The thing that makes this R look just a bit better is that it’s a 3 door, called a 2 door here in the USA. The 3 door in my opinion looks just a bit sleeker and sportier than the 5 door. It’s a shame VW No longer makes the 3 door.
Hey Luke, congrats on the upgrades! I have very similar myself (SuperPro LCA’s, -1 Degree Strut Mounts, Sway bars & Öhlins), my question is: How is the NVH with the KWs? Especially with the camber plates that replace the comfortable rubber OEM strut mount, and particularly on rougher roads. Thanks 🙏🏻
I've got my R on a 25mm drop but it's just h&r springs with 8mm spacers on the front (want to swap to 10/11mm hubcentric) and 12mm on the rear. With the he mods you did does it keep all the power down?
Are these actually coilovers? They look like a front strut (the spring is over the damper in a McPhearson strut anyway) with rear damper and spring swap out. There doesn’t appear to be any way to seat a spring over the rear damper from what I saw here? The Golf has a separate damper/spring arrangement on the rear, has this been replaced with a coil over? Some shots of the kit after installation would be really helpful to see how it is fitted, especially as new location arms and ARB were fitted as well.
@@GFXGreg Like I said. There doesn't appear to be any coil-overs being fitted here. I assumed that the rear suspension was going to be converted to coil-over not simply swapped out for upgraded components. IME there is a lot of confusion over coil-overs and what they actually are. The term has become a catch-all for fitting upgraded (usually adjustable) suspension. A lot of cars have coil-overs from the factory, just not adjustable ones.
@@huwjones5879 lad, they are branded as Coilovers because they are adjustable. The adjustability for the rear is in the form of a rotating cup sitting beneath (or above?) the spring.
I've been here before with my golf 7R mate! :D I had the same mods like you! Its insane how much grip these cars have right? I sold mine a few months ago to swap it with a Bmw M2 competition, no regrets tbo ;)
Forgive me for pointing out the obvious, but how are a thousand pound set of coil overs going to improve your driving level? I’d wager IF you spent the money on some professional tuition you would still never outdrive even a standard set up

How you liking the KW coilovers so far? I just bought Bilstein B16 coilovers with Damptronic for my stage 3 MK7 Golf R. Can't wait....

Lovely coilover
Unfortunately not put in the M140

Did you notice much more nvh from the uprated bushes in the suspension arms
The car is coming along nicely can’t wait to see it up Against some competition
Thanks!

Fronts are a combined strut and spring and rears are separate springs and struts

@@GFXGreg I know I’m being a pedant but they are not strictly coil-overs. This kind of misdescribing really bugs me.
I’ve heard it all now
take it to a car show, pretty sure that would be a good vid
Near Cardiff and Swansea that sort of area.. anyone from Wales will tell you Swansea is nowhere near Cardiff 😂
Goals I’d LOVE those kw clubsports your not messing about. FairPlay.
The coilover made a new car out of it, nice!
Please upload a video of this Golf being detailed! Same as you did for the GTI 😀
I was looking forward to this. A wet track is a disappointment. It's difficult to really measure things that way.
We need a video with the clubsport S
Coming soon!
Is that 18 or 19 inch wheels ?
9:25 Hey ItsJoel! Saw your car in his porsche video too : P
Wasn’t that Joel lurking about in his xxxxxl body warmer !
Yes!
Nice car and set up. If I could be so bold as to offer criticism it would be you tend to repeat yourself 2, 3 or even 4 times in your videos.
Love how the Golf R MK7 is coming along Luke!
Great video as always! :D

Thumbs up champ.........car looks insane with those wheels 👌 👍
Thanks!
@@hampshirephoto Nice looking R. What offset are you running on the Ispiri wheels.
Sort the haldex! Your still spinning the fronts
Haldex was done the day before the track day at the same time as the coilovers. Cup 2’s on a wet track are the issue, not the haldex.......
Thanks Luke 👌

The VGS guy kind of doesn't inspire confidence with all those kind of's!
Does this guy know how to do anything on a car, like bro couldn't even put in the new coilpacks
Hardly makes sense for them NOT to be done whilst it was in the garage having other work done anyway 🤦🏻♂️
