Took the Gunsite week-long carbine course with 19 other men. It was brutal weather and the course was run hard by the Gunsite team. The only two rifles that made it through the course without failures were two stock DDM4 V7s. Lots of lessons learned that week. First lesson is rifles like DD make are over-gassed for a damn good reason.
It is sweet! Thiccc rail for all your Xmax tree needs and comfortable! But I would just suggest double check the bolts on the rail they might not be up to 28-32 in-lb per DD spec.
@garrett3174 I have an 11.5 SOLGW M76, which I am also planning to suppress in the future. My RC2 lives on the Radian and I'll probably get a B&T for the SONS.
@@RJGuitz The M76 13.7 is smooth to shoot suppressed or not. But I don't like the accuracy at its price range. BCM or geissele can be very good for 11.5 choices. Or you could go LMT, Or even Bren2 for a wild card.
20,000 rounds is the typical, general number. There isn't an exact number. And it's not like the barrel will all of a sudden become useless near the end of it's life. You'll just gradually see your groups start opening up when the barrel gets shot out. So you may go from 1-1.5 moa to 3 moa to 7 moa. Realistically unless you're shooting for a living (as some UA-camrs do), or shooting serious competition, the barrel will probably last you as long as you need it to. Even when it starts to show it's age it'll still be more than useful for any type of self defense situation.
In my lifetime I only shot out 2 barrels. They lasted roughly 12k-14k rounds before they keyhole with 55 gr. They would shot 77grs. The first barrel was a bcm and the second was this DD barrel I got with a urgi upper from geissele back in 2019ish.
Replacing barrels pretty easy. I have a Colt socom barrel I’m running now. Barrels are consumables so don’t get hung up on it but when you consider the ammo cost vs the number of rounds it’s pretty worth it. Right now my current barrel is at 4K rounds and moved 1 ring on the throat erosion gauge. At this rate I suspect it’ll last roughly the same as my other barrels.
I love the DD RIS III but being a poor I could "never" afford one, at least not without have to sell an organ. Daniel Defense "could" make us a poor mans RIS III now that would be awesome if they did or would
For 14.5", you'll want our M4A1 RIII. To not anger the YT mods by posting prices, please visit our website for pricing and specs: danieldefense.com/m4a1-riii.html
Our RIS III rail system is modeled after the proven RIS II developed for SOCOM, but now in M-LOK for extreme durability with less weight. The versatile two-piece design allows for removal of the lower rail section and easy attachment of M203 (or M320 with adapters) grenade launcher (RIS III 12.5 and 13.0 rails only).
Stuck with a milspec lower..... i dont understand. Even with a fence around a ambi mag release. Theres things on your chest rig that will poke that mag out
IKR? And the way DD4's ambi bolt release layout doesn't actually make the right-handed user faster as the bolt release is just too high up to use without breaking the grip. I guess they truly just added more buttons for the lefties to use.
AMBI LOWERS ARE NOT WORTH IT. I’ve had DD and several other brands and my magazines always find a way to fall out when I sling my rifle against my body armor
Loving mine on my Mk18 build. Would love a 15" version of this Handguard for 16" barrels

Long time MK18 owner but 11.5 will be the reason I actually buy another DD upper or possibly a complete rifle.
I'm glad we were able to make that possible for you! For the 11.5" barrel length, you'll want the DD4 RIII S. Thanks for choosing Daniel!
Ddm4riiis in FDE with BCM or PSA lower ssa-e X trigger Reddot will be my next build rest of thr built TBD
Love you guys. I appreciate improvement and advancement... Yet A clapped out RISII is forever in my heart and hand. #QuadSquad for life.
Hoping to see the new DD ambi lowers being available at some point so I can run it with one of my existing DD uppers.
yes, but i doubt it, they're going to make you buy a whole riffle......
I bought the whole rifle and put the upper on a spare lower that I put on consignment. Hope to recover my cost.
Got my M4A1 RIII a few days ago on birthday and i absolutely love it!!
When 12.5 midlength barrel?
Excellent! Admitted Daniel Defense fan boi..
Been running a 10.5 suppressed Radian Model 1 SBR for 3 years now... got this tingly feeling to purchase a 10.3 DD RIII...

Outstanding Daniel Defense and Marty Daniel thank you for making a wonderful product. Love the shooting range. Is it private range?
Absolutely love my dd5v3…it will drive tacks and like you said that lower is awsome
This is a big improvement
I run an LWRCI-DI and want a second rifle, the ambi controls will provide a similar manual of arms, think I'll snag one!
Carried daniel uppers in the GWOT worked everytime all the time.
Sure you did kid.
How can I run a suppressor with that A2 flash hider? What brands work?
Ris || still king 🤙🙏
Awesome thanks guys 👍🇺🇸
She's a beaut, Clark!
Here dd m4a1 riii. Love it💪
How long do Daniel defense barrels last? Approximately how many shots can you expect with proper maintenance and barrel cool down time?

Are the 14.5” rifles still coming in with carbine gas systems ?
Depends on the rifle model! The newer M4A1 RIII comes with a mid-length gas system. The classic M4A1 is still available with the carbine gas system.
@@DanielDefense excellent , consumers will enjoy mid-length .
Those things have that sandpaper new sound.
Locking the bolt to the rear is needed how often? It isn’t worth the extra cost and accidentally causing a malfunction. Ambi sucks
This isn’t a want this is a need
I am poor and can't afford multiple ARs, so I bought a DD and called it a day😂
This is the way! Thanks for choosing Daniel!
But what do I do now? I like the quad rails.😂🤷🏻♂️
Awesome
I know it has nothing to do with the video but I would love to see a delta 5 pro in 300 prc/win mag.
I'm Japanese, but I like DD's rifles.
What does being japanese have to do with anything ?? Do japanese people in general hate on DD Rifles? 😂😂
Imagine being a left handed grunt running a long gun right handed XD
Quad rails are superior 😎
can you use this with the ddm4 isr?
Unfortunately, no. The RIS III Rail's inner diameter is not large enough to fit the ISR's suppressor.
I love the DD RIS III but being a poor I could "never" afford one, at least not without have to sell an organ. Daniel Defense "could" make us a poor mans RIS III now that would be awesome if they did or would
Why are your guns so expensive?
I’d love one of these if it didn’t have an unconstitutional tax stamp requirement.
tell LMT to MAKE MORE M203 MORE FASTER so that we can actually install some on our RIS II/IIIs
What’s the msrp on the 14.5?

@@motorcarclassics2922 Yes, both the DDM4 Rail 15.0 and MFR 15.0 Rail are one-piece rails.
@@DanielDefenseis there any utility adding on the m203 for civilians?
As a 91f (small arms repair) will i have to service this in the army lol
@@roberthsieh8639Never saw the need for an M203. Wish I went with a DDM4V7 instead. I’m not wanting to play thousands for a grenade launcher.

For sure.
They are damned if they do and damned if they don’t.

I hate that new rail so much. The old one that went all the way to the muzzle looked so much better.
my DDm4 RIII us bit ambi :(
Hey...im left handed 🥲
