I know this is an older video, but I'm just getting around to rewiring my truck. This wiring harness is top quality and easy to install. Thanks for the help Kevin.
Real truck, real mechanic, real parts, reusing what you got to keep it on the road and no commercial break and it's done like other shows.... exactly the kind stuff I want to see when I'm wrenching on my truck....Thanks LMC😆
Kevin, thanks for using the term “Bulkhead” as it is not a firewall. Plus, any electrical connector have multiple terminals. Male terminals are used on the device while the harness side is always female. Save a sample of different types from old electrical parts that are just thrown away. Use the terminal for pin fit just like using feeler gauges. Not so much a problem on a new harness but very helpful future old connector terminals on old harnesses during diagnosis. Also, always to eliminate oxidation or corrosion, even from moisture in the air, keep a tube of dielectric grease. How many times has someone fixed a malfunctioning bulb buy scuffing with a nylon pad to shine up and achieve a low resistant connection. It’s sold in the auto section of home improvement stores or boat dealers that use large tubes that are way cheaper by the oz. than a parts store. Thanks for the interesting instructional video! Good lord! If you are going to fix your positive wire problem at the battery why would you not cut the frayed and oxidized end off the line and start with a complete and clean section of wire? Heck you could even go so far as to solder the wire to the positive battery terminal connector. Better connections mean less resistance and more power being distributed as intended. Oh! Would it kill ya to use some of that dielectric gel on your connectors? All in all though, very good instructional video. Thank you for the work you do.
I agree, that wasn't much of a repair. And considering it's instructional video, that was appalling. That increased resistance creates heat, so given enough load, you've got a fire on your hands.
FYI… the ground from the original driver side headlight harness needs to be reattached along with the new harness ground or the turn signals won’t work… ask me how I know… lol. Very informative video. Thanks Kevin and LMC
Take it from me, you'll want to use some dielectric grease on those new leads that tie in to your battery. Even with a proper cleaning and tight installation mine had corroded after time. Several years ago I did the headlamp wiring harness upgrade from LMC truck. Using that harness and a set of new H6024 halogen bulbs ('68 C10) had really improved my night vision for driving. I'll eventually upgrade to the LED headlamps, but until then I'll burn my halogens until one burns out.
Gabriel Sandoval Buy a set if halogen sealed beans dude. Got em on my 71 Nova and they're plenty bright. Bright enough at night for more bugs to splat on my car and near misses with deer!!! Lol!!
Nice save Kevin 👍🏾, slick with that ground cable 😅 FYI anyone with an XJ aka Cherokee. This harness will work and it’s what I’m about to order for both my XJ’s as well as some nice new LED headlights.
What was the orange light in the wheel well at the end? Also would have been good to know the voltage difference at the 12v headlight wiring before and after the upgrade. Placing those red wire terminals between the clamp on the battery reduces the pressure it can exert on the positive wire, plus cut that wire and clean it that way.
Now this is my idea of fun weekend project. Minimum amount of effort, yet such a big difference. What a change to the night driving experience! This will be my next project after i get my doors re-pinned and re-aligned. Until then, I'll just work vicariously thru Kevin. Great vid! I enjoyed it. Do you have an exclusive LMC 'ground-up' build video? I'd buy it :)
We don't have a full ground up video yet. We had a truck featured on the last season of Chop, Cut, Rebuild on MAVTV, which was pretty close to a full ground up build film.
Hooked up to my 78 ford f150 it worked but now I only have low beam lights my dimmer swich which usually kicks on my high beam now just turns lights on and off..any suggestions
lmao, did you guys see all the light comming from the fender well? dont tell me all that light is comming from those new bulbs, omg I rechecked the video, it sure looks like it!
The problem is with LMC, for what I've experienced, is that when I asked for advice on the fittest harness for my 1976 K20 OEM restoration, they answered that they couldn't fully do that since they are not "licensed mechanics or technicians ". As you can imagine, when you buy parts from Europe, you think twice before throwing money out of the window for unusable spares and shipping. Furthermore, we don't have too many US cars here and, consequently, there are almost no mechanics to ask.
Great video ...right up to the point where you kept those horrible battery cable repair clamps. Those are the worst for getting corrosion. If your doing an electrical job the first thing you gotta do is get a good battery cable connections. Nothing is gonna work for long if you keep those things. Crimped or soldered and sealed up well to prevent acid vapors from attacking the copper. Repair clamps are for emergency use to get you home to make a real repair.
Would be really nice if someone made replacement light housings for classic cars w 10-11 inch round lights! I’ve been looking for an additional set of original housings for our 1927 Buick Standard to take a part of modify to house a 7 inch round clear reflector inside along w a switchback led running light/turn signal inside!!! I don’t want to modify my originals lights but a replacement set I would!!
I don't understand how the headlight switch or dimmer switch works with this system. How do you control the headlights, and dim the lights while you're driving?
Installed in an hour. I had to borrow a cordless driver to drill holes for the ground. Unfortunately the ground wires are too short to attach to the factory ground bolts. My headlights are now as bright as a modern vehicle's. Too easy!!
I'm having an issue with this product. I have power from the fuse box to the new relays but not to the headlights and side markers. New ground wires, all the way around. Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you
Question On a 1964-1966 C10, after routing the head lights harness past the drivers side inner fender well, exactly where does the wiring pass through on the radiator support core?
great video by the way. Can I use the original wiring harness with these aftermarket LED lights? I also want to take advantage of the ones that have the built-in turn signals that are absolutely terrible
I am looking for a complete Headlight Assembly for my Two-Headlight system on a 1969 Chevy C-20 Pickup. A kit that includes the Headlamp Housing, Headlamp Bucket, Headlamp Trim Ring and all necessary Headlight Adjusting Hardware Do you have anything for the 1969 Chevy C-20?
Nice how to, however as an observation the connections that were cleaned up at the battery looked nasty. It wouldn't have taken too much longer to replace the battery cables and terminals in a truck like that. Bad grounds and power sources can cause all kinds of problems to related systems.
@@QSAUnited with all led lighting does your blinker indicator work in the dash? Because I'm looking to do this as well on my truck "Big Booty Judy". I'm asking because some people said it dosent build up enough resistance for the signal to indicate??

I installed the dual headlight harness on my 65 GMC 1/2 ton. It drained my battery and did not work with the headlight switch. Anyone else have issues installing?
No one does any work on the Suburbans. Why? I am planning to exchange my Halogen lights with LEDs. I also am planning a compete rewire of my 78 Suburban and have no idea where the wire loom goes along or in the body to the rear of the vehicle. NO one gives any information on this little issue.
I want some led headlights for my f100. Can i get some from LMC truck and just pull the originals And put the aftermarkets in without adding anything. Just unplug and plug?
I bought the 36-0299 headlight from you guys and the 36-3580 wiring harness that you just used. I did everything that you did. But I have a problem. my low beams are dimmer now than the stock low beams. WHY? The hi beams work awesome!!

I have a 1987 chevy stepside , when I turn on the light , all lights except the headlight come on, i ordered the heavy-duty upgrade headlight harness hope that fixes the head light issue. MAUSER
How many of your people have actually purchased the kit he's pimping here? Well, I did. Total JUNK!!! Made my situation worse because the parts are inferior. Lately I've had a few issues with LMC. Headlight buckets are another thing I had problems with. The hole where the spring connects is wide open with no way to actually hold onto the bucket. Beware on this kit.
Have watched several of these videos and if is about electricity you it seems you connect everything back to the battery? New radio, Air conditioning, head lights, power windows, and so on!!!!! If I upgrade all of those components in my truck and run everything back to the battery I will have several wires running to the batter and no place to attach the battery terminal! (joking) But there has to be a better way to attach everything directly to the Battery, any suggestion's?
Not everything needs to be connected to the battery terminal, remember. If you feel confident enough to solder and heat shrink, you can easily solder additional wires in parallel to the wire already connected to the battery terminal. Be careful not to exceed you’re battery’s current limit though, or else your car won’t be able to start up if all those electrical systems are drawing current.

Kevin, usually I just watch the videos with a grain of salt to get the idea and all the things that might go wrong. You are a professional but don't show it in your work. all that rust under the battery tray was probably from acid leaking, the holes in the bottom of the radiator support and the battery tray should have been neutralised, cleaned up and painted. Are there LED headlights available for 77 Dodge Royal Monaco
Does this installation work with the 78 Chevy Squarebody?
Yes, it sure does.
Question: with the upgraded halogen and led halo ring, is the heavy duty harness required or can you just use that pig-tail converter?
with the new harness ,,does the dimmer button still work ?
Hi Paul, the dimmer button would maintain functionality with these parts.
With led lighting will they melt snow and ice? It said it doesn’t burn as hot. Thanks
Hello, this depends on how cold it is and how long the LED's have been on. Given enough time they could melt snow.

Yes, high and low beams maintain their functionality with this system.
