While I agreed Cory was very disrespectful to his mother in this episode, he had every right to defend the woman he loved and confront his mother about her behavior. He should have just done so in a more respectful tone.
You can stand up for your woman without disrespecting your mother. They are both your queens. One's heart doesn't have to break in order to support another. It shows that Cory is very much still a boy who needs to learn emotional maturity which will than develop him into a man. A true adult knows how to communicate in any situation without loosing control.
