RUSS CONWAY - “GIRL IN MY SOUP”

* British popular pianist, Russ Conway (1925-2000), playing the theme music from the movie “There’s A Girl In My Soup”. The 1970 British romantic comedy film was based on the stage play of the same name, directed by Roy Boulting and starring Peter Sellers and Goldie Hawn. The film was Sellers' last commercial success until “Return of the Pink Panther” five years later. The play ran for six and a half years in London’s West End, from 1966 to 1973.

Having said all that, I'm not sure I remember listening to the 1966 version, I certainly never bought the 45.

I don't really know to be honest. The show came out in 1966, but the film not until 1970. I had a feeling that this particular tune was from the film and not necessarily the show. I'll have to do some digging. 🤔
