Ok, to business: Your old hairstylist disregarded your very simple request, so please don't reward him with your business by returning to him. You are the queen of relaxed hair, and deserve better. Besides, it's easier to cut a little more than to have to wait months to grow back the excessive amounts of hair he's cut. Also, I don't let them determine how much to trim. Let them know how much you want taken off.
Thanks for introducing me to the Affirm System...after a 14 week stretch, I finally switched from ORS to Affirm...I love this relaxer. It is moisturizing and it seems to work with my hair! Thank you!!
I wish I used Affirm years ago OMG I really didn’t know what I was missing! my hair was so dry and damaged from not taking care of my hair and the ORS box relaxer left my hair so under processed on top of always burning my scalp badly I decided to try the affirm system after watching a video of yours and others and relaxed my hair with the sensitive scalp formula a week ago, it immediately brought life back to my hair and it is so soft and moisturized, I used the positive link as a deep conditioning treatment yesterday and I didn’t really have any hair lost. I can go a few days without having to moisturize and seal my hair and it will still feel soft, before my hair would just suck the moisturizer right up and get dry easily.
Wow!! Sis, I appreciate the feedback. So glad you had positive results with Affirm, too. ORS is a great relaxer but I prefer the ingredients in Affirm plus it doesn’t burn my scalp either. Your hair sounds like it’s on the right track and thriving. Keep up the great work🫶🏾💕
💜Hi I just want to thank you for all your tips and tricks and sharing all your knowledge. My hair was very overprocessed, my own doing by overlapping relaxer, and I’ve been following your advice with deep conditioning, protein treatments and even switched to Affirm. It’s been about three months now and I see a huge difference in my hair. Much less shedding, less frizzy, thicker and much more moisturized. I use your method of sectioning the hair prior to relaxing and it’s genius!! It’s only a couple of weeks since I first relaxed with the Affirm Sensitive Scalp formula and so far my roots are straight and feel very nice. I use the Affirm Protecto with the Dax and it’s great!! My goal is to grow out all the damaged hair and I look forward to healthy hair. You look beautiful as always and thank you so much!!💜

It's really great to see you. Your hair is doing super well, and it's beautiful. I can't wait to hear about the new products, especially the edge controls. 💜
Hair goals! 3 questions: what do you think about using blow dry brushes on relaxed hair? Is that something you’d try? Will you make a video on natural ladies going back to relaxers , giving tips on caring for relaxed hair ?
I have been using Affirm for years & absolutely love it. At one point I was going to great clips also, they really listen in terms of how much you want cut. You should probably share with the person who cut your hair to cut a little bit more.

I go to Great Clips as well! I've had good experiences there. They do whatever I ask, and I'm in and out quick. I use Affirm 5 in 1. Different from Aphogee but works great. I just hate it requires 30 mins instead of 2 like Aphogee. I am a faithful Olaplex user. Do you think the Wow product would interfere with Olaplex's properties?
Thanks for sharing your experience with Great Clips, hun. I agree, it’s such a fast in and out process plus I can book my appointments in their app. It’s such a breeze!! I have the 5 in 1 but there’s no protein. I think they changed the ingredients recently, double check yours and let me know😉 I don’t think the Color Wow will interfere with Olaplex, if anything it may enhance it!

Hi! Your hair is lovely as always. Glad that you are back! 😊Just recently ran out of relaxer and found out that my relaxer is discontinued. How did you or how can I find a Avlon Distributor?
Hello, first I want to say your hair is gorgeous and I really enjoy your videos. I want to ask you about relaxers containing formaldehyde. Do you know which brands don’t contain it? When I look online it’s very vague. Thank you so very much. Have a wonderful day.😊
Good morning sis..on my new relaxed journey after being natural for over 7 years...my question is should I do a protein treatment before same or after touch up? Subscriber by the way...ty!
Hey! This video was more confirmation that I need to switch to Affirm. I'm gonna try to suggest this brand to my stylist, because she recently switched to mizani, and 4-5 weeks in, my hair is unusually thicker already! 🤦🏾♀It feels as if I'm about due for another one soon. And I usually stretch my relaxers 10-12 weeks, but there's no way I'll be able to do so this time😔. Hair looking GREAT girl!!❤
@@marwatageldin my stylist had some in her salon. I don't know where she got it, but she said it was expensive. She said it was lye, also. Don't know if it was the butter blend.
Hey hun! I used Mizani years ago, it was the butter blend line, and it left my hair severely underprocessed. Not sure what happened but I never used it again🙅🏾♀️
Hey Val I listen and watch your channel all the time. I have a question today what about scalp care? I see no videos out there on scalp care at all do you have one? Think will have one?
I am completely natural and relaxer free for a little over two years and I recently colored my hair using L’Oreal HiColor copper, no bleach it turn my color into a dark, reddish brown, it’s been two months since I colored my hair is it safe to relax it now? At least relax, my roots?
Aww 🥹 thanks hun!! I typically flat iron with every relaxer day session and sometimes in-between. I still air dry or revair my hair on wash days though.
@@twinklestar6942… the Revair is a really nice hair dryer… Google it and you will see how it looks… I have been thinking about investing in it or the Dyson supersonic….
Hey girl! When I googled affirm to kind of check it out, I noticed a lot of links were popping up about law suits and cancer causing ingredients. Did you come across those too before you made your change? If so what made you still continue to go ahead and use Affirm?
My hair reverts a week after I use affirm. All the texture comes back! I left it for almost 30mins my last relaxer but same thing. And I use normal strength.
Day-1er here, lol, hair looks fabulous as always and so do you. I fell off, but I'm jumping back on asap, this was the inspiration that I needed and mos def trying Affirm... Thanks for the update great video!!
Hey girl!! I appreciate your loyalty over the yearsss🙏🏾 Yes jump back in and try to remain consistent! If you decide to try Affirm, let me know how it goes💕
Hi,i currently use ORS normal relaxer and i have a mushroom cut,i like my hair bone straight,i seen in your other video you set the timer for 15min as your sis was applying than rinsed it out,it takes close to 20min for my hair to get straight(thats after i apply than let it sit for 20min) i have 3c/4a...would you recommend i try the same process with affirm or do it how you did in your video?
Could you please review the Affirm 5in1 treatment…. I wanna purchase it but I haven’t got a sensible review on if it’s good or not. I use all Avalon products but I have been using Apogee protein but it leaves my hair very dry I have to go in with the positive link to get it soft again. Please help
I use either my neutralizing shampoo, Shea moisture JBCO shampoo or Aussie moist shampoo. They all do a great job of removing excess oil, product, build up etc.
Clarify with a clarifying shampoo (this will get rid of any product buildup), then use a sulfate free shampoo (this will bring back slip and softness into the hair), follow up with a moisturizing deep conditioner (zero protein in the ingredients) for 30-45mins with heat. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for about 4-6 weeks to help restore balance💕
Val- I did my second relaxer this year after being 4C natural a few weeks back. Used Affirm. I did relax mid way down to ends due to underprocess on previous. I am shedding like crazy, help!!!

I am currently using ORS lol and have been following you forever lol! I’m like 10 weeks post relaxer so I think I’ll try Affirm now and see!!
Awww you’re loyalty is eveythinggg🫶🏾 TY
ORS is a great relaxer system. If it works for you, don’t switch!
You look amazing 😊❤ Would love a skincare video if you're comfortable doing one 😅
Thank youuu🫶🏾💕
Hello, first I want to say your hair is gorgeous and I really enjoy your videos. I want to ask you about relaxers containing formaldehyde. Do you know which brands don’t contain it? When I look online it’s very vague. Thank you so very much. Have a wonderful day.😊
I used the Affirm for dry and itchy scalp. ❤I love it. No
Looking back.
Ahhh!! So glad you love it too. I know I couldn’t be the only one💕🤌🏾 thanks for sharing hun!!
Hey, do you mine me asking how do you find mizani? Is it the classic of butter blend. I want to relax my virgin hair soon.
Is Profectiv no good?
@@marwatageldin my stylist had some in her salon. I don't know where she got it, but she said it was expensive. She said it was lye, also. Don't know if it was the butter blend.
@@Dangerkiller-D I wouldn't know. I never used it.
Hey hun! I used Mizani years ago, it was the butter blend line, and it left my hair severely underprocessed. Not sure what happened but I never used it again🙅🏾♀️
I'm a relaxed gal too! Just wondering if you'll try the Cecred products?
So happy to see you and thanks for the info.Really helpful ❤❤❤
You are so welcome and thanks for watching💕🫶🏾
Val, u have very beautiful hair, your hair is goals! TFS
Thank you so so much!🫶🏾💓
❤❤❤❤ love love love your hairrrrr
Hey Val I listen and watch your channel all the time.
I have a question today what about scalp care? I see no videos out there on scalp care at all do you have one? Think will have one?
Hey hun! That’s a good one💕 I don’t do too much to be honest but a video on my scalp care would be a great idea.
I am completely natural and relaxer free for a little over two years and I recently colored my hair using L’Oreal HiColor copper, no bleach it turn my color into a dark, reddish brown, it’s been two months since I colored my hair is it safe to relax it now? At least relax, my roots?
Has your pre-relaxer routine changed ? Can you do an updated video if it has🙏🏾🙏🏾
Nope! Nothing has changed✨
Your hair looks super good. Do you flat iron your hair every wash day? Or do you air dry still?
Aww 🥹 thanks hun!! I typically flat iron with every relaxer day session and sometimes in-between. I still air dry or revair my hair on wash days though.
Okay cool. But what is revair . I don’t know what that mean? I’m sorry
@@twinklestar6942… the Revair is a really nice hair dryer… Google it and you will see how it looks… I have been thinking about investing in it or the Dyson supersonic….
@@twinklestar6942it’s a blow dryer.
Me: **once again putting the affirm relaxer back in my cart after watching this more updated relaxer video**🤣🤣
Oh no! That happened to me but I wasn’t using it right. Are you self relaxing?! Are you following all the steps?
Only relaxers that straighten my hair are guandadine I don't know other's don't work well.
Your hair looks fabulous. Could you please share links to the wigs featured in the video (lace wig and hair band wig). Thanks
Thank you so so much!! The videos for these wigs are here on my channel💕
Hi Val thanks for your videos and saving my hair. Is the Affirm kit no-lye? I usually prefer lye but the kit has everything i need. Can i go for it?
Hey!! The kit I believe is no-lye. I’ve seen ladies use it with great results. Personally, I prefer lye.
Great video Sunshine! I heard coconut oil makes your hair darker
Thank you💕 is that so?! Coconut oil is all up and through my regimen☺️
Hello dear!💕
How often do you wash your hair?
How soon after relaxer day do you start moisturizing and sealing?
I'm afraid to order the Affirm mild formula but people are complaining about the packaging comes damaged with relaxer everywhere!
Could you please review the Affirm 5in1 treatment…. I wanna purchase it but I haven’t got a sensible review on if it’s good or not. I use all Avalon products but I have been using Apogee protein but it leaves my hair very dry I have to go in with the positive link to get it soft again. Please help
Your hair is beautiful love it
Thank you, Teresa😘
Will no lye Affirm work? My hair and scalp never worked with lye relaxers. The last relaxer I used was ORS no lye.
Yes. It works great and didn't burn.
Hair looking good ❤
@hairlicious what to you use for your clarifying shampoo? I know you no longer use ORS.
I use either my neutralizing shampoo, Shea moisture JBCO shampoo or Aussie moist shampoo. They all do a great job of removing excess oil, product, build up etc.
I wish affirm would sell their lye relaxer in smaller tubs like ORS.
great video, beautiful hair !
Hey girl! Long time. Thanks for the luv💕
How do I treat protein damage. I am afraid to wash my own hair right now
Clarify with a clarifying shampoo (this will get rid of any product buildup), then use a sulfate free shampoo (this will bring back slip and softness into the hair), follow up with a moisturizing deep conditioner (zero protein in the ingredients) for 30-45mins with heat.
Oh no! Sorry to hear hun. Are you sure it’s shedding and not breakage? Which affirm relaxer did you use and what was your process?
I have followed u for over ten yrs now just realized it.
Will no lye Affirm work? I can only use no lye.
It should work just fine as well.
@@HairliciousInc it did.
Hola! Cuánto tiempo dejas el relajante en el cabello para conservar textura? Cuántos minutos aproximadamente?
Hey! Approximately 22-25 mins
Hi Val!
I was wondering what you were doing using ORS.
Glad you're with the pros now, are you a licensed stylist?
You have a pro products distributor?
LOL really?! You sound just like my Avlon Distributor🤣 No, I’m not a stylist.
@@HairliciousInc I mean no harm whatsoever, just write to people without a lot of fluff.
It's not fluffy when I tell you, you look amazingly blessed, beautiful and joyous because I mean it sincerely.
As for my hair, I wasn't trying to stretch but suffered a setback with a stand-in stylist when my fave was booked solid last year (Fall '22).
So, over the past year I healed my hair without heat, hair oils & herbs.... naturalista remedies and regular trims.
I'm going in for a retouch, almost virgin, on 12/21/23.
I'll be in touch, so good to see you again, my virtual daughter.

We appreciate you ❤
🥹🥹🥹 love y’all, seriously!
How would I find an Avlon distributor in my area to purchase relaxer directly from? I’ve gotten relaxer off Amazon before and would like to start getting it straight from distributor so I know it’s 100%
I contacted Avlon directly and they put me in touch with a distributor near me.
I want to know about workouts. I love to workout but my hair gets tangled, dry, and hard. Any suggestions? Do you workout?
I workout occasionally and I just keep my hair in a secure bun and I’m good. No tangles or dryness.
