For me they are the go to cars for coyote swap. Plus the SN95 has fender flares in the rear and look great with a staggered wheel combo! You can fit a much wider wheel than a fox or new edge like 305 or 315 tire. With a set of Motorsport lowering f springs that would be a nice ride. To bad that those cars are roads less traveled. Plus those cars are alot cheaper than foxes now a days. I like foxes but they are getting ridiculous these days with the prices that some people are asking!
As an owner of both a 95 and 98 GT I have to agree with everything you said about the benefits of a coyote swap, except for the sound of the coyote motor. The pushrod 5.0 and the 2v 4.6 sound so much better in my opinion.
@@DoctorRickSanchez well it's not all about horsepower is it... or else we would all be driving electric cars.. its the whole experience. For me I am getting older now and not into going drag racing as much, so 500hp from a 4.6 or older 5.0 is fine for me, and I get the classic muscle car sound not the european sound of the coyote.
@@bassettjj _Yeah that's true 2v's sound great, BUT.... the coyote is still a modular engine therefore they still sound decent as well just not as the pushrod ones. Also goodluck getting 500hp out of a 2v bottom end 400 is pushing it & the money spent on building one will be half the price of our less than a coyote swap but you'll only be gaining but so much hp afterwards. If you're wanting to keep the classic mustang sound I'd do a 4v mach1/terminator engine therfore no internals will have to be touched (connecting rods, crank, pistons, oil pump gears) in order to easily achieve over 500hp maybe with bolt ons only & no blower.. but if you don't really care for hp why do you want 500?_
@@DoctorRickSanchez My 98gt dynoed 367rwhp with paxton novi supercharger, ported heads, and exhaust on stock bottom end. I now have a forged block, cams, and long tubes in it. Getting ready to add more boost and upgrade the fuel system then get it tuned and dynoed again. It should make probably 450rwhp or higher. That should be fine for me. Not sure what my total cost was since I've had the car almost 26 years now and been modying it since then, but I'd be surprised if a coyote swap would have been cheaper.
Foxcast Media As a previous owner of a few fox bodies, one that got turbocharged, and a 04GT that I had to sell, all the info you provided here is exactly what I need it, big thanks! I have been considering for a while returning to the New Edge and purchasing one and build it to handle as they can be made to handle great (loved that MM banner on the wall btw) but was lukewarm about it. Now knowing how "easy" a Coyote can be made to work, I am sold, thanks
Back in 1999 I bought a brand new mustang gt and I added every performance part they made at the time. The vortech supercharger probably made the biggest difference but with trick flow heads, better cams, long tube headers and the rest of the exhaust, performance intake, center force duel friction clutch, bigger fuel pump and injectors obviously and suspension work. I know I'm forgetting shit but the main ones I remember. Oh like short throw shifter, intercooler. Changed and added gauges, drag radials which didn't help very much. It's a beast considering it's 25 years old and still looks brand new. I have beaten new mustangs but considering that they were stock isn't really a big accomplishment
Dude just watched your channel looking to swap a coyote in my 02 mustang gt. You did a great job on getting me to finally decide to do it once I get my money right I should have it done in a year after saving
I have 03 V6 it’s a standard 5 speed. Wondering if it’s worth swapping engines and if I can use the transmission or what all I would need and even a price range of what this would cost me. Maybe I should just get a new car but my new edge is so clean low km lots of exterior/interior upgrades. Just can’t get anymore out of the engine.
Or just get a forged rotating assembly. 28 spline input shaft for the tr3650 , do a 31 spline rear end , couple Borg Warner turbos , stainless steel valves, McLeod clutch and make 750 hp with a good tune.
Great video 👍🏻 My girlfriend has a 04 GT 5 speed and I told her the same thing that a Coyote is the way to go. I had a 02 GT and know they can make decent power but the cost is a lot to get close to that 400 range. It is nice to hear that how much you can use off the new edge to do the swap. I have a 89 and a 90 hatch I am making into one and I'm going to keep a pushrod in mine but with 351+ cubes. 😀
it'd be interesting but the swapped new edge should pull it all things equal it's a driver's race stock for stock and mod for mod between terminator and 11-14 5.0 a new edge is gonna be at minimum 200-300 lbs lighter depending on setup so all things equal it should pull every time. I love terminators but I would rather have a swapped new edge I think that would be so sick
Michael Harris good point if everything is equal and the terminator is heavier with 390hp and the swapped new edge lighter with 412-455hp depending what 5.0 you wanna put in, the swapped new edge would win everytime. And id love to have both lol a swapped new edge and a termi haha
+Frederic RT yes it was underrated alot and even the coyote was a little they both usually dyno 360-375whp (assuming first gen coyote newer ones do little more depending on year) assuming both are manual (assuming cobras are manual). it's a driver race stock for stock and mod for mod first gen coyote vs terminator so even a gen 1 swapped new edge gt should have the edge imo. I'd love both too lol
I agree with you the new edge is probably the best body style mustang but in my opinion the three valve sounds the best. I know we get hated on the most but there’s just something about the way it sounds. The 4.6 in general sounds good. I love your channel bro
If I heard you correctly you said if you have a 5 speed new edge this is a good idea for you. I have an ‘04 Auto, would you still recommend the Coyote Swap?
As a blue collar guy my options to buy are either a 99-04 stang or 98-02 camaro, the ls1/t56 is a way better drive line than the 4.6 but 98-02 camaros are ugly and cheaper to get. 99-04 mustangs are beautiful but gutless in stock form with that being said what would be more cost effective for the mustang, a coyote or ls swap?
Had a 2v with forged bottom, ported heads and Paxton 2000 made over 600 to tires only 12lbs put almost 100k daily driven on build no problems (besides stock intake)
some questions of mine: did you lose a/c? did you lose power steering? is it easier to swap an sn95 for a coyote rather than rebuilding the 4.6 with stronger forged internals?
Me too. Picked up a true blue about 2 years ago, but I have to sell my 93 notch to finance it :( I can't wait until Foxcast Media gets the dash wiring figured out. Fuel system is up in the air, thinking fox fuel tank with return line?
I am researching the swap for my DHG 01 Bullitt as well. This video is a bit misleading though. It says the stock K member will work, and it will, but my research says you will need a new oil pan and new headers for it to work. Whereas you can get a new K member and use the stock oil pan and have lots of room for headers. My research is early on though so if anyone has any information to the contrary please comment, not trying to talk sh*t. What color is your Bullitt?
hello yes i had a quick question ive had my gt for a while now and i've just been customizing it now i want to do some to the engine to add some power what would you guys recommend
I'm looking into doing a 3.7L swap into a new edge. It'll be a track car, and I'm more worried about weight and getting the engine as far behind the front axle as possible. I'm hoping that most of info for the coyote swap applies to the cyclone.
Did you ever get one? I too am thinking about buying, v6 version, but thinking about swapping a chevy 3.7 5 cylinder. Why? Because it'll sound cool as fuck but also it weighs less and I'm don't want to push more than 500, but this is all a dream for me. So we'll see if it happens
@@djpollo2474 I didn't. I started looking into it pretty seriously, but figuring out the harness made it look like more of a pain than the platform and as worth. I'm actually looking into a salvage title 3.7 mustang now to build up.
This really made me feel better about doing a coyote swap. I have an 01 bullitt. Wanted to keep it Ford with a swap bc I'm not tossing any more money into the 2v turd. I'll be watching more of your content. Thanks!
I have a question for you. In your opinion. Should i drop a built mmr 4.6 motor in my car or coyote swap???? I have full bolt on and tubular suspension 2002 2v currently.
I got the keys from my Gmas 3.6L V6 and I'm looking into a motor swap pronto I most likely will need drive shaft along with a new trans I believe this v6 would pop
This is so tempting my winter beater here in Toronto is a 2000 v6 , 5 speed ...it has been a great beater honestly but it's SOOOO slow haha, its getting up there in mileage (will hit 300,000 miles this winter ) was planning on pulling the engine in it this spring and swapping in a lower mileage 4.6 ...wish I could justify spending the money on a coyote for my beater .
There seems to be a lot of people coyote swapping new edges but I'm surprised how few are doing it with S197 Mustangs. Particularly the 4.0L V6 S197 Mustangs. You can get them for pretty cheap now, seems like it would make a great project car. Am I missing something? Is it a tougher swap? The only example I can find was Brenspeed and he didn't go into the technical details. Why isn't Coyote swapping 05-09 Mustangs a thing?
I’m starting to save my $$$ for a new edge. My plans of course is full bolt ons, boosted of course preferably a roots style supercharger. A little bit of cosmetic work ( front cobra bumper, OEM shaved rear bumper), bags, O/R H Pipe exhaust, gold bbs wheels , etc. It’s crazy how much I dream about the car. It’s like it keeps calling my name. Anyways great vid man.
Love the vid, I have a 68' f250 but I'm keeping the original 360 and putting 390 rotating kit. Already have good heads. I just love the old school bbf, I also have a 429.
I have a 89 foxbody ssp that I'm about to coyote swap and a 2002 mustang gt parts car....theoretically I should be able to swap the new edge (k member, control arms, spindles, brakes and hydroboost) to my fox right?
so being said that the 4r70w bolts right up to a coyote, would a coyote bolt right up to a T-45? i dropped 3500 on a brand new trans and clutch and flywheel for my new edge and my motor went out 3 weeks later, trying to see if i can use the transmission i got and be semi gentle on it while still having fun because a ready to go coyote motor is easier to find than a ready to go 2 valve motor
'96 bright tangerine drop top with a turbo coyote sounds pretty tasty to me....pretty sure that'll be next after I quit playing with the LS in my escalade. I've owned a '79 cobra and a comp orange termi, about time for another mustang fix.
I have a 2000 Ford Mustang v6 and want to do a coyote swap. Besides what you already went over, what other parts would i need to do a complete swap. I plan to rebuild my car throughout the winter so any information is helpful.
Unbolt everything from the car except for the front suspension and bring these parts to a local auto recycler. Now you are ready to swap in a Coyote into a V6 Mustang
Good video. Ditched my new edge something about that 2v I didn’t like but the styling of the car was on point. Been looking to swap my cobra when the engine dies.

I have a 2001 Roush mustang 3.8L V6. Are the kmembers the same in a V6 platform compared to a V8 platform? I either want to cam my V6 and turbo it, unless a V8 swap is cheaper? What do you say? Thank you I advance!!
I have an opportunity to paint a car in return for a 2013 coyote gt that’s been rolled. The original idea was to put it in my 65 fast back but I have a 302 now and already have a t5 teams for it. I think I will still make the deal on the coyote and find a junk v6 new edge and leave the v6 bumpers and dump the exhaust it would be a super fun sleeper
AWESOME video and loved the info! did not know about the k member and motor mounts being a straight fit, how cool!! i have a coyote car (bought it with a seized engine and swapped the engine mehh cake lol) but ive been dying to get a new edge to swap a coyote in it. now i REALLY want one. id love to know more about whats needed. really appreciate the info man. got questions about wiring and clutch and flywheel, like what to buy .
I have a 2000 v6 5spd. Would this be an easy swap to do? Understand I would need to upgrade or swap out the diff and the drift shaft. Love my mustang, just needs some work and looking at different options.
I have an 02 GT SUPER CONDITION it has 9,300 miles on it and it’s a 5spd only drove it to car shows and looks like the day i drove it home and completely stock ! It’s the same as the silver GT in the video with black wheels! I was wondering what it would cost to re-power it with a coyote set up 460 hp! I am the original owner was just curious what cost would be!
So I have a 03’ GT & basically if we have a standard then it will bolt up with a new flywheel, a new control pack, would we need a new clutch/ accelerator & obviously wiring harness but is there anything else we would need for the 5 speeds?
I’m working on it I have a 2000 mustang that had a blown motor with 187k miles car still looks nice inside and out and only paid $800 for it and it was a one owner clean car fax clean title car it was gutted and stripped and gone through now it’s sitting with a nice pearl white paint job on svt wheels with no motor in it yet still trying to find the right deal
Hi i have 2000 mustang gt very clean only 93k. Km. No rust. And my brothers 2018 f150 5.0. Got totaled from back side so i am planning to swap my 2v. Can someone tell me that can i swap whole drivetrain include trans and motor. And what else can i take out from f150 which will fit in 2v
Foxcast media if you did a coyote swap on a new edge would you just buy a k memeber i was reading lmrs article and it said that you would have trouble installing the header but it should just bolt on like you said. And what engine would be better f-150 gen 1 coyote or gen 1 coyote out of a mustang
admittedly with cams, I made 440 WHP on a stock 2v bottom end for years. Beat the hell out of it, drove it hard every single time it was out, and missed at least a few shifts which meant major over rev. The bottom end isn't a problem until the 450 range unless your tuner sucks.
is it cheaper to just do a terminator swap? or shall I try a 5.4L DOHC Lincoln Navigator V8 with an Australian intake? I've seen even V10 truck motors (overkill). sounds like a great platform but the coyote engines are not dirt cheap :(
Foxcast Media I don’t know how to UA-cam. I used stock gauges, to answer your reply. Cheaper, and I like the stock look. Obv the oil pressure is just a dummy gauge. I use the old pcm and the control pack
What about the automatic transmission? I missed that part. Will a 5.0 bolt to it? I have a 2000 automatic. Not looking a race car but I have been seeing mid mileage Coyote engines for... $800-$1,500. My 2v has almost 200k so I'm going to have to make a move soon Anyone reading this I welcome any input.
So after watching some videos, it’s making me want to coyote swap my 04 mach 1. But I’m not mechanically inclined to figure out my next problem. Most of what I’m seeing is that I’d need some coyote swap long tube headers. My issue is that I’m in CA and I’d like mine to be street legal. Are you able to educate me if there is anyway to coyote swap my Mach 1 with keeping all stock emissions so I can pass smog in restrictive CA
Don't forget the Coyote swap bracket relocation kit. 800$. A must for retaining power steering, as coyote powered cars and trucks had electric steering.
Thanks again for doing this vid . I have a 00 GT with a Novi 2000 and am thinking about a built engine or a swap. Looking for as much info as possible so this was good to see. Lets get that swap going!!
I seriously thought about coyote swapping mine, but I ended up deciding that putting a built Boss 5.0 block in it would be easier, since it would still just be a 2v, and putting a KB Mammoth on it.
You've made my mind up bro. Have a '02 GT 5-speed and I have been debating what to do with it since I got my '18 GT. I'm going to get the tranny built and Coyote swap!! Thank you!!
Honestly man with how expensive it'd be you're better off using that money as a down payment for a '11-'19 GT. Or even a 99-04 GT and then turbo it. You'd literally have to strip a V6 down to it's shell and rebuild it to handle that amount of horsepower safely and longevity wise.

As an owner of both a 95 and 98 GT I have to agree with everything you said about the benefits of a coyote swap, except for the sound of the coyote motor. The pushrod 5.0 and the 2v 4.6 sound so much better in my opinion.
_Yeah, but which one can handle more hp?_
Finally. A good video for my sn95.. the fox body looks amazing when you showed the engine. New subscriber.
There’s always a dislike not even 15 minutes after an upload. Does an ex girlfriend subscribe to you or something?
I noticed that too, they done even have time to watch the video. Trolls I guess
Must be a gm owner
Josh Chrobak I dislike videos before I finish watching if the music is low test hi soy
Picked up a used Kenne Bell inter cooled kit making 400whp and 420wtq for 2000$ gets redlined on the daily. Preventive maintenance goes a long way!
That foxboxy said alright bub enough showing me off lets go for a cruise
A coyote swapped new edge vs a stock terminator cobra would be an interesting race
it'd be interesting but the swapped new edge should pull it all things equal it's a driver's race stock for stock and mod for mod between terminator and 11-14 5.0 a new edge is gonna be at minimum 200-300 lbs lighter depending on setup so all things equal it should pull every time.
@@unfundedtony4814 except the Terminator was underrated at 390. It was about 430 give or take.
Robert Hull if true, that changes everything
I have a 2003 gt 5 speed and been wanting to coyote swap it for a while now. I guess I better start saving a crap load of money lol
Was looking into this swap for my 03 gt, bought a 17 gt instead, now I have two badass mustangs
One of the rare few who loves the look of the 94-98 stangs over the new edge.
Im with you. Special with the cobra bumper and cobra R hood.
Had a 2v with forged bottom, ported heads and Paxton 2000 made over 600 to tires only 12lbs put almost 100k daily driven on build no problems (besides stock intake)
some questions of mine:
did you lose a/c?
did you lose power steering?
is it easier to swap an sn95 for a coyote rather than rebuilding the 4.6 with stronger forged internals?
Thanks for this video. It's good to know how much factory equipment works with the swap, and I'll be watching out for more new edge content 👍
Most definitely, they are coming down in price, and are super cool cars
I just picked up a 2001 Bullitt to do this.
That will be a sick build!
Me too. Picked up a true blue about 2 years ago, but I have to sell my 93 notch to finance it :( I can't wait until Foxcast Media gets the dash wiring figured out. Fuel system is up in the air, thinking fox fuel tank with return line?
Fredrick Beard You would be making a HUGE MISTAKE selling a notch back just saying I still regret selling mine 6 years ago.
But why a 3.7
@@timothywalker2273 weight distribution
Did you ever get one? I too am thinking about buying, v6 version, but thinking about swapping a chevy 3.7 5 cylinder. Why? Because it'll sound cool as fuck but also it weighs less and I'm don't want to push more than 500, but this is all a dream for me. So we'll see if it happens
@@djpollo2474 I didn't. I started looking into it pretty seriously, but figuring out the harness made it look like more of a pain than the platform and as worth. I'm actually looking into a salvage title 3.7 mustang now to build up.
Happier with my twin turbo original 4.6. Faster and cheaper to do.
I realize you have a GT (a V8) and I’m wondering Can you start with a V6 and then swap to a coyote? Or do u have to already have a V8
This really made me feel better about doing a coyote swap. I have an 01 bullitt. Wanted to keep it Ford with a swap bc I'm not tossing any more money into the 2v turd. I'll be watching more of your content. Thanks!
what’s so wrong wit he the 2v
Good information thanks 🙏
StangMode See! New project for your channel! 😎
Looks like someone's about to put in some wrench time
Ay good news for brown mamba
LOVE my new 04! I'm convinced it's got plenty of power but I know I'll want more later.
I have a question for you. In your opinion. Should i drop a built mmr 4.6 motor in my car or coyote swap???? I have full bolt on and tubular suspension 2002 2v currently.
I'm thinking about doing this to my 2003 gt mustang , this is perfect.
How easy/difficult is it to swap a steering column from 96GT to an 86GT Fox Body? What do you recommend? Thank you!!
I have a NOVI2000 01 Bullitt with a T56 Magnum. So I guess I'm a prime candidate for this Coyote saving some money big time.
I have a 2004 40th anniversary edition GT 5 speed, How much does doing a full coyote swap cost and is this something your shop can do?
When you do this can you make the stock gauges in the car work with the new engine??? Or do you have to go aftermarket?
He said something about having to do some wiring to get it to work towards the end of the video
Love the vid, I have a 68' f250 but I'm keeping the original 360 and putting 390 rotating kit. Already have good heads. I just love the old school bbf, I also have a 429.
how easy is it to do 06 coyote swap... thanks for any info... ive heard a f150 coyote will hook up to the stock transmission
I have a 89 foxbody ssp that I'm about to coyote swap and a 2002 mustang gt parts car....theoretically I should be able to swap the new edge (k member, control arms, spindles, brakes and hydroboost) to my fox right?
Excuse my ignorance, but why coyote swap spending more than 10k, when you can buy a 2011 5.0 for a little over that? Is it because of the weight?
so being said that the 4r70w bolts right up to a coyote, would a coyote bolt right up to a T-45? i dropped 3500 on a brand new trans and clutch and flywheel for my new edge and my motor went out 3 weeks later, trying to see if i can use the transmission i got and be semi gentle on it while still having fun because a ready to go coyote motor is easier to find than a ready to go 2 valve motor
'96 bright tangerine drop top with a turbo coyote sounds pretty tasty to me....pretty sure that'll be next after I quit playing with the LS in my escalade. I've owned a '79 cobra and a comp orange termi, about time for another mustang fix.
I must say, that does sound like a killer ride!
I have an 01 GT that I was debating swapping either a Coyote or 03-04 Cobra motor?
99-04 mustang best ones ever made
Good video. Ditched my new edge something about that 2v I didn’t like but the styling of the car was on point. Been looking to swap my cobra when the engine dies.
I’m in the early stages of doing this, I already have a 5.0l coyote out of a 2014 Mustang but I’m not sure which platform I wanna use. Awesome video, much love from the Great White North 🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
Hi
I’ve been a fan of ur car !!! It’s really nice !!
I have a question
I have a 2002 mustang gt automatic and I was wondering if I can keep my trans but swap the engine ??
Can u put a list of parts that I would need to get ??
It would be really helpful for me !!! Also if I can do the swap like I want to how much would u think it would cost for a shop to do it ??
PLZ HELP ME !!
Hope to hear from you !!
Hell yeah man. I've been pondering the ideal. You just helped finalize it. SUBSCRIBED.
Can you coyote swap the new edges that have an automatic transmission in it
EDDIE707 I was wondering that too!
I have a 2000 v6 5spd. Would this be an easy swap to do? Understand I would need to upgrade or swap out the diff and the drift shaft. Love my mustang, just needs some work and looking at different options.
How difficult would it be to swap a 5.0 out of a 95 Mustang GT into an 03 V6 auto convertible Mustang?? Do you have a video on this swap already?
Good video. how about the fuel system? What system you are running?
Is it still a drop in if your car is the v6 or do you needa buy motor mounts still?
is it cheaper to just do a terminator swap? or shall I try a 5.4L DOHC Lincoln Navigator V8 with an Australian intake? I've seen even V10 truck motors (overkill). sounds like a great platform but the coyote engines are not dirt cheap :(
Ford Racing FRPP has a harness for the swap but I don't know what harness it is.. I wanna say the ECU but it's only for a stick application
Foxcast Media I don’t know how to UA-cam. I used stock gauges, to answer your reply. Cheaper, and I like the stock look. Obv the oil pressure is just a dummy gauge. I use the old pcm and the control pack
So I’m assuming the truck coyote would work just the same as far as lines, wiring and all the Jazz?
Since you've done a few yourself how much would you charge to swap it
Please do it!!! I'd like to see how you hook up the control pack to work with the gauges, gas pedal and fuel system.
What about the automatic transmission? I missed that part. Will a 5.0 bolt to it? I have a 2000 automatic. Not looking a race car but I have been seeing mid mileage Coyote engines for... $800-$1,500. My 2v has almost 200k so I'm going to have to make a move soon
Anyone reading this I welcome any input.
What do you think about Coyote Swapping a 1998 Mustang GT? I currently have one, and it seems like a really straight forward swap.
Get a tubular k-member. It's easier than notching the factory member.
I’ll stick with the prop rod since it won’t fail like that set up
Don't forget the Coyote swap bracket relocation kit.
Thank you!!
How'd the tranny hold up after being built?
How much different would the swap be on a new edge V6 mustang?
Honestly man with how expensive it'd be you're better off using that money as a down payment for a '11-'19 GT. Or even a 99-04 GT and then turbo it. You'd literally have to strip a V6 down to it's shell and rebuild it to handle that amount of horsepower safely and longevity wise.
@@BreakTheWicked I know, the thing is that i inherited my V6 stang and it's been in the family since I was in 3rd grade back in 1999 so it has a lot of sentimental value.
keep the v6 vibe and swap one of the ecoboosts they are still powerful engines
@@0rvelazqu Turn your v6 into a handling beast. Put in sway bars and lower it a bit. And put in a turbo in it.
@@angelgjr1999 Hell yeah! im saving up for the coilover kit from American Muscle
What do you have to say about the mach 1 of the 2002 -2004 mustangs how hard is it to build the motor and what can you expect?
