They deserve a place in Rock'n'roll hall of fame. One of the best bands i've ever heard.
Yeah, if this isn't the best "rock" music, what the hell is?
Wait you mean they’re not already in the RRHOF???
Looking at the nominees last year this shitty "hole" of fame does not deserve this gem!

It's shocking that they're not already in the RRHOF! We the fans need to get them in!!
if you're wondering why this song drives so hard its the 7/8 time signature. always getting ahead itself. this band is unmatched
Wish I could like this more than once 🍻
The verse is 7. The chorus is straight 4. The flipping back n forth is another major driver to the song’s awesomeness.

They had more attitude than swag imo and that is what music nowadays music lacks, its all jus mumble crap or over commercialised over saturated repetitive crap. We need attitude and meaning back into music not jus sex, money, drugs or violence
When I first saw this video in MTV at age 19 I was frightened/scared by the video. I said to my self "what the heck is this?" Then when the song ended I converted to being an Alice in Chains fan for life and never looked back. And what great sense of style Layne had. His hair, his clothes, he was just a beautiful man.
Hi I recommend an indie song & Video called 'Looking Into The Mirror' by Robert Nix
Yes, very beautiful indeed.
What's great about Alice In Chains is that they transcend both metal and grunge. Not many bands can do what they did.

Less is more sometimes.
What I really like about AIC is the vocal harmonics between Jerry and Layne that adds nuance even in a head-banging song like this.
Yep. It's not metal or grunge, just pure art.
Layne was absolutely the best 'grunge' vocalist - Jerry was probably close behind Chris Cornell, Mark Flanagan etc ( as a vocalist )AIC was stacked with talent. Most people don't hear or recognize how good Jerry's vocals are, because Layne was such a presence.
@@joelfortenberry7865It’s Mark Lanegan. I liked Degradation Trip and Boggy Depot. Jerry has an amazing voice
@@joelfortenberry7865Comparing Mark Lanegan to Chris Cornell is mind boggling. Chris had an unstable voice live, but in the studio he was unmatched. Mark Lanegan is a charismatic frontman, he has amazing music, but he's a worse vocalist than Cobain.

He had one of the best vocals in the business. Being born in 1989 I grew up listening to grunge, grunge and metal. Every time I hear Alice in Chain or Stone Temple Pilot (R.I.P Scott Weiland) songs, to name a few bands, this swell of deep nostalgia flow in me. The music of today cannot top this. Never. The emotion that comes from grunge is forever deep and too real. R.I.P Layne Staley

Bloopers only came out last year that's why 😂😂
@@vickidavies4612 I don't know how they only came out last year considering the music video dates back to 2008 and the song itself was released in 1992. They've had the footage for decades at least.

This song got me into not just Alice in Chains but heavy metal in general. I was about 12 years old playing GTA San Andreas and would always have the station on "Radio X" I liked a lot of the songs on it, but when this one played it was different, I was hooked. I loved the song and needed to know who the band was. The GTA manual had a list of band and song names but I didn't know which songs were which as I had no knowledge of any bands back then and I didn't have internet to look them up, I also had no idea what Layne was saying in the song and "Them Bones" had never entered my brain as part of the lyrics. Then about a month later I had bought the Street Fighter 15th Anniversary game which came with SF2 the animated movie. I watched the movie and during some part in the movie I hear this song playing and my child brain is going "Oh my God, that's it! That's the song!!" And so, I fast forwarded to the credits and had to pause the movie there while looking at each song in the movie credits and GTA manual to find which one matched up. Once I found out that it was Them Bones by Alice in Chains I immediately went to the store once I had some money and looked for whatever Alice in Chains CDs I could find. Luckily for me the store carried the Greatest Hits which only had 10 songs, but it had Them Bones which is all I cared about as a kid, but man, hearing those other 9 songs at once was like entering a new world for me. After that I started buying their albums and looking for other metal bands.
I'm a 59 year old female, and AIC is my all time favorite band! Way beyond what their peers then and now! RIP LAYNE AND MIKE!
Theresa Harris you ROCK girl!
I am 87. Still kicking. This song reminds me of the night i chugged two 40oz.
I'm 36 and right there with you, sister!
The jump from Facelift to Dirt is such a drastic change... youre talking about an album that emerged as an instant rock hit that could be played at bars to a complete nosedive into the pits of hell. I fucking love Dirt.
The lyrics and images in this smusic video reflect your life.
Rip Layne. You are sorely missed!! You were amazing!!!! I love your music! Def rock n roll hall of fame! Maybe the greatest composers of all time. Originality, soul wrenching, loud, soft, touching heart ripping music! Just on another level. God knows I, and we all miss you!
The feelings this solo gives summarized in moments:
1:17 damn this solo is *crunchy*
1:22 ok this solo is simply great
1:26 oh my god, that sounds so good
1:37 HOLY SHIT THIS SOLO!!!
The amount of feelings this solo conveyed to me in just 30 seconds
amount the brains damaged into process understaind it is priceless
Love it lol
@@GnabhanJr Riddle me this Batman
quite simply one of the hardest solos of the grunge rock era
It is one of the best solos ever.
Still knocks spots off the mainstream shit of today. FACT.
You know whats up, ain't nobody touching this!
yeah.
Could not agree more. Where are the young punks, goths today except in parody. What a voice. Where is youthfull rebellion or does it have to trumped? Great albums. The downside Layne has disappeared.
Lexington Deville84 Damn straight it would.
fuvk yah
Heard this song for the first time ever on ATV Off-Road Fury back in the early 2000s and its been my favorite Alice in Chains song since
THE BEST SONG who agrees with me
i grew up as a Nirvana fan but as i mature i think AIC is way better.
still love both bands though.
Nirvana > all other grunge band.. w/o Nirvana... AIC and other will not be populaar
Narathip Boonjit I love them both!!
A 2 A not true at all, Alice was already out touring Facelift in 1990 and already put out their first big single Man in the Box, Nirvana didn’t blow up until they released smells like teen spirit in September of 91.
@@danim5881 good shit. Was gana have to tell that dude but u already did haha
I think I love every grunge band equally
a badass song from a badass album in a badass video by a badass band. badassness scale was fuckin broken. insane.
ahahaha damn great :P
I regret not seeing Alice in chains in concert more than any other band
“Some say we’re born into the grave” …. Just let that sink in for a min
Those Layne + Jerry harmonies are unmistakable
Can we acknowledge this is one of the best riffs of all time? Simple, but it just drives and drives.
One of the coolest videos ever or what?
Best band of the 90s
Let's all pray we can have music like this again
Which music like this has never left really if you think about it
I guess not but a new band would be cool
No. Nothing will come close. The potential for this type of musical talent is non-existent. At least we will have this.
Hoping for something like AIC, but female lead singer. I want to be able to sing like layne, but my voice could never get even close to that range. Female lead? Possibly!!
@@nenzlin umm no. Go listen to evanescence
