The battle between the subaru and the audi in this video was more entertaining to me than watching professional race cars. My eyes were glued to the television. Theres something about street cars thats just that little bit more enjoyable to watch
Here's a run down of the car. I did have it all in my head ready to go but when you have a camera pointed at you it kinda all disappeared. First off the car was down on power compared to last year. Didn't like the fuel and the octane booster we had was crap. (Millers one shot) do not recommend it. Ecu had cut boost so max boost pressure the ecu would allow was 1.2bar instead of the normal 1.5bar. We were using vp fuels octane booster last year and it worked great. The cars a jdm sti s206 I could go into detail about the car but would be easier to google and someone's already posted the spec in the comments. The engine is untouched and completely stock hasnt even been mapped. Only mods to engine is a 42mm koyo alloy rad and my custom 25 row setrab oil cooler with ducting through the fog cover and vented into the wheel arch. Suspension has a few mods, hks hipermax r coilovers with 12/10k rated springs. Front pillow ball anti lift kit, s206 high castor bottom arms. 24mm front roll bar/22mm rear roll bar on medium settings. Fuji racing anti roll bar mount braces to stop lateral movement in the rear bar. Fuji racing adjustable toe arm, cusco adjustable camber arms, solid mount rear subframe. Fuji racing gearbox pitch mount, sti grpN main gearbox mount, billet subframe brace. Fuji racing monoblock 355x32mm 6 pot brake kit, dixcel ra compound pads in the front, dixcel slotted and z compound pads in the rear, 300c+ brake fluid and fuji racing braided brake lines along with a cusco master cylinder stopper. Alignment is 4degrees camber, 0 toe, 6.5degrees of castor up front. 3degrees camber, 0 toe in the rear. The whole point of the build was to make a subaru go round a track all day long and it does that. Already looking at getting it mapped and converting to a flex fuel set up to run methanol so that will sort my fuel issue out. So ill be back again next year (can only come once a year due to work commitments 😭)
That's the sort of comment I came here looking for. I've seen *very* fast older S4s like that at track days here in the US - not much recently, but definitely back 15 or 20 years ago. What impressed me more was the Seat! Didn't get to see much of it because it just walked away from the STI.

Pretty impressive the S4 held on so well. Hope you can meet up with the driver and see what he has done to the car, it looked like it rotates quite well.

Yes I was also surprised about it behaving like a well balanced RWD car. Way in my past I had a Porsche 944, that also used to look like this on fast corners, fully controlled but with the tail out a bit. A lot later I had a B6 S4, and unless you actually braked it into the corner it would prefer sliding the front wheels. It was comfortable and fast on the road, but definitely not a track car.

@@ukwan this 100%. I've owned several B5 S4's over the years and the key is learning to use that front weight bias to your advantage. Trail-brake late and hard, load that front end with grip and square off your entry as this guy does, full throttle before apex so the boost kicks-in just after, and it will torpedo nicely through corners. You'll be fighting that weight a bit, but it's surprising how much that front can grip with a decent set of tires before it hints at washing out. I used to own a peugeot 106 rallye that was fully stripped and took it on several track days, as there was basically no interior from the front bucket seats back, most of the weight was over the front end, bit it had beautifully controllable lift off oversteer, like this audi driver I would play with, in my cars case, the throttle through corners to step that back end out slightly and get the front to dig it. B5 S4 has a 2.7(2.67) with twin (borg warner) k03 turbochargers. This one likely has k04's but at 330hp claimed by the owner, it could just be stgII-k03. (Chip/supporting mods) The potential these cars have outweigh the lengthy pro/con list :) I owned one for about 6 years.(2001.5 - 6MT) Very nose heavy
Now you talking out of your a$$. Nobody puts k04 just to claim 330. You get 330 from the original k03 at stg 1. The reason you go through the hustle and put k04 is that now you have rs4 power at 380, in a much cheaper s4. If you throw in supporting mods you are looking at steady 400-420 crank. Obviously the guy has upgraded the swampy breaks and the horrendous suspension, and with the pair of big basket ball balls he’s got he has a good ring tool 😊 I had one yellow touring, the sound from the ACE competition exhaust was beautiful 🤩
@josefinkjellsson7051 I think you may have misunderstood my comment? Stg1/2 are still k03 cars and can easily see 330hp. Watching the video I assumed it had k04's but noticed the lack of top end those cars produce. That's why i suggested it was just stg2. There was a "stage" called stg3- that was a k04 swap without with proper fueling or supporting mods that would come later on depending on the owners budget. Believe it or not that was a real thing back in the day. I had a borla and piggy pipes on mine. Just silver with a sunroof. But yes the owner definetly has some handling mods done and knows exactly how to aim that heavy nose out of corners.
I had a b5 s4 upgraded turbos and striped out track set up absolutely loved that car! Glad to see they are still out there crushing it🤙🏼 very underrated car
It Is crankshaft horsepower for the subie so about 260 at the wheels so it makes sense I've had a Forester with 570 even in the 370whp "low" tune it accelerated like a missile
So love watching these at work in a little window, but when your eyes caught that S4 it went full screen quick. I would love to see you do a ride along with him and his kids as a passenger.
i used to own a b5 s4, that 2.7 v6 twin turbo makes wild power. I was making 435 crank torque at 1800 rpm on a tune and stock car. He might have a k04 turbo upgrade in that one.

Don't know how that audi is rotating so well, maybe the driver. But I always found the B5 platform pretty awesome and they aged well in the correct condition and color.
The B5 chassis was the first multilink in the front Audi chassis after the A8. It has not changed much since then in newer Audis - thus you can pretty much make it handle like you wish. 😅
@@dylan2364he blamed it on it being Easter weekend and said people seeing a car like that causes people to do stupid things. I think he should take the car around it at least once.
To see a B5 S4 doing that on the Ring is EPIC. For those that know... 1. It should be understeering into the Forest every corner...the 01E trans is probably trying to reject every up and downshift...and it appears to be a K04 setup with a shimmed diff to be doing anything like that on corner exit. That driver knows the B5 chassis as well as the old B5 Challange/Super Touring car drivers. Im blown away by his skill.
I noticed Misha was not revving the car out close to redline at 8000. Is this EJ207 hurt? Even shifting at 7500 would have kept him on the power band, and have some leeway to avoid a money shift. The Audi was bonkers.
Subarus don't really make much power top end but it also sounded like the clutch was slipping high rpm. The rpms should drop when the clutch was engaged but you could see they were shooting up
Imprezas were making 280bhp in the 90s, I like Subaru's but their engines are stuck in past. Subaru's make the same power they did 30 years ago. The Golf GTI has doubles it's power in 30 years and the best Subaru could do was 10bhp.
@@user-ue6iv2rd1n Emissions getting ridiculous is what stopped them. Add to that Subaru doesnt really have the coin for a proper R&D program and is probs hamstrung being owned by Toyota now
The first multilink after A8. The modern Ingolstadt Audis are not that different when it comes to the chassis, so the B5 you can get really close to any newer Audi.
i’ve owned Two stage 3 S4 B5 and One Stage 3+ 500 & 610bhp They are quick even by todays standards not great round corners unless a lot of work has been done Legendary cars!!
You just taking it easy today Misha, short shifting at 7k. Unless maybe the owner asked you too. Either way nice driving. Seems like a very well set up car.
I know you aren’t meant to “race” on TF but when misha gets into a dog fight with another car it’s different level. His whole driving standard completely changes. Definitely my favourite type of on board
this was awesome to watch, going perfectly in every corner and the audi driver as well, i have 1000+ h in ac on NÜRBURGRING and i still can't drive in a f****g game like this man :)) i hope one day i will be there with misha for a lap
He probably has 330 at the wheels and subie 315 at the crankshaft probably at around 260-270 at the wheels. I had a 2002 Forester with 570whp and at even the "low" 370whp tune it accelerated like a missile had it for two years in Greece drunk too much fuel now a dude pulls a trailer with it after 16 years
My subaru was down on boost as well, didn't have any octane booster with me this year, so was only boosting to 1.1-1.2 bar, factory is 1.5bar, but went to have fun and got home without any issues. So more mods to do ready for next year
@@Stis206trackdays I would keep it close to stock it seems to be a blast to drive or I would put a good built motor close to 400 but for reliability . I've seen stock type Ra blocks push 1100whp but only for a few thousand kmrs . If you built it right with a tuner that knows what Subarus need it will last . Now I think I will switch to the ez30r flat 6 Subaru engine from my ej20 legacy for the sound only it is marvelous. Whatever you will do in the future you have an amazing car a dream for some of us
Nice driving as always, the s4 pushes it really, really hard/aggressively in the corners, but not a word from Misha about that nonchalant spider passing by at the little carousel. Misha is not the slowest. Very impressive how Porsche made a convertible so easy to drive and capable of these speeds and handling :O

@@josefinkjellsson7051 stg 1 e85 k03's @0.9/1b for 330hp on mine, if you put k04's you can hit easily 450-460hp.
I had a b5 s4 upgraded turbos and striped out track set up absolutely loved that car! Glad to see they are still out there crushing it🤙🏼 very underrated car
So the S4 with 330 HP and 3 people was leaving the 315 HP Sti with 2 people on the straights? Must've been 330 AWHP vs BHP for the Subaru.
It Is crankshaft horsepower for the subie so about 260 at the wheels so it makes sense I've had a Forester with 570 even in the 370whp "low" tune it accelerated like a missile
B5 S4’s make more torque than power usually so not really surprising
Nope, look at the Audi weight, it's one of the lightest cars.
@@etshArk87B5 S4’s are heavy as hell, they’re 3700lbs
That was awesome. You so need to do a run with the S4 driver so we can see more of it, that battle with it was brilliant, hats off to the driver. 👍😎
Misha: He is on it! That one knows how to pedal. Must be close to 500 horsepower in it....
Random Seat: Coming through, get out of my way!
lol.
Crazy cupra 390-400 hp? Nice one!
Yes it has around that. A friend of mine drove then.
@@rednotpanda2409 very nice beast ! :)

Boyyyy was that s4 moving. I wanna see what Misha can do in it
Probably no better than the s4s driver was doing, he was in the zone squeezing every drop out of that thing.
That white golf passing at the carousel was v impressive. Disappeared soon after and the sti is fast. Grt video, love it. Ty
1:56 engine oil in the bottle holder. I like it!
It's the scooby way
Bimmer style
😂 it's not normally there, just had extra just incase. Never needed it by the way 👌
That B5 driver knows his car well and what a playful chassis the B5 is, greetings from another B5 driver😂

You made me as a Proud as a Seat Owner myself!! Good job!
Klasse!!!!!!!
5:57 the Seat coming in was quite awesome.
Best video in a while! I wish that Cupra,S4,Sti together was longer
I was shocked how fast the Cupra was!? Didn’t see him again 😢
@@SalomonX88yea how in the world is that thing so fast
Its actually my Boss who ownes the leon, he has got 390HP
One of the best videos, so much fun and nice driving 👌
You need to make a video with that s4. Love this video
I miss the shit outta my S4 B5.5 6MT. 500HP tune/ Boltons and just great mid range power. Steady torque and planted in the twist. Should have never sold... :(
this driver in audi knows his car very well, perfect funny lap Misha.
Great video, your driving in the subaru tailing the S4 made it damn entertaining. You guys were pushing both cars proper which is a lot cooler than run of the mill car vids nowadays with everyone just mashin their foot down with paddle shifters and expensive cars. Especially this subie, high personality car and that era S4 is a huge favorite of mine. Love this vid
3:43 This moment reminded me the famous "Was is´n das für'n Kombi" video 😂😂
3:58 The Line you took through here was crazy amazing! full tilt! awesome angle!
Awesome video. Owner didn’t look happy at end of vid that the Audi kept the Subaru honest. Both amazing cars and drivers. Subaru was lovely!
😂 didn't bother me it was fun chasing it, just a shame it was over too quickly 😂 my Sti has 0 power mods
@@Stis206trackdaysI had a 2005 UK STI I tuned to 450/410. It was the sweet spot at 330bhp. Your car has made me want another haha

2.7 V6 TT Loads of tuning potential, if a little pricey!
Loved the interaction with the S4 in the end
Misha, for me the best and most fun video so far👌👏!
Nice fighting with the s4 driver!
The only thing i missed in a few vid's is an rear camera instellation. For me it's an must have...i think that will be even more fun/action🙏
Greetings from Koblenz🙋
The guy knows his Audi. It doesn't like to turn, so he jumps it into corners =)
Owner looks SO happy to be involved in a 'race' 😄 👍
Don't know how that audi is rotating so well, maybe the driver. But I always found the B5 platform pretty awesome and they aged well in the correct condition and color.
The B5 chassis was the first multilink in the front Audi chassis after the A8. It has not changed much since then in newer Audis - thus you can pretty much make it handle like you wish. 😅
Hats off to the S4 driver for holding out so long against Misha.. loved this lap!
Wait a minute did I see a purple zenvo tsr-s at the garage 1:33 😶
Yes
@@mgcharoudin I hope video will come off the zenvo, its my favorite car with his active rear spoiler 😃

What about the seat? It left the Subaru for dust! What model was it? I’d like one!
The Seat just went!!!
8:40 that white golf obliterated you! Lol 😂
was that white golf the R or Gti club ?

That little Subie handled the lap like a dream! Kept its cool too. Very impressive.
Misha's videos are always on point, but this was one of the best, what a show from both vehicles.
Saw a B5, had to watch
what happens on 1 lap with exhaust gas oil water temperature? Must explode 6 7 minutes full throttle
The rpms should drop when the clutch was engaged but you could see they were shooting up
That was an epic bit of racing by both yourself and the talented s4 driver....awesome to watch! 🙂
Найди этого водителя и сними ролик вместе с ним на этой же машине, будет очень интересно!!!!!!!
Seeing Misha having fun on the Ring is the best thing on the world!
I love it when Misha sees a car he can " keep up with," The video quality and excitement just excel.
misha was so focused on that audi's driving he wasnt able to go 100% in the subie 😂😂
what a Awesome round as allways thanks Misha and the rest of the team.
He made that s4 dance on its tip toes. We need to see it now!
The black Cupra is Amazing 😮
Crazy that the VB WRX’s will put down this power reliably with just a quality tune.
Goes to show the engineering improvements from the EJ to the FA24.
The EJ207 does as well. Its just the EJ257 that has always been crap.
Imprezas were making 280bhp in the 90s, I like Subaru's but their engines are stuck in past. Subaru's make the same power they did 30 years ago.
The Golf GTI has doubles it's power in 30 years and the best Subaru could do was 10bhp.
@@user-ue6iv2rd1n Couldn't stop thinking about this though out the race, and how can a modern sti be this underpowered and slow?
@@user-ue6iv2rd1n Emissions getting ridiculous is what stopped them. Add to that Subaru doesnt really have the coin for a proper R&D program and is probs hamstrung being owned by Toyota now
But what about that black hatchback that blew by? Was it a Corolla?!

It’s so nice to see cars return and see the improvements! The temps are great. Awesome video!
get a lap with that audi please
B5 s4 are no joke…love mine…pushing close to 800hp with v3’s and 18z brakes..
The first multilink after A8. The modern Ingolstadt Audis are not that different when it comes to the chassis, so the B5 you can get really close to any newer Audi.
That's a B5 for you, however it's in some much needed stiffer roll bars and/or dampener settings car has a ton of body roll.
Wow the SEAT
Misha: LOOK ATDAT AUDI
Subaru owner:
this makes me love my b5 even more lol always wanted to bring mines on the green hell. Great driving as per usual Misha! def. one of my fav. laps
Make a b5 s4 video!
Reminds me of Back in the day everyone was doin the k04 turbo swap off the rs4 onto them s4
B5 Superiority
The car looks very happy with its present setup, all seems nicely balanced. No drama. Enjoy !
Was this video about the Subaru or the Audi?😂 Awesome driving between the both you though!
Misha grab that s4 and do a passenger ride lap and let tht guy drive it
Seconded
I noticed a lot of early shifting, was the Subaru not making more power above 7000 rpm? Just curious! Was awesome to watch.
i’ve owned Two stage 3 S4 B5 and One Stage 3+ 500 & 610bhp They are quick even by todays standards not great round corners unless a lot of work has been done
Legendary cars!!
I'd say in the winter with studded tires they are among the best around corners. 😂
Y de pronto.. aparece un Cupra

CHAD AUDI DRIVER
Wow. Brutal. But that cupra or cupra rs3 and that golf gti 😱👍👌
If the S4 is 330 HP, Subie doesn't have 315
some crazy driver in that S4, very nice, Misha made him take all off that Audi, amazing both drivers and drive
INSANE
I met this Audi driver several times on Easter Sunday, once in this lap for example, when he nearly caused a collision with overheated & smoking brake: ua-cam.com/video/X0ihPhrY4Ps/v-deo.htmlsi=mvN9SduUKYZ9cNEt&t=230 (starting at position). Dangerous driver though I have to say he is sending it absolutely on the edge.
This video is perfect exaple that some people just cant drive quattro on track, and others just killin it. Perfect driving by that audi dude. Fav video❤
