The quality on these LMC ones ain't good. The seams are splitting after 2 years, and the color has faded from the sun. I'd say just pay your local upholstery shop.
Use a wet towel and a hot iron to shrink out the wrinkles. Lay down the wet towel on the wrinkles and put the hot iron on the towel and steam out the wrinkles. It shrinks it right up tight. That's how we used to do it, when needed, at Jay's Auto Upholstery Shop in Pomona, CA.
Too many wrinkles
i think that was a pretty lousy instalation, look at the original seat cover - NO wrinkles - then look at the new instalation - Wrinkles all over the place. i If I had a shop install covers like that id throw the seat at him and then give them a chance to do the job right. if not satisfactory then. Id sue them
"perfect time to put on some white lithium grease" *sprays wildly random pattern, misses the inner track completely...
Correct me if I have unrealistic expectations, but that didn't look like a good fit...it looked loose and wrinkled... is that normal? will the cover shrink to fit?
Why you always show everything about our Chevy an not on ford
Looks a bit baggy
Why can't LMC truck offer a TRUE 40/60 split bench? Like the driver is in a bucket seat which is the only section that slides and the rest of the bench is fixed in place. No center console, no flip out arm rest, with a head rest, that is OEM looking for all years of 88 to 98 for chevys? I'm ripping my hair out just trying to find a complete unit. NOT THE CUSTOM splits that are currently being offered.
"Like puttin socks on a rooster." Hahah awesome
I think you talked me into it Kevin. I really need upholstery for an 83 squarebody and I was planning to farm this out to a really expensive upholstery guy near me, but I think between my wife and I we can do this. Your videos are awesome
Really good. Always appreciate your teaching and guidance, Kevin.
I appreciate you so much Kevin. I am restoring a 1996 Ford F150 XLT. I have the one with the big super big engine. I’m excited. It’s in great condition and only has 80,000 miles on it. I’m reupholstering my seat today… And even though you’re working on a different vehicle than I am you’ve been a lot of help. Got to make sure to subscribe. Thanks buddy
Great job as usual. I watched this video after I installed new covers lol. I pretty much did it the same way. I would suggest to everyone watching, buy a good pair of hog ring pliers!! The pliers that came with my cover made for sloppy work. They ended up breaking, fortunately on the very last clip :)
I always put new seat vinyl in the sun, usually sitting on my black car roof absorbing lots of heat, and loosening the vinyl. The plastic does work great on the tighter skins on seat backs. Also, after hog ringing the skins on your new seats, I let the completed set sit out in the hot sun for an hour or so, so that vinyl can relax and take a set to its new shape and form. It prevents tearing of the vinyl
I can truly say this car seat saved my 13 months old babygirl. We were in a terrible rollover accident and my daughter didn’t have a single scratch. I’m here to purchase it again after the accident and wanted to write this review. Buy it! Worth every penny!
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I think it's time to squeeze the trigger on a kit.
would be nice to see how heat warmers were plugged together, and plugged to the truck power source.
If you had used a steamer on the back foam it re-expands it to its original dimensions.
Kevin. You are awesome! Thanks for all that you do for the automotive community!
