Cory and Eric might not have been super close at this point, but even in his dream Cory couldn't bring himself to directly kill him. He had to imagine him jumping on his own.
@@jwest707that and he was the butt of every joke by being stupid… he just stupidly killed himself jumping after her. If Cory could kill easily shawn and first why wouldn’t he be able to kill his brother lol
This is the beauty of boy meets world that so many shows in this day and age lack and displays why it was so ahead of its time. Having Lauren, a girl Cory had a genuine connection with and could’ve been just as happy with outside of Topanga, and have her be the physical manifestation of everything Cory was giving up, a feeling all of us in life go through wondering about the life we could’ve had or the places we could have gone as a result, the known vs. the unknown. There’s no right decision when it come to situations like this, but can we live with that decision is what makes or breaks us.
I think it also means sacrificing for the one you love. In his dream, Cory is willing to let go of his friendship with Shawn, the chance to establish a bond with Jack, Angela, and Rachel, re-establishing a relationship with his brother Eric, and closed the door completely on having a relationship with Lauren despite them having chemistry.
No. I think it means Cory will have to sacrifice all his friends once he marries Topanga. She comes first. They will rarely see their friends as the majority of their time will be spent together. Nothing will be as it was. Realizing you are gaining a life partner but losing the close relationships you had in the past. Happens to all married couples.
This hits hard man. I'm married going on 2 years. Sometimes it's a trip and temptation to go back to the 'previous life' and hanging out with the buddies or doing my own thing. But it's the compromise and price one pays for marrying their wife
So true Cory gave up a lot of things girls he never met places he never got to go an life he will never have, he chose Topanga which was a great thing. I miss shows like these that had real life problems
It honestly doesn't feel like he was giving up all that much. He could still go to a lot of places with Topanga, and one of the main reasons for dating a lot of girls is to find the one that you're supposed to be with which he did. I've never dated at all but I do have faith that I'll meet the man that I'm supposed to be with. And that doesn't sound like such a raw deal to me. It sounds like a wonderful adventure that I'm waiting to take when I'm ready.
Man this hits way harder when you’re married and hit your 30’s. Something you always think about, regardless of how happy you are, but it doesn’t matter in the end. There are infinite paths to happiness. Just live.
Same here I also think this was during Halloween when they did this episode and the SCREAM parody episode when they were trapped in the school and everyone was getting killed lol good times
+gMyBear she prob said that to see if he understood why he killed them. after all, he had that dream to see why he was having that dream before. It was the explanation dream toward the end.
Lauren commits suicide in this scene; she is the only one that Cory does not kill, though perhaps he did not need to because given her words, he was already doing so figuratively.
This scene right here is the representation of the new way i look at life now, i always liked this scene when i first saw it. This represents not only the girl you want to marry but all things in life. Like when you give up bad friends and dating to have enough free time to actually study, to give up all negative thoughts, to give up trying to fit in so all things that i actually want are attracted to me, give up on the adventure, to be independent and draw people who are just themselves and real, that way i will get someone like Shawn and Topanga.
I really liked this episode. When Lauren showed up, I literally cried. If only Cory dated her to see other opportunities in his life. If only Topanga went to Yale. Their marriage was so rushed and was not okay for me, I don't know. Not everything is "love."
You weren’t paying attention to the show, were you? Cory and Topanga have been dating since they were babies. They knew they were going to end up together from the beginning. Besides, if Lauren was willing to cheat with Cory, chances are she would have cheated ON Cory. She wasn’t trustworthy and they were not compatible. Thankfully, Cory realized that, he chose Topanga and he got a wonderful life in return.
@@no_stick_drummer2735 this was also explained in the series. I wrote this comment a year ago, and I still don't like Corpanga very much, but I think the writers handled some problems well. At least they were addressed, but the thing I really don't like is that they idealized their relationship to an extent that Corpanga called themselves "soulmates" of each other at the age of 13?!?! Other than the "I cannot live without you" part, the problems were addressed in a meaningful way, which Topanga asking to marry Cory because she was scared to go to Yale is an example to.

I knew and liked a Lauren, too, and I'd been crushing on her for a few years. Then I heard she was engaged and it was a lot to bear. Especially when I was working her wedding reception. This video is an acknowledgment that dreams indeed have meaning to be interpreted. This is one of the many things in life that people take for granted on a daily basis, and why many people never come to the conclusion that God exists who communicates with them all the time, because people are not looking for him and are therefore taking these daily experiences for granted.
@@flyingfrog7847 I never said it was a real dream, I said that the video was acknowledgment that dreams indeed have meaning to be interpreted. The only reason why they would even use something like this in a show is because these things happen in real life. This is not some unrealistic situation, it's an ordinary experience in life that everyone can relate with, and if a person chose to consider their dreams, it would not take long for them to confirm that dreams do have meaning and interpretation.
