I think the vocals would sit better in the mix if they were turned down a dB, maybe 1.5 dB, and given a hint of analog delay (probably quarted note or eighth note) with a fast stereo offset. Otherwise, everything sounds killer, nice cover guys!

Best AiC song and you guys nailed it
I really like where you were going with the vocals, rhythm guitar and drums are killing it -- sounds really decent compared to the original, at moments I liked your rhythm and delivery overall even better. Can't hear whether there is flanger on bass though :D The The solo was kind of outside that original groove at times, I'd say, relatively (!!) the weakest part of this already great mix (though that tapping part was really something that had to be in the original :D)! It's not that your cover feels changed too much, it's that the expectation of being identic/similar to the original is built up, but your artistic vision is going somewhere else and then the song does as well. It's a very tough balance to master, so noone will be honest to blame it on you not trying hard enough, I really liked what you've done already. Don't get me wrong, it's a splendid cover, though if you work on expressing despair and ...'braggery of being fearless, conscious of one's mortality' while playing it live, it shall absolutely rock, even trumping the AiC version for a lot of people including me. I'd also prefer just a bit less of swagger/theatrics which might feel significantly more honest to me personally; IMHO, in order to relay this emotion you either have to be a half-dead wicked badass or be good at acting like one, the frontman looks like a badass with a great voice but most of the time looking totally healthy and happy with this life, which makes for the dissonance in the vibe but not the music or vocals in particular, they're just fine!! Keep it up! :-)

People claim no one can cover AiC. You guys are proof positive that isn't true, and I say that as a member of the "Alice in Chains is my favorite band" club (and Layne is my favorite vocalist).
I really appreciate the fact that instead of a carbon-copy cover, you made this song your own. Your vocalist is *excellent*.

This song basically lives and dies on the talent and tone of the vocalist, but the entire band needs to be completely solid, and you very much are. It takes a great deal of courage to take on AiC, especially because Layne is such a legend, and y'all deserve a ton of respect.
My compliments to your guitarist, drummer, and your beast of a bassist.
I know it can be hard when it feels like no one's listening. Please keep going. You guys are great.
As a possibly annoying self-centered aside, I'm really jealous of the fact that you're guys.
Being female and trying to get into these genres is so, so hard, even if your voice is suited for it (metal, grunge, and blues are my home genres). I was brought into a metal band in 2018 to sing higher parts, even though I have the general range and quality of a low tenor. I was barred from performing "Man in the Box" until the last minute because it was a "guy song", and only allowed to because nobody else could hit the Bb4. Even if you can thunder, screech, crack off "Welcome to the Jungle", "Sex Type Thing", "Nutshell", "Them Bones", "Ace of Spades", and a Nirvana-style "Where Did You Sleep Last Night" in quick succession" and are more at home in the 3rd + 4th octaves than the fifth, you just... "don't belong."

Hmmm…. Not bad. Nice to see one of my favorite bands getting covered. Just a bit of criticism…either cover the song like they wrote it or change it to make it your own. Changing the vocal octave and changing up the solo is kinda weak.. even the tempo dragged ever so slightly. I listened to the original and this at the exact same time. It started so great that it was epic like true stereo surround. But by the 2nd verse this version started to lag. And I only did the side by side after listening once and bc I bought this album on its release date and this song set the stage, September of 92. I’ve been listening to this album for 29 yrs.
So… did I like it? Yes
Did I pick up on subtle differences? Yes
Do I think you could improve this cover? Yes
Be true to the song or be true to yourselves…. There is absolutely nothing wrong with changing a song up to fit who you are.. ever great band for the most part did covers but they made their own. Good luck guys… keep up the good work 👍
