Congrats To Denny, But I think Matt has a good future, he should definitely get a Ride next season. He Fought Hard, Got Second, Better Than 3RD. His Car Is Not The Fastest, Not Close To Denny's. He Deserves A Good Ride Next Season.

I was at this race. And seeing the performance Matty D put on made me a fan for life.
You guys missed a major part of the race. When Newman cut the leader off and damaged the 95's car...
They also left out an important restart just before the end of stage 2 that got Kurt upfront.
And where denny damaged the 95 car more so he couldn't catch back up

Love the effort by Matt. But Denny making a strong case for top 4 finalist. Many don't like to hear it. I don't like to admit it. But gotta give credit to a hot driver where it's due even though Harvick is my man. Wonder what's gonna happen in next few weeks here when the playoffs begin. I would like to see Larson or Jimmy get a win before it begins.

Ryan Newman didnt help things. He got into Matty D while he was lapping him @ the end. I'm not saying he would have won if that didnt happen but he would have had a better shot. Newman is one of the only drivers that won't give the leaders the right of way. He sucks anyway he should just retire @ this point.

Im just a friendly f1 fan wanting to hear real engines. This was suprisingly entertaining to watch.
I got to give it to Denny Hamlin, he had a few chances to be dirty and Take the Lead but he didn't take them! Hats off to him for that! I wanted to go by Matt DiBenedetto shirt after that race but I did not want it to say #95. I think NASCAR would be more successful if they ran the Bristol race five or six times a year! It never disappoints.
Hamlin took one of those chances when he aimed his splitter at Matt's left front tire when they were side by side. He waited and tagged Matt when he thought he might be able to cut Matt's left front tire. Luckily, his aim was off. Cheap words afterwards are nice and all, but he's still the same dirty driver he's always been.
This place hold 160,000, thats half the population of Wyoming in the stadium

Did I miss any comments in either broadcast (especially MEC) about how many rf tires went down? I watched both. Haven’t watched any NASCAR in a long time, but this wasn’t RIR. Big WTG to 11 team for coming back from laps down - not easy ever, especially at this level.

Hamlin probably has 5 or 6 years left. He’s on fire. There’s no reason to believe he will be done in 2 years
@@MyDogFulton To be fair, there was no reason to think Edwards wasn't still going to be racing to this day. In fact, he stated how excited and eager he was for the next season... then just quit. Something weird happened behind the scenes. Same with Jeffrey Earnhardt, only that was more obvious; JGR stole the sponsor out from under Earnhardt and Earnhardt left the team. JGR has a bit of history with turning hot drivers into guys without a team.

Dillon blew a tire right in front of him and Ragan hit him later. Unless I missed something, that was it. And I don’t think either was his fault

What ruined it. Denny was 2 laps down and came back to WIN thats pretty impressive
Less impressive given the JGR habit of cheating. Plus, most people just wanted Matty D to win. Would've been one of the biggest highlights of the season. Whereas, if a JGR car wins, it's just "Meh" to everyone but the fans of that particular driver or the JGR organization.

Sometimes I wonder if Rick Allen is watching the same race as everybody else.
The lap traffic was awful last night.The #52 car was -26 laps down at the finish.We all want higher car counts including myself but a car that many laps down because it was just plain slow.There is a sense of pride surviving Bristol and finishing but when you are a moving roadblock its a hazard out there for other drivers.
That's win #4 for Denny Hamlin.

The announcers still adding so much drama to the Bristol race. Then why were there so MANY empty seats? I remember a time when, if any race was sold out, it was Bristol. And only 38 cars running. I guess the days of a 43 car fill at a packed house is over.
39 cars out of 40 available slots. And of the 162,000 seats Bristol has, around 110,000 were sold for the race. (Watkins Glen just sold out for the fifth year in a row, by the way.) Sure, we've passed NASCAR's initial heyday, but there isn't a sport in America right now that isn't have attendance issues and NASCAR smells like a rose compared to the MLB. Some of their teams are only averaging 3,000 to 4,000 ticket sales per game with stadiums that hold 30,000 to 50,000 people. NBA, NHL, MLS, and even the NFL are all down in recent years. It's not as if NASCAR is the only one.
@@RB3Author Are you not aware that the number of available "slots" went down from 43 to 40 because NASCAR could not fill the field? And when you compare a NASCAR race to NBA or NFL, do a combined ticket sales for ALL of the games that week, because that's what NASCAR is, ALL of the teams at one event.

@@RB3Author O.K., but I was comparing major league to major league. Using your method of measuring, you must now include high school & college sports, minor league baseball.....basically, any form of sport other than NASCAR that requires a ticket to be bought.
@@gearshifterg9756 Not really. High school and college aren't professional levels. ARCA, K&N, Trucks, and Xfinity are. And all of those but K&N are national touring series. They're the big leagues. Minor league baseball is pro, but regional. Doing a direct comparison is difficult. Simply, though... NASCAR is in a better position than MLB overall, but neither is going anywhere.

More short track and road courses, less Kentucky, Kansas, Michigan, pocono tracks would make nascar relevant again

Tv ratings have been up all year, multiple tracks sold out or at capacity, track owners spending multi million dollars in track improvements and renovations. So, no the sport is far from “dying”.
Jake M ur denying a fact that everyone acknowledges, nascar is a dying sport. Most of the fans have been alienated by the gimmicks and lack of variety from the sport. I used to live for races every Sunday now I haven’t watched a race all year. the new drivers don’t have personality anymore like Stewart, Jeff Gordon and earnhardt did and that also plays a huge roll
Here's another I don't understand fact . The teams in NASCAR spend a lot of money and aerodynamics . And of course much more money and engines that can last a long time . So when somebody wins . They burn the tires on the car till it destroys the body . And the engine overheats to where it's no good . Now am I the only one that thinks it doesn't make sense .
When there are empty seats at a Bristol night race....it says a lot about where Nascar is today. I went to the first race at Texas Motor Speeday in 1997....the only seats I could get were on the BACKSTRETCH.....most tracks HAD backstretch stands....not anymore. This years Daytona 500 didn't even sell out. Nascar needs more stories like Matt....I hope he gets a good ride next year. It's drivers like Matt that will fill some seats....hope anyway.

@@JackLikesTrackhouse Nah....been living above ground since 1975. Been a Nascar fan since 1996. It just doesn't seem to me that those seats aren't as filled as they used to be. Just my observation. Don't get me wrong, I love the sport and will watch it till the end.

But, if it makes you feel any better, Watkins Glen sold out for the fifth year running this year. Also, if the MLB is still functioning, NASCAR is going to be fine. Some MLB teams can't even average 5,000 people per game in stadiums that hold 30,000 to 50,000 people... imagine how empty that looks. Or just turn on a baseball game on TV on any given night. The stadiums are ghost towns except for the weekend games for the biggest teams.

I don’t know what Levine family racing is thinking not resigning Matty D it’s going to be the worst decision they ever made.
Considering they're the JGR satellite team, now, it was most likely Joe Gibbs that gave them that order because he wants to put Christopher Bell in the 95 and doesn't give a damn about Matt. As far as Gibbs is concerned DiBenedetto was a seat warmer.

You mean Chastain? Given the fact that he was driving a third tier car for an extremely underfunded team, it's a wonder he wasn't more laps down. It wouldn't matter who was in that car, they'd be running in the back, laps down, just like Chastain.

@@steviejoesampson5428 Second tier team in the trucks. Underfunded, but not nearly to the extent of the team Chastain drives for in Cup. Trucks aren't nearly as expensive to run and the gaps between the tiers of the truck teams are smaller. It's a challenge to win in a second tier team in the trucks. It's nearly impossible (outside of a weather shortened race) to win with a third tier team in Cup.
