Good in depth review, thought there was a fair bit of filler in that cork handle though, a review of the Maxcatch stuff would be cool.
Nice rod. I fell on my DFX 4104 and snapped it in half. But it is under warranty that’s the good news.

Better than your Vision Hero 10 footer?
i am glad to see more and more brands bring more to the point models out, i mean downlocking real seats and most of al, the starter guide at the end of the first piece, not at the beginning of the second piece, why i read in the comments that the vision nymphmanniac is more sensitif then the Douglas rod, is it becous its stiffer and the Douglas rod more of a softer action rod that gives better protection of light tippets?
Would love to see how the Guideline Elevation 10ft 2" 2wt nymphing rod compares to this, I've just bought the Elevation rod (not yet tried it) but aesthetically it's put together really well, probably ne of the best I've seen out there on the market for the price.
Cracking review, unfortunately the price is a little steep for us ordinary folk.
Hi Andy. Thanks for the review. I saw you using this on one of your videos and I wondered what it was. 2 questions. How would you say it compares to the hardy ultralight ll 0-2wt? And, more broadly, what rods would you recommend looking at for trout fishing in bigger uk rivers? Thanks
It'd be a bit unfair to compare it to the hardy, it's about half the price. Very different rods that's for sure. The hardy is still my favourite all rounder. I do like the extra reach of the rods around 11' for the larger rivers 👍
I have the hardy and it’s a great rod but sometimes I wonder if a heavier atfm rating might be good in some of the bigger rivers I fish.
I have the 10"2 #2 Hardy and also the 10"8 #3. The 10"8 #3 is perfect for bigger rivers and bigger fish and still maintains sensitivity

Hi there, is there any casting videos? I’ve had a look and can’t find any specifically on how to cast because I’m finding it hard to get the technique on the French leader. I can’t get very far and can’t get the cast out very well at all. Sorry to jump on a different thread
Where can I buy from
I never understand the reason behind no hook keeper on a rod. I have a Vision river maniac rod which also has no hook keeper. It frustrated me so much that it now lives in a cupboard not used. It is a similar price point to the DFX I would be interested to know why they decide not to have a hook keeper.
Just wrap it up around the reel and back to the first guide

Thanks bud! Very different rod to the Nymphmaniac, not quite as sensitive but the build quality is probably better, as it should be given the extra cost 👍
