im in the same boat i really been wanting a legion go for so long i have a oled but man i can already feel the legion will replace it for me and with gamepass come on
But hows the battery? That's my only concern, in the Steam Deck I crank the screen brightness to the max because that's the way i like to play. How much time can you play a demanding title on the Legion Go?
I totally agree and great video! The Lenovo Legion GO is amazing. I have a LCD Steam Deck (the original) and decided to try the Legion GO because I saw one on sale at Best Buy, and it was open box so I got a great deal... Ever since then I love using the Legion GO and I haven't touched the Steam Deck since then. The detachable controllers are indeed a GAME CHANGER because they turn this relatively heavy device into the LIGHTEST device... Because you can put it on the table with its great kick stand, and then use the detached controllers comfortably on your lap. The high resolution 1600P and high refresh rate 144 Hz screen gives you options (you can always lower the resolution or refresh rate and it still looks good, or upscale a game to 1600P), but many simpler games will be playable at 1600P and / or 144 Hz and then it's amazing. Performance is really great and fast with the Z1 Extreme chip. Lastly, the Legion GO is highly useable as a small portable laptop thanks to its glorious big screen (compared to other handhelds), high resolution, fast processor, and detachable right controller that turns into a mouse. It's also fantastic as a tablet for watching movies. So all in all, I agree that it's superbly well designed by Lenovo. Cheers!
Just got my Legion on Friday and man im sooo happy with it, my Alienware m17 r2 died on me about three weeks ago and it was either this or a ps5 and man this thing is way too cool lol got me a Uperfect 2k 144hz monitor jsaux dock and razer mouse and keyboard, new main setup now no doubt
I am happy that we got choices. I was in the lucky position to try out the ROG ally, steam deck OLED and the Legion Go. And the ROG ally was my choice at the end. Just fits my needs the best. But everyone is different.
Changed my mind in the last minute from Ally X to Legion Go . Best decision I made… love the legion go. Got a beefy power bank and I am set !!! If portable I just run 15 watts balanced , lower frames playable for longer on battery. Then I crank up the tdp if I want more frames in combination of Scaling tech , frame get etc … overall happy
I’ve got the steam deck oled but I’m wanting a windows handheld the only thing that holds me back from the go is the sound quality compared to the rog ally’s, great video man
I got the SteamDeck when it first came out and absolutely loved it. Then I heard about the Go, and got that when it first came out. I love both, but the Go is so much easier to work with. Steam Deck is awesome with Steam but getting Epic to work on it took some time. I tried going back to SteamDeck and just couldn't remember how to upgrade Proton and what not to get it to work. The Go is just easier because it's just a windows machine. I just wish the Go felt like the SteamDeck, that is still an awesome handheld to hold. So comfortable compared to the Go. And yes I got the 3d printed add ons. Steam deck is still more comfortable.
@@GadgetGuardians669 yeah definitely steam deck for me is like holding butter, just nice and comfortable. The legion go has the corners that dig right into my palms, but the 3D printed snap-ons really remedied that. I just think that those controllers are just too angled for me and others. But overall I just much prefer the Go because it's Windows based (and that screen!) I am not a Linux person at all...lol
@@AmaurisRM my opinion is VRR is negligible… side by side. The GO is a great device for the price if you are in the market for a handheld. It has its ups and downs like any other device but I think it has the most pros with the least cons

There are some cons to the Legion Go. They don't keep up with the AMD drivers so they are never current. Its significantly heavier than competitors and the controllers dig into your palm making playing uncomfortable. Its a large device and I have large hands but still have trouble reaching the buttons. The large screen is nice, but it doesn't have VRR so it doesn't look as smooth and Rog Ally or Steam deck when running games at lower framerates (under 60 fps). I have one and no it isn't that loud. Compared to a gaming laptop its really quiet, although it's louder than steam deck. But then steam deck couldn't play the same demanding games. In short- don't let others comments put you off. Its not loud
@@darronayles7286Yeah, bro! Ever since it was released, I wanted to buy one. I've left a comment on almost every UA-cam channel, and most of them said it's loud. There are some who told me it's quite quiet and stuff as well. I just don't want to buy it and find out it's super loud.
I just got a Legion GO three days ago and honestly the fan is loud for sure, in Performance mode at least. It is not if you select the Quiet profile and TDP under 20W. At the same TDP of a Steam Deck, approx 15W, the fan is ok, you won't notice it with headphones on. It becomes a plane at 25-30W tho. Actually I'm ok with the 15-20W profile anyway, just lower resolution and upscale. At 25+W it is also quite hot on the back/metal chassis.
