@@Dokepredator I half agree with you. The R can be really fun with a lot of little tweaks. With the right mods it's extremely fun. The motor is effective but definitely lacking character. Most people go straight to power mods, but I reversed the order. The car needs more power now though. too much grip.
@@Dokepredator I agree Doke. But in Denmark if you tune your car, the police will take your car, drive it to a certifired vw dealer, and they will make it "legal" again. And i have to pay for everything. Thats why is R is perfekt, fast, comfortable etc. Next problem is that the car is almost 90.000 $. So the car has to be fast from the factory, and legal. Denmark is a fucked up country with cars.
@@PerfectRotation I sold mine yesterday and looking for an N55 M2 now, I'm just a bit unsure about the transmission. DKG or manual... my R was a DSG version...
A clutch stop makes the pedal travel shorter, taking out the dead space at the end of the pedal for faster and more accurate shifting. The spring is connected to the clutch pedal and disrupts the feedback you get from the pedal. Highly recommend both
They compliment each other very well. When driving the M2 hard, there's always something in the back of your mind reminding you she can bite (which I love, keeps me humble) but the Golf R just says "yes sir" and goes. The Golf R requires a bunch of little tweaks and mods to feel like a drivers car. The M2 just needs Shell 91 and some sticky rubber. A lot more adrenaline driving the M2 than the R.
@@revento5544 Yeah that's fair, neither can I lol. The M2 is mine, the Golf R is my girlfriends. I would have gone with a DSG, which is not an internet friendly thing to say lol. It would have complimented the manual M2 that much more. Beggers can't be choosers however so no complaints.
Thanks man! I didn’t do camber plates however had I had some more money to throw at the car I would have considered getting some. KW suspension is like magic as well! That was the other option I was contemplating
how do you like the ohlins? I'm thinking of getting them for the mk8. Considering whether to do a dcc delete. Are they still comfortable enough driving around street compared to the dcc?
The Ohlins are brilliant. They make the car feel more like a sophisticated sports car. I’ve driven a bunch of R’s on different suspension set ups and non of them come close to the Ohlins. Deleting DCC is a no brainer. Less to break. It’s not a hard enough set up to need a softer mode
@@PerfectRotation awesome! Thank you so much for the info. Sounds like a must have upgrade. I had a mk7 gti with kw v2s and it completely changed the car too. Would you happen to have sat in an r with bilstein or Kws? There’s not much info on the ohlins and the mk8 version is back ordered until November 😳
@@wontontech The best products are all back ordered right now. Michelin told me I had to wait a year for new rear tires on the M2 -_- . I've driven a R with Bilsteins, it was good but not great. I haven't experienced the KW's and suspect they're really good, and probably on the same level. There's something about having the same suspension as a pagani and Singer that tickles my fancy just that extra bit. Also, enthusiasts in the know go mental when they see the Ohlins sticker on the side of the car. Kinda satisfying.
Can I ask which setting you have the front and rear dampers set to (how many “clicks”) do you find you change settings much or stick with what you like?
@@PerfectRotation lovely car. Mine are going on soon. Just waiting for the DCCu deletes to come in. I have 034 rear sway with moog endlinks and will have 034 camber plates and endlinks up front. Hoping the setup works! How much of a drop did you see / how much preload did you go with?
You can almost see the DFV doing it's thing over the two expansion joints at 1:01
Great choice in coilovers.
You make the most enjoyable pov drives on youtube, so satisfying and relaxing to watch. Keep going!
Thanks man I really appreciate it! Just wait for what I have lined up... :)
My set will be arriving soon. I’ve never been so excited for a performance upgrade. Just hoping the hype is real. Loved the video👍
You’ll love the Ohlins. A phenomenal drive
Nice video as always. Man i love that Golf R, its my dream car :) keep up the good work. cant wait to see more videos from you! ;)
Thanks so much man! I really appreciate it. Just wait. They're about to get a lot better.
It's a very good car but it's so perfect that it gets boring. Also the engine is not emotional...

love the videos bro

@@PerfectRotation hahaha I love it. M2 videos is the reason I got into your channel, I drive a 21 m2c myself. Got me wanting a golf r as well now 😂

Nice. I would probably have the m2 as an only car as I like a challenging car and cant afford two cars hahah. Do you own both cars?

Great driving man! Are you running any camber plates? I’m on KW V3s on my 7.5 GTI & curious if adding camber will make a big difference or not

Is the Gulf R a very reliable car? I’ve been looking into them and I see mixed reviews
Just don’t push it to 450hp and you’re fine. This car is bulletproof if you don’t mod it too far and take care of it
Awesome video! Where is this?
Thanks man! This is the beautiful city of Calgary, Alberta, Canada

I’ll start playing around with those settings next year. The R has been off the road for a bit

Can you find some poorer roads?
You mean worse roads? I don’t think these roads have bank accounts.
What settings do you have for the car on the Ohlins for the street?
Honestly I haven’t fooled around with the settings yet
