What's funny is you've made the case for why upgrade. This is a better camera because the platform it is on is better, which means it is the camera you can use and the camera you can use Is always better than the camera you leave in the bag.
I haven't been flying my drones over the last few months so I sold my Mini 3 pro pretty much almost brand new it had maybe 5 hours on it and I got really good money for it with the accessories that I had. I mean, I got a $1000. Because I included a battery charger and some filters and stuff. And I'm glad I did because it's worth a lot less now that this amazing drone, which now has waypoints, has better tracking, has better obstical avoidance it is by far a better camera drone.

I sold the DJI RC for the similar reasons- just didnt think it was that great
I think you made a good decision in getting that Mini 4 Pro no doubt about it, that HDR in 60fps, the range, and obstacle avoidance especially handy when doing orbits, but I am not buying another DJI drone until they come up with a 5K/60fps HDR with variable optical zoom as I hate them sudden jumps to 3x or 7x I want to do it slow and smooth.

I think you make a big big mistake. Your mini 4 Pro cost for YOU : one mini 3 Pro + 460 $. for every one it cost ONLY 960 $. It’s not the same at all

Overall I'm pleased with the upgrade
i love my mini 3 and mavic 3 but man i am having a hard resiting the mini 4 pro. i love the mavic 3 tracking but having a massive drone follow me isnt as ideal than having a small and quiet mini drone following.
Plus that big drone ain't cheap!

All well and good, the batteries still cost 70 euros each. With the Mini 4 for 500 dollars, I also need 2 batteries. Now it won't be so cheap again. 👍😃
I did not sell my fly more combo,
I only sold the Drone and the controller with the battery it came with!

You’re correct on it. If you want to make better videos at a lesser cost would benefit you. There’s no reason to keep the mini 3 when you have the mini 4 which is an upgrade. Now if you were going to stay with the 3 and buy the 4 that won’t be beneficial to you. You did the right choice with selling the 3 to get the 4 and stay with the mini4 pro and the Mavic 3 pro. You can use them at your own choice for your own recording. And yes if you crash the 4 you have a better chance to spend less then the Mavic 3. Good choice and good luck. Thanks for the update. Sony actually paid me $800 to buy the Mini 4 Pro!!
See, I sold my Sony a7siii for $3,000 last week. Then I bought the Mini 4 Pro for $1,200 a couple days later. I made $800 on the deal.
The Mavic 3 Pro's MASS is its enemy. People keep talking shit about "thin plastic" - that is why its durable. Less mass = less crash. Damage. DC Rainmaker must have crashed M4P 10 or 12 times, picked it up, and kept going. Also Care Refresh is $79 vs $239 on the Big Boy. Very reasonable and perfect for risky stuff!

Mini 4 Looks nice as a back up to your Mavic 3 pro , Im curious do you still use the Autel drones (E2P V1 or V2) If so have you tried the Lite plus or E2P V3 ?

Just sold my MINI 3PRO, and waiting to see if DJI link the MINI 4 to the RC-PRO, if so, a no brainer I will buy one, if not I will more than likely stick with my AIR 2S and buy the MAVIC 3 PRO when they launch the MAVIC 4 PRO.
Also another angle, buying used. Avata goggles 2, fpv controller, 3 batteries with charge rail, skyreat case, motion controller 1. Entire package 1k picked up though I do want to get a motion controller 2
got the mini 3 pro 1 week before the 4 came out it was 50 off, anyway i thought at the time i should have bought the air 3 coming from the air 2s ....god i was wrong this thing the mini 3 with the screen rc is a little monster i don't need the side sensors I'm just like flying with some video on the west cost of Ireland, so windy.... this drone fly's exactly like the air 2s and battery wow.
I do miss heavy drones but the EU has come down on heavy drones ....legacy drones but mini 3 and 4 you have a little more freedom

I got my Fly More Plus for $112 (abd 31 cents - seriously, even though that sounds like a punchline.) Of course the Minin3 Pro I got a lot back on included filters, case, Wide Angle Lens etc that I have to repurchase. WHY do I need to do repurchase? As i JUST told DJI - its the "notch of non-interoperability" on the camera housing. Know what they said? "Some customers told us they already have accessories like charger and spare sticks for RC-2, so... we are SAVING CUSTOMERS MONEY" - see? It's for philanthropic purposes! Boy did we have their motivation wrong. Are you Ashamed X? I sure am!

Okay, if I were someone that cared about tracking, I might agree with you. Because, I honestly haven't used Active Track almost ever, I'm still going to stick with the Mavic 3. I'm VERY camera first and frankly, if the Mavic 3 didn't have any other features but the excellent camera, Vision Assist and the RC Pro, I would still be swinging from its nuts! My first reason for buying/ building drones since 2010 was/is flying. The Mavic 3 is an excellent flyer as well.
I've developed into a camera guy as the cameras have gotten better. I've never even saved footage from the GoPro HD I used with my home built drones, the garbage that came out of the Parrot AR Drone, the Parrot Bebop or the GoPro Hero 4 Black on the 3DR Solo. Not to mention the XStar Premium or Yuneec Q500 and Typhoon H. I didn't start saving and editing footage until I got the Mavic Pro and didn't really start CARING about footage until the Mavic 2 Pro.
I had the Mini 3 and Avata (got them for free) and almost retched when I looked at the footage vs The Mavic 3! Okay, that might be a SLIGHT exaggeration... it's not far off, though. I completely agree with you about the Air 3. Total waste of money if you have a Mavic 3 Pro.
what about the cost of the OS4 controller? I think a a3 would be a good companion.
So it really cost your 960 + 960 - 500. This mini pro 4 actually cost you $1420 but if it makes you feel better to think you saved $500 on this, more power to you lol
Can you review the M4P prop's screws? My M3P was replaced 9 times through my care refresh from stripped screws when simply replacing props. I was hoping DJI learned their lesson and improved the screw and quality of them.

Actually it's not. The sensor is simular. The camera platform is significantly better. It's like the old Full Frame vs APS argument. Yes the full frame tends to be better, but the APS can fit in a corner of another bag and be there . The camera used is always better than the camera left home or in the bag. Better tracking for action. Low mass durability. Waypoints. Hands down this will get used more by many photographers. So better camera.

I have the mini three pro and I had to get this four pro. I love the waypoint without the Hyperlapse. I love the features of the 360 obstacle avoidance. I love cruise control, and steel kept my 48 megapixel camera in the move. So I did, keep the mini 3. I am well satisfied with my new mini four. I will hold onto it for a while. It's got all the features I needed plus.By the way I enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work.

Nice! I review e-bikes and e-scooters too, but have been using my Mini 3 Pro for about a year and hate that it doesn't have side sensors. I was gonna buy a Skydio this Holiday season thinking they may go on sale, but I think I'm going to have to get the Mini 4 Pro. Now if I can only sell my Mini 3 Pro for a good price to cover the new drone cost......lol
I want one… the 360 obstacle avoidance is enough for me in the big forests here in SE Alaska.
I hear you, the obstacle avoidance works great when flying, just be a little patient when it comes to the tracking, the optical avoidance isn't quite there yet!

All drones will crash using the avoidance system. And after it crashes the owner doesn't activate it again . They just fly manually. The mini 2 is all you really need. Be happy fly safe.
Hi, I have the same opinion there isn't enough features to upgrade from the Mini3P to justify the investment. Like when the Mini2 came up I didn't upgrade from the Mini1 but I upgraded to the Mini3P .
Also, within EASA you can fly the Air3 C1 as the Mini3P C0 or the Mini4P C0. So if I upgrade it will be to the Air3 C1 but I will keep the Mini3P to travel outside EASA

Honesty can get you a lot of grief sometimes I see. Lol. I have a skydio and the mini 3 pro among others but you left out the elephant in the room. When I watch people do a tracking test with any DJI drone it irks me that most of them don't mention the fact that they're carrying around this big controller in their hand that they're constantly looking at. Look at me walking through the woods while looking at my controller. Lol Until DJ I can back engineer, which they have probably been trying to do, into skydio's autonomy ability and come out with a (beacon), I'll stick with skydio for tracking shots and DJI for still shots.

I did enjoy flying with the beacon, I think DJI will come out with that technology eventually but I think they know a lot more improvements have to be done to the tracking first before they can operate without a the standard controller!

Autel Nano+ still produces very good images. I generally like Autel’s app better for some reason. It also seams to download images more efficiently than DJI does. Still interested though, if nothing else for that remote.
