I can vouch that Camo works. You guys didn't even see me watching this video. BigLike#33
This is hilarious. Like a hat and glasses cover 1:12 unit spread. Most of them can’t have a conversation and count accurately. This is such a farce. Bet this guy made more selling his classes than in the hotels. If you bet less than 1:12, or are just a flea, the houses don’t care. Also, if you buy in any decent amount and are an RN, you already stick out. I don’t think you are playing in decent joints. Also, facial recognition isn’t fooled by camo jackets. All the casinos work together in this endeavor. 🤦♂️

I'd say a good way to stay undercover is just by being into the game if you're yelling "come on bust" when the dealer is drawing or yelling the value card you want while you are hitting you look like you're just a casual gambler. Pit bosses will definitely be more suspicious of you if you're just sitting there quiet & stone faced the whole time you're playing they know that card counters don't go through nearly as many emotions while playing as average gamblers do
I'm just going to stand dressed as a security guard and act like an entitled douche. I'm crag im the new guy. I need your id, your DNA sample, full blood work up, 27 pence in loose change and a birth certificate..

To state more concisely what Colin says about strategy and betting cover: I you overdo it, you will not look like an advantage player because you are not playing with an advantage.

Nice save bro
I used AP to pay my way through college, beating casinos for a total of $271,970, as a statistics major. I even wrote several papers for advanced classes on Blackjack. As a statistics major, I considered camo, but didn’t want to look too out of place for what I was: a college student, but also wanted to see what pieces of camo were the most effective. So, as a baseline, I timed my play in casinos and looked at roughly how frequently I was backed off. Over 20 days, playing every day, i averaged a backoff once every 461 minutes exactly, or once every 7.68 hours. I added one piece of camouflage when possible: I used a blackjack basic strategy card at every casino that allowed it, one of the small ones you can keep in your wallet, and occasionally glanced at it, and made sure not to glance at it when i was using deviations; during the 20 casino trips that I timed, i averaged a backoff once every 573 minutes, or 9.55 hours. That’s a 24.35% increase in playing time! I added a little bit of acting into it and got better with it over time, but it really helped; even if i have basic strategy totally memorized, the casino doesn’t KNOW that I do. I use very heavy camoflauge via play and betting changes at the casino closest to me, (totaling an EV loss of roughly 56% of optimal EV), because i very much do NOT want to be backed off there and only go there with friends and colleagues, but that is a personal choice that I am aware hurts my EV. ALWAYS do the math and crunch the numbers when making changes to your play, and make sure to keep track of how valuable those changes are to your playing time. If for example you never take insurance regardless of count, you can hurt your EV as much as 17% of optimal EV (depending on game rules and such), so if you’re not getting at LEAST 17% more playing time out of not taking insurance, then that deviation isn’t worth it! Always do the math.
This reads like total made up bullshit lol. Also, wouldn't you need 1/0.83 or ~20% increase in time played to make up for a 17% loss in expected income/hour?
@@whatis6c6f7665 I’m not making it up, this was over the course of years; and yes, you are correct on that math, i was more or less trying to illustrate the point between expected value per hour and overall time played.

I only play blackjack in GTA Online but I find this channel so fascinating
The best camo is not pushing a bunch of black chips around. I have been out counting a few times, playing 1-12 and 1-10 spreads with $10 and $15 units. Nobody even blinks when I push out a +5 bet, then go back to the table minimum on the next hand. If you are playing two spots with a $100 unit you are getting noticed.
I guess my point is that beginners playing with low units will seldom be noticed, especially if the place is even slightly busy. Surveillance and the pit team have too much on their plates to worry about someone who is thrilled with a $300 take
I've never used a disguise because I don't think I could really pull it off, but I do think that with a hat and slightly different clothes you can get some cover. I really never make playing decision camo, but I do think you can make betting deviations, particularly when you're losing. My basic spread in high limit rooms is 4:1. But, particularly if you're losing for the session, that number can grow dramatically. You can get away with even 12:1 or 16:1 if you can disguise it as some sort of betting progression and/or chasing losses. Conversely, if a pit boss just thumbed through the deck and is hawking you and you just lost a hand, it can feel very unnatural to jump from 2 units to 4 units. My opinion is that you can use some betting deviations that give up value IF you also make deviations that get you more value. We talk about playing like a computer a lot, but given that technology today IS a computer, there can be value in making some adjustments. The most important thing is what Colin said: you need to calculate your decisions. Doing something out of fear or the HOPE that it is profitable is a sure way to blow money long term. The only thing that I'd add to that is that you need to calculate the ENTIRE value. It is true that some deviations will cost you money BUT if it allows you to play longer, play rated and enjoy comps, etc., then it's possible it could be worth it. Pressing every edge as far as you can in every scenario is not always correct. Burn the tables down when you're playing in some off-the-wall casino you're likely to never return to, but entertain the possibility that making selective deviations at a place that is important for you to keep can be worthwhile for the long term value of the relationship. Better to play a +.25% game for years than a +1.5% game for an hour.
Wooow I also wore a suit the first time I went to a casino, thought that was normal. Now I wear sweatpants
I just stumbled on this channel and now I'm 6 episodes in
I'll often pretend to agonize over decisions that will confuse an average player, like whenever you get soft 18, or a 15 or 16 vs. a high card. Sometimes you do get a "toss up" descision play. When this occurs, I'll ask other players or the staff what to do and then take their advice. Like the last time a played I had a running +7 with a little less than 3 decks left. A 12 versus a dealer 2 came up.
So what did you do? Pretend that you forgot basic strategy and just stood?
@@iancampion6979 Yes, that is what I did by the "advice" of another player. It's been awhile now so I forget the outcome of the hand. I think I had 3 betting units out there.
Steven Helgason interesting. Is that statistically the best way to play that hand with a plus 2 ish true count?
@@iancampion6979 The index play calls to stand at a +3 true count, which it was approaching at the time( It was a +7 running with less than 3 decks remaining = like maybe.....2.7)
Most every play is cut and dry, but every so often you get a situation where it makes little or negligible difference in your EV on what you do. Doesn't happen that often but maybe once or twice an hour. A more common situation is when you get a 16 vs a 10. Lets say 20 or 30 cards have been dealt out in the first couple rounds of a 6 deck shoe. You have a running count of +2. What do you do - hit or stand? Duh....ask the dealer. Because that is a mathematically even play in expectation.
I straight up tell them, when I come to a new casino I'm loud and arrogant, I tell the dealers I'm the best counter on earth, I tell the pit boss I'm going to hurt their quarterly profit. I tell them the faster they deal the faster I win. I tell them I'm splitting my 10s versus any dealer 6. They think I'm an idiot, you can get away with almost anything. I tone it down towards the end of a session, and become more friendly. Still arrogant but friendly on subsequent trips. It's called reverse camo, there is none, you tell them what your going to do. Try it, it works, they can't fathom somebody acting so blatant and arrogant actually being able to count cards.
I can imagine a family guy version of this, where he walks in with a clown suit on like “silly guys, they are going to be looking for people wearing camo”
dealer: "Boss, his shirt says he counts cards."
pit boss: "Yeah, that means he doesn't. No card counter would make it that obvious"

In my local casino, its connected to a hotel so some people just waltz right in their pajamas with a 'coat' covering it, flip-flops and shorts.
It's hilarious when people conflate reality with the fantasy of people drinking cocktails in a bar with jazz music playing like in the Bond movies
Thanks for the video. I have just one question. What do you think about having a basic strategy card at the table as camouflage, to looks like someone who discovered blackjack (and of course we do not deviate from basic strategy)?
Yeah, I've done that. You just have to have an explanation for when you use a playing deviation.
Thanks. I had another idea when the TC is negative, we can make a bad playing decision on purpose, like standing a 16 vs T or sometimes taking insurance, but of course, we bet the minimum table so it won't cost us a lot of money and we make those mistake when the pit boss is watching us.
So when the TC is high, we bet more, we can make these same moves, the pit boss will think it's normal because he saw us playing like that for the small bets, (but we are playing the deviation of the basic strategy).
So yeah, we will increase our losses for the small bet but we will also increase our winnings for bigs bets
What do you think, is it worth it to make bad decisions for small bets on purpose?
I automatically look at those people first because most strategy cards have deviations printed on them.
When using the count to play deviations, do you use the count at the beginning of the hand or the most updated count when it your time to hit-stand- double-split.?

Hi Colin I was backed off from one casino Saturday but it took them 5 days and went to one casino an hour away different owner and it only took 20 minutes. I wonder why
Casinos often share information about AP’s. Highly likely Casino #1 shared your info with #2 or at least a surveillance picture.
When you say "backed off" how long are you usually banned for in those situations?
Got a little confused when he said that about never splitting 10s. Should you as a card counter split 10s when the count is high? I mean the chances of getting a 20 on both is higher but does it have a higher EV than always staying on 20?
Most places make you double your bet in order to split your cards - which means "more rounds" - you make money by playing more rounds amd you are essentially playing 2 rounds in 1

Id love to get into blackjack and the whole basic strategy, card counting, deviations and just “mastering” it but I’m afraid I’d get addicted to gambling, not sure how to do it responsibly
Just look at it in numbers, if you play perfectly you will end up making money, which means it isnt gambling
gambling is when you lose money. If you are making money from card counting, continue it. it wont hurt you. But if you are losing the money, you better stop. just make sure you practice with fake money and you have the edge when practicing on some kind of an app every day until you go there. I like to separate blackjack from other forms of gambling because you arent just relying on luck to earn money.

There are times when betting camouflage can get the floorperson to be less suspcious of you, without sacrificing too much EV. Then when the scrutiny goes down return to your normal betting.
I disagree. The people I know who's making money is playing with an EXTENSIVE cover (- EV plays). Quite the opposite, if you go after money, you'll soon find yourself kicked out of casinos pretty regularly and spend most of your time in travelling rather than making money.
When I was a dealer, my shift manager clearly told me that it's the "greed" that gets counters caught and if they play with less greed and less spread, they would never know.

Matthias Cerebri :You really can’t risk getting caught with a fake ID. It may be a felony and if you’re discovered with a fake ID you will go to the back room and maybe downtown. Set up a business credit card and issue business cards in employees’ names and if you get busted just say you forgot the card was an employee’s and maybe you’ll get off. But stay away from fake ID’s. You might as well go for a player’s card because if a floor man recognizes you on a repeat visit and you decline a player’s card you will definitely make it onto a short list. Besides, the free RFB, free bets, and valet parking are definitely nice . Some casinos seem to take a liberal view towards advantage play, and the casino will definitely know, almost to the dollar how much you are ahead anyway. And if you have a positive year, get the 1099 from the casino and pay your federal income tax. It’s the right thing to do. You are establishing yourself as a professional gambler. If in the next tax year you get creamed with a loss or lose money at sports betting, keno, or any other game, you can deduct these losses from your income tax and not get audited. Staying off the books can only set you up to take a dive for money laundering, especially if large amounts of money are involved. So you might as well enjoy the perks.

Since there’s nothing legally casinos can do to you, the only “punishment” is you can’t play blackjack there anymore.
In 2021 there were 981 total casinos in the US. If you get backed off from 1, you still can go to 99.9% of the other ones. Even if you get backed off from 50, which would take a while, you still can play at 95% if casinos in America.

Honestly, if you decide before play that you're gonna walk away at 250 profit, then wasting 50 bucks just to throw off dealers is not a big deal. 200 bucks in a few hours is tremendous income.
The issue is unless you have infinite bankroll and infinite time, you won't always walk away with 250 profit even with perfect play. Even when you are card counting you can and will still lose huge amounts sometimes. Consider that casinos lose to pure gamblers sometimes even with the slot machines. It's better to make every last dollar you can before getting ejected or needing to leave due to time constraints than it is to just make a small amount, because you have bills to pay and loss days to cover. Unlike the movies where they'll mug you in the back alley the worst they can do is ask you to leave.

Well, the more you are willing to bet in total, the higher the percentage that you will make some money is. But that comes at a cost of how much you are possibly going to lose. The math does not work out in your favor, trust me.

Never count the cards as they come out of the shoe. If you are wonging pick up the count quickly after all the round is dealt. Floor persons, esp. non counting floor people, will watch your eyes as the round is dealt. If you deliberately divert your gaze away from the dealing, they will not think you are tracking. Also don’t wear an MIT tee shirt and rigidly look at every card. If you split tens and lose, no problem. If you win and it’s big, move on fast. Also look out for Vegas drunks that can’t help loudly comment about your deviations from basic that almost always seem to work. Except standing on h16 vs ten. Everybody does that. Also it’s correct basic strategy to always stand on three or more card total of h16 vs ten in six decks or less. Schlesinger and the blackjack subsets guy discovered this. It’s also in Epstein’s theory of gambling.
Another example of information that was good a few years ago 90s into early 20s. This works at mom and pops hole in the wall casinos. I'm a current surveillance person at one of the largest casinos and it absolutely helps.
It takes time to notice people, and then it takes time to count people. Also consider we have to prove you are counting, which takes so many hands (typically 45-60 minimum.)
So even if I know you're counting, I have to prove it. Giving you bare minimum 25-30 minutes of counting time.
If you are "red flannel sweater guy" and we confirmed you yesterday however all I have to do is say "look, its red flannel guy" and boot you in less than a minute.
Nothing takes 45 mins to 60 mins you need to get faster, double deck game has 9 to 14 hands depending on factors like cut card and how you play, 6 deck shoe same thing your looking at 65 to 85 hands depending how you play/cut card. 45 mins to 60 mins, should be under 20 mins more then likely. You should improve your skills, further more unless you trust the or know the person running them down I wouldn’t back off just because some else did. Unless it’ the hylands or the holy rollers big teams like that.
No respect for not spilting tens
And to the cover how about just playing the game?
Negative variance is the best cover...
And knowing as many deviations as you can and the dumb casinos won't catch on and you can play for a long time xd
America truly is backwards 😂
The only country where you can get into a casino wearing sports attire
The bustling limit identically measure because border arguably irritate throughout a whispering apple. makeshift, boring freezer
It's really very interesting to me that Colin and his buddies pride themselves on being these God fearing blackjack players, that are going to avenge the players who have lost everything to the casino's and take them down, when in reality, these guys will never shut down a casino. Also, how many of those people who lost their homes did you guys actually hunt down and give them their money back?
Not picking on you, just asking a question. 🤷♂️
I just find it interesting.
Especially the part where you guys, who have been so blessed financially with this great skill, request $3,000 from people, (including air fair) for your training that literally takes less then 30 hours. And requesting $3,000 from guys who probably don't even have a bankroll in place yet.
Again not criticizing, just making an observation.
You dont need his training camp to count cards.
They offer SOO much for absolutely nothing.
Spend 25-40$ and buy some ebooks.
The training camp is for people who want to pay for a face to face training. Its like the VIP room lol.
@@stevenhogg4913 He makes fair points I have nothing against counters myself but i also have nothing against casinos unlike Colin , counters and casinos do exactly the same thing using math to get money for themselves in the long run I think Colin is a bit of a hypocrite imo sometimes but im thankful for all of the training he provides I think hes a nice guy im just not sharing his view on casinos and gambling in general thats all
