When my brother died of leukemic cancer, he was wearing his headphones with his eyes closed and a smile on his face, this song was ringing on his phone. Whenever it sounds or I listen to it again, it reminds me of that scene and I wonder "If everything could ever be this real forever If anything could ever be this good again". Miss you Chris You have no idea how much i miss you
I’m so very sorry. I lost one of my older sisters back in 2004, it almost broke my entire family. I promise you, regardless of beliefs;you will see him again and he is around you. How do I know this? As a former Catholic, then Agnostic followed by dying /coding about 3 times so far because of a seizure disorder (Hospital ER has brought me back) I’ve gotten my answer that THERE IS MORE THAN THIS WORLD. I was on life support after my last episode yet I’m not afraid of dying because I KNOW there is more. ✌️ ❤️
First concert I ever went to at Bamboozle in 2012, Ill never forget Dave saying "you don't need all these fancy lights and equipment, you can do this too, anyone can do this'' changed my life forever
They came out and meant everything. The sound, the loudness, Rock and Roll was back. I’m having a tough time with the news of Taylor’s passing. I thought I’d come back to the video where I first saw him. Man, he was a beast, he could really play. And he looked good in a nightgown. 🙂. Prayers for all affected tonight. RIP TAYLOR HAWKINS.
struggled all day with the news saw them live in Sunderland amazing best band i ve seen live by far just so sad was only 50 ,it's no age believe for sure this is the last we see the Foos again 😢😢
My uncle died from a drinking problem. He listened to this song almost all the time, one day I saw him cleaning his nails and Everlong was there. Damn, I just wish he could hear it again. At his funeral, I had headphones on listening to this while I was in pieces. Thank you, Uncle M. I will never forget your teachings to me and my cousins. Today I am a man thanks to you. Thank you.
Just read the news about Taylor Hawkins passing away… love to watch this again because him bursting out of the bed /drum kit was such a memorable part of this video. Rest well and much love to Dave and the Foo’s.
@@cptchuff2741 I feel you on that, they were all from that generation that we grew up on, though I’m surprised to see Taylor amongst them given that he’s the only non-front man… Seems like the odd one out as he always seems so happy, but I guess it’s early to speculate on what happened to him.
This is one of Foo Fighters most popular songs. Herd it on the radio a lot and I ❤it. So much so that I've got whole Playlist of the Foo Fighters music through the years. 😊
My son told me the other day that he "found this new really cool song." I thought I heard this a very long ago when I was his age. He's 16 now and we don't always see eye to eye anymore. But this song made us the same age, for that moment. We both understood this song is new. And will never get old.
Such a classic tune. “If everything could ever feel this real forever…if anything could ever be this good again” just hits right in the perfect spot. I learned the foo fighters when I was young, loved them, grew up and found new music. I still can come back to their songs like this and marvel at how good they are.
This is one of the greatest song to Video realizations and just amazing what they did to this heavy guitar streamcasting of a concept rich, thematically narratively rich track, it's not abstract but the base riffs so along the path matter of fact that adds to everything. So sorry about the loss of Taylor Hawkins truly tragic my condolences to the band and friends and family of Taylor. May he rest in power paradise and proper proper joy.
I was 14 years old the first time I listened to this song. At first I never paid too much attention to the lyrics and their meaning. Two months ago I met a girl and we started to forge a very nice bond. I'm not afraid to admit that I started to have feelings for her. Today she told me that she will leave the town next week to finish her studies, and that she will probably not return until next year. I'm happy for her, but I can't help being a little sad. And that was the moment I remembered this song, specifically "If everything could ever feel this real forever, if everything could ever be this good again". 11 years later, I'm finally able to give a deeper and more personal meaning to this song. And this is the story about why I'm here tonight. If you took the time to read this, thank you, it's late at night and right now this is the only way I can vent.
Francisco Alfaro Ferreyra Mr.Ferrryra we are sorry. 😢 Your young you will have a few losses & a few wins in this game of love ,try not to become to damaged like us & stop looking or stop caring about it we would love to extend you a shoulder but not possible . But you are welcome to vent here to us Anytime you need !!! thank you for sharing.
I can relate. I'm only 16 now, and my father played this song all the time when I was too young to understand it. I started to have feelings for a girl in my class last year. I only really started talking to her in the last marking period. I went to her birthday last month, and got her a pearl necklace. I didn't even wait around to see her open it. Now a new school year is starting, but I don't have any of the same classes as her. I probably won't ever see her again. Here I am now making a mix tape I probably won't send her, and sharing sob stories with strangers on the internet after midnight.
Thats a very besutiful also sad story💓 Thank you 4sharing. I hope you do get to see her again.Never stop showing your emotions 4others..its nice.Take care
This song have been with me for over 20 years and it will be until they day I die... Its just a master piece and it's part of the soundtrack of my life...
I think I've heard this song maybe 5 million times and it still always still moves me. Right from the first chords it takes you on a journey. A rollercoaster. A short musical adventure. One of the greatest songs of the 90s. Period. RIP Taylor and God bless your family and the Foos
5m times? Lets say the vid is 258 secs long Multiply it by the said amount of times u heard 5m 5,000,000 x 258 =1,290,000,000 secs Or 21,500,000 minutes Or 358,333 hours Or 14,930 days Or 41 years Lets say u listen to it for 8 hours a day that makes u 122 years old.
Random facts about Everlong! # The song was written at the low point of Grohl's career. He was recently divorced and two bandmates thinking about to leaving. (Drummer William Goldsmith and guitarist Pat Smear) Dave was in a sleeping bag on a friend's couch when he started writing it. # In an interview, Grohl said the song is about "That song's about a girl that I'd fallen in love with and it was basically about being connected to someone so much, that not only do you love them physically and spiritually, but when you sing along with them you harmonise perfectly." # The song is about about the start of his relationship with ex-wife, Jennifer Youngblood. The song Walking After You is to reflect his feelings after the divorce. # Towards the end of the song, there is a instrumental drop and Grohl whispers as the song builds back up. The lyrics here have not been fully deciphered yet but its three different vocal tracks played simultaneously through the right, center and left speakers. One is love letter, the second is a studio technical manual and the last is a studio technician's story about his Dad forcing him hold boots. # When Grohl first wrote the guitar rift, he thought it was a rip off Sonic Youth song. # Everlong, (and the Foo Fighters) is David Letterman's favourite song. When he came back to the Late Night Show from heart surgery, Letterman requested the Foos to play Everlong at his opening. He also asked them to play for his retirement from the show. Dave was honoured. # The concept for the video was to be a parody of Sam Rami's Evil Dead. Resembling a couple going to a cabin in the woods, being atracked at night and the hero loosing control of their hand. # Director of the music video, Michel Gondry, has directed music videos for Björk, Daft Punk, Kanye West, Radiohead and many more. He then went on to direct films Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Be Kind Rewind and The Green Hornet. # Grohl played an acoustic version of the song at a school for children with disabilities to get a standing ovation. He later commented that it was the closest he'd even been to crying on stage. # In Friends, an orchestral version of Everlong was played after Chandler and Monica's wedding vows. # The prelude and epilogue of the music video Learn to Fly is a goofy electronica version of Everlong. The scenes include Jack Black and Kyle Gass, which Grohl would later go to drum for in Tenacious D. The song was covered by The Moog Cookbook who previously covered Big Me for the music video Monkey Wrench. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed learning random facts!
Oh man, when I'm in this mood, Radiohead comes next, then Mazzy Star, an hour later I'm drunk as hell, wiping my snot and howling something to Bob Dylan songs.... ukrainan 35 y.o kid
I believe I recently saw the lead singer from the Foo Fighters on public transit around the area where I live and I wrote something to him on the back of one of my "girlie girl" drawings and gave it to him!! It was very private😮, and not for everyone to know about 😢. I did not ask if I could bare child for him, as I am Toolong past those years....😅....I did, however, express to him that Everlong is one of the most beautiful songs ever written. To me it reminds me of a guy I loved so much, and though our time together was short, my love for him is forever. Thank you for such an amazing song!😊
This song always hit before, but now... now it hits different and it hits *hard*. I've been listening to this song on repeat all day... I don't really know how to put feelings to words right now but damn Taylor, I'm gonna miss you so freaking much... All us Foos fans are... But no matter where you are now, you will always be the pounding, thumping, beating heart of the Foos to us, I can promise you this. I will always remember you as a beaming, goofy, fun-loving, powerhouse of a drummer who was also a kind, gentle, loving and caring family man... RIP Taylor.
Listening now, bawling...a song of such joy, the depth, but the clip funny, beautiful, endearing but without taylor now waliking this Earth...life is fleeting, grab every opportunity and be happy with those you love friends, family, animals, plants, good people, and thankful for all those experiences, memories and situations for growth of being a better person. Thank you Foo Fighters for your contribution to our wonderful world.❤
Wait until you are 62 and a favorite song comes on from 50 years ago. The memories come flooding back over the decades in a blink. Have some tissues handy.....
I always loved how Foo Fighters would pair their songs with all these goofy videos. They were never serious about videos, but they were always completely invested in the songs.
Real music transcends generations.. BTW, I'm 56 and I've known of the song forever but just recently decided to learn it. It's super fun to play on guitar.
Taylor busting out of his nightgown and bed to reveal his drum kit always cracked me up. If any man can be in Dave's band and play drums, that man earned Dave's respect and so he deserves YOUR respect. RIP Taylor Hawkins ❤️
Omg yes..Was always hilarious to me to see him dressed up.. lol but that jumping out of the bed scene was always my fave. He was a beast on the drums. His playing always reminded me of the rapid fire of a machine gun.. especially that part of the song. He will definitely be missed. 🤍🕊🕊✨✨
+Siguure OwO I would be pleased for Dave, since he was able to go on and become successful afterwards. He didn't let it be the end all, be all of his music career.
+Siguure OwO That's weird though, cause I love both bands it was only about two years ago I knew Dave was part of both, so I wouldn't think he being a part of Nirvana had anything to do with it, well not as much at least.
This video used to come on MTV2 the same time every morning while I was getting up for highschool. It is one of the most nostalgiac songs for me and I love it
i did the same thing in elementary and middle school. during one of those two, I remember waking up early every morning just so I could hear mr brightside
May your neighbor rest in peace. Life is not eternal, nor is it ever easy- but we can make the most of it. Those around us, and within ourselves to be the best example of what it truly means to be human. To put a positive effect on others hearts as they have done on yours. Enjoy the little moments in life, cause you’ll never know when it’ll end. ❤🖤
This was my dad's favorite song, he would sing and play it for me on the guitar. Soon after he even taught me how to play it, but then he passed away 3 days after my birthday this year, he will forever be playing this song for me.
I just woke up to someone blasting this song outside at 3 in the morning. I'm not really happy that I got woken up this early, but at least they have good taste in music.
Still remember those many years ago. I was nine, having this Music Class at school, fourth grade. And my teacher, Steven, was the best. The dude from time to time would show us some videoclips. And this was one of them. More than that: we would PLAY this song on the flute. I miss those days. I would eventually have no more classes with him anymore as the years went by. But I’m glad he’s still there. It’s been 10 years ans I’m still here for this song Thanks, Teacher Steven. You were one of the best teachers I’ve ever had
My daughter lives far away. It's a 4ish hour drive each way when I go get her. We got home late one day from a pickup. She knows I'm a lifelong guitar player/drummer that came up in the 90s. The instant we walked into the house she says, "can we go downstairs in the music room, and can you play me my favorite song everlong?" It was 130AM and I was exhausted but I instantly said "absolutely" and played it twice on my favorite Tele. Love you Lulu
RIP Taylor Hawkins. Crushing, devastating news. There will be no one like you. Terrible loss for Foo Fighters, Rock n Roll, all the fans and above all his family. Thank you for all these incredible drum fills, rhythm and energy you gave us over the years.
@@dannie2712 Thanks Dannie! Of course it was Dave, as Taylor joined after the album was recorded, but I posted this as Taylor's live versions of Everlong were always the finishing highlight of any Foo Fighters concert... and also that transition from bed to drums in the video is hilarious!
This song is before my time, I acknowledge that. All of you guys are a lot braver then me, I’ve spent my whole life not even knowing what a foo is, and you’ve fought them every day. Thank you for your service
Foo fighters are unexplained lights that WWII pilots saw flying near their planes or over cities. They're UFOs, but such a delightfully specific kind of UFO.
This is a song, for me, that resonates within because of the drums. There is only one other song in my life, other than this track, that has made me fall in love with the drums. This song and "When the Levee Breaks" by Led Zeppelin get me every.single.time. RIP Taylor Hawkins...you were one of the greats 😍
"Breathe out, so I can breathe you in. Hold you in..." - reminds me of smoking the dank back in the day. One of the best tunes of the 90s hands down, and there were a lot of good tunes in that decade...
Dad died today. 1:20 am. A five day battle with brain cancer. I played this song for hours on a $49 dollar acoustic guitar beside his death bed. He couldn't talk but I know he could hear. It was the last song he ever heard, and it was an honor to play it for you. I'll miss you forever dad. Edit: Your comments saved my life. Thank you. ;
this was our wedding song. Every time I see this video i think about how much love there is between my husband and I, I wonder off like a teenager and get butterflies in my stomach. I always feel protected with him. He is my hero.
This is so nostalgic. When I was a kid I used to always sit in the back of the car and my dad would play foo fighters. This was my all time fave. I had no idea what they were saying, I didn’t speak English so I was just babbling. But we were always having the best time jamming driving home from school
The Foo Fighters are awesome Also I know this is completely off-topic, but what does English sound like to non-English speakers? (I’m a native English speaker, I wouldn’t know, and I’m curious)
@@firestorm-1154 There's a video here on UA-cam from some time ago now, it's called 'How English sounds to non-English speakers' by a channel Brian & Karl, pretty interesting if you wanna check it out bud

My fiancee passed away 6 years ago on this day... This was her favourite song and it always reminds me of the best times I had in my life because of her and what could have been.. RIP Lilo 💔
I remember hearing this song for the first time. I was 12 and I was in my friends living room. Her mom put it on the tv and as soon as it started, it felt absolutely surreal. I had never felt so much emotion hearing a song for the first time. It was like the room was caving in on me. Beautiful experience tbh.
On the contrary. Good music still exists, we just heard a perfect living example of that. The music of the Beatles, Bach and Nirvana and many others will never go away nor be destroyed by the "industry". My word of advice: Don´t ruin your life listening to today´s bullshit. Instead, listen to bands like FF. Everything is handmade with no autotune bullshit. That is craftsmanship.
i'm no music doctor but this song has a perfect melancholic chord progression and melody and singing. Perfect in that our brains recognize that each next note is expected so we get major dopamine release, or is it serotonin?
The Foo Fighters were one of the plenty of bands I listened when growing up, even to this day I listen to their music. It really hit worse than a ton of bricks hearing about Taylor Hawkins passing away I'm just in a loss of words... 💔 RIP Taylor, you'll be rocking in heaven.
Grew up on the Foo Fighters. The recent news is devastating. My little brother was named after Taylor Hawkins. Can't believe Dave has to go through this again, my thoughts are with him, the band and Taylor's friends & family. Rest in peace and power king.
Agree broo, i listened to this song when i'm pumped up, this song help me through my worst break up, help me through my final test, when i'm driving, a lullaby before i sleep, hell... i guess this song might be played in my funeral as well
Matthew Couplan I love the acoustic version. I think it’s a fantastic version of this song, and Dave does it like no one else ever does. To this day, I’ve never heard a cover of Everlong (acoustic or full band) that even came close to sounding as badass as the original.
I was hanging out with this girl and her friend on top of my garage one night. And she out of the blue snuggled up to me when this song was playing, we held hands and now this song just encapsulates the feeling I got that night.
You hit the nail right on the head peep...we had so much in front of us,good and bad at that point. The world trade center attacks, two twenty year wars,India and Pakistan coming to the verge of nuclear war ,Katrina and a series of hurricane and weather related disasters, the great recession and the rise of millennials, the covid 19 pandemic...all bad. But there was high speed internet, many many medical breakthroughs, smartphones coming ,Obamas first 6 years in office, trumps first 2 and a half years in office ,the Arab spring, occupy Wallstreet/anonymous,The New orleans saints 😳 won a superbowl and Drew Brees became a hall of famer.Tom Brady won SEVEN superbowl rings and played till he was 45!!! Elon Musk and almost everything he did aside from that crazy flamethrower he made for Escobars brother 😆 now island nations are disappearing and it appears that global warming truly is real ( idk who or what caused it just that we can't stop it)
El alma, la sonrisa y el carisma de la banda nos dejó hoy. Pero se queda en nuestros corazones su entrega y pasión por la música. Es un día triste para el rock 💔🤘

Honestly... watching this again is making me realize how short life is. I remember seeing this music video on MTV now it's 2022 and realizing how old this is makes me miss the 90's and early 2000's I wish I could go back one more time. But never can this song was a favorite of mine. And always will be. Besides my mid life crisis here. Seeing how Dave progressed as a human over the years after nirvana, he has seen it all and done it all. You are incredible I wish I could say it to your face. Maybe one day.
I’m 25 and I miss the culture from when I was growing up. I would love to go back to the year 1990 and live from my age there now. Seems like such a simple time and everything was good.
Man, I am 19 and I listened to this song for the first time (in it's entirety) yesterday. I was born in 2002 and I still agree, it makes me want to go back in time. Even before I was born.
**~Lyrics~** [Verse 1] Hello, I've waited here for you Everlong Tonight, I throw myself into And out of the red Out of her head, she sang Come down, and waste away with me Down with me Slow how you wanted it to be And over my head, out of her head she sang [Pre-Chorus] And I wonder when I sing along with you [Chorus] If everything could ever feel this real forever If anything could ever be this good again The only thing I'll ever ask of you You've got to promise not to stop when I say when She sang [Verse 2] Breathe out, so I can breathe you in Hold you in And now I know you've always been And out of your head, out of my head I sang [Pre-Chorus] And I wonder when I sing along with you [Chorus] If everything could ever feel this real forever If anything could ever be this good again The only thing I'll ever ask of you You've got to promise not to stop when I say when She sang [Instrumental Break with whispering voices] [Bridge] And I wonder... [Chorus] If everything could ever feel this real forever If anything could ever be this good again The only thing I'll ever ask of you You've got to promise not to stop when I say when
Not 100% correct. It's "You've got to promise not to stop when I say YOU WIN" Not "You've got to promise not to stop when I say when" Listen to the acoustic version and you hear it more clearly.
I got Everlong tattooed on me about 10 years ago, 5 years ago Dave Grohl actually saw and commented on it. Seriously almost passed out. This has been my favorite song for 15 years and nothing has changed. It is a masterpiece.
RIP Taylor Hawkins. a kind soul taken too soon, nobody can ever replace you. you had the world at your feet and a long life to live. you will forever be missed. fly high. :((
There is something about ancient UA-cam videos that leaves me mesmerised. It always feels like 14 is enough time for something to be forgotten yet they live on.
After hearing about Taylor's passing I've been on a Foo Fighters binge, of the many bands I've listened to my whole life Foo Fighters has always been one of my favorites because they give me a super feeling of nostalgia, My dad would put them on in the car when by brother and I were young at night on the way home after a long night at grandma and grandpa's. My Dad always loved them and hearing about his death actually hit me, more than I anticipated. Rest In peace you legend.
i haven’t listened to the Foo Fighters in sooooo long. Revisiting this song is bittersweet to say the least. One of the first rock songs I ever listened to. RIP TAYLOR HAWKINS.
@@helenahelena1806 He is indeed a gem and a wholesome dude, most certainly will give you that. Hidden however... not so much. He was rippin the sticks for Nirvana in 1990 before starting Foo... I dont think you could go an hour the entire span of the 90's without hearing a tune from either band on the rock stations. He's been in the R&R Hall of Fame for years... you dont accomplish that without people knowing your name! ;)
This song made me an instant fan, I can’t tell you how much Foo Fighters’ music has uplifted my soul. I don’t think there is a big enough debt I could pay them back for the creation of this song, which has calmed and soothed my depression and saved my life. They probably will never read this but bless these guys for their music and making life worth wanting to live.
That's how I feel with My Hero. I was 10 when it came out. The energy those guitars provided was wicked. Lifted my soul out of any funk. I remember when I heard that on the radio in gym class I wanted to run harder, work out harder, etc.

There's something about that intro that just pumps you up no matter how many times you hear it...
Yes. I heard it in 1997 and bounced around to it. It sounded kind of exciting.
Truth be told it's my favorite Foo Fighters song and I wrote it too
Frfr and very very few songs nowadays have that type of power either

This song is a masterpiece. The soft intro guitar, then the bass and the drums come in so hard they just mash into one of the best instrumentals ever

My son told me the other day that he "found this new really cool song."

But this song made us the same age, for that moment.

Benjamin Khoury I read this first and thought you said you gave her a pearl necklace on her b day (when you’re older you’ll understand)

# In an interview, Grohl said the song is about "That song's about a girl that I'd fallen in love with and it was basically about being connected to someone so much, that not only do you love them physically and spiritually, but when you sing along with them you harmonise perfectly."
# The song is about about the start of his relationship with ex-wife, Jennifer Youngblood.

And out of the red
Out of her head, she sang
Come down and waste away with me
Down with me
Slow, how you wanted it to be
I'm over my head
Out of her head, she sang
And I wonder
When I sing along with you
If everything could ever be this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I'll ever ask of you
You've got to promise not to stop when I say when
She sang
Breathe out
So I can breathe you in
Hold you in
And now
I know you've always been
Out of your head
Out of my head, I sang
And I wonder
When I sing along with you
If everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again

On the contrary. Good music still exists, we just heard a perfect living example of that. The music of the Beatles, Bach and Nirvana and many others will never go away nor be destroyed by the "industry". My word of advice: Don´t ruin your life listening to today´s bullshit. Instead, listen to bands like FF. Everything is handmade with no autotune bullshit. That is craftsmanship.

Figured it was fitting since we met at a *Foo Fighter* concert back in 2003. #Everlong
Hayden H that sounds perfect
That’s adorable
@kieran morley @Shyanne Vasquez
thanks for the support, ladies :P & nice taste in music (and dogs!) :]
That's so awesome. Congrats man
Well they're a keeper man
I've heard this song over 1,000 times and it still has never gotten old. I think it actually gets better every time I hear it.
Agree broo, i listened to this song when i'm pumped up, this song help me through my worst break up, help me through my final test, when i'm driving, a lullaby before i sleep, hell... i guess this song might be played in my funeral as well
Mr Jay I want it on loop at my funeral. I can’t go a single day without hearing this song. Ever since I was seven, I haven’t heard a better song.
Tyler Gaskell if you haven’t already listen to the acoustic version. Can’t decide what version is the best
Matthew Couplan I love the acoustic version. I think it’s a fantastic version of this song, and Dave does it like no one else ever does. To this day, I’ve never heard a cover of Everlong (acoustic or full band) that even came close to sounding as badass as the original.
Although, I do personally prefer the full band version of the song, I absolutely love the acoustic version.
this song reminds me of my highschool years, when everything was taken for granted... but as time goes by, people change, you change, life changes
I swear mannn…💯
I was hanging out with this girl and her friend on top of my garage one night. And she out of the blue snuggled up to me when this song was playing, we held hands and now this song just encapsulates the feeling I got that night.
I love you too homie 2022
Elon Musk and almost everything he did aside from that crazy flamethrower he made for Escobars brother 😆 now island nations are disappearing and it appears that global warming truly is real ( idk who or what caused it just that we can't stop it)
💯
This song will always play inside me... 💝
El alma, la sonrisa y el carisma de la banda nos dejó hoy. Pero se queda en nuestros corazones su entrega y pasión por la música.
Es un día triste para el rock 💔🤘

Ngl. Kinda got the chills watching this again😅
Esperemos que la banda nose desintegre, la idea es no dejar morir la banda como paso con metallica después de la muerte de cliff burton.
Probably one of the top 100 most iconic songs of all time.
the fuck are you talking about
the guitar alone is not on any other song its in the top 50 not 100 for me
Crispy knows. Iconic music video, no doubt
Top 100? More like top 5.
yeah, the song sounds good but i've got a lot of songs in my top 10 and this at least is in my top 90
Goddammit, Dave.
Honestly... watching this again is making me realize how short life is.
I totally understand the midlife crisis as I was thinking the same while re watching this today.. Were getting old man!!
@@_WithH I know man. The digital age gets to constantly remind us that we are aging quickly lol
Man, I am 19 and I listened to this song for the first time (in it's entirety) yesterday. I was born in 2002 and I still agree, it makes me want to go back in time. Even before I was born.
Music is simply the best thing that exists. And this song in my eyes only reinforces that.
**~Lyrics~**
[Verse 1]
Hello, I've waited here for you
Everlong
Tonight, I throw myself into
And out of the red
Out of her head, she sang
Come down, and waste away with me
Down with me
Slow how you wanted it to be
And over my head, out of her head she sang
[Pre-Chorus]
And I wonder when I sing along with you
[Chorus]
If everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I'll ever ask of you
You've got to promise not to stop when I say when
She sang
[Verse 2]
Breathe out, so I can breathe you in
Hold you in
And now I know you've always been
And out of your head, out of my head I sang
[Pre-Chorus]
And I wonder when I sing along with you
[Chorus]
If everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I'll ever ask of you
You've got to promise not to stop when I say when
She sang
[Instrumental Break with whispering voices]
[Bridge]
And I wonder...
[Chorus]
If everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I'll ever ask of you
You've got to promise not to stop when I say when
Thanks bro ;)
@@darcyduncantech how else would they be able to show off the copy and pasting of lyrics skill?
Not 100% correct.
It's "You've got to promise not to stop when I say YOU WIN"
Not "You've got to promise not to stop when I say when"
Listen to the acoustic version and you hear it more clearly.
I got Everlong tattooed on me about 10 years ago, 5 years ago Dave Grohl actually saw and commented on it. Seriously almost passed out. This has been my favorite song for 15 years and nothing has changed. It is a masterpiece.

@@Guthix198 It's true. What a dumb fucking thing to lie about lol all he said was "that's awesome, I love it" and moved on. Still meant a lot.
That’s incredible omg

RIP Taylor Hawkins. a kind soul taken too soon, nobody can ever replace you. you had the world at your feet and a long life to live. you will forever be missed. fly high. :((
There is something about ancient UA-cam videos that leaves me mesmerised. It always feels like 14 is enough time for something to be forgotten yet they live on.
Bro couldn't control his Everdong
Bro 💀💀💀 LMAO
Your mom makes me forever long

And nine months later, you were born. Great story.

@nasser wiz pleb!
@nasser wiz bro what
in reality this is one the best songs ever written....
100% man, this song massively helped shape my musical taste from a young age and I'm so fucking grateful.
He's been in the R&R Hall of Fame for years... you dont accomplish that without people knowing your name! ;)
@@helenahelena1806 best song ever
@@timbattman342 this songs keeps me goin on... NO Matter how f***** am i...
Great song and highly trippy and originally creative video. I think they were ahead of their time with the visuals.
Why is this my first time listening to this, this is so goodddd
Que en paz descanse Taylor, nos dejo un legado tremendo. Que triste noticia. Lo extrañaremos.💔 Los foo fueron gran parte de mi vida, que noticia mas jodida.
::(
:(
😢
This song made me an instant fan, I can’t tell you how much Foo Fighters’ music has uplifted my soul. I don’t think there is a big enough debt I could pay them back for the creation of this song, which has calmed and soothed my depression and saved my life. They probably will never read this but bless these guys for their music and making life worth wanting to live.
That's how I feel with My Hero. I was 10 when it came out. The energy those guitars provided was wicked. Lifted my soul out of any funk. I remember when I heard that on the radio in gym class I wanted to run harder, work out harder, etc.
@@germanenglishengineer2054 my mom got me into rock and foo fighters Is one of the first bands she showed me and my hero has to be my favorite song by them.
Be a better human being, for yourself, and others.
Rest in Peace, Taylor Hawkins.
Your drumming feats gave life to the music in a way that will never be done again.
It's a tragedy you went so early.
