Thanks for another great review! I'm an economy class flyer, so I really appreciate honest Y reviews. I flew an Emirates 777-300ER with 3-4-3 and absolutely hated it! I felt jammed into my seat, elbow to elbow with the person next to me. And yet a 777 with 3-3-3 such as Singapore is much more comfortable. Jamming in that extra seat is a no-go for me. The A380 with 3-4-3 is much more comfortable than a 777 with 3-4-3, not surprising since the A380 fuselage is wider than a 777. I checked seatguru seat maps, and sure enough Emirates A380 economy seats are wider (18") versus Emirates 777 seats (17"). You were lucky to be on a 777 with no one next to you. I will avoid any 777 with 3-4-3 unless there's no acceptable option.
I'll be taking my second set of flights with Emirates in economy this summer. I thought their hard and soft product were fantastic! I had been worried about flying again post-pandemic and with a newly diagnosed medical issue but everything went so smoothly. They were always so lovely! I look forward to flying them again. Yes, the ffm are hard to get and it's a steep price to use them. I will say, regarding carry-on luggage, Emirates was so lovely when it came to my second carry-on. They just asked if they could check it for me, free of charge, after I'd already checked in 2 large bags! Wow! As a NYer, I'm used to being nickel and dimed so this customer service was shocking. It made the price worth it.
@@fawcue5844 I'm a large lady but not in the tall sense. I'm only 5'3/ about 165 cm. I thought the seats were great on the Airbus aircraft flights I took but the Boeing aircraft flights were uncomfortable - the seat width is too small, same with the aisles.
Thanks for the review, will be flying Emirates and both aircraft for the first time next August. Been looking at some experiences for what to expect....can't wait !
Hey! I would like to share one of my experiences on an older seat design on one of their 777s from 2010 and unfortunately I would say the IFE's responsiveness was quite unresponsive. The aircraft to be exact was A6-ECZ which was about 12 years when I flew it back to 2022. Heads up too if you are considering a Singapore Airlines economy comparison I really recommend flying the comfortable 2013 design seats on the 77Ws along with the (horrifying) regional 787-10s. Their soft product should be consistent across their fleet too. Oh yeah. Definitely consider giving a try on ANA's The Suite first class too, and a retry of The Room on the Tokyo-London route, now a 12-14 hour flight to avoid Russian airspace. Plus their ecomony on their 77Ws and 787s are kind of contrasting too in terms of hard product 👌
Hi Dan, I can't stop watching your videos. Honestly, ever since I started watching your videos I've been getting more and more excited to fly emirates a380's from Amsterdam (AMS) to Tokyo (NRT) this upcoming may. As I was watching your videos, I noticed the music you put into the video's add a lot to the vibe that makes me so excited to go flying soon. I was wondering if you have a playlist of all the music that you use in your videos as I'd like to create a fly vibes playlist for when I'm going to fly and I want to put the songs in there that you feature in your videos. :D Please continue making these amazing videos!
Window seat in economy on the A380 is amazing The space between the fuselage and the seat gives a lot more comfort. I flew the Qatar A350 (same route, 15hr+ flight) and the A380 is so much more comfortable
Went on the new opened route from miami to bogota (colombia), i do this trip one or twice a year and after flying spirit and jetblue, going in emirates made me realize that is worth spending some extra money to actually have a good experience on a plane.
Years ago, the 7kg carry on limit was strictly enforced on the 2am flight out of Brisbane that usually has a light-load... Experienced it a couple of times where I had to weight my carry-on at the check-in counter and at the gate...
@@davidlazarus67 have to agree with the no personal bag rule of emirates. this will be a big struggle for me as i've always travelled with 2 bags on board, and 2 checked bags
Emirates has a special place in my heart. I remember flying long haul routes as a kid from Australia to the UK and getting my polaroid and stuffed toy, I think it was also the first time I had a 7up.
Dan, your videos are so professional and complete. You have come a long way from your early silent, point-and-shoot takeoff and landing clips. Remember those? 🙃
one thing about Emirates economy class though: the service, ife and seats are NOT consistent. i fly a lot from east asia and the service is horrid, the crew seems like they just dont want to be there (it was often on A380's). however, on flights from dubai to Europe, the service is pretty good most of the time, except for the time when i flew in 2018 but 1 bad trip out of 12 is reasonable. the ife screen can range from the new white boarded screen to the oldest screen with 3 buttons (if u are flying the 777-200LR you might get the og screen with the 2 sound buttons). i know this is very opinionated but Emirates has terrible flight meals

With all of the experience Dan has accumulated in all these years traveling, I think a database for each airline for their seats and a calculation of miles made by Dan would be one of the best that anyone can possibily create.
Hi Dan. Taking this plane to DXB in a few weeks. I've chosen row 36 too...are there any issues with limited recline? (as mentioned on some websites!). I remember it wasn't an issue on A380. Sadly not an option on this route! 😢 Merci.

Just wish you'd done some longer hauls on these economy reviews but having listened to your podcast, we know that is something Dan doesn't do in economy 🤣
I flew to Sri Lanka in December 2023 with Air Arabia but we used Sri Lankan to go to the Maldives which was stunning and I would definitely use Emirates over any other airline. I loved the Maldives and I love your videos too! Such amazing content especially for me who is an av-geek!
Hi Dan, flying with Emirates to NZ in November 2024, can anyone tell me if the seats in from of the bulkhead fully recline? Love all your vids by the way
It is much wider. And it doesn’t just feel wider, it looks wider too. In this video Dan reviewed both planes with the same seat and screen, at 7:45 look at how that screen barely fits on the B777 seats, the corners are tight, and then look at the A380’s 16:36 seats with the same screens, see how much wider those corners of the seats are.
Hey Dan! I have a question and if anybody knows the answer please feel free to let me know! So if I was to fly emirates, how would I know what aircraft I’m flying on before getting my boarding pass or days prior to my flight.
My son is currently on his first flight on Emirates to Dubai. I guarantee that his seat is larger than economy on Delta. Excited for him and all he will experience. Thanks for the video it helps this Mom know what he will be experiencing😊👍
I flew Emirates 777 economy for 16 hours round trip recently. The product was great and I had a great flight. However, I had my expectation too high on the cabin service since many are hyping it. I still think SQ has the best cabin crew, being very attentive and efficient. My experience with Emirates cabin service can be more of a hit and miss. Flew Emirates a few times and on a lot of occassions the staff were a tad grumpy. There was an occassional nice member of staff but on the whole everything seemed too much trouble for both cabin and ground staff. Economy in 777 is a horrible experience when it is full. I fell quite ill on one flight to Shanghai, due to being dehydrated (Dubai is extremely hot during the summer), and the staff treated me as a complete inconvenience, which made me feel even worse.
Thanks for the review Dan, I'm looking forward to flying on Emirates pretty soon but thanks for showing us the vegan meals that they offer as well, that's a huge plus for me
Even Sam also boarding Emirates with Economy flights, and then both legends meets together is a most memorable moment ever. Imagine if Nonstop Dan, Sam Chui and Swiss001 crossover together, it would be a aviation knowledge with a little bit humor feels environment Keep it up legend 💪💪💪❤❤❤
Hi Dan, good morning, what I liked most was at lunch and also at dinner, but it was a surprise for Sam to show up, but there are also some tickets that you can buy a ticket for car above all, but it's the value of the tickets, which aren't cheap, that makes it worth buying.
you can not believe all from youtube ads , you must try it then experience it and then you will really understand it . I mysel already try Singapore A380 from Sydney to Singapore and back and it was a disaster fly for me . A 380 economy seat are very small , leg space is smaller than other normal economy. A 380 only good if you fly business and first class , for economy is a nightmare .
Any tips to make leg rest more comfortable? I tend to have swollen feet on long haul flights, and I guess those inflatable let rests are not allowed. Will be traveling next month on 777 with a very active toddler and I'm beyond nervous!
Funny enough I’ve never had any issues with hand luggage on EK. I always have a small bag n carry on. Now if we’re talking VS, then you will have a problem 🤣. I’ve flown Emirates at least within the past two years approximately four times so far. In two weeks it will be my fifth time. Post covid. Transit through DXB is simple n quick. But Dan does have a point. I too find B77W kinda cramped, and I’m short! So hopefully maybe EK will get rid of the 4th seat in the centre, to have 3-3-3 configuration v 3-4-3. However, due to operational reasons what Dan didn’t say, was that airlines are allowed to change aircraft equipment types at will. Meaning they could pull an A380 from one route, and replace it with B77W. Which is what I’ve found on my last leg of my trip next month. It was an A380, it’s now a B77W. And yeaaaa it is easy to burn points but harder to earn them on Emirates.
Having flown both the A380 and 77W back in January, when full to the brim, I can safely say that the legroom felt similar in my experience. I felt much more comfortable on the A380 thanks to a wider seat. But on both flights, I got a flashy new cabin on the 77W compared to a dated cabin on the A380, so I was torn between the two. BTW, I actually flew on A6-EEM from Toronto to Dubai back in May 2019.
Great review Dan! I can't wait to fly with their A380 in April for the first time. I have flown on their B777 before and would be curious to compare both. How would you compare Singapore Airlines and Emirates A380 economy class?
Emirates A380 Is better than any A380 and this is because they had been receiving A380s until the very end, which means they have many new ones still with flashy cabins.
This video captures the A380 perfectly. A bit of a Concorde moment where economics outweigh customer desires. Like Concorde, it will truly be a sad day when the A380 is retired and we are stuck in single deck twin engines.
Hey NonstopDan, I was wondering if you could do a review on the emirates 777-200lr (lr standing for long range) business class? Unlike the 777-300er(er standing for extended range) the 777-200lr does not have a middle seat and in general, the experience is better. You can find the 777-200lr on longer routes (12hrs+?). There aren’t many reviews of this, so it would be nice to see one. I hope you do this review!
nonstop dan...you commented on taking the later morning flight if flying to Maldives b/c the flight prior is always packed. What about the 02:40 am flight? Is that usually packed full as well?
we ended up booking the 2:40am DXB flight due to our Maldives schedule and I picked exit rows/Extra Legroom Seats 24, as hubby needs room to stretch his legs;. That should suffice well enough for a 4 hour flight. If I have extra points next year, and miles upgrade is available for Business Class, I'll try to snag that! lol Thanks for your help!@@NonstopDan
Dan, what airline would you say have the absolute best entertainment sytem? I know you Said Emirates is one of the best but you’ve also said BA has the most alternatives when it comes to shows and movies. Is it possible to say which airline is the very best?
He said in another video that Emirates IFE “ICE” Is the best. It’s LOADED, not just the content Is excellent, the screens on their newer planes are enormous!
How many different types of Emirates economy seats are there? Cuz I've seen ones with no bi-fold tray table and the one I got on the 777 which has a bigger screen different to the one in this video even tho I wasn't on a refreshed 777
Thanks for doing some economy class reviews Dan. Much appreciated. Btw, I've yet to enjoy any seat on any Boeing! And yes, wherever possible, I will opt for the A380, even if it means later departure with a much longer lay over! The A380... it's worth it!
15 years after the first A380s I'm still so excited to see them BUT I'm not rushing to fly them as often as I used to ad I just find boarding and deboarding to be too long and cumbersome. I feel like there was a stretch where I was always taking A380 flights on Emirates, Qatar, or Etihad, and boarding was just incredibly frustrating. Take that away,'the experience is still incredible. And those engines ❤
Are Emirates meals free or do you have to pay for them. I’m planning on booking a flight with in economy class with them and I’d just like to know. If anyone knows the answer I’d appreciate it if you’d tell me.
I have an Emirates flight coming up that I'm booked premium economy, I wat to upgrade to business with points, but it says "upgrade not available" I see plenty of seats still open, any tips?
In the video Dan talks about seat 79A. All the seat review sites note these as a bad seat due to limited incline. Which is accurate? Would a 65A or the across the isle in 79 be ok? I did not under the comment about the plugs either, seems like all seat have them
Emirates miles are hard to earn directly, but they're very open to converting bank points from practically everyone including Chase, American Express, Citi, and Capital One
Totally agree did Bhx to Dxb and on to Hanoi. So A380 was on economy and very comfortable, then onward in 777. Omg I felt mu hip where being crushed compared to A380 but service was excellent as ever with Emirates. Great video
Also love the A380 and I'm excited that I will fly it from Bali to Dubai in a couple of weeks. The only downside I can mention is the gap between the seat and the window. Hence, you cannot lean towards the window when trying to sleep.
Hi Dan! U good? Do you mind me asking if you’re also going to do this review for Etihad? I forgot if you sad it or not 😅. It would be nice to see Saudia and Turkish as well. Hope you consider my suggestions! Have a good one!
Excellent vlog. I am planning to visit Dubai in June from London, UK would you recommend Emirates (A380 going and return 777) economy or Qatar (787-8 both direction) economy. Flight fare is about the same only $50 more by Qatar compare to Emirates air. Thanks. I never used both Airlines yet.
last year i flew a 777-300er out of newcastle. on the flight there we had the oldest cabin they use, and tbh, it wasnt very comfortable. on the flight back we had a bit of a newer cabin but still wasn't the best. in all honesty, if a not as good ife system and no wifi isnt a deal breaker, and they fly to where you're going, the tui 787s are a more comfortable aircraft, and the crew seems a lot better too
The problem with the 777 seat on Emirates is that the leg room is not ideal for someone with long legs for flights over 4 hours. Even on shorter duration flights, if one is sitting in the middle seat and the passenger in front has reclined their seat, it’s a nightmare getting in and out of the seat when needing the loo.

I’ve flown the Emirates 777-300ER and I’m excited to fly both that and the A380 in July!
How was ur flight trip ?
Thanks for the review Dan, I'm looking forward to flying on Emirates pretty soon but thanks for showing us the vegan meals that they offer as well, that's a huge plus for me
Even Sam also boarding Emirates with Economy flights, and then both legends meets together is a most memorable moment ever.
Imagine if Nonstop Dan, Sam Chui and Swiss001 crossover together, it would be a aviation knowledge with a little bit humor feels environment
Keep it up legend 💪💪💪❤❤❤
If you are flying with a toddler you might be able to request seats at the bulkhead. These tend to have more legroom to accomodate the bassinet.
Which airline is best for the a380?
Emirates
I’ve also flown on A6-EEM lol! Back In 2015 when it was new!
Anyways, the newer A380 are out of this world awesome!
True but it has a horrible economy class.
nonstop dan...you commented on taking the later morning flight if flying to Maldives b/c the flight prior is always packed. What about the 02:40 am flight? Is that usually packed full as well?
I'd expect that to be quite full with connecting passengers from Europe!
Ok thanks. Will try to secure a seat at front of the plane to make the deboarding process easier!
we ended up booking the 2:40am DXB flight due to our Maldives schedule and I picked exit rows/Extra Legroom Seats 24, as hubby needs room to stretch his legs;. That should suffice well enough for a 4 hour flight. If I have extra points next year, and miles upgrade is available for Business Class, I'll try to snag that! lol Thanks for your help!@@NonstopDan
Awesome review! I'm 95% convinced that Boeing aircraft seats cater to airlines and Airbus seats catering to passengers.
How does Emirates economy compare to JAL economy?
Your opinion if their Skywards+ is worth it for Dubai based travellers?
Would like to know this as well. To me it looks like the lowest tier of skywards+ is 100% not worth it but the other two maybe?
If you are flying long haul, a meal is included with every ticket.
I did not under the comment about the plugs either, seems like all seat have them
Those who have used them before .
Which do you advise to me to choose economy class to travel , Emirates or Qatar Airways ?
I’m confused… you can’t have a carry-on and a personal item for under your seat?
Have an amazing trip! 🙏
Great video Dan!!!!!
Is it just me is legroom in Emirates’ 777 economy class less than other airlines in the region like Qatar and Turkish?
6:34 into watching this video, i realized who's the special passenger is. Such an excellent airline. I need to try Emirates maybe in the near future.
Hi Dan! U good? Do you mind me asking if you’re also going to do this review for Etihad? I forgot if you sad it or not 😅. It would be nice to see Saudia and Turkish as well. Hope you consider my suggestions! Have a good one!
Interestin coincidence. I flew on A6-EEM back in 2015. First A380 I flew on!
Does it have power outlet for laptop charge?
the best seat for me is only the window seat in any row in ALL aircraft
I don't know if you noticed but there was a Ryanair plane at the Maldives? This was while the a380 was taxiing
The A380 flight was from Amman, Jordan not Maldives.
The B777 flight was to the Maldives.
last year i flew a 777-300er out of newcastle. on the flight there we had the oldest cabin they use, and tbh, it wasnt very comfortable. on the flight back we had a bit of a newer cabin but still wasn't the best. in all honesty, if a not as good ife system and no wifi isnt a deal breaker, and they fly to where you're going, the tui 787s are a more comfortable aircraft, and the crew seems a lot better too
Emirates are great (I live in Dubai), you missed a trick from Muscat though, next time fly to Khasab, the best landing and take off.
Really enjoy what you're putting out there!!.
As a tall individual I'm watching this after my dad booked the 777 🥲
Can't wait to see Ana on this format
is ist possible to connect your private bluetoth headphones with the entertainment system, inside the A380 and the 777 ??
If it isn't built into the IFE, you can buy a little adaptor so you can use your own bluetooth headphones :)
