I stopped using makeup about a year ago and switched to expensive skin care (Chanel, La Mer, Cle De Peau etc) While all those products worked, I decided to go after products that you feel very passionate about. Not only did I save 1000$ a month, my skin has improved drastically! So thank you!! 💕💕

My mom (who isn’t a doctor or certified in anything - just a housewife) taught me in the early 90s to stay away from fragrance. She had a GREAT dermatologist that gave fantastic advice. She also started her on RentinA long before the masses (general public) knew how wonderful it was. So, my mom taught me to use a retinol starting when I was 18 & to switch to prescription strength by 28. I cannot stress enough how important good skincare has been in my life. I am now 36 & drive my 16yr old nuts by trying to get him to use only reputable skincare products.

I have seen so much improvement in my rosacea by just using the Cerave hydrating cleanser and an inexpensive sulfur soap followed by Cerave pm face lotion at night and the hydrating cleanser again in the morning. I used to be a product queen and I feel like I spent so much money only to ruin my skin. Now the simpler my routine the better my skin looks and feels. My favorite sunscreen is the Differin Oil Control moisturizer with spf 30. I bought it for my teenaged son who uses Differin for acne and I grabbed it one morning when I ran out of mine. It’s really good. I wouldn't have bought it for myself because I didn’t think I needed oil control, but it wears really nicely and it has never caused a rosacea flare.

Yesss!! I know I've always struggled to find the logic to be honest. You put something onto your skin, it sits on the skin and then you take it off yet people claim it'll drag stuff out your pores? It just doesn't seem to make sense. I wonder if people are just going product mad because the stuff is available. I know I'm starting to go the other way - a massive cleanse meaning I barely use anything and I have to say... my skin is starting to look better when I just leave it to do it's thing!

From my own experience, the most beneficial face mask I've tried is an egg yolk mask. I have oily/acne prone skin and this helped clear my skin and made it feel and look more healthy. If you want to try it - crack a raw egg in half, pour it back & forth into each half of egg to rid the whites. Apply egg yolk, let it dry, rinse off then wash your face with your face wash. I love it. Keep the left over yolk in the fridge and re-use for a few days.

Where I live in southwestern Ontario, we do not seem to have the Equate version of Cerave (or most of the other brands, to be honest). Also, on our WalMart labels it does not say which brand their product is comparable to like it does in the States. The most obvious knock offs I've seen at my local WalMart are for Aveeno, St. Ives and Vaseline. It could be that I just have a particularly barren WalMart store in my town, though. Side story: I could not find the actual Cerave or Eucerin lotions at my store last weekend and then I tried looking again last night and they were in the same aisle as the adult diapers rather than with the other body lotions, for some reason. I don't know what's up with that.
