I was just telling my husband I’m thinking about relaxing my hair. I’ve been natural since 2009, loc’d my hair in 2015 and cut off my locs November of last year. Enjoy whatever hair journey you feel is best for you! 💛
What you did is called "texlaxing". I LOVED my texlaxed hair. I was texlaxed in my very early 20s and it's honestly how I learned how to take care of my own hair. I'm natural now and my hair is mid back length but I as much as I love my natural hair, I miss being texlaxed. It's literally the best of both worlds. Enjoy it!
Girl, I went back to a relaxer in June after 3 1/2 years natural. I was over it because I barely enjoyed my hair because I didn’t know what to do with it. It was always braided down after I washed and deep conditioned it, and under a wig. I sweat in my head too, so silk pressing was a waste of money. I know how to take care of my hair much better now and stretch the time between retouches without breakage from the new growth. The more my new growth comes in, I start to use my natural hair products to keep the new growth moisturized and soft. I just got my retouch on Dec 1 (I was never able to wait this long between retouches before) by a professional this time because I also wanted a good trim since I haven’t cut my hair in ages. He took at least 2-3 inches off and my hair is still right below my shoulder blade. This is the best condition my hair has ever been. Now I’ll use my relaxed hair products until I start getting more new growth. My goal is to stretch my next retouch to around May/June. I’m glad I went back to relaxing and l agree-I don’t want to hear about no cancer, etc. It’s my choice!
Hey CC, You did a really good job girly. This key thing is your hair is healthy and you know how to better take care of it whether rather relaxed or natural. I liked your results and the fact that it wasn't bone straight and had texture
Not the creamy crack. Joking. I’m sure they are safe ways to do it and if your hair is healthy go for it. Hopefully the ingredients are better. I definitely considered it and may half relaxed my leave out when I had a sew in😮 I know ghetto but… a girls gotta do what a girls got to do. Outside of my leave out I’ve been natural for over 10 years. Ok sis inches! Love the change! Change is good. I’m seriously considering dreads! Love the hair girl you look so happy!
Love it CC!!! It came out beautiful 😍 I’ve been natural for two years and I’m so ready to put that relaxer in chile!!! 🤣 I feel I will be able to manage it a little better. The relaxer has been sitting on the counter for about two weeks now lol . I need to get to it TODAY!!🤣😫
That’s right! Do what’s best for you, your family and your lifestyle. You did a great job. I find that I only like textured hair these days. The only tip I would give is to start on the section of hair that is most thick and kinky. That’s prob somewhere more toward the front. You can also wait until most of the relaxer has grown out before you do it again since you know how to take care of it after all these years of practice
Wow!! Looks good! Now get you some perm/flexi rods of different sizes. You can do some curls on a semi-blowed dried hair for the perfect results! As long as you're happy with your decision!
There's nothing wrong with change.... Your hair looks great natural, but I totally understand the convenience of relaxing your hair. I sweat from my head too and its almost impossible to ever wear it straight for more than a few days (especially when working out)😣. Lol.. Your hair looks good. ✨Wishing you well on your new hair journey.😊
Hello, your hair looks nice. I’m ready to go back to the creamy crack, too. I’m ready to wear a bob & not a wig bob. I don’t want it super straight, but texture straight.
I really just wanna pause this video and just thank you because all the reasons you have for relaxing are all the same reasons I have and they are legitimate reasons . I’m about to have two under two and I’m also a wife and full time working mum and it’s all too much. The last thing I want on my to do list is having to look in the mirror and figure out how to look neat with my hair lol my hair makes almost gives me anxiety lol it’s that bad 😂😂😅
I’m still ear length after 10 years of being natural. I wasted a decade of my life. I should have just relaxed after 2 years. My hair retains length more with relaxers

🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 That’s the exact reason I shared my journey! People will try to shame you for doing what you want with YOUR hair!!!
So would this be considered a texlax?🤔
Girl idk!! I added a relaxer and this is how it came out lol!!
@CamilliaYvette Well if you like it, then I love it.😉❤️👍
If that's your length after 10 years then I'm so disappointed
I’m sorry you feel that way.
