In June, the Indian Space Research Organization, or ISRO, announced that it plans to launch its own space station by 2030.
This would make India the fourth country to launch a space station that is solely its own, along with Russia, the United States, and China.
India is yet to send a human being into space and the country has not released any concrete plans on how it plans to build its station or what it will even look like, but it is an ambitious and admirable goal.
From the Soviet Union’s Saylut 1, Saylut 2, and Cosmos 557, to China’s Tiangong-1 and Tiangong-2, we dive into what challenges other nations faced while putting their first space stations into orbit on this episode of Elements.

The simple answer is, we are, you're not following the news of our Media and what the UN thinks of our progress so far.
But really, ISRO is a crowned jewel for our country because not only it's intellectually the best, but it is taking on the space race and progressive race for Electric cars, Venus Mission seriously and Sorry if I can't articulate it properly but Humanity needs as many space station and as many minds it can afford for the advancement of species beyond nationality, gender, cast, creed, colour etc. Stop whining and appreciate the fact that everyone is trying to study our universe and cosmos and wants to explore them and that'd be possible through sheer cooperation.

Truthfully, India is an economic and technological giant, prospectively the next addition to the global superpowers, and they are definitely in stride.
Indians are global champions of STEM, silicon valley magnates, technological directors and truthfully some of the best engineering and scientific minds in the world. Love them or hate them, you can't ignore them.

To contain brain drain, Indian corporate sector needs to seriously invest in applied research. Right now, they don't invest anything in applied research. (By anything I mean its peanuts compared to what the Government invests in CSIR, DRDO and ISRO). These old money minded industrialists need to see the bigger picture and stop relying on just lower labour costs to achieve their profits. They need to learn how to innovate for a market. Wages will rise in India and at some point, relying on that alone will not make us competitive anymore. If Indian Industry has not learned to lead by innovation by then, we Indians are going to end up in a middle income trap. Which means we will never reach the status of an advanced economy and will end up like Brazil. China has already negotiated its way around middle income trap. Indian industry is running out of time and brains.

NASA has *zero* India's in it. To work in NASA one have to be a US Citizen. So the people working in NASA might have Indian origin but not Indian Citizens.
Also only 1% of NASA employees are Indian America's.
      .
72% of NASA employees are White America's
      12% Black
      7% Asian American
      8% Latino and
      *1% American Indian*
( Numbers officially published by the NASA )
      .
So out of the total 17000 NASA employees only 170 are Indian Americans ( That to American citizens )

Isro's Chief has mentioned in a press interview that Space station will be around 20 tons(similar to Soviet Union's Salyut) and will have two modules.
December 2020:- Gaganyaan unmanned test 1
July 2021:- Gaganyaan unmanned test 2
    December 2021:- Gaganyaan manned mission
If delayed due to some problem, than July 2022.
[6 Vyomanauts have been selected and there training will start from 2020 in Russian training facility]
Spacedx is a project under development, in which two similar satellites will be launched in sapce and docking experiment will be performed.
It may happen next year or in next 3-4 years.
GSLV mk3 will have a new semi cryogenic engine in 2022 which will increase its LEO payload, 10T to 15T.
In my opinion ISRO can send Space station before 2030(2026-27).
