      How is your car after rubbing so hot for so long? Did you have a baffled oil pan as well?
      What turbo are you running with your fmic? Was this run done on E85?

      Because most people only invest in the cheapest way to impress friends, they dont know how their cars will behave in real racing conditions, which is overheating and melting. If you increase power, you need to improve braking and cooling, period. If you don't do it this will happen.

      Stock cars absolutely can and do overheat if they are not designed to be driven this way (which many are not). There is no point to install oversized radiators and overpowered cooling systems if they will never be seen under design operating conditions and would be a waste of resources and money. Sometimes cars are adapted from the factory for local conditions in the target market (e.g. climate).

      You need to take into consideration that Nurburgring is very long and has some proper elevation changes. I bet this Subaru can do like 3 laps on a average 2-3 km long, flat racetrack with ease. And after cooling lap you will be able to do this again.

      @@stansuarez Yeah cooling gets a big issue as you go for more power and a lot of people just go for the power without considering its implications on everything else.
      I would take ~30hp less reliably all day over an extra bit of peak that you can't really use for fear of cooking something.
      Lets be honest - 365 wheel is still a lot of power and more than enough to be great fun.
      My old Impreza (GC8) was only just over 300 wheel but it had the right mods and I could just beat on it all day until the tank went dry then beat on it again.
      Fun fact - the best mod I did to that car was the gearbox and diffs from an RA. It revved hard at high speed but I never took it on long runs anyway and it was a much better drive when caning it. Short/close gearing really works on them.

    I have a 2015 VA WRX from Australia, car has now done 130,000km and still runs smoothly.
    Car is still in stock form (197kW/264hp and 350Nm)
    Sure it may not be the fastest sports car out there, but the power is sufficient enough to put a smile on your face and the way it handles is just brilliant, I can corner at high speeds and the car sticks to the ground like super glue, one of those cars with that oldschool raw feeling.
    I thought about upgrading to the VB but the differences didn’t really warrant $60,000 AUD which is about $40,000 USD.
    I believe the VA looks better and the minimal increase in power (3hp) and the slightly better torque curve (although it’s still rated at 350Nm) doesn’t really justify that huge price tag.

    1. You need reaction time in case of a crash, slide or heavy braking
    2. Your phone can bounce out of your hands and you can actually hit or block the driver

    • @Kichoman1983
      @Kichoman1983 10 місяців тому +2

      Being owned by Toyota is irrelevant. Subaru still manufactures their own cars. And calling them unreliable is also stereotypical. It’s always the people who (i) have never owned a Subaru or (ii) have done stupid mods on their Subaru WRX/sti like putting intake exhaust crank up the boost with no proper ecu tuning that are calling these cars unreliable. I have owned a 02 WRX with stage 3 mods and a 2012 sti with stage 2 mods and tracked them both many many times without issues. The sti did get a little hot because of a sh*tty aftermarket radiator but I don’t blame the car. People nowadays are so quick to blame the car the brand and others but never themselves.

    • @Rouven_K
      @Rouven_K 10 місяців тому

      @@Kichoman1983 No reason to defend your beloved Carbrand. But the latest example probably is the BRZ. With its oil starvation in right hand corners, it’s RTV issue. Other Subarus have common issues with head gaskets and transmissions. Subarus are great cars, Ferraris are also great cars, but I wouldn’t call either of them reliable. They are still great though.

    • @Kichoman1983
      @Kichoman1983 10 місяців тому

      @@Rouven_K Never had any Ferrari so can’t speak for them. I agree no car / car brand is bulletproof. All I want to do is share my personal experience on cars that I have actually owned and not basing my argument on hearsay. My Lotus Exige V6 had a Toyota engine and everyone just assumes it is reliable. Well guess what, the car has given me more issues (not engine related) in 2 years than the 20 years combined on my Subaru ownership. I still absolutely loved it though. So it’s not so simple as journalists and social media would have people believe. As for the new BRZ, I have one in the family and it just did two track days back to back with no issue. Another friend tracked his stock power one multiple times already and no issues. More track days to come so we shall see. The key for me is proper maintenance and track preparation. That means, among other things, oil change with good oil (not some cheap stuff that you can buy at your gas station) before and right after EACH track event. I would be delusional if I expect any cars that I beat on the track to be hassle free in the long run. Gotta pay to play, period.
