Lekker bru man! You are really doing what many would love to see, the journey to a 300kw car. Keep up the wonderful content, cannot WAIT to race you again.
I'll turn it up to 7500 for now. I'll need to do exhaust valves for peace of mind for higher rpm. I don't want to get to Honda level but 7800 should be great.
Yeah should be interesting to see where the torque drops off down the line which I don’t see happening anytime soon. Maybe at 9k rpm 🤣🤣 Have this wild urge to 1.8T swap my Polo Vivo GT 3-dr but need to do the extensive research and consult those in the know so definitely keeping an eye on this build. Thanks again mnr 🙏🏽
Yes, it might start to dip at 9k which is wild. It's just a monster turbo on a 1.8. lol. A 1.8T swap in a 3dr Vivo would be really cool. Should be very simple if it's mostly a 9n. But I don't know much about Polo's. If you can find a donor GTI it will be great. Sell whatever you don't need to recover some cash.
Very clean build been following build....... Had 1 of these as my 1st car and still to this day I wish I could of turbo'd it..... Now I have a audi a4 b5 wagon big turbo 20v something different also

Hello Lorenzo, loving the car and the journey. Why do you not give Gerrard @ GSR for your tuning with the likes of suspect he tunes amongst others................ No disrespect to anyone elses tuning just putting it out their........... Loving the growth and movement to 500 wkw.... Cannot wait for you to go and beyond
Hey. When it comes to tuners, Jameel and Andrew is an amazing combo. No disrespect to Gerrard but when it comes to 1.8 20v's, no one locally touches these guys. It's their bread and butter. They're also super hands on with me and teach me along the way. When It comes to ECU master perhaps Jason and his team at RBT would be able to setup all the extras a bit better. But we're still learning about the platform and the Mk2 is a test dummy. Haha. Hope that answers your question. I'm not so sure about 500wkw 🤣 for now 400kw is where I'm stopping. Pretty much everything needs to changed beyond that. So I'll need to build a new engine. 😆
There are good guys in Jozi. Just gotta find them. And I agree about the turbo. The 3076 I wanted died after 1 pulls so I'm messing around with this stupid big turbo until I can afford something decent.
You need a 76mm down pipe, exhaust and straight through silencer , there is too much back pressure with 63mm and everything will run hotter especially if you giving it more boost.
Try and run the dump valves air that's released back into the induction system to avoid loss of boost. As running it atmospherically releases all the boost. Would also help with the 5k rpm dig 😅.
@@lowdl personally i Woud keep it on the hot side, else you are dumping already cooled air which is just gonna heat soak the intercooler faster. Dump the hot air, making the intercooler more efficient :)
The thinking behind moving it just before the TB is so that as it shuts, it can dump the excess instead of it flowing back through the cooler. After some digging, it seems like it's quite a heated debate. I'm on the fence about it, I might just remove it all together.
You could consider a Compound Turbo setup with your old Turbo low end power boost and the T70 for the high end Boost Will definitely be a Monster Best of both worlds the Compound setup. It would be complex but awesome. Haha. The 300kw club is great in a light car. My eyes are set of 400kw now because I know this turbo will do it 😂
Ko4 feeder to gt3076 works great. Compounds are great. Best of both worlds. Good luck but just Love your videos. Just give the Baby a Bottle Nitrous 🏁🏁🏁
Nitrous is also a good option. I don't think I would do it. I would rather buy a good quality turbo with the widest powerband but at some point I'm going to have money to blow on stupid entertaining things. 😅 Then we'll have fun.

So they say. Haha. You're right, that's the reasons but because I ran without one for a while, I didn't think much about it. I prefer the no DV sound though.
This is just scary power now, and it still has more in it. Whoever assembled that Sharan in the early 2000s had no idea what it would be used for today 😂 On another note, someone in JHB is selling a set of RAs with tyres, how much should I offer?
Haha. This Sharan engine in putting in work. I love that it's got a Sharan engine and not a AGU like most of the other guys. 😂 I have no idea what you should offer, it depends on the condition. They are likely buckled so keep that in mind. They alloy they used on them is really soft. All my wheels were buckled when I bought them and they're all buckled again. Haha. If they're 15's, you need them. I saw a set a few months ago without tyres that needed work for 8k to give you an idea of what guys are selling them for. I got mine for around 4k years ago but they were really rough.
@@imaadcajee 12k is steep. For RM's I would consider that. But not RA's. There's a set of 15" Ronal Turbos for sale for 12k at the moment, I guess wheels are just expensive.
I only flat foot/no lift shifted once or twice. It was pretty good without doing that. But I'm not revving it high enough for 3rd gear. My 3rd is long so I tend to fall out of boost and that's not great. I'll raise the rpm and see what it does. I can't get too crazy but every little bit helps. Base spring pressure is 0.7 bar.

🙌🙌This show is just addicting now. Keep feeding us, also love the flutter over blow off noise myself.
The flutter sounds great but the blow off will stay for a while. Apparently it saves the turbo.

Intake should go out in front of the grill for more cold air would make more power
It probably will make a few more kw but it’s not a VVL 😂 I’m going to cool the air with meth so no need to pull ambient air from the grill.
Definitely run a dump valve , the turbo life will be prolonged

Looks great man. Anyway u can point the dump valve downwards. Its dumping hot unintercooled air onto ur filter again.
That's a good point. I'll be moving the dump valve to the intake side. Boost pipes needs to be redone. So I'll do it then.
