  • It’s been a year and a half since I bought my Integra, and I began using it as a daily shortly after. It’s got its ups and downs, but like any other Honda I’ve ever owned, it’s reliable and keeps going. Check out my earlier video on this if you want to see more.

    Always glad to see DA content! Been getting compliments and stares (good ones i think) when i roll around in mine or even at the last carmeet i went too. People i think are becoming very nostalgic for this car, much like the 300ZX and other late 80s/early 90s Japanese Imports. Shoot i've even been getting people offer to buy my car in the middle of traffic. Anyways keep up the vids man! The DA is looking solid!

      Haha I think they're good stares bro. And like you, most offers to buy it are at 30mph on local roads for some reason. I don't see many good stock examples but a 300ZX spins my head around quick when I see one. I absolutely love that car and would love to find one in my price range that isn't slammed to the ground with body panels flopping off of it. Always happy to hear from a fellow DA owner, thanks for watching and glad you liked the vid. Thanks buddy.

      Your approval means a lot when I post an Acura video bro! Luckily the brakes are extremely tiny which means the cost to repair it is as well. Only bad thing is I need to park it until I have time to do the work, but I can tell it still has a good 20k left in it before the next problem.

    I vividly remember going with my father to buy a new Integra in 1988. It was light metallic blue with a manual transmission. My mother had a sedan Integra in I think 1990. My brothers first car was a 1992 Integra coupe. My first car was a 1993 Integra coupe, until I moved on to a 1995 (the next gen) Integra 😂

      I agree 100%, but it all depends on the problems you face. A simple o2 sensor replacement on the Legend took me more hours than I care to admit. Truth is if you get a car that's known to be reliable, or at least easy to fix, and you get one that's been treated well, the experience is almost always a good one. Just need to do your research first. Keep looking for an 03 Mustang GT, they're out there, but it might be more of a project than what you're looking for based on my quick searched. Technological improvements like sound deadening and suspension make an older car feel like it is absolutely going to fall apart on the highway compared to a newer car. There is no mechanical reason that the car should not be able to keep up with an 80 mph traffic flow. When you drive it 80 mph. It feels like you are going 120 mph because of sound within the cabin and vibration. These are fixable issues. You can put your foot into it.

    I'm currently pulling the motor on mine, it's a bit of a journey. Like yours it's been repainted so it's got quite a bit of shine for such an old car. And the people who owned it before me were hacks so I'm fixing alot of their mistakes along the way

    • @Altek1
      @Altek1  4 роки тому +1

      Not gonna lie, kinda want the engine to go so I have an excuse to put something else in. Another 30hp would do the car a lot of justice. Amazing what a splash of color can do for an old car, I even look back at it after I park it. Luckily I'm the 3rd owner but the previous owner changed the headlights and I have some weird issues because of the jdm lights. Cruise doesn't work and I think it's because he stole some wiring for them to work, and my high beams are always on so I feel like a big a-hole at night.

    Damn you even got the armrest! My DA and most others don't have any :'(, also if you really do daily it that often, I'd suggest heading over to NaytonTech, they have a cupholder that replaces the compartment under the radio, and it works perfectly for me.

    • @Altek1
      @Altek1  4 роки тому +2

      Ha, the previous owner put that in and i didn't know how useful it was until i took it out to fix the ebrake (which i then realized i didn't need to do that to get to it). One 10 minute drive and i pulled over to throw it back in. It's amazing how much it makes the drive comfortable. Thanks for the cup holder suggestion. I've purposely avoided that one because i figured it would just cover the screen of my head unit. I know it blocks the buttons on my fathers 95 Integra, and it's surprisingly annoying. Just did the front brakes and calipers also, besides some rotor noise i have to address, this baby is running like a champ! Thanks for watching!

    I picked up a 92 Integra RS 5spd that's pretty clean with some rust in similar spots, same color, same color wheels. It was LS/VTEC converted with some other add ons. Exhaust on it is a little janky but I plan on fixing or replacing it. My gripe is the dashboard rattle on it. It's really there until higher RPMs and it only has 137k miles. It's an interesting car and I like it.

    • @Altek1
      @Altek1  3 роки тому

      If it's mechanically sound, you have a good base to start with there. Is that a gsr motor then? All my car needs is another 10-15hp and it sounds like you got that. I had a similar exhaust issue, besides it being embarrassing, it would hit all over the bottom of the car. Sending some wild sounds through cabin, I couldn't take it. I also have a crazy rattle on my dash at idle but I thought my idle was off a hundred or so rpms. The second I'm on the throttle, it stops. If you get solid suspension, you'll love it, but maybe not above 60mph.
