I think Neil Diamond's Jonathan Livingston Seagull was the first album I ever bought with my own money. I read the book JLS in highschool. I don't think I understood the book, but I loved this album and everything he did so much. What an incredible man and such a beautiful voice to express the dreams and hopes of America that have been shattered so many times. I never saw him in concert but I have never felt very far away from him. Now understanding what nobody my age understood growing up, and I still hope for freedom in this country that promised it but never had the chance to actually see it. Everybody worked so hard to find freedom, and ended up finding here the very same thing they ran from in the first place. I find so much comfort in his familiar voice and wish I could tell him thank you for the good times I had listening to him when times seemed better. Love you, Mr. Diamond.❤

My first concert was the _Headed for the Future_ tour. I was 13, and I was already a huge fan. By then, I had already memorized every song on _The Jazz Singer_ soundtrack. From the first moment of that show to the last, I was mesmerized! This song, in particular, has always been my favorite, not just because it's a great song, but because there's so much going on in the background; strings, woodwinds, brass...and all those key changes. This is _musician's music,_ and I love the way _this_ version highlights all those amazing layers. Thanks, Neil!

One thing is perfectly clear to me: Neil still has his vocal power mostly intact to say the least. Many singers have tried to measure to their heyday, and have failed terribly. In lure, Diamond shines brilliantly. As soon as I get the chance, I'll lay my hands on this album.

I've been a fan of Mr Diamond since I was around 10 years old! In my early teens I devised a stage musical using Neil Diamond music - I even compiled a "mix tape" of songs from his "Greatest Hits" album to form a sort of show album. It was called "Columbus thru a Diamond" and told the (somewhat fictional) story of Columbus' discovery of America. This song was to be the end of Act 1 where the voyage was just about to make landfall. Other songs included Love on the Rocks and Headed for the Future (the opening of Act 2). I wish I could remember more from my youthful imagination...

Fabulous singer and inspirational song-writer. Neil Diamond brings people together again. We need this. We are in the middle of a pandemic where we are SIP (sheltering in place) so as not to spread Covid-19. His music brings people together online. Well-timed. Got choked up hearing him and seeing this. Inspirational music. And hopeful. So glad he's back, with London orchestra no less. He has an excellent voice. We are so lucky to have him as America's favorite, long-time singer throughout our life and across generations.

I would have loved to have seen him in concert just once. I wasn't even a teenager when I first heard Cracklin' Rosie, and from there I began collecting his music. This is definitely one of my favorites, but there are so many, and each one has a reason, so it's hard to say which of his songs is my favorite.
