When my brother died of leukemic cancer, he was wearing his headphones with his eyes closed and a smile on his face, this song was ringing on his phone. Whenever it sounds or I listen to it again, it reminds me of that scene and I wonder "If everything could ever be this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again". Miss you Chris You have no idea how much i miss you

I’m so very sorry. I lost one of my older sisters back in 2004, it almost broke my entire family. I promise you, regardless of beliefs;you will see him again and he is around you. How do I know this? As a former Catholic, then Agnostic followed by dying /coding about 3 times so far because of a seizure disorder (Hospital ER has brought me back) I’ve gotten my answer that THERE IS MORE THAN THIS WORLD. I was on life support after my last episode yet I’m not afraid of dying because I KNOW there is more. ✌️ ❤️

My uncle died from a drinking problem. He listened to this song almost all the time, one day I saw him cleaning his nails and Everlong was there. Damn, I just wish he could hear it again. At his funeral, I had headphones on listening to this while I was in pieces.
Thank you, Uncle M. I will never forget your teachings to me and my cousins. Today I am a man thanks to you. Thank you.

Still remember those many years ago. I was nine, having this Music Class at school, fourth grade. And my teacher, Steven, was the best. The dude from time to time would show us some videoclips. And this was one of them. More than that: we would PLAY this song on the flute. I miss those days. I would eventually have no more classes with him anymore as the years went by. But I’m glad he’s still there. It’s been 10 years ans I’m still here for this song
Thanks, Teacher Steven. You were one of the best teachers I’ve ever had

A five day battle with brain cancer.
I played this song for hours on a $49 dollar acoustic guitar beside his death bed.
He couldn't talk but I know he could hear.
It was the last song he ever heard,

I was 14 years old the first time I listened to this song. At first I never paid too much attention to the lyrics and their meaning. Two months ago I met a girl and we started to forge a very nice bond. I'm not afraid to admit that I started to have feelings for her. Today she told me that she will leave the town next week to finish her studies, and that she will probably not return until next year. I'm happy for her, but I can't help being a little sad. And that was the moment I remembered this song, specifically "If everything could ever feel this real forever, if everything could ever be this good again". 11 years later, I'm finally able to give a deeper and more personal meaning to this song. And this is the story about why I'm here tonight. If you took the time to read this, thank you, it's late at night and right now this is the only way I can vent.

I can relate. I'm only 16 now, and my father played this song all the time when I was too young to understand it. I started to have feelings for a girl in my class last year. I only really started talking to her in the last marking period. I went to her birthday last month, and got her a pearl necklace. I didn't even wait around to see her open it. Now a new school year is starting, but I don't have any of the same classes as her. I probably won't ever see her again. Here I am now making a mix tape I probably won't send her, and sharing sob stories with strangers on the internet after midnight.

It was very private😮, and not for everyone to know about 😢. I did not ask if I could bare child for him, as I am Toolong past those years....😅....I did, however, express to him that Everlong is one of the most beautiful songs ever written. I never really cared for this song.
If anything I was aware of it, nothing more.
I woke up yesterday with it stuck in my head and I went on to have the most awesome day of the year.
I'm now obsessed with this song.

Great Music Is Made When Your At Your Lowest And Really Feel Lost And Feel Like It's All Over That's When You Find The True Meaning Of Living And Appreciate It Everyday !! Just Remember You'll Always Gonna Have More Bad Days Than Good Ones ,That Spilt Second ,Your Smile And Laughter ,Will Return And Will Better Than Ever Just Keep Rolling Nothing Makes Sense But Over Time You'll Find Yourself 🤍

This song is as old as me, and I've probably heard it over a thousand times in my lifetime, and that build up right before the last chorus still gives me chills to this day. Beautiful piece of art.

That intro section alone is one of the most beautiful melodies in rock history.

John Smith Yup, just annoying for me since my guitar's bridge is kinda broke and therefore it takes up to 5 minutes to tune it to drop D. Besides that a very fun song in terms of playing it.
