It's good you bring up the need for sunscreen even when it's cloudy. I have several of those "solar dancing" figures on the window ledge in my bathroom where I get ready. Even when it is solid overcast outside THEY DANCE! This always reminds me that even if it's cloudy, the suns rays are getting through.
Dr. Dray you’re simply a gem!!! My skin continues to look and feel better since following your advice. I’ve converted a few friends to your best practices and will continue to point others to you. On Sunday I saw my first Robin of the year, and the week prior I heard a cardinal with his beautiful love song, and even a woodpecker. The first sings of spring stir my soul in a unique way that nothing else can. Winters in the north are great for quiet contemplation, but spring signals life renewed!
Dr. Dray, you've changed my life. I'm 26 and I've never had access to a dermatologist. Your knowledge and expertise has made every difference in my life. It's great to read ingredient labels with confidence and to know what's guality and what's just marketing gimmicks. Thank you! You're changing lives with your channel!
Used up my Biore Watery Essence and am working through the Nivea one in the pump. Also sent a bottle of the Nivea to my son in Canada who is an outdoor enthusiast but has never liked wearing sunscreen due to its "slimy" feeling (as he puts it). He's loving the Nivea one and has promised to keep using it. Yay! Thank you for all your wonderful recommendations. Just know that you're making a difference in the world's skin health! Blessings!
im obsessed with your channel! ever since Ive found you I've been binge watching. you have changed the game for my skincare products. ive always been sensitive and THOUGHT I was using pretty sensitive products until I was informed by you. thank you!!! I would love to see a video on facials mists such as Mario basdecu line. xoxo
I swear everytime I follow your advice with a gentle, gentle cleanser with no fragrance, humectant and gentle moisturizer with sunscreen my skin looks amazing and it’s glows!!!! Then my friends will recommend a product and it’s like my skin doesn’t look as great. Then I go back to what you recommend and your method of cleansing and moisturizing and my skin goes back to amazing. You are seriously omg I don’t even know a GOD SENT seriously my skin loves you!!
Hi Dr Dray. Thanks for sharing your morning skin care routine. You are so right! Sunblock is important every day, not just when it’s sunny! Blessings to you! So glad you’re here!! 💝💝💝💝💝💝
You're simply the best. I visited my doctor on Friday after a year and she said my skin looked tighter and better. All thanks to you. I have been following your cleansing, moisturizing ans sunscreen routine along with adapelene and benzoyle peroxide. I am so glad you have started tretinoin as I myself started it two weeks ago. Have been using it on alternate days. Hope everything goes well:) I understand it i's personal to you but would love to see your updated night time routine with tretinoin. No worries if you don't want to. Love
Dr. Dray, I recently stopped blasting myself with boiling hot water in the shower. I now shower in luke warm to cool water and my chronic redness on my face and chest is pretty much gone and my skin feels so much healthier
I really do appreciate the videos. I'm someone who has regularly worn sunscreen for as long as I can remember. I'm thrilled they've started to come out with fragrance-free, inexpensive, water-gel alternatives to regular thick sunscreens in the last few years. Thank you for promoting common-sense advice on sunscreen and acne-prevention. I've found the less I use, the better off my skin is. I only wish I had adhered to that years ago. Instead, I fell into the trap of assuming (based on advice and ads) that more must be better in terms of treatments and washes. It seemed the "better" I was to my skin (product-wise) the worse it looked. I only hope they never discontinue the Clear Pore BP wash. That stuff is awesome, more so than slathering on the treatment lotions for me (gentler with my sensitive skin). Keep up the good work!
I blame you for my most recent spf binge 😂😂😂 I now have 7 different products to play with. I actually look forward to putting on my sunscreen and love the two CeraVe ones you mentioned.
Dr Dray I’m soooo glad I found your channel. It’s very refreshing to watch and listen to an expert talk without the use of complicated words or just simply someone who doesn’t have a hidden agenda and wants you to buy a product for their own $ benefit. Thank you so much 😊
Watching my favorite UA-camr and watching it snow!!!! I’m happy to report that I used up a lot of sunscreen this winter thanks to you. I now layer my sunscreen in the morning and reapply it throughout the day. Prior to watching you I only applied one layer and only reapplied if I was outside for long periods of time.
Just love CeraVe and Hado Labo. Both lines are proof that great skincare doesnt have to be exorbitantly priced. I am so happy that you introduced me to Hado Labo. I wish more of the products were produced in the US so we dont have to order from Japan. I I am not sure the word "serum" is meaningless. From Merriam Webster"a usually lightweight cosmetic preparation especially for use on the face; specifically; typically water-based, often concentrated preparation that lacks lubricating and thickening agents an antiaging facial serum". I use a few serums from the Ordinary because they are single ingredient preparations like the 10% Niacinamide and the Alpha - Arbutin serums so that I can choose only what I want to use without a lot of additives I dont want or dont believe are effective thrown in. The serum products I have used are more lightweight and concentrated than lotions and you only need a few drops. . Here's hoping for full on Spring soon! We are having snow today-Grrrr.....
Serum is not necessarily stronger than a lotion or cream delivery system. After all, if that were the case then why would drugs like tazorac, effudex, a aczone be in cream form and not serum? There are no prescription drug "serums" for that matter, so the claim is a bit out of thin air, with no actual science to merit the statement. Since most cosmetics don't tell us concentrations of ingredients, i think it is misleading to assume that a 10% niacinamide is "more" niacinamide than what is in cerave or any other of the numerous moisturizers that contain this ingredient. Some serums are oil based and some are water based. Serums, are not created equal and there is no way to gauge any of this because there is not enough information provided on the label in terms of concentrations of inactive ingredients.
You are correct. All serums are not created equal as all lotions, gels, and creams are not created equal and I didnt say every serum that exists in the world is always stronger than every lotion or cream in the world. I simply do not understand why in the world is it a negative to prefer a thinner more watery product than a lotion or cream? If the issue is not knowing the exact amounts of every ingredient in a product, well, then that would apply to almost every product that is sold OTC. I use and love CeraVe but I have no idea how much niacinamide or any other ingredient is in CeraVe and the company has never co-operated with information requests in terms of ingredients. Do you know the amounts of every ingredient in the products you use especially the Japanese ones that have Japanese text? If the only legitimate products are prescription they why use any product you can purchase OTC? I simply do not understand condeming all products in a serum form, or any other form, for that matter without open minded investigation.
Respectfully, I'm going to disagree with you on the part of your objection about percentage of actives, as there's no way of knowing if brands don't list the %, is there? I'd be willing to guess that it's less as TO 10% is irritating (I dilute it in moisturizer). In my opinion listing the active % is a good practice that more brands should follow.
anthrogal19 Yes, that was my point that if the percentages of ingredients are not listed, whether active or inactive, there is no way to know unless you have inside info from the company or are mixing it up in your kithchen sink. Even seeing the order of ingredients wont give you a percentage. Fortunately, the TO 10% Niacinamidew/Zinc does not irritate my skin. Nor does the 2% Alpha-Arbutin. I layer serums one after another and then apply hydrator ( like the Hado Labo) and then the CeraVe AM directly after so it is possible that there may be a bit of dilution. I TOTALLY agree that all companies should list percentages of actives and as much as I love CeraVe it bothers me that they have not done this. Sunscreen filters have to be listed because they are regulated thank goodness. Cheers!
Well....it snowed here today after being teased by 70 degree weather and all the spring flowers in bloom😳 I'm sorta done with winter! Zaptit....got some I love it ! Hada Labo cleansing oil on my list.💕
Aloha Ms Andrea! I have a tip for you if you dont already know. I know there’s a bunch of product left in my bottles that i can’t get out. So i take scissors and cut the bottle in half. For example, take the zapzyt bottle and cut right above the zapzyt name. You’ll be able to get to the product easier. Then use the top of the bottle you cut off as the “cap”. Just pinch the bottom part of the bottle and wedge the top over it. Hope that makes sense! Haha! 🤙🏻❤️
I love the Japanese sunscreens that you recommend! my favorite is the bioré nobi nobi kids milk, alcohol-free but still with the amazing aesthetics of japanese suncreens
49 with 25 mph wind here in Atlanta with freezing rain off and on today. Supposed to be near 70 Friday. Our soon to be Spring weather is off to a bizarre start :) Thank you for going through all the products with quick and informative reviews.
It’s so nice to see you tonight Dr. Dray. I like the headband on you! Yes girl, I have Spring fever as winter is lasting too dang long here in CT! We have another nor’easter on the way. 🙄 Fingers crossed we don’t lose power again or lose another beloved tree. As always, love your videos. XO
Thank you dr dray for being on UA-cam and sharing your knowledge! I have tried so much for acne and recently bought a majority of the products you use and my skin is break out free. I also started drinking ginger water which I think contributes to clear skin as well. 💕💕💕💕💕
I just visited the dermatologist a few hours ago, and I got to ask them all the questions I needed, but thanks to you, my skin has been better than ever! Thx Dr. Dray!! You are quite the knowledgeable doctor! Much love to you, and have a beautiful week!!
Dr Dray’ I’m a new subscriber and I just love your videos! I am systematically watching them all and learning so much about skincare. I have been a skincare-loving beauty blogger for years but have learned more about skincare from watching your videos these past few days than all my years of blogging! Thank you so much for sharing such great info. You are providing such a great service to many with these videos!!!
Love the CeraVe facial moisturizer lotion SPF 30 on your recommendation, it doesn't sting my eyes. Since November I went through four bottles and even with two weeks of Maui no sunburn No Tan 😎
Previously watched a video touting 1 oz of Vitamin C “serum” for $199. Came here for my dose of realty, thank goodness. I am loving the Cerave tub moisture cream on my face after my shower. Still hanging on to a few more steps in my skin care, but they are all affordable, fragrence free products. Again thank you so much!
I finally purchased cerave am and pm moisturizers. I never thought we had them here in Saskatchewan,Canada, saw them in a local superstore. I still have an am and pm moisturizers that am currently using but when I saw the cerave products,I did not let them off my sight😍. Also I purchased a nivea lip balm with spf 30. I wish vanicream gets in here too, also the hada labo uv sunscreen. I bought elta MD physical sunscreen a month ago and been loving it!!
I love love love that zapzyt cleanser. It is so gentle on my skin compared to the neutrogena oil free acne wash. Thanks to you I've switched to the zapzyt cleanser in the am, vanicream cleanser in the pm followed by differin. Also just ordered the elta md UV elements tinted spf. My skin is looking so much better already. I never realized how much fragrance irritated my skin until I changed to all ff products. Thanks for all your suggestions!
Love the review!! I use quite a few of the products you use, and I just love them. Thank you so much for teaching me about them!!! I will use them forever. Have a wonderful day.
Going to rain here tomorrow,in Iceland!!! We don't have hardly any of the products you mention, but when I travel to Ireland and Canada, I have picked up CeraVe products and the Simply products at the Superdrug ...and sunscreens... gotta stalk up again soon. Thank you
I was able to get the hada labo cleansing oil refill pouch on amazon prime so I didn’t have to wait a month to get it from Japan. Also, if you wear makeup, the oil works better paired with the Cerave foaming cleanser than the hada labo foaming one.
I purchased the Zapzyt face wash and used it for the first time yesterday. I believe I had an allergic reaction. My face was very itchy. That's calmed down. But, my face is still warm, red and swollen 24 hours after I used the face wash.
that is common with salicylic acid face washes in the beginning, and is one of the reasons i emphasize not for around the eyes, and only use on acne-prone areas
Thank you for all your Differin videos. I also enjoyed the (playground type) wound care video. It was helpful when my son fell off his bike. Would you do a video on caring for first and second degree burns?
I'm so happy you discussed micellar water!!! I thought I was the only one that was allergic to them. I kept thinking, "This is just water how can I keep having reactions to it?" Will not use again :)
GM Dr. Dray! Happy Monday. I will be getting that zapzyt cleanser after I am done with neutrogena I have. And first time I used Ebates for my Macy’s order. Let’s see what I get back. Takes a few days to get credit in my ebates right?
I've been using Ebates for years. I got over $100 back on my purchases last year using them. You have the option for Ebates to send you a check quarterly or you can have your money deposited into your Paypal account. I've found I prefer the Paypal option.
I had been using Biore Ice Cleanser, but have switched to using Nizoral(as you suggested) for my seborrheic dermatitis. That has helped more than all of the prior things I was using. I think I was overdoing it and exacerbating the issue. So I have stopped all topical treatments. I put some hydrocortisone on the more angry, red areas, and this seems to be alleviating the irritation. It subsiding, but it is stubborn. I get some areas "cured" and it will flare up elsewhere. I stopped using cosmetics two years ago due to cost and a waste of time as I sweat profusely( medication side effect and hereditary from Father). I will see you tomorrow! My best to Mom and Fluffer Butt. You have a wonderful week Andrea.
Please do a review on aczone! I’m curious to know your opinion on it and to learn how it works and how to apply it etc. Love your videos! So fun and very informative!!
I haven't tried any of the Elta products yet but my current favorite is the Dr Dennis Gross dark spot sun defense. It's a physical spf 50. I prefer physical sunscreens and most of them just don't work for me under makeup when I wear it. That's been the best so far. I also like the Josie Maran one. Both are a little pricey but honestly I'll pay it when I like the product. If you have a Sephora near you, you can take samples home with you to test it out.
You're my new guru for all skin care, cosmeceuticals, anti-aging, etc. and you crack me up! In an earlier video you linked Avene sunscreen. Could you review Avene Antirouges Fort? I'm 62 and experiencing redness, maybe early signs of rosacea? My clinician gave me a script for Finacea gel. Would greatly appreciate your recommendation.
Cerave is at last available in the UK, I have a big tub on order. I use the Simply Pure "serums", so cheap and they are really good, thank you fo all your excellent advice
I’m from the UK and tried the whole Superdrug Simply Pure skincare range this winter too as I have rosacea but I also have dry skin, I didn’t find any of it moisturising/hydrating or helpful in anyway and actually felt my skin getting drier so wouldn’t buy again which is a shame. Thanks for another fab show Dr Dray 💕
Dr Dray they were applied to damp skin I don’t wash my face in the shower in the uk our winters are too cold that our showers need to be very warm and that’s not good for rosacea skin xx
If you still like Hadalabo cleansing oil after using the DHC one (which is also Japanese) then you should definitely keep using the Hadalabo one because DHC is not exactly a drugstore brand - although some drugstores do carry their products - and thus more expensive. (Hadalabo cleansing oil about $7 for 200ml, DHC about $20 for 200ml at Amazon Japan) And I'm loving my CeraVe products thanks to you, lol.
I think you might like to try the Hada Labo Gojukyun Premium Lotion (not actually a lotion). It’s kind of like the Plumping Gel except you get a lot more for your money. Great on soaking wet skin immediately after cleansing/showering.
Hi Dr. Dray!! Thank you so much for another informative and entertaining video! Just to be clear, which of the sunscreens would you say are the least irritating to the eye area? (while still being effective of course) 💜
Im so jealous with beauty youtubers bcoz they finish up products so fast. I need 1 full year just to finish a cleanser/lotion, so I cant try more products lol
Thank you so much for these wonderful suggestions. I have been purchasing your recommendations and loving them. I have daily flaking on my total eye area and I don't put my retin a on that area. Any suggestions? Have a great week. xoxo. Cindi
Hello. I love your chanel so much. you have such a funky personality :d ♥ please can you do a review on French skincare products such as avene bioderma la roche posy. Unfortunately those are only brands that are easley available in my country.
I’ve been using the eltamd as my main spf for about two weeks or so now since it’s super moisturizing and since I’m using tretnoin .1% I feel it’s helped with the peeling that’s come along with the benefits of the Retin-a
Christian Maala which Elta MD sunscreen are you using? I want to try the UV elements because I want a darker tint. Currently I use UV physical but the tint is a little light for my tan skin.
Yeah I’m using the spf 44. Also, if the tint does not soothe your skin tone lending in B.B. cream that matches your skin tone with the spf may work. I feel B.B. cream in the iron Oxide seems to be a little hevier. I tried it since someone accidentally bought B.B. cream so I had to use it.
Do you put on the cerave moisturizing CREAM while your face is still wet? Or do you only apply lotion while it's wet? Just wondering if the cream would apply as well while the face is wet.
Have you tried UltraSun? I picked one up in the airport while I was overseas after hearing that Europe has better chemical sunscreens than in the US. I'm keeping it for the summer as it's an SPF 50. It's funny to see in the airport duty-free shop all these beauty creams out front while sunscreen is hidden away in the back on a lower shelf.
-I finished the Clinique Moisture Surge Intense this winter and loved it ! Just repurchased it & now trying it out with Differin & my PanOxyl face wash ! Took your recommendation to stop using my toner and serum. Will see how it goes in treating my acne !
The suggestions about CeraVe have been very helpful, and the products work very well for me. You said something about not using oils on your face. Can you explain more? I use oils to seal in moisturizers.
Hi Andrea, I'm going to have a year using retinoids on march sixteen, and my skin is better than a year ago, my nose and chin acne comedones are on control, and my wrinkles are less noticeable.Thank you for your tips.xoxo
Dr. Dray! Do you have any recommendations for laundry detergent that is effective but doesn't irritate skin? I want to wash my pillow cases and facial wash cloths with something more gentle and I think i might be irritated by my traditional tide detergent
Sarah Haley I’m curious to know Dr. Dray’s opinion too! I’ve been using All free & clear and Seventh Generation or green-works bleach that don’t contain chlorine. I have very sensitive skin and those don’t seem to bother me.
Clean and clear ALL works, or anything by Method or Seventh Generation (if you are ok with natural fragrances). The regular Tide detergent is very irritating
Hey you 🤓 I tried something interesting with regards to the CeraVe moisturisers which I thought I’d share. Also regarding iHerb yes, they do a really fast delivery compared to other companies. After applying my CeraVe pm moisturiser after cleansing on wet skin, I then applied the CeraVe moisturising Cream over the top to around the eye area and face as it’s still cold here in U.K and my face needed more moisturising. Wow that combination felt really nice and good as the CeraVe pm is almost too light being oil free and applying CeraVe moisturising cream over really sealed in the pm moisturiser and the moisturising cream having petroleum mid ingredients wise is a better Occlusives made this combination really work lol. Just thought I’d share ✍️🤞
Loved this video - simple uncomplicated skincare IS best! I used up my DCL Active Mattifying Cleanser (2% salicylic acid), Obagi Hydrate, Elta MD UV Clear, and AlphaH BHA liquid.
That Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Hydrating cleanser burned and dried out my skin, what ingredient is causing that so I can avoid it? Thanks for all of the knowledge you share!
there are many reasons people report "burning" that could be related to an ingredient, but more often than not are related to other things (other products being used at the same time, climate, concomittant medications, etc)
Hi Dr Dray, enjoyed ,since I have been using spf daily,Yes even indoors,I had to re-order my Toleriane Double RepairUVspf30,I like this ,it has cermides3,+niacinamides that you always speak of how important they are for our skin.I want to try the new Cera-v SA cleanser & how is differin different than Redermic R? 👏👏🌈🐰🐇🐕
Hello from Hong Kong which is always not too cold. Here Hada Labo has a number of different lines including some new products that claim to contain rice essence. Can send you if you wanna try it out (to thank you for the great videos)! And ps i don't work for them haha
I love HL. Very kind of you to offer, but please don't feel you have to send me things as a thank you. I am gratified enough to interact with you in the comments and by the act of making and sharing videos.
Another question. Have you tried the La Roche-Posay Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Cleanser? I’ve heard some good things about this gentle cleanser and comes in 400ml which is a pretty good size contains Ceramide-3, Niacinamide, Glycerin and other good ingredients.
Dr. Dray, do you ever shop at Trader Joe's? I just picked up a hyaluronic acid serum there and was wondering if it is comparable to the hada labo one..? The ingredients for TJ's Serum are: Water, Propanediol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin.
I really hope your channel is monetized. You deserve to get paid for the awesome info that you are sharing daily. I get more good information from you than I have at an actual doctor's appointment. Thanks for all you do!
Have I missed a video about reversing sun damage as a child? I used to get sunburns daily from not reapplying sunscreen. I would regularly turn purple... I'm grateful that so far I've been cleared from having any pre-cancerous/cancerous spots & I would like to keep it that way... (My Dermatologist goes through the appointment so fast he's out of the room before I can ask questions.)
I just discovered your videos and I have been learning so much. Thank you so much for making them. In another video you said First Aid Beauty ultra repair cream has good ingredients. How would you compare it to the Cerave moisturizer in the tub? I like the First Aid Beauty very much. I wonder if Cerave is equal or better and I could save some $. Thank you.
It's good you bring up the need for sunscreen even when it's cloudy. I have several of those "solar dancing" figures on the window ledge in my bathroom where I get ready. Even when it is solid overcast outside THEY DANCE! This always reminds me that even if it's cloudy, the suns rays are getting through.
what is a "solar dancer" ...i need that!
www.amazon.com/dp/B01MQQIZ43/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_Y7OQAb9M28124
Often times I find solar dancing figures at CVS in the seasonal toy section

I’m so excited for you!! your channel is growing so fast!!! So deserving!!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
:)
Well....it snowed here today after being teased by 70 degree weather and all the spring flowers in bloom😳 I'm sorta done with winter! Zaptit....got some I love it ! Hada Labo cleansing oil on my list.💕
this time of year can be up and down
Aloha Ms Andrea! Haha! 🤙🏻❤️
my mom does that too :)
Thanks for the awesome video! I used to love to go browse at Sephora. Now my favorite place to browse is the drugstore!
Thanks! Drugstore can't be beat, lol
I love the Japanese sunscreens that you recommend! my favorite is the bioré nobi nobi kids milk, alcohol-free but still with the amazing aesthetics of japanese suncreens
I want to try nobi nobi kids sometime
Yes! please do a video on detergents and fabric softeners!
i don't use fabric softener
49 with 25 mph wind here in Atlanta with freezing rain off and on today. Supposed to be near 70 Friday. Our soon to be Spring weather is off to a bizarre start :) Thank you for going through all the products with quick and informative reviews.
omg stay warm...peaches soon :)
XO
One of my friend's in Greenwich posted a photo of the snow..stay warm!
Thank you dr dray for being on UA-cam and sharing your knowledge! I have tried so much for acne and recently bought a majority of the products you use and my skin is break out free. I also started drinking ginger water which I think contributes to clear skin as well. 💕💕💕💕💕
:)
In MN we still have 6 inches of snowpack to melt...come on Spring. Target has all sunscreen bogo 25% off this week.
Stay warm :)
Sarah Van Niewaal .....thanks for letting all us Minnesotans know....I'm ready for SPRING!
Love love you Dr. Dray- you are the best! Hopefully soon my husband and I can retire and you my dear are a big help keeping us beautifully on budget.
Thanks Ms Bonnie :)
I just visited the dermatologist a few hours ago, and I got to ask them all the questions I needed, but thanks to you, my skin has been better than ever! Thx Dr. Dray!! You are quite the knowledgeable doctor! Much love to you, and have a beautiful week!!
Thanks Ms Lizzy! Glad to hear you were able to ask your questions
No, thank you! It means so much to me! =)
I really do appreciate your empties videos, it gives us a bird's eye view on how different SPF's worked on you. Have a great day 🤗
Thanks! You too Ms Neyda
Head to toe tub takeover!!!!! I love that stuff! I'll start using it on my face when my current moisturizer is gone.
it is so easy!
Thanks :)
I luv my Cerave doc, use it all the time! Thanks for sharing your empties and here's to spring finally get its tail here!! XOXO Sharon
It is a good one :)
I bought the Asian Nivea sunscreen at your recommendation and really like it. It's a lighter lotion than plays well with makeup.
It is a good one! Glad to hear you are enjoying it too
Love the CeraVe facial moisturizer lotion SPF 30 on your recommendation, it doesn't sting my eyes. Since November I went through four bottles and even with two weeks of Maui no sunburn No Tan 😎
:)
:)
Would love you to review the Perricone MD skin care line please🙏🏻 Thank you!!! Love your channel❤️
see my ulta skin care review video ("drugstore review" playlist)
I finally purchased cerave am and pm moisturizers. I never thought we had them here in Saskatchewan,Canada, saw them in a local superstore. I still have an am and pm moisturizers that am currently using but when I saw the cerave products,I did not let them off my sight😍. Also I purchased a nivea lip balm with spf 30. I wish vanicream gets in here too, also the hada labo uv sunscreen. I bought elta MD physical sunscreen a month ago and been loving it!!
:) glad to hear :)
What product would you recommend for the driest lips on the PLANET!?Thnx girl! I am so grateful to have found you on youtube!
Best Lip balms ua-cam.com/video/8hRVwCmpSsg/v-deo.html
I love love love that zapzyt cleanser. It is so gentle on my skin compared to the neutrogena oil free acne wash. Thanks to you I've switched to the zapzyt cleanser in the am, vanicream cleanser in the pm followed by differin. Also just ordered the elta md UV elements tinted spf. My skin is looking so much better already. I never realized how much fragrance irritated my skin until I changed to all ff products. Thanks for all your suggestions!
Yeah zapzyt is by far the best BHA i have used
Love the review!! I use quite a few of the products you use, and I just love them. Thank you so much for teaching me about them!!! I will use them forever. Have a wonderful day.
Happy Monday Ms Jackie
Yay Spring break! Glad to have Macy home!!! I love a great empties video! Thx for doing this!!!
yay for spring break!
Going to rain here tomorrow,in Iceland!!! We don't have hardly any of the products you mention, but when I travel to Ireland and Canada, I have picked up CeraVe products and the Simply products at the Superdrug ...and sunscreens... gotta stalk up again soon. Thank you
cliniderm products in canada are also very good
I was able to get the hada labo cleansing oil refill pouch on amazon prime so I didn’t have to wait a month to get it from Japan.
Thanks!
Enjoyed Empties!! Feeling Springy!! Yay!! Happy Monday:)
:)
I'm so happy you discussed micellar water!!! I thought I was the only one that was allergic to them. I kept thinking, "This is just water how can I keep having reactions to it?" Will not use again :)
:)
Just a tip, regarding the Simply Pure bottles, when i can’’t pump anymore out, i cut the bottle. You will be surprised how much is left in the bottle!
thanks
I’m going to try the foot cream, I’m on my feet all day on cement flooring.... rubber mat helps the joints but not so much for getting calluses haha.
It is a good one
I tried to get this a couple weeks ago and couldn’t find it online or in any Walgreen stores near me!
That foot cream saved my feet this winter. They are the softest they have ever been.
I have the Avene sunscreen and it works so well with my oily skin 😊
:)
GM Dr. Dray! Happy Monday. I will be getting that zapzyt cleanser after I am done with neutrogena I have. And first time I used Ebates for my Macy’s order. Let’s see what I get back. Takes a few days to get credit in my ebates right?
Yes, the check comes about every three months
I've been using Ebates for years. I got over $100 back on my purchases last year using them. You have the option for Ebates to send you a check quarterly or you can have your money deposited into your Paypal account. I've found I prefer the Paypal option.
So excited for spring, long winter in Maine lol...excited for this video also, thank you♡
I bet! Maine is beautiful
You have a wonderful week Andrea.
glad to hear the nizoral is going well! Tybee says hello :)
Please do a review on aczone! I’m curious to know your opinion on it and to learn how it works and how to apply it etc. Love your videos! So fun and very informative!!
:)
I've used up Cerave Foaming Cleanser, Cerave in the tub and Cerave PM. Looooove Cerave lol. Getting low on Differin.
:)
I love the Cerave pm. The am burns my eyes so bad and I don't put it anywhere near them.
bnb0510 I didn’t like the cerave am it leaves my face dry and it also stringed my eyes 👀
I experience the same thing, what do you use in place of the AM? If you don't mind telling me.
bogey Bognar thanks for that suggestion. Problems with cerave am also.
I use the CeraVe ultra-light moisturizing lotion that has SPF 30, it doesn't irritate my eyes like the morning formula does
You're my new guru for all skin care, cosmeceuticals, anti-aging, etc. and you crack me up! In an earlier video you linked Avene sunscreen. Could you review Avene Antirouges Fort? I'm 62 and experiencing redness, maybe early signs of rosacea? My clinician gave me a script for Finacea gel. Would greatly appreciate your recommendation.
i discussed it in my dermatologist recommended products video
Ready for Spring :) Dry here in Colorado but Sunny and warm!
Colorado is so pretty in the spring (actually year round, lol)
Dr Dray , Yes! Colorado is very pretty ❤
Cerave is at last available in the UK, I have a big tub on order. I use the Simply Pure "serums", so cheap and they are really good, thank you fo all your excellent advice
Yay! I love those moisturizers...trying out the cream cleanser and really love it too!
Thanks for another fab show Dr Dray 💕
did you try them applied to your wet face after getting out of shower/cleansing?
Dr Dray they were applied to damp skin I don’t wash my face in the shower in the uk our winters are too cold that our showers need to be very warm and that’s not good for rosacea skin xx
Hi there, Dr. Dray! Have you seen the new Dove Dermaseries products? I would love a review if you have time! ❤️
yes
If you still like Hadalabo cleansing oil after using the DHC one (which is also Japanese) then you should definitely keep using the Hadalabo one because DHC is not exactly a drugstore brand - although some drugstores do carry their products - and thus more expensive. (Hadalabo cleansing oil about $7 for 200ml, DHC about $20 for 200ml at Amazon Japan)
And I'm loving my CeraVe products thanks to you, lol.
I think i prefer HL
"I'm feeling springy"
Me: "Get's 10 inches of snow by tomorrow morning in New York."
stay warm and cozy
I think you might like to try the Hada Labo Gojukyun Premium Lotion (not actually a lotion). It’s kind of like the Plumping Gel except you get a lot more for your money. Great on soaking wet skin immediately after cleansing/showering.
Dave A It is a toner and moisturizer hybrid
I have used that
Dr Dray This one is different than the regular Hada Labo lotion. It has a greater variety of hyaluronic acid compounds and is more viscous.
Dr Dray This one is different than the regular Hada Labo lotion. It has a greater variety of hyaluronic acid compounds and is more viscous.
Dave A I use that and really love it.
Wait you don’t use soap on your body? Do you have a shower routine or recommendation video explaining how you get clean? Thanks!
no; yes.....search my channel "what;s in my shower"
I like Vanicream better than Cerave. Do you still recommend Vanicream.
yes
Hi Dr. Dray!! Thank you so much for another informative and entertaining video! Just to be clear, which of the sunscreens would you say are the least irritating to the eye area? (while still being effective of course) 💜
i have zero irritation with sunscreens around the eyes, period, so it will vary by person and no way to predict
Dr Dray
Ahh lucky you!! Lol. Thank you for the quick response!
Im so jealous with beauty youtubers bcoz they finish up products so fast. I need 1 full year just to finish a cleanser/lotion, so I cant try more products lol
sunscreen goes quick around here
thanks Dr.Dray as always, very informative and fun at the same time,
regular face washes are not enough to remove sunscreen?
water is enough most of the time
thank you
Love your channel !! You’re amazing 😊💜🧡💛
Thanks!
Loving your channel from Canada! When you reapply sunscreen, do you wash your face first or just keep adding layers of sunscreen throughout the day ?
no
Thank you so much for these wonderful suggestions. I have been purchasing your recommendations and loving them. I have daily flaking on my total eye area and I don't put my retin a on that area. Any suggestions? Have a great week. xoxo. Cindi
I also would like to know what you suggest for eye area...I have ocular rosacea and wonder if cerave products are safe for that area?
I have some under eye videos
Lucky! Still chilly here in Kansas.
Stay warm :)
I live in the Chicago area and we are at 39 degrees today! I swear some people are breaking out their shorts already. Not me, it's still cold!
that does not sound like shorts weather to me, lol
Hello. I love your chanel so much. you have such a funky personality :d ♥ please can you do a review on French skincare products such as avene bioderma la roche posy. Unfortunately those are only brands that are easley available in my country.
You should do an empties video for all of your sunscreens
:)
I’ve been using the eltamd as my main spf for about two weeks or so now since it’s super moisturizing and since I’m using tretnoin .1% I feel it’s helped with the peeling that’s come along with the benefits of the Retin-a
:)
Dr Dray I love elta md
Christian Maala which Elta MD sunscreen are you using? I want to try the UV elements because I want a darker tint. Currently I use UV physical but the tint is a little light for my tan skin.
Yeah I’m using the spf 44. Also, if the tint does not soothe your skin tone lending in B.B. cream that matches your skin tone with the spf may work. I feel B.B. cream in the iron Oxide seems to be a little hevier. I tried it since someone accidentally bought B.B. cream so I had to use it.
Christian Maala thanks for your quick reply Christian! So how’s the tint of Elta MD UV elements spf 44? Is it light or medium?
Do you put on the cerave moisturizing CREAM while your face is still wet? Or do you only apply lotion while it's wet? Just wondering if the cream would apply as well while the face is wet.
yep
Have you tried UltraSun? I picked one up in the airport while I was overseas after hearing that Europe has better chemical sunscreens than in the US. I'm keeping it for the summer as it's an SPF 50. It's funny to see in the airport duty-free shop all these beauty creams out front while sunscreen is hidden away in the back on a lower shelf.
yes :)
-I finished the Clinique Moisture Surge Intense this winter and loved it ! Just repurchased it & now trying it out with Differin & my PanOxyl face wash ! Took your recommendation to stop using my toner and serum. Will see how it goes in treating my acne !
:)
Dr Dray, will oil extract, and exercise, improve neck area. Thank you so much for sharing your time, and knowledge!
:) glad to hear this Ms Maria!
Dr. Dray! Do you have any recommendations for laundry detergent that is effective but doesn't irritate skin? I want to wash my pillow cases and facial wash cloths with something more gentle and I think i might be irritated by my traditional tide detergent
Sarah Haley My kids with sensative skin do well with free and clear by ALL liquid. I also always do a 2nd rinse.
Tide has a free and clear too ...
Sarah Haley I’m curious to know Dr. Dray’s opinion too! I’ve been using All free & clear and Seventh Generation or green-works bleach that don’t contain chlorine. I have very sensitive skin and those don’t seem to bother me.
Green Tree All free and clear is at costco. And often on rebate. Not specialty at all. We do rinse twice!
Just thought I’d share ✍️🤞
glad to hear the cerave is working well :)
Andrea, thank you for your reply. Greetings to your Mom, I miss her on your everyday's or weekend's videos.xoxo
:)
Loved this video - simple uncomplicated skincare IS best! I used up my DCL Active Mattifying Cleanser (2% salicylic acid), Obagi Hydrate, Elta MD UV Clear, and AlphaH BHA liquid.
Thanks!
I like a minimalist approach. My skincare is easy peasy too.
frees up a lot of time
That Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Hydrating cleanser burned and dried out my skin, what ingredient is causing that so I can avoid it? Thanks for all of the knowledge you share!
there are many reasons people report "burning" that could be related to an ingredient, but more often than not are related to other things (other products being used at the same time, climate, concomittant medications, etc)
Good morning Dr. Dray how often did you use differn every night or a couple nights ty love your videos 😄
i used it every night for a year
Dr Dray thank you so much 😄
Dr Dray, You mentioned that BHA cleansers should not be used when using retin a Cream. Does the same apply for an AHA cleanser and retin a cream?
Hi Dr Dray, enjoyed ,since I have been using spf daily,Yes even indoors,I had to re-order my Toleriane Double RepairUVspf30,I like this ,it has cermides3,+niacinamides that you always speak of how important they are for our skin.I want to try the new Cera-v SA cleanser & how is differin different than Redermic R? 👏👏🌈🐰🐇🐕
i like that one...redermic has the reintol, so can be irritating and may increase sun sensitivity
Redermic-R does not cause any type of irritation on my sensitive skin💟
Hello from Hong Kong which is always not too cold. Here Hada Labo has a number of different lines including some new products that claim to contain rice essence. Can send you if you wanna try it out (to thank you for the great videos)! And ps i don't work for them haha
I love HL. Very kind of you to offer, but please don't feel you have to send me things as a thank you. I am gratified enough to interact with you in the comments and by the act of making and sharing videos.
Another question. Have you tried the La Roche-Posay Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Cleanser? I’ve heard some good things about this gentle cleanser and comes in 400ml which is a pretty good size contains Ceramide-3, Niacinamide, Glycerin and other good ingredients.
yes, i mentioned it on my IG
Dr. Dray, do you ever shop at Trader Joe's? I just picked up a hyaluronic acid serum there and was wondering if it is comparable to the hada labo one..? The ingredients for TJ's Serum are: Water, Propanediol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin.
not really...mine sort of sucks tbh
it doesn't have fragrance, but depending on the water content it may not be concentrated as HL
I really hope your channel is monetized. You deserve to get paid for the awesome info that you are sharing daily. I get more good information from you than I have at an actual doctor's appointment. Thanks for all you do!
Thanks for watching :)
3:00 zapzyt is better than the neutrogena orange acne cleanser not only because its fragrance free but because it has no dyes..
Have I missed a video about reversing sun damage as a child?
I used to get sunburns daily from not reapplying sunscreen. I would regularly turn purple... I'm grateful that so far I've been cleared from having any pre-cancerous/cancerous spots & I would like to keep it that way... (My Dermatologist goes through the appointment so fast he's out of the room before I can ask questions.)
you can't reverse that, but tretinoin can help remove some of the sundamaged skin cells in the epidermis and strengthen the deeper layers of the skin
I would love to try the Hada Labo cleansing oil! Is it a good choice for acne/sebacious hyperplasia skin types?
it is good for removing makeup, but needs to be rinsed off
So glad you give sound advice. The latest aesthetician push here on UA-cam is cacay oil. Seriously. More oil to magically erase your wrinkles.
:)
Thank you.
I reviewed that one in my moisturizer favorites video and compared it to cerave
