a great move by id.
I love the rollercoaster-like emotions of being impressed at the skill, angry at the exploits, happy at the commitment, self-deprecating at the "flaws", & thinking up ways to "join in" next time.
Especially love every idea they had to troll [unskippable cutscene in the sky] & every one to reward [secret messages]
Right? This is what game devs should be instead of just money grabbers.
Now imagine if it was EA deving the game...
I love them so much
This is the kind of thing that made me want to preorder the deluxe edition, if I have to give my money to devs, it's to them they're awesome
I like how one of them starts out a bit salty but ends up really respecting the runner.
I know it kinda hurts to see all the beautiful stuff you made skipped, but the runners played through it, you can be sure of it. They played the game SO much to get to this point.
Nah he was just being dry. He’s joking the whole time
That’s hugo martin, our lord and saviour.
Nah they love it
If they knew about speed running in general, they would know that:
- These guys play the game A LOT.

Those devs are awesome. They see someone break the game they made and they're just like "We should follow the process of how he find out about this" and "In our next game, we will put troll messages in out of bound areas for the speedrunners to find them because they will find them eventually".
That's game developpers done perfectly right here. They just want to make the best game, and then take note from everything to make an even better game after that
yeah I was laughing so much on these ideas lol :D
The devs from Dusk did that, they put messages in case someone went out of bounds.
They could also spawn a type of grim reaper monster that if it touches you auto-death to increase the strain on the speed runners.
