*You can support the channel with UA-cam Channel Memberships or through Buy Me a Coffee. Never expected, but always appreciated.❤Links in Description!* What an incredible voice! I grossly underestimated the talent of Amy Winehouse!
Love the acoustic version of "Back to Black" as it has a similar feel to this version of Valerie, but official version is amazing as well! Love the more intimate feel of the acoustic versions, like she is singing at the home.
Metaller here, she's one of those "popular" artists who had that genuine talent I could appreciate, with original artistry and a genuine style. Not many artists can do that today, but I put Adele and Florence in this category. There's something genuine about them when you hear them live, it's genuine and that honesty and talent shines through in their live shows.
Incredible artist. Gone too soon. Please react to more Amy Winehouse. Back to Black is an impeccable album. Arrangements, musicians, production value...all top shelf. ❤❤❤
YES PLEASE! It's one of my favourite performances from her..... it's pure perfection & her vocals pierce your soul!💔 I love her raw live performances - she didn't need anything but her AMAZING voice! What we lost the day she passed was immeasurable....actually tearing up as I type this😢 R.I.P. Sweet Amy - we'll never forget you!🌹💞
great reaction 😄! You should definitely see some of Amy's live performances! I recommend Amy Winehouse and Mark Ronson Valerie Brit Awards 2008 (she wasn't sober but still she gave us great performance) and thats the same song you just listened to but she sings the same, every her performance is different Amy Winehouse You know Im no good live in london 2007 Amy winehouse I love you more than you ever know
"Valerie" is a song by English indie rock band the Zutons from their second studio album, Tired of Hanging Around (2006). The song was later covered by Mark Ronson, with lead vocals provided by Amy Winehouse, reaching number two on the UK Singles Chart in 2007.
In another universe she records dozens of albums and becomes the biggest female artist in the world. Such a loss way way too soon. Great reaction - your face when she starts singing is priceless
Soooo glad this is the video you chose to watch. It's the best image of an incredibly gifted unique talent stripped down to its bear essence, including checking her nails as she sings . Sad we didn't have her beautiful spirit longer - yet another genius lost to music industry dangers - money, exhausting performance schedules, drugs/alcohol to keep up... Spin, repeat... 😢💔🌈
I was always an Amy fan. It was sad to watch her decline but her singing throughout was amazing. Thanks for your reaction. (My favorite song of hers was Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow. A whole new take on that classic song!)
Her song with Tony Bennett was the last ever recording she made, just three months before she passed away. Such a tragic loss but I'm glad she got to fulfil that while she was here, and what a beautiful collaboration it was.
I was living near Camden in 2006, around the time Back to Black was released. I didn't know her personally, but I did witness many times how a bar would light up when she was there (not to perform, but to drink and have fun). That day the news broke that she had passed, a hush fell over Camden. We truly lost a unique talent and beautiful lady that day. Don't think I'll ever get over it.
R.I.P. sweet Amy 💔 She had that incredibly unique gift of being able to connect with those who were in pain - her lyrics, her music but combine that with her amazing VOICE and you have a LEGENDARY, ONCE IN A LIFETIME ARTIST....won 5 Grammys in one night. But gone far too soon....this world & fame was too much for her to cope with. She battled bulimia in her teens/20's, alcoholism/drug addiction in her 20's and the scumbag of a husband that destroyed her. Just toxic. *PLEASE REACT* to ‘Back To Black’ the official video to convey her emotions - it's about her 'husband' but tragically she paid the price for loving him. In the video she was burying her broken heart😢🖤 The entire *Back To Black* Album is a MASTERPIECE.....It literally saved my life....Amy got me through one of my darkest depressions - I'm forever indebted to her....like SO many others, we all wanted to help her too..... I'm Irish, so I adore her stripped acoustic songs in her 'Dingle - Other Voices' set - 'Back To Black" was so haunting, perhaps cos it was in Dingle Church....her voice didn't need any instruments (her band was delayed due to weather) Singing was like breathing to Amy - effortless. Another songs *need* to check out - 'You Know I'm No Good'; 'Love Is A Losing Game', 'Me & Mr Jones' - the list is endless - and her covers were better than the originals! Amy references Donny Hathaway in 'Rehab' - "Cause there's nothing, There's nothing you can teach me That I can't learn from Mr. Hathaway" Her live cover of Hathaway's - 'I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know' - ua-cam.com/video/362JArvhAqg/v-deo.html - one of her greatest performances.....mesmerising, haunting and such emotive vocals...basically what she did best. ❤🧡💛💚💙💜🖤 I will never forget the day she died - 23-07-11....I cried for DAYS....I couldn't even listen to her music for over 6 months, and I still cry for her.....she was my Muse. I hope she is finally at peace🖤🌹
One of Britain's top music producers tried to help here when she went of the rails, he said that we hadn't seen a female British singer of her quality since Dusty Springfield.
I love this. I saw the film of her life story this year. It was so sad because she was so talented. I also love “Back to Black and Our day will come” There’s actually so many good ones. If you get a chance take in the film. Great reaction. 😁👍🏾
Amy was a treasure, one of a kind, sadly missed. Another fabulous female artist coming out of London with her own unique sound is RAYE. Please react to RAYE Oscar Winning Tears live at Royal Albert Hall
She was an amazing artist. She's sitting down, playing with her nails, and her vocals are still so strong. Gone too soon. Oh and this is a cover, the original was by The Zutons. One of my favourite female vocalists, along with Eva Cassidy - OMG check her out too
If you are planning to check out some of her other material, I'd recommend to see few collaborations that give yet another level of her skills. See her singing with Tony Bennett 'Body and soul' or with Paul Weller 'don't go to strangers'. She truly was something and sadly there won't be another with her skill levels in my lifetime.
I only discovered her (two years ago) by this exact rendition you just reacted to while streaming some music while creating some art. I had to look up who it was and was taken aback. She is a generational talent for sure. If you want to see what she was like at her first step into stardom check out "You Should be Stronger Than Me" live on "Later with Jools Holland/2003". She was a young 19 years old. Do yourself a favor and listen to it, even if you don't do a reaction on it. You will be blown away!.
Amy seems to have had a lot of confidence and possibly anxiety issues, chuck into that drug and people not so good people she associated with - It was a nosedive. Yet her music was amazing. And when she was - let's call it 'confident to sing in front of people' - Amy was amazing. A pure talent.
Now you know why so many compare Angelina Jordans singing to Amy Winehouse. Miss Angelina feels honored, she said, to be compared to Amy Winehouse. Elmar from Germany
Truly tragic loss of talent and a beautiful, kind, person. It was really hard watching her get increasingly unwell. Everyone has heard Rehab, and I honestly can't listen to that song anymore since her death. A beautiful cover she did is "Will you still love me tomorrow" Such a unique and powerful voice.
When you have time, you should look up the documentary on her life. It’s very sad and how much her father took advantage of her as well as others. No one truly gave her the help she needed and instead pushed her extremely hard just to keep the cash rolling in.
She had been clean off all other drugs before she died. The only drug that was found in her system was alcohol. She passed from alcohol poisoning. Said all of that to say this, if you go back and re listen to Rehab, it's about the very drug that killed her and said actually.
Yes, unfortunately Amy is part of the 27 Club. I can see her in this video kind of the way she messed with her arms...you can see she is not sober in this video. But that makes it even more amazing that she can belt this tune out the way she does. I am a recovering addict, and she was a person that made me very aware of my own demons. I wish she would've been able to beat hers...because she did have so much to offer.
Back to Black is a masterpiece by her you shd review. Amy is one of a kind/irreplaceable like all the greats. It is a shame that rehab (my least favourite of hers) is the only song the stations ever play.
Great reaction, great song. I'm sure some are suggesting "Back to Black". It's a great song. If you do check it out, I actually like the audio version better than the video. I think the video is very distracting.
Sadly she got written off as a junkie /drunk pop musician (thanks to rehab) . But most of the world didn't get to see the depth to this woman We have a singer in Australia (Karise Eden, winner of the voice Australia) , with a similar style and power house voice. She's worth taking a look at
HI STEVEN- CHECK OUT THE GREAT LOVE SONG- JOHN DENVER- "FOR YOU"- WRITTEN FOR JOHN'S SECONF WIFE. PLAY THIS ONE FOR YOU LOVING WIFE! SHE'LL LOVE YOU FOR IT!
My impression of her is not the same. Even without knowing her history, she appears to be very sick. She does not appear to be picking her nails because of her comfortable lackadaisical identity. She appears to hate eyes on her, in my opinion.

Agreed@@StanleyTom-CA
That whole album was amazing ❤❤
Not only was she an outstanding talent, she was also an absolute sweetheart, if she had lived, she would have undoubtedly become a legend.
Even now she’s a legend, so sorry she’s passed.
She was one of kind. I would recommend her performance of "Love is a Losing Game" at SXSW 2007!
i'm a headbanger from way-back, and winehouse was the real deal. not like these manufactured, carbon-copy, auto-tuned, pop princesses of today.
How do you really feel? 😂❤✌️
you can't compliment her without being cunty to present day singers?
Metaller here, she's one of those "popular" artists who had that genuine talent I could appreciate, with original artistry and a genuine style.
Not many artists can do that today, but I put Adele and Florence in this category. There's something genuine about them when you hear them live, it's genuine and that honesty and talent shines through in their live shows.
I get choked up every single time I watch this performance of Valerie.
Me too RIP Amy ❤
Rehab's the one that gets me. Song about her refusal to enter rehab for alcoholism, and it's a song about alcohol....
Stronger than me"
I think my favourite is ‘you know I’m no good’ but I also love her cover of ‘Will you still love me tomorrow ❤
Great reaction! You absolutely have to watch her full live performance on “other voices” in Ireland!
Brother… Back to Black!!!
Yes and amen ❤❤❤
What a great loss . Amy was so special. Thanks for the reaction.
Incredible artist. Gone too soon. Please react to more Amy Winehouse. Back to Black is an impeccable album. Arrangements, musicians, production value...all top shelf. ❤❤❤
There's a live rendition of Amy singing Love You More Than You'll Ever Know.. Unbelieveable! Goosebumps!

'Back To Black' live at Zenith, Paris. Her best performance at her best show.
Her cover of Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow is great

She did a couple of versions of that song, all beautiful.
Tony Bennet loved her so much he had her on his album! And hey speaking of Tony, listen to him people. You won't be sorry.
Her song with Tony Bennett was the last ever recording she made, just three months before she passed away. Such a tragic loss but I'm glad she got to fulfil that while she was here, and what a beautiful collaboration it was.
@@Michael-wx7dr yes it was.
It is so sad we lost this talent. Love this one. The last voice I heard like this was Billie Holliday, who also had a drug addiction.
my first hearing her too about a year ago. great voice, everything you say is right
I'm so jealous. I'd love to hear her music again for the first time. I've never cried for a celebrity death like I did Amy.
This is my favorite Amy song
mark ronson version is fantastic
This woman had the voice period!!!!! ❤❤
I agree. Her genius hits every time. ❤❤❤
Welcome to the club. She was a true artist. All the greats from Tony Bennet to Bob Dylan were big fans.
Check out Elkie Brooks AKA British Queen of Blues .

I loved the version she did of this with Mark Ronson. Maybe you could react to that version SteVen. 👍🎶🎼

RIP Amy - 27 forever
Try "Back to Black" an absolute masterpiece.
Especially with the video ❤
Yeah this is a cover, Frank her first album and back to black is her second! You should check them out the first one there is so much jazz and blues!!
Born to sing .RIP. glad you found this gem. Look up some live performances and you'll totally surrender to her musicianship. At least I did.
Her voice is amazing
Back to Black is my favourite
Rest in Power, sweet Amy. ♡

Amy Was Unique. Superb Guitarist By The Way.
Her rendition of Thelonious Monk's " 'Round Midnight"...amazing.
As is her rendition of the Standard, "Someone to Watch Over Me"
RIP
Elkie Brooks also does a great version of that.
@@Jake-jr2zh Thanks for the heads up amigo.
Great reaction to Amy
Well worth checking out the cover by Allie Sherlock it is outstanding imo
I got to see The Zutons do this live. However Amy’s cover is great but her story is so tragic. 😢
Older videos of Amy covering standards and a couple Beatles tunes are some of the best I've ever heard 💚🎵🎶
When she died, BBC music journalist Gary Mulholland said: 'we have lost the preeminent vocal talent of her generation'.
Great performance ❤
She was an amazing artist. She's sitting down, playing with her nails, and her vocals are still so strong. Gone too soon. Oh and this is a cover, the original was by The Zutons. One of my favourite female vocalists, along with Eva Cassidy - OMG check her out too

Definitely should do Back to Black, but not the music video as it’s heavily censored. I suggest the iTunes Festival version.
love that lass
Taylor Swift... this is talent,

There are a couple versions of this. All are great. Check out the version with Mark Ronson. Another great song by her is Tears Dry On Their Own ❤😂
It is a cover of The Zutons’ sing. I knew that version long before I heard her version. They are different and she sings the crap outrage this song!

Such a sensational singer, but such a sad life.
"Back to Black" movie and track is well worth checking out.

Video right here made me subscribe. Rehab (acoustic), Back to Black, You Know I'm No Good, and Addicted are all pretty good too.

Damn the demons that drove her.
A dash of Billie Holiday, a dash of Janis Joplin, but just Amy Winehouse. No one comes close to Billie Holiday, but she sure as hell tried.

Too bad everybody after her tried to sound like her, except they had to use Autotune LOL.
She fell in love with the wrong guy and as per usual the wrong person died.,,...

This is a cover, the original is better.
