Normally the tv mechanics really are not that good mechanically but are good "actors" (for a lack of a better word). Kevin I r3eally believe is good at both and better mechanically than "actor" as he can be annoying as hell sometimes, but the content is always awesome and makes perfect sense.
Did you ever end up doing this to your ‘77? I have a ‘77 and I want to do this too but those corner moldings are only for the ‘81-‘87. I have ordered the complete trim kit from LMC but the girl I spoke with on the phone tells me that the trim kit for the bedside does not wrap around the corner AND they don’t sell a corner molding. Now I don’t know how I will connect the bedside moldings to the tailgate moldings. I have not received the product yet and I am hoping that when I do, I will find out that she is wrong and that in fact the bedside molding does in fact bend the corner. I’m hoping you will tell me the same. LOL
i have a rust free 78 no engine or trans black with silver clean body it will make a good project truck selling it for 1000 bucks i have a few of them already have a 79 4x4 short box cheyenne full option truck in mint condition from the factory with under 35,000 miles on it and building a 68 hot rod pu so i don't need all the pu i have sitting plus i have fords pu too
Watching your tutorials really inspired me. Buying a 1987 Chevy K5 Blazer next week. Paint is in great shape, but the interior can definitely be worked on. Going to use your website to restore it!
My 86 Silverado has the moldings that you put on your truck but mines all weathered especially the side moldings around the truck, this video is helpful how to install brand new moldings. Keep up the great work and I'm pretty sure I'll be an LMC Truck customer too. Do a video where you put the factory pin stripes back on or better yet, start selling factory stripes stickers in a variety of colors. I don't think the dealership even sell the stripes stickers anymore.
I use to paint and repair these trucks in the 90s at a body shop. We took all the extra rubber type chrome off and left it off. The only piece we left was the cab piece under the back window. That sucked getting that off and cleaned.
I like these sort of videos. Very helpful. But has anyone noticed that the drip rail over the drivers door seems to be at an odd angle towards the front? 20.00
Hello Max. We do not offer precut side molding for the dually application. We do offer a 32 foot chrome molding roll for Silverado applications. Please see the link below. www.lmctruck.com/1973-87-chevy-gmc/molding/cc-1981-87-pre-cut-body-side-molding-set
I hope one day we can have distributor for lmc parts in Saudi Arabia it's hard to find exterior and interior parts for our trucks so we have to look in junkyard
Yes the double sided tape used to on the the stick on portions is much better than the original. Just make sure the paint is clean. Use alcohol cleaner like Tetz did or wax and grease remover. It's also a good idea to have the metal and stick on moldings warm so the adhesive can get a good bond. Good luck
Isn't there supposed to be 2 clips for each corner piece? Or is it different for a little bit older truck? (76 C20)I see where a hole was drilled on the side but not on the back of the cab for it. LMC shows 2 clips each for the corner pieces as well as 8 clips for the straight piece. (76 C20) Video is great BTW.
I ordered some trim from LMC truck for my 1979 C10. I had it installed and it came out pretty defective and tacky looking. Unfortunately I drilled holes in my truck and paid the shop to install it. And I regret it now.
What happened to the paint on the fuel tank door? I have been following this build since I am restoring an 82 and to see all the time, money, and effort that you have put into it, I think you should fire who ever painted the bed. That is a horrible tape line and it just ruins the entire truck. :(
Hello Kevin, can you provide the accessories in the video, to buy them from you and send them to me in my country, how to communicate with you and thank you
Bought the 32 foot roll from LMC. Installation went fine on my K5. Few months later the molding chrome finish is starting to look bad and the adhesive tape is separating from the molding causing it to lift. The tape is still well adhered to the body so this was not installer error. Poor quality product and will need to redo the whole job.
Hello Juan. Please find the link below for the sealer pen we offer. www.lmctruck.com/1973-87-chevy-gmc/molding/cc-1981-87-pre-cut-body-side-molding-set
I am waiting to see them out there glass and there weather seals in one or these trucks becouse there glass is .187 thicker than factory glass thickness and the windows will not roll up all the way even with there relay kit and new motors ... spent thousands with lmc and when you get a problem they did not help!
We're sorry to hear the glass you ordered won't work for you! We'd be happy to help you get this returned for a refund. Feel free to call our customer service department at 1-800-562-8782 so we can get you taken care of!
Now I know how to install the rear trim piece on the cab and the corner moldings. Thanks!
Wow someone posted the bob ross of Auto body / automotive so true he stays so relaxed great job 😎 Kevin

Nicely done and informative 👍👍

My dad used to have a green and silver GMC K-1500 Wideside back in late 1970's.

In the process of restoring its twin and looking for the factory colored pin stripe ?
Use a leaser level to line up the tape

We understand Abdullah! We're sorry for any inconvenience this causes.
Can you explain why the drip rails don’t line up or go on in person and when I push it on it don’t “self lock”
What are the measurements for the fender emblem
Great video BUT when you put the cab wrap on the long piece is upside down. They do go a certain way.
I was hoping he would peal the paint off when he was pulling the tape
U sound as u speak from experience 😂
Maybe you can help me. I can nit find one video in how to remove side chrome trim on 83 F100. How is this done without damaging the chrome trim?
Hello Phillip. We offer a panel & trim tool set. www.lmctruck.com/1980-96-ford/panel-and-trim-removal-tool-set

Thank you so much! I text the right folks!!
I've had issues with this trim peeling and flaking off. So now I need to replace it all. Have their been improvements to the material of the trim?

Do you know where I can get all of those side molds at?
Probably on the LMC website
a question are the edges of the moldings glued or do you have to buy the pen
Hello Juan. The pre-cut molding is ready-to-install truck molding with factory formed or factory die-cut end treatments.
Are those clips for the corner pieces still available? I cannot find them on the site!
Please find the link for the comer molding and clips we offer below. www.lmctruck.com/1973-87-chevy-gmc/molding/cc-1981-87-tailgate-molding
No sealant for screws going into the cab?
Good thing he put that molding on there cause that two tone paint line was fucked
That white stripe where it transitions from the door to the fender is way uneven at the top of the white.
Where can I buy the bedside trim for under the taillights for my 86 silverado? Please
Anyone have any report on how the pre cut body side moldings are holding up?
I only came here for 24:53
thank you

That paint job at the front of bed doesn’t line up with the cab. Can’t stop looking at it.
Yep
I know right?!!! Bothers the heck out of me too
You know it’s bad when it’s on a TV show.... TV shows are supposed to be “perfect” examples.
I ordered some trim from LMC truck for my 1979 C10. I had it installed and it came out pretty defective and tacky looking. Unfortunately I drilled holes in my truck and paid the shop to install it. And I regret it now.
8:00 I felt that
I think that was the scooter actually now lol
I want to install those moldings on my 2014 Silverado Single Cab

It's just a rough paint line, since trim is going over it.
A paint line without trim requires more steps. No need for those if trim is going over it.

Missing a lugnut!
Lmc truck blows every time I try to order it's 6 to 8 weeks backordered
That ain't LMC's fault. They don't manufacture the parts. They can only sell what they get in. Try being patient like the majority of us are. ;)

I'd zinc-coat and primer the drilled holes and use an anchor to prevent new rust sooner or later ua-cam.com/video/ffYSF-9dHdo/v-deo.html#t=27m20s

Dont like that cab strip at all, they dont match.
its painful watching a freshly painted truck get holes drilled into it for that ugly shit
The title of this video should be: "How to over complicate something simple."
