"Don't underestimate mother nature." THANK YOU. So many people are mystified that I am allergic to rose items in skincare/makeup. They think "how can you be allergic to something that is natural?"
“Slapping your immune system with roses and lilies when it has more important things to do?’ 😂😂😂😂 you are hilarious! Love you so much!!😘 ...when I am sad my husband says- “go and watch Dr. Dray, you will feel better.” Thanks for this wealth of information 🙏.
I wish I could like this over and over again. Hands down my favourite videos are when you speak truth to the power of the cosmetics industry. I could listen to you speak common sense science all day every day. At this risk of hyperbole this is SO IMPORTANT everywhere but especially UA-cam. Keep fighting the good fight. 👊🏻🙌🏻
I came across your videos while searching for a solution to my red cheek with tiny bumps. I’m now binge watching all your videos! Thank you for being so gracious with your knowledge. I’m so grateful.
Thanks for clarifying the term dermatologist tested! It’s like that old phrase in toothpaste commercials - 4 out of 5 dentists recommend etc. Etc. I always thought that sounded bogus!!!
I get a sinus headache if I even walk into a Lush store, lol. I appreciate all the wonderful information in this video. As I’ve mentioned, I have a fragrance allergy, and in my mid-50’s it became worse and I had to go fragrance free on rinse off products also. It’s more expensive than the Free and Clear, but Paula’s Choice has a wonderful fragrance free shampoo and conditioner.
Thank you Dr. Dray! Very helpful as I learn how to choose products based on ingredients not marketing. I admit I get sucked in by marketing and feeling higher priced items must be better, but I’m much wiser after finding your channel, and my skin has never looked better or felt healthier. So very thankful you share your knowledge!
This is all so true!! I used Alterna hair products for years until last summer when I suddenly developed a severe allergic reaction to their products. My Dermatologist recommended the Free and Clear shampoo and conditioner. My allergic reaction cleared up within a week! I am not in love with the Free and Clear as it is very drying. I have been carefully using the Shea Moisture leave in conditioner to combat the dryness and so far have not had a bad reaction to it.
Dr.Dray I defended my graduate thesis and I would equate the experience akin to being put through a meat grinder-lol. I appreciate you taking the time to clear up false misconceptions regarding labeling of products only to enhance the marketability of the item. Consumer beware.
I'm delighted with the information you share. I'm a newly graduated doctor and I appreciate the ability you certainly have to make yourself understood by your followers. I've always considered dermatology to be incredibly delicate and you do a great job simplifying it for everyone and also encouraging people to consult specialists. Bravo! ¡Gracias por la información, Dra.!
I always knew sunscreen was important... nobody explained it better than you. Now I wear sunscreen everyday, and I had my kids and my husband wear it too. Nobody leaves the house without sun protection. 😉
Happy Monday! Fabulous and informative as always, peer review nearly gave me a breakdown. All of that biomed and now I'm an antiques dealer! Thanks to your help, my family have the best skin health ever. So a huge thanks and lots of love from the Baker clan! P.S. my eldest thinks you are awesome and wants to be a dermatologist when he grows up! Inspiring the next generation 💜
Thankyou Dr. Dray for sharing your knowledge with us. Unfortunately it seems that the "skin care professionals" at the mall seem more concerned with selling me a ton of product than what they actually know about the product itself. Its sooooo nice to have someone who is actually educated about skin give us the truth. Your a blessing. Thankyou! Thankyou! Thankyou!
Took a break from studying for midterms when your video popped up in my notification bar. Love your videos Dr.Dray❤️ Greetings from Saskatchewan,Canada :)
I also keep hearing about 'medical grade' skincare products (not prescriptions), usually sold at cosmetic dermatologists' and plastic surgeons' office. Gimmick or are the active ingredients truly better quality (if such a thing even exists)? I'm excited about your upcoming video! Thank you, have a great day!
Skin care in our Aldi (which is nice BTW), also sometimes carries those labels. I always read the ingredients, and most all skin care there has "sodium hyaluronate" in it. I'll take it! It's less fragranced than my Nivea, so it certainly isn't bad and it is affordable at 2.49 euro a product. Oh, I'm in Belgium BTW. Our Aldi do quite the range of skin care. Our Lidl has some skin care but not a lot (it is a store similar to Aldi). Lush is over the top for me too, both due to the overkill on fragrance and the pricing. Most of all the pricing! I'm on a strict budget, which is why I appreciate your channel a lot - you keep it real.
Hi Doc I've been watching your videos for 3 days, every chance i get. I can't tell you how happy i am that i'm even taking notes... Your so helpful.. Thank you so much, Mary from Texas
I've learnt to ignore the labels on the front. I remember being recommended and being assured from staff, that the dream cream from Lush was suitable for eczema and wouldn't cause a reaction. I put it on my son and he was covered in blisters from it. Now I just go straight to the ingredients list.
Dr Dray! You’ll never believe it. I used to think you exaggerated about all that fragrance stuff, but guess what These months I became allergic to fragrances!! I HATE the smell of perfume! I may have even been diagnosed with asthma! You are so right! Fragrance sucks!
Thank you so much for sharing this information! I have eczema and luckily, haven’t had a reaction to anything labeled “hypoallergenic”. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Yes yes yes to your comments on the all natural skincare!! It’s very frustrating for those of us who want to choose cruelty free but also do not want dermatitis.
At 12:00 .....I agree because I used castille soap in college and I used it later on in life and my skin was set a fire. It was a very painful experience. I used Dr. Bronners Castille liquid soap (the baby's castille soap) and I have stayed away from this soap with the exception of using it to do dishes or other household cleaning.
Thank you! I am so grateful for all the information that you share : ) And I realize now that this is just like for food! In general, you ignore the claims of the manufacturer on the label and just look at the list of ingredients (and the table).
Ok Dr Dray... you have officially blown me away today! Here I’ve been buying all these serums and creams only to find out they’re either useless or harmful. I had no idea about fragrance… My skin is not extremely sensitive but I had no idea that it could be someday.Thank you so much!
Loved this! It’s very helpful. It can be difficult trying to decipher a product label. It’s sad that we can’t pay much attention to all the marketing claims they put on the packaging and there are MANY UA-camrs who recommend products based on the claims companies make. I can’t tell you how thankful I am for you and your channel!!!
This video was so awesome in helping with ingredients. I've minimised my routine but have found that even the non natural products are now almost 3/4 botanical extracts. It's so frustrating but knowing now ,thanks to you what to look for us so helpful. Thankyou 💜 I love these ingredient videos to really learn things that you just wouldn't know as a consumer without help. ☺ Can't wait for tomorrow!
I absolutely enjoy and value your channel so much! I love skincare and enjoy using them but with the cosmetic industry advertisement it is impossible to know what is good for your skin. Your channel helps people to know how to takecare of their skin long term! Thank you so much ☺️ 🙏🏻
..so is 💩 natural. "Natural" doesn't mean that it's good for you at all and I just HATE when companies, skincare and otherwise, try to mislead the public with that label.
Wonderful information as ever! One question please if we should reapply sunscreen every few hours how can I apply it over makeup without removing it, would a spray sunscreen work over my makeup? X
Concerning fragrance specifically: my mum has been using moisturizers and assorted other products for a good 20-30 years now and has had zero issues that I'm aware of....I start getting into care at 33, buy some products with fragrance annnd bam, in about 3-4 months I developed contact dermatitis (it's cleared up now). So idk what to make of all this. I guess not all fragrance is created equal and how you react may have something to do with the other products you're using and your skin type/genetics. I know my skin is much more like my dad's but I ain't a doctor. I'm guessing if you've been using a product with fragrance for like, 6 months then you're probably in the clear but I'd be careful about what you go mixing it with. I think a lot of people, myself included at one point, kinda ignore the warnings about fragrance. Sometimes when you're out shopping it seems like it's in almost EVERYTHING, so it can't be that bad, right? Wrong.
I’m so happy that I found your channel! It’s crazy how they use these “important” labels as marketing. So misleading. Do you have any recommendations for baby body wash, shampoo, lotion, etc? It seems like everything I can find on the market at drugstores all has that added “baby fragrance.” Would love to see a video on best and worst baby skincare products at drugstores! :)
I wishall the you tube "beauty gurus" would check out your videos. Many promote multiple expensive products without rhe science behind them. Thank you for being educational. Love your channel.
Thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos! I love that I can buy skin care products with this information and feel confident that I'm buying wholesome products, you are awesome!!! 💓
Wow I just tried out a sample of the Olay luminous whip moisturizer last night and even though I searched for the ingredients and spotted "fragrance" I really loved how it was so light on my face, the delicious scent, and didn't leave a greasy look/feel. It looked matte, a good contrast to my combo skin. But thank you for letting us know that products we use deliberately, that has fragrance, will EVENTUALLY cause a reaction with our skin. I'm pulling out my skincare products and checking the ingredients now.. lol. Thank you Dr. Dray!
It’s not right for companies to label their products fragrance free if it truly isn’t! I’m studying to be an esthetician in a Dermalogica sponsored program and I am so allergic to it! Full of essential oils and botanical ingredients. Started with perioral dermatitis now every time I even put the products on my hands to use on a client I break out in hives up my arms, it’s happened about 3 times each a month apart. Schools shouldn’t be allowed to use products like that either if it’s known to be a common allergen! It upsets me so much, we’re supposed to make the skin better not highly reactive.
I am sorry to hear the dermalogica products have so much fragrance. I know they are popular, and I hope they can create a fragrance free line for their loyal fan base
Hi Doctor Dray! I love your videos so much, it would mean a lot to me if you could caption them! The automatic captions do not do your video's justice at all. I am hearing but find it difficult to watch videos without captions, and the deaf community has just about no idea what you are saying. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this! My question is, why do these products include these ingredients in the first place!? Seems misleading and not ethical marketing :( very sad for people who may suffer from these hidden ingredients that do nothing but mark up prices! You’re the best dr dray!
Hate when Brands says "EO with high percentage is not recommended to use with those sensitive skin" yet the product claims to be soothing and calming. Ugh 😔☹️ Clearly they're misleading the consumers. I hope everyone sees this video and knew Dr. Dray. 💕
Thank you again, I hope people are starting to realize how much money is wasted on skincare, when really all you need are a few steps, to have nice skin, looking forward to your next reviews🤗👏
I've learned so much watching your videos and saving me money , just because it's expensive and on TV doesn't mean it's fantastic 🤗 I love essential oils but I'll just keep them to my disfuser...I've learned you can have an reaction to anything. and anytime... Less is more.... I've refined my skin rountine. Thank you ♥️ Charlie
My mother in law used Jean Nate daily moisturizer for years. Just before I met her for the first time she had a bad eczema outbreak on her face from that product. That was in 1981 when it was difficult to find fragrance free products. She used petrolatum until the eczema cleared and she could find another product that agreed with her skin.
Hi Dr. Dray. I love these kinds of videos. From watching you for a while now I feel as if I am a much better consumer. I have made all the mistakes buying the botanical enriched products thinking I am using something natural. Can't wait for next week. I really want to know what these ingredients that are commonly found in facial products are and what they actually do.
So helpful and informative. I have learned so much by watching your videos! I am one that has used Rosewater facial spray in the past (mostly because I love the way it smells - haha), and I am no longer doing so. I have really simplified my skincare routine since finding your channel, and I have seen a real difference already (several weeks). You are super smart and I’m so glad to know these things coming from an expert. :)
Hi Dr. Dray. Glad I am follow your videos. You really ,she save and understand about how simple and better a skincare routine must be. Thanks for all your information, enthusiasm and style....😃
Simply fab vid Dr Dray- seriously Oprah, Dr Oz have this gal on your show. This video should go viral. You my dear are a true beauty guru! My husband heard some guys at work bemoaning how much their girlfriends spend on skin care and he told them I'd found this UA-cam derm with good solid advice. I'm sending him the link to video now!
I'm sharing as much of your videos as I can. You have taught me so much. Thank you for having a UA-cam channel. Sorry for commenting a lot on your channel I just really appreciate all the science based information you have. Also, can you please go to Sephora and read the ingredients and explain them? Anyways, have a nice day!!!
Thank YOU Dr. Dray,it is so good to learn all about the labeling of ingredients to entice us to choose their product.Love my fragrance free Cural lotion,I can really feel & see the difference on my hands from using, the lotion is thicker too.👍🙏🌈❤
Very much enjoyed this video! Do you have a video on eye creams for the under eye skin? I was browsing online about puffy eyes oh, and the amount of creams and those eyeball rollers would make your head spin. If you don't have a video, and it be a possible Topic in the future? My skin is so much better because of you and your wonderful advice!
Now I am very confused. I have been using rose water as a toner for over 30 years. No problems so far. I have normal skin. never have break out. Actually my skin is pretty nice.??
I personally didn’t see any benefits of using just rose water on my skin, but I do love the rose water with added glycerin! Great for moisturizing the skin
Sasha K. I think she did one about black soap...don’t remember the details though. Witch hazel is good, as long as it’s without alcohol. I think it has been found to help with enlarged pores. I know I put it on my amazon wishlist, so the Dr. must have recommended it 😎
i discuss all of these in several videos, like my "oils in skin care" and my "cleanser ingredients" video Oils in skin care ua-cam.com/video/CgmffkJNJLYC/v-deo.htmlleanser ingredients ua-cam.com/video/cPDDgAXUQTYH/v-deo.htmlow to choose a cleanser ua-cam.com/video/Xwd2heDYy_A/v-deo.html
I'm curious...While I know you don't wear many make up products, would you be willing to do a video on the ingredients in them? Didn't think but just recently to go over the ingredient labels of the foundation I wear, and sure enough, there's fragrance
My dermatologist and esthetician recommended a product and I love it. The other day I noticed it has “fragrance”. If I am really loving this product and it was recommended should I look over this and continue to use it?? I really love this product!!
Love to see a review on the Muji skincare goods I have seen them in the Muji stores and am interested . I saw they have an sensitive line that I was going to try but was unsure . 😊 thanks . Love your channel BTW!
Dr. Dray I know if the past you have said that spray sun screens aren’t as effective as crean sunscreens are but I would love to hear your thoughts on the new seriouslyFAB zinc it all over facial mist spray SPF 25, is it just a waste of money or worth it for someone who wears makeup? Thanks love your videos
Hi Dr. Dray, is there any new information or products for Rosacea you might recommend other than the products you talked about in your Rosacea video? Thank you for all the great videos you do. Blessings
My recent experience: While having not had a sensitive skin ever recently I changed my sunscreen to Innisfree 50+. While it does have stuff in it and tolerable for my skin the first time I used it with perfume sprayed on top of it I got a horrible rash on my neck. Really terrible and had to treat it for a few days with aloe vera gel to calm it down. Not sure if it was the actual perfume i.e. fragrance or the alcohol that reacted with the zinc/titanium but it really screwed me up. Now I avoid perfume on the neck altogether.
Thank you for this extremely important information.❤️ if you’re in the uk, faith in nature makes fragrance free shampoo and conditioners. I saw them in an organic store near me. It must be Something that recently came out.
i can see the argument that botanical rich skincare can be related to the exploitation of natural resources for our benefit (apart from consumption which is a basic necessity). so i guess there's a reason why the use of synthetic ingredients can help from exploiting such resources from mother nature! although, i'm not sure whether such synthetic ingredients can create byproducts that may disturb nature, i don't think it is unreasonable to suggest that there may be synthetic ingredients that do not compromise natural habitats! (maybe an insight to this can help!) thanks again Dr Dray
Hi Dr Dray, Thank you so much for the information. If you have not already, please consider making a video about taking collagen in the form of powder, etc. Does eating collagen actually help the skin? Thank you in advanced :)
"Don't underestimate mother nature." THANK YOU. So many people are mystified that I am allergic to rose items in skincare/makeup. They think "how can you be allergic to something that is natural?"
:)
My skin is very allergic to mango (part of the poison sumac family) and people always think I’m making it up too.
yes this is a common cross reactor...it is the peel usually, not the fruit often
Like aloe vera, it burns like fire on my face!
Hectic Sophie
Lol..like nuts...or bee stings...or dust(mites)...or pollen...or...animal hair....or....🤪
“Slapping your immune system with roses and lilies when it has more important things to do?’ 😂😂😂😂 you are hilarious! Love you so much!!😘 ...when I am sad my husband says- “go and watch Dr. Dray, you will feel better.” Thanks for this wealth of information 🙏.

This channel has literally changed my life
So glad to hear :)
I came across your videos while searching for a solution to my red cheek with tiny bumps. I’m now binge watching all your videos! Thank you for being so gracious with your knowledge. I’m so grateful.
Thanks you so much! Glad you are hear :)
Thanks for clarifying the term dermatologist tested! It’s like that old phrase in toothpaste commercials - 4 out of 5 dentists recommend etc. Etc. I always thought that sounded bogus!!!
yeah...i mean dentists recommend brushing your teeth...it is kind of a cheap trick on the part of the toothpaste people
I get a sinus headache if I even walk into a Lush store, lol. I appreciate all the wonderful information in this video. As I’ve mentioned, I have a fragrance allergy, and in my mid-50’s it became worse and I had to go fragrance free on rinse off products also. It’s more expensive than the Free and Clear, but Paula’s Choice has a wonderful fragrance free shampoo and conditioner.
maybe vanicream will come out with a glittery bath bomb though? i would host a giveaway of those, lol
Dr Dray Lol!

Dr.Dray I defended my graduate thesis and I would equate the experience akin to being put through a meat grinder-lol. I appreciate you taking the time to clear up false misconceptions regarding labeling of products only to enhance the marketability of the item. Consumer beware.
It is like a meat grinder corroded with rust, lol!
Oh yeah !

Dorota K Like the Skinmedica TNS Essential Serum that’s over $250 that certain UA-camrs recommend because of EGF, Peptides and Antioxidants...🤔😒
$250 bottle of moisturizer, period

Wish more people knew this information!!!

Toilet water 😂😂😂😂😂 I hope I’m not the only one who noticed. I’m laughing so hard
:)
Lol. I saw that and came to comments to see if there were any comments. Dr Dray seeing who is paying attention. 🧐😜
Eau de toilette is toilet water or grooming water or cologne ☺️

I am hearing but find it difficult to watch videos without captions, and the deaf community has just about no idea what you are saying. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this! My question is, why do these products include these ingredients in the first place!? Seems misleading and not ethical marketing :( very sad for people who may suffer from these hidden ingredients that do nothing but mark up prices! You’re the best dr dray!
I know right
Great info Ms. Andrea! You have certainly helped me save $$$ and simplify my skincare! My favorite terminology is "dermatologist tested"🤣🤣
Awesome information as usual. Thanks for all of your knowledge and hard work!
:)
Excellent! Will be sharing with everyone! This is the type of video that needs to be shared and become common knowledge. Thanks again!
:)
I've learned so much watching your videos and saving me money , just because it's expensive and on TV doesn't mean it's fantastic 🤗
I love essential oils but I'll just keep them to my disfuser...I've learned you can have an reaction to anything. and anytime...
Less is more.... I've refined my skin rountine.
Thank you ♥️ Charlie
thanks!
:)
Right?! I see "hypoallergenic" and "sensitive" on the label and then get disappointed when it's fragranced. 😒
Thank you for this video and your advice. I have really cut down on what I am putting on my skin and it’s happier than it has been in a while. ❤️
:)
thanks! glad to hear
Hi Dr. Dray. Glad I am follow your videos. You really ,she save and understand about how simple and better a skincare routine must be. Thanks for all your information, enthusiasm and style....😃
Thanks!
:)
I'm sharing as much of your videos as I can. You have taught me so much. Thank you for having a UA-cam channel. Sorry for commenting a lot on your channel I just really appreciate all the science based information you have. Also, can you please go to Sephora and read the ingredients and explain them? Anyways, have a nice day!!!
sephora does not allow filming, but i have managed to film some in there and videos
you forgot about menthyl lactate found in many nuetragena sunscreens (hydraboost) phenethyl alcohol, also found in ALL nuetragena sunscreens.
Thank you sooooo much Andrea. This is definitely one of your best videos. Really really really loved it. xx
thanks!
Awesome no BS info. ❤️
Thanks! Hope your week is going well :)
Dr Dray yes thanks. I just finished electrocuting my face with a blue LED. KILLING Malassezia. 😂😂
Thank YOU Dr. Dray,it is so good to learn all about the labeling of ingredients to entice us to choose their product.Love my fragrance free Cural lotion,I can really feel & see the difference on my hands from using, the lotion is thicker too.👍🙏🌈❤
thanks! i like curel too :)
How about Dove soap for dry skin? Thanks.
Very much enjoyed this video! Do you have a video on eye creams for the under eye skin? I was browsing online about puffy eyes oh, and the amount of creams and those eyeball rollers would make your head spin. If you don't have a video, and it be a possible Topic in the future? My skin is so much better because of you and your wonderful advice!
do not use eye creams
Thank you for this video. Appreciate the time and energy you put into all your videos to educate us.
Thanks for watching :)
Now I am very confused. I have been using rose water as a toner for over 30 years. No problems so far. I have normal skin. never have break out. Actually my skin is pretty nice.??
no evidence to support its use..i tell you what i know from science, but i don't discredit your personal observation
I personally didn’t see any benefits of using just rose water on my skin, but I do love the rose water with added glycerin! Great for moisturizing the skin
Please do a video about natural skincare such as African black soap, Shea butter, witch hazel, etc
Sasha K. I think she did one about black soap...don’t remember the details though. Witch hazel is good, as long as it’s without alcohol. I think it has been found to help with enlarged pores.
I know I put it on my amazon wishlist, so the Dr. must have recommended it 😎
i discuss all of these in several videos, like my "oils in skin care" and my "cleanser ingredients" video
Oils in skin care ua-cam.com/video/CgmffkJNJLYC/v-deo.htmlleanser ingredients ua-cam.com/video/cPDDgAXUQTYH/v-deo.htmlow to choose a cleanser ua-cam.com/video/Xwd2heDYy_A/v-deo.html
I'm learning so much with you Dr. Dray. Thank you so much for your videos.
Thanks for watching :)
11:55 in video she answers your question
Any thoughts on vegetable glycerin as a moisturizer? Thank you!
Such great info! I particularly love this message!
Thank you so much!
I’m sharing a bunch of your videos on my Facebook and Twitter. Thank you Dr Dray!
Damn, I wish I started watching you before trying all the stuff I did, during quarantine at home 🤦♀️
*Excellent* info, Dr. Dray! Thank you!!
Wowzer! Great info! I don’t know what i would do without you Ms Andrea! Haha 🤙🏻❤️
:)
Can you please elaborate on professional or medical grade skin care vs over the counter products? Are they more effective? Please!!!!!
Dr Dray great job!
:)
Love to see a review on the Muji skincare goods I have seen them in the Muji stores and am interested . I saw they have an sensitive line that I was going to try but was unsure . 😊 thanks . Love your channel BTW!
:)
You always post in time for my lunch break!
:)
Dr. Dray I know if the past you have said that spray sun screens aren’t as effective as crean sunscreens are but I would love to hear your thoughts on the new seriouslyFAB zinc it all over facial mist spray SPF 25, is it just a waste of money or worth it for someone who wears makeup? Thanks love your videos
same thought...spray is spay is not reliable
Hi Dr. Dray, is there any new information or products for Rosacea you might recommend other than the products you talked about in your Rosacea video? Thank you for all the great videos you do. Blessings
no
Hi Dr. Dray. Thank you for this great video. I sure do love keeping it simple and also saving money.
:)
Could you please make your own skin care products line? I will be your loyal customer.
Hi Dr Dray. I love all you informative vlog. I hve one question to ask is it safe for us to use whitening product..?
This was very helpful, thank you Dr. Dray.
Can't wait for the next ingredients video!!!
:)
Thank you Dr. ,that's so nice of you.
i can see the argument that botanical rich skincare can be related to the exploitation of natural resources for our benefit (apart from consumption which is a basic necessity). so i guess there's a reason why the use of synthetic ingredients can help from exploiting such resources from mother nature! although, i'm not sure whether such synthetic ingredients can create byproducts that may disturb nature, i don't think it is unreasonable to suggest that there may be synthetic ingredients that do not compromise natural habitats! (maybe an insight to this can help!) thanks again Dr Dray
all the more reason to minimize the number of things you put on your face
Hi Dr Dray, Thank you so much for the information. If you have not already, please consider making a video about taking collagen in the form of powder, etc. Does eating collagen actually help the skin? Thank you in advanced :)
it does not
OMG, Thank you :*
