      If you watched a full race from start to finish, you’d realize it’s as technical as any sport you’ve ever watched! You will also realize it ultimately becomes nothing about “driving around in circles”! There is sooo much strategy, aerodynamics, tire pressures, springs, shocks and tape on the grill that can make 1-2 tenths of a second difference per lap. At Daytona and Talledega, where they are running close to 200 mph, that’s 1 football field per second!

Today’s race was an awesome throwback to NASCAR’s early days, and the batch of road courses are helping NASCAR evolve to a new level (so hyped for COTA - stock cars on a 3-mile FIA Grade 1 circuit, heck yes!). Lap traffic cars up front tend to fight the leader for the lap, which in turn lets the other cars stay closer for more battles at the front. Just my 2 cents....

    If the official NASCAR released highlight video is 10 minutes of wrecks that's not much of a highlight video. NASCAR will never admit it but after years of perfect races at Eldora this was about as close to a disaster as you could get.

    Great idea, poor execution. Remove the windshields and put in mesh nets instead and add some water during cautions, would've made for a 10x better race. Hopefully if they do it next year, remove the windshields and water some more, overall enjoyed the race but it could've been ran far better.

      That’s been my issue with this the whole time, if people want to see dirt racing go watch a dirt series with purpose built cars. Just seems like another attempt at dragging in viewers who won’t stay anyways cause they aren’t racing fans, which is why they didn’t watch in the first place.

    • @TheBibleExplorer
      @TheBibleExplorer 3 роки тому

      That may be true but I find it refreshing to see at least an attempt to get somewhat back to their roots. It used to be stock bodied cars and a roll cage and now it's more like a promod situation...resin body that doesn't even look like the production model being bolted on top of a skeleton...
      🤔 I wish they'd make it where (for the slow tracks like this) that they'd throw out the rulebook for the bodies and let the teams pick any body from the 30s-80s as long as the chassis and mechanical things were up to their rules... I think that'd be one wild race... 😁👍
