Honestly the most understandable and helpful video I have found on making boost for these cars. Picked up my gt a month ago only 76,000km on it and i wanna make power. Thanks for the help!
You did great! Good that you mentioned that DW pumps are crap and that you don't need longtubes. You can save a little more by getting Siemen Deka 60lb injectors for $320 or even used 39lb cobra injectors with adapters for $150. On a stock motor you'll never need 80's and some tuners don't like tuning the 80's. The TU-229HP-2 Walbro pump is actually a 300lph pump. Same pump that BBK sells for double the price.
I'm getting flak from guys in a Ford forum about doing this. Because I have a 22 year old GT they're recommending an engine tear down and inspection first. The engine has 80k miles on it. I'm not a mechanic and I don't have tools or expertise to rebuild an engine so the cost would be a lot more to do this. I can handle doing the fuel pump (even though it's a PITA to drop the tank - I've done it before), the injectors, supercharger, and fuel lines (if I want to run E85). I'm wondering if 80 lb injectors are overkill. Some recommend an upgraded fuel rail also. Still contemplating......I see a few used Vortec head units available but I want a complete kit. If I had the money, I'd do a Coyote swap.
Heads and cams could be done much cheaper than your quotes on a 2v motor. If you are quoting install it might approach 2k but doing it yourself it could be much cheaper. Also headers improve hp while lowering boost all of the things mentioned here can help you make alot more power on less boost they can shift power out to higher rpms and keep peak tq down at reasonable levels and hp high. The tq is what the rods don't like with these, the 3v and non terminator and gt500 4vs.
Labor to install a supercharger is less than getting heads/cams & LTH installed in these cars. Trust me I know 😂 I will never recommend opening a 2V motor just to stay SBE. Waste of time and money imo.
Ike, the cams are 600, the heads are like 3 grand from trick flow. I suppose you could port and rework the factory heads for less money. So figure 3600 for new parts, plus gaskets. Install could be a few thousand at least.
I’m boosting my 2002 roush stage 2 soon and is there any accessory mods you’d record along with the vortech, intercooler, fuel injectors, and fuel pump.
Nice video about the new edge that’s a lot of money to spend I bought my 04 mustang GT automatic dark shadow gray in 2014 and it been my daily daisy and it needs more hp but the cost is more than I want to spend so I took half the money I was saving for modification and made a down payment on a musthang GT 2014 and now I enjoy both cars according to what they offer
so for me my car's shell has already been cracked by the previous owner and he installed a shaker would that get in the way of any of the fitment of the supercharger and would it potentially give me horsepower since ill have better air flow throughout the engine?
Yeah wouldn’t it be better to find a cheaper turbo system for making power, yes I know they cost more sometimes, but a twin turbo kit and make your own pipes, as a blower needs to use almost 75-100 hp to turn a supercharger at 6k RPM EASY..so your freeing up another 50-75rwhp with turbos, unless it’s too much boost or power for the motor, ?
I had a D1SC with a 3.85 pulley, cams, longtubes…pretty easy combination. 450w at 6300rpm. Timing was 14-15 degrees. Stock bottom end. It’s not rocket science. 2Vs still suck unfortunately.
you would have to do a custom kit for a crown vic, trust me im in the same boat here is what ive found top mounted superchargers are at the very least 5000$ turbocharges have a lot a break points and are complex however seem to have the lowest overall cost IF you can custom fab a pipe system. the centrifugal supercharger seems to be the more reliable for the price
MSD coils are great.. been on my 02 GT vortech supercharged mustang.. 7 years no issues.. u don’t need a Intercooler .. 30 hp more.. not worth it trust me.. these stock 4.6 are good for 500hp .. that’s allll..
You lose 2-3 Hp With a x pipe, that’s not even noticeable, and x pipes sound like shit on mustangs to raspy h pipe sounds like what a mustang suppose To sound like with some flow master OG 40z
@@Adam_S281 they don't sound bad at all on mod motors. Not my fav setup and hp wise they're among the worst aftermarket exhausts as far as flow. I like borla but for a much better flowing muffler (among the best) that has similar sound as Flowmaster I recommend mac they're criminally underrated.
The hp difference is so negligible it is within variances of the dyno from run to run. I have used both x and h on both mod motor stangs and pushrod ones and I prefer the hpipe. I have an OR H pipe on my 07 gt500 with borla stingers it sounds mean as hell. Got an exhaust video on my channel.
Cool build but by no means the easiest way. I had straight piped, bbk and a wet NOS system on 150 shot. Rand like that for years never had issue spent less than 700 bucks on everything. So maybe update title of your video newb
If you're on a budget I'd still recommend going through your engine to some extent. A leak down test and check on clearances at the very least I'd say

Thanks man! I learned the DW Pumps are junk because I had those on my FRS and they aren't rated for the HP & flow advertised.
Wally C Is the TU228HP-2 300lph also?
@@thirdgearboogie2210 yes, that one is just for 99-00 years
But a used built motor would be great as a deal , they aren’t to hard to find..
Appreciate the breakdown on the build.
NP man!
Thanks for sharing this vid! Gained a lot of knowledge from this and I am more confident in boosting my 2v
Glad I could help!
if nothing else goes wrong this year then hopefully i can supercharge some time next year
Great video, bro your on your way I followed mike myke, Derick and mustang lifestyle. They all started like you bro
Appreciate that
@@EarsPOV yeah bro. An I’m trying to help you. Seeing ur setup today I’m not n the lookout for mirrors and a bigger trouble
Great video lot of people don't understand it that these cars everyday are getting harder to find nice work.👍
Thanks 👍
I would just invest in a Turbo kit to make great power and not as much torque down low that can hurt the engine. Great informative here btw!
Just seen you got rid of this mustang I will cry man this is my dream car
Great Job ! Informative and Categorized in a orderly fashoin . ❤
Thanks Bud ❤
i think you got more than 20 likes lmfaoo good video thanks man

80K miles is low. I wouldn’t tear it down. The boomers in the forums think these blow at 400whp lol

Are you using the cx intercooler piping or did you have it custom made?
so for me my car's shell has already been cracked by the previous owner and he installed a shaker would that get in the way of any of the fitment of the supercharger and would it potentially give me horsepower since ill have better air flow throughout the engine?
what supercharger you got? and was it a non intercooled before?
Why not do the cam and headers and boost it
Bc it’s not needed for 450whp
Are they good for first cars and are they fun?
yes
awesome channel and thank you for all the 2v content! where did you pick up your supercharger system from? was it facebook marketplace or a forum?
facebook lol
Wait so I can boost my car before upgrading internals? I’m new to all of this but I gotta know before I drop hella money
you do not need forged internals to boost
What built motor are you going with?
Ando without supercharg how many hp i can get?
Wtf Ears was the last person I was expecting to be making this video
hahaha

Cheap, Turbo & 99-04 Mustang don't go well together haha
Where did you find yours
How many miles is on your car tho ?
100K
Aye serious question bro, why don’t you throw a stroker kit on there?
Ahhhhh built motor I see 😂
Lot easier and more efficient to make power on boost than a stroker
LAR Performance or LMR? I can't find LAR Performance
LAR
@@EarsPOV Dang i can't find them on google
Do you still have that 86 or did you get rid of it?
I still have it but will be selling it for a Cobra

What makes you think that?
What does a 2v mean
Did you need a stage 2 clutch ?👀
Only supercharger for my Crown Vic I can fined is on ADTR for $6k-$7k
you would have to do a custom kit for a crown vic, trust me im in the same boat

Need to build the motor for more. That's why I say make the engine stout before fucking it up with boost
How much can i get a used 04 mustang for?
Depends on mileage, tranny, and cosmetic condition but a clapped out gt that runs decent probably just under $3k
you can easily find in any condition for under 8k, usually under 7k or 6k
🔥👍🔥
How much boost are you getting with the 3.12 pulley? Was told the 3.33 can get you 10psi
it made 11.5lbs on the 3.12
