Qui sommes nous ... ?
SEATTLE (Grunge Cover Band) est, comme son nom l’indique, un groupe de reprises spécialisé dans la scène de Seattle du début des années 90, que beaucoup connaissent sous le nom de musique “Grunge”.
Pour le grand public, le fer de lance de ce mouvement (le Grunge) fut Nirvana, groupe que même les “non-rockers” connaissent et reconnaissent et dont les hits ont tourné en boucle sur tous les Mass Media pendant de longues années (merci MTV). Cependant, de nombreuses autres formations musicales, également estampillées “grunges” ont participé à l’éclosion du genre... comme par exemple Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam, ou encore Soundgarden et ont apporté une nouvelle couleur à un Rock qui selon certains (à l’époque) avait tendance à s’essouffler.
C’est cette atmosphère, ce son, cette ambiance si particulière que Seattle cherche à faire renaître en jouant ces morceaux qui ont marqué de leur empreinte toute une génération.
C’est donc sans fioriture, sans trop se prendre au sérieux, mais avec beaucoup d’Amour et de respect pour le genre que nous souhaitons mener à bien cette aventure. En espérant partager de grands moments avec un public qui, nous en sommes certains, sera heureux de revivre une infime partie de son adolescence et de “headbanger” sur les tubes d’une époque certes révolue, mais tellement d’actualité.

"Them Bones" is a song by the American rock band Alice in Chains. It is the opening track and the second single from their second album, Dirt (1992). The song was also included on the compilation albums Nothing Safe: Best of the Box (1999), Music Bank (1999), Greatest Hits (2001), The Essential Alice in Chains (2006). A live performance of the song is included on their live album entitled Live (2000).
"Them Bones" was released as a single in 1992 and peaked at number 24 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and at number 30 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart. The UK single was released in March 1993. "Them Bones" reached the top 30 in the UK and Ireland.

Jouer à Marseille ou sa région serait un vrai plaisir, mais pour l’instant nous n’en avons pas encore eu l’occasion. SI tu connais des salles qui pourraient être intéressées par la musique que nous jouons, je suis chaud pour les contacter et voir si c’est possible. Là, on va jouer à Salers dans le Cantal en mai pour un Festival « Grunge Fest », mais je suis certain que ce genre d’évènement peut exister un peu partout. On demande que ça de sortir de l’Ile de France pour aller partager notre amour pour cette musique qu’on aime tant… et on sait que le public existe… on le voit à chaque concert. On reste en contact. Don’t worry, we never thought that you were insulting us. My answer had for only goal to explain why singing in English is not so easy for us and why sometimes we F@%*$ up the lyrics.
To be honest, we did not expect this cover to be watched by more than 6000 people. I mean, most of our videos are watched by something between 200 and 1000 people. 6000 is a lot for us. It also means that for once it is not only seen by French people. And the difference between an international audience and a local audience is that in France nobody really cares about the lyrics… but English native speakers do! So we have to be very careful on this point for the future.
I don’t know if we are talented, but we work hard to pay respect to this music we love so much.

@@SeattleGrungeCoverBand You are all very talented though, and after I read your reply, I went straight to your channel to watch your other videos and I have to say that the "Rooster" cover for example is very, very good (and I say this as a hardcore Alice in Chains fan)! You all have talent, it's true! And you have reached the Balkans! :D I really thought about it afterwards and we often forget that even online, people with feelings read these comments and for that I'm sorry for not being more considerate! Anyways, I'm subscribing right now and I'm excited to see your progress as a fellow grunge lover! :)

oh yes ! You're totaly right. Our goal is not to replace Layne, but to pay tribute to his amazing talent. We want people to remember how good the music of this time was and for the youngers to discover it. We try to do our best ... but we don't forget that we are just a coverband... nothing else than a non-professionnal coverband from France. So, thank you for your comment ... we need inducements to keep the faith. ;)
