For the second time on the channel, we are checking out Rodney Dangerfield on The Johnny Carson Tonight Show in 1974 with Dom LeLuise. Rodney just exudes comedy in everything he does, and the back and forth banter between him and Johnny Carson makes this even more hilarious! I love his comedic genius with the way he sets up a joke and his timing is perfect! Let me know what I should check out next from him! Hope you enjoy! #reaction #rodneydangerfield #comedy #johnnycarson #standupcomedy #comedyreaction

Keep in mind, this is Carol Burnett's TV show named after her and she has no idea what's going to happen and no control over Tim.
Haven't heard this in decades! So good. Lol
You have to understand that streaking was a big fad in the seventies….this is a remake for the modern video…I prefer the original, audio only version from 1974 (?) *Side note: At my older sister’s 1975 HS graduation there were streakers…..hilarious….broke up the boredom, haha!
There was a series of streakers during this time. Mostly at athletic events. But . . it was a thing. Streakers running naked through large crowds.
I remember when this video came out on MTV. I thought it was the coolest thing I had ever saw. I loved the song but I was so caught up in the video and trying to figure out how they did it. I think this video is a masterful piece of art! Also the high notes he’s hitting should be called Space X because he’s in the stratosphere!
Watch the movie Back to School. Rodney stars and one of his professors is Sam Kinison. And as far as Dom Deluise he played in a good many movies also.
The Monkees theme song to their show is also fire! Here we come….
Even Scooby Doo Cartoon way back at the beginning had great music in the cartoon. We knew all the songs by heart. Everything back in the day was entertaining, hopeful, silly, funny or happy but always entertaining, even our cartoons and shows like the Monkees. Music was a big part of all the tv shows back in the day. We had so many variety tv shows and they always had a plethora of great acts of all genres. It might be opera, Big Band, Polka music, rock, folk, country, gospel, you just never knew what you were going to hear on the Variety Shows but you knew it was going to be good. I still remember all the Scooby Doo songs from the cartoon back in the day! Great childhood, we were happy and loved it all but didn’t know how good we had it and that someday all that great talent would be gone or relegated to watching on UA-cam but thank goodness for UA-cam so we can still see and hear greatness!
Johnny Carson was the goat! I loved when I could stay up late with my grandparents and watch Johnny. I don’t know if it been asked for but, I hope sometime you might react to Neil Young and Crazy Horse- Cortez the Killer.
Davy Jones was British and a heart throb for all us young girls. He mostly played tambourine, sang and had killer dance moves. He enjoyed the music you could tell. Peter Tork was the one on piano but I believe he played guitar too? Mike Nesmith played guitar, wrote music and produced later on. If I remember correctly his mother invented something we all use but I can’t remember now what it was. Mickey Dolenz played drums and sang lead a lot and he was the crazy funny one. ❤
The Monkees was a tv show we used to watch when I was a kid and we loved it. It had funny antics in it and great music too! The Monkees were given a hard time over not playing their own instruments so they learned and I’ve always thought they were talented all the way around! They were good actors, they were funny, they did slapstick comedy well, they could sing and dance, they learned to play instruments. They have a lot of great music. “Not Your Stepping Stone” is one of my favorites, also “She,” “Words,” “A Little Bit Me A Little Bit You,” “Valerie,” “I Wanna Be Free,” “You Just May Be The One,” just to name a few, lol!
I have seen the worst version of the joke @ 5:07 I was driving, and there was a woman with a normal upper body, and you could have placed an '80s boombox on her butt! I'm not kidding, there must have been at least 8 inches from her back to the edge of her butt. If you've ever seen the old G4 show "Code Monkeys" there is an episode where a character DOES THAT to the boss after he (the boss) gets a "butt transplant" from a 'certain woman.' It was like seeing a llama without the front legs. Legs, butt-shelf, upper-body.
Yes Praise the Lord for you and your family looking out for your brother and staying the course, that is so hard and Praise God that your brother is sober. Hallelujah our Lord Saves! So so happy for your brother and your family! Wonderful!✝️❤️✝️
Gotta check out his music video from 1984 called Rappin' Rodney! Hilarious! Also, the "executioner" is played by Pat Benatar!
First time I ever saw a naked man was when 2 guys streaked at my high school's basketball game in '73-'74, when I was 14. I saw another streaker, also at school, later that year. And I was watching the Oscars when a streaker ran across the stage as David Niven was presenting. Niven's response was genius: "After breaking into laughter momentarily, Niven regained his composure, turned to the audience and quipped, "Well, ladies and gentlemen, that was almost bound to happen... But isn't it fascinating to think that probably the only laugh that man will ever get in his life is by stripping off and showing his shortcomings?"
Isn’t this a great song, a great message! Not to mention the music/vocals are phenomenal in this song! It’s an emotional song but a song of let’s do the right thing, let’s help each other out, look out for one another. It’s where the rubber meets the road kind of message. Let’s not talk about doing good, let’s actually do good for each other.
One of my favorites of theirs is Mary Did You Know, I would love to see you react to it!
Lots of speculation on what the song is about but if you listen to the lyrics he describes The House of the Rising Sun as a place of sin and misery and he says to tell your children not to do what I have done. He talks about his father being a gambler and a drunk and his mother was a tailor so I’m sure the father gambled and drank all their money away. It sounds to me like The House of the Rising Sun is a house of prostitution/brothel and he was a prostitute to make money. He said he was a poor boy. He also says and God I know I’m one when he refers to the House of The Rising Sun ruining a poor boy. He says at the end he’s got one foot on the platform and one foot on the train so he gives the impression that he doesn’t want to go back to that but at the same time gives the impression that that’s all he knows so he’s going back to wear that ball and chain, the life of sin and misery because it’s all he knows and that’s been his whole life so he doesn’t feel like he can escape it now, it’s been to long. Just my opinion and take on the song. Whatever the House of the Rising Sun was in the song, it was not a good place and it was a place poor boys sometimes ended up and it was a place of sin and misery, that he’s warning others not to go there.
Gotta check out Surfin' USSR
You are spot on with music before the 90’s. People really did have to be a master at their craft to make it and they had to be creative with their lyrics, their instrumentation, arrangements, etc. if they wanted to stay relevant and on top so you got a lot of creativity in the music back then plus lyrics were more curbed by the censors back then so again they had to get creative with the lyrics to get the same message across without actually saying words/phrases that were going to get them tossed, which made the lyrics cleaner and not so blunt in and in your face with the sexual stuff and cursing like we have today in music. For all the things mentioned above that’s why I think the old school stuff will always be danced to, relatable and pure joy to listen to. I mean some of this old stuff has been around for 80+ years and is still great and listened to. ❤
His wordplay is great. For a serious song check out "Everything is Beautiful."
He just as proud as he can be Of his anatomy He gonna give us a peek Classic Ray
The Animals were special, had great music. We Gotta Get Out Of This Place is also great. I love the organ in this song. Who am I kidding, I love an organ in any song but this guy rocks it out! The lyrics are cool too!❤
Used to play my parents Righteous Brothers Albums over and over in the 70’s when I was a kid. Bobby and Bill were both great singers in their own right but together they were even better! I believe you would enjoy Bill Medleys Brown Eyed Woman with The Blossoms, do the live version if you do it, it’s so good! Plus Bill was dating/living with one of The Blossoms at the time. Word was they wanted to get married but we’re having to keep their relationship a secret so finally decided as much as they loved each other it wasn’t possible during that time for them to get married. They both went on to marry other people. The song Brown Eyed Girl was about a mixed race couple and the two people that wrote it had no idea that Bill and Darlene Love of the Blossoms were dating/living together til they went over to Bills house to pitch their song and Darlene was their in Bills shirt early in the morning so the song really fit with the relationship they were having and the stereotype/racial tension of the time.
Oh wow!! Thanks for the insight! Wild times for sure! 😳

I had no idea there was a video for this! As another viewer of yours stated, streaking was popular in the 70s, and he released the song also in the 70s. Ray Stevens is currently 86 years young and is a legend in country music for his humorous songs as well as genuine singing including something GREAT called Everything Is Beautiful. The next thing you need to review is Shriner's Convention. Shriner's Convention was so popular that he was invited to an ACTUAL Shriner's convention to perform for them live.
Willie will be 92 in april and still does shows and smokes lbs of weed.
No one, absolutely no one can sing this song like Willie, he almost makes the emotion regret tangible
This is just a fun song and video, great hook and they look like they’re having fun. I like the message too! But the end shows she didn’t follow her own words lol! Btw, I love how much you love music, you can tell you thoroughly enjoy good music. You hear and notice those little background pieces that a lot of other reactors miss. It’s always a joy when a song is near the beginning and you’re already loving it and in my mind I’m sitting here thinking oh wait, you’re going to be blown away in just a minute more and you never fail to bring that joy when you hear the same pieces that blew us away back in the day. Enjoy watching you enjoy and appreciate the music and talent. Keep up the goodness! ❤

Beige by Yoke Lore is a more modern song but the lead singer plays banjo and that’s rare to see in modern music especially pop music I think. Might want to take a listen, I think you would enjoy it, it’s unusual with the banjo but it makes it a cool and pretty song.
Hee Haw was a staple in our house when I was a kid and we loved it! Good clean fun and talent!❤

johnny Carson was the greatest. He would let his guests shine when he interviewed them. He would let all his guests be together on stage and they often fed off each other to make the interviews even more interesting.

Ray remade a bunch of his more popular songs for these videos in the 80s or 90s I guess, but to me they lost some of the sharpness and charm. If you find the originals, they are better.
This is my favorite drum track on the album, it reminds me of Keith Moon.

Jackie Martling is great his delivery is a million jokes a minute you'll be laughing at one and he's already told three more but he's too blue for UA-cam
You've got to see the movie "Caddyshack" with Rodney Dangerfield, it's hilarious!
Johnny Carson was THE king of late night. To the comedians that were on the show he was a great straight man, even if the joke was about him. The best straight man for Carson, was his sidekick Ed McMahon. Find some of the old tonight show, you won't be disappointed. One of Carson's better characters was Carnac the Magnificent. 1000% entertainment the late night guys of today can't touch.
